Dr Nguyen is awesome here. It's always difficult for me to get some frames to fit my face and she came up w a great idea. She suggested to get a pair of designer sunglasses she had and to replace them w prescription lens. Now everywhere I go people always ask me where did I get my glasses from. The quality of the exam certainly outranked any exam I'd had in the past and Dr. Nguyen was so helpful and personable. I found Dr Nguyen to be attentive to my vision issues, thorough in her examination, and patient giving explanations to my questions. She was easy to talk to about my concerns. I told her that in the past wearing toric lenses did not give me satisfactory vision after a few hours of wearing them because they would rotate, blurring my vision. I also stated that I had trouble reading up close. I am happy with her selection and fitting of contact lenses and glasses. They seem to be working out much better than in those I've worn in the past. The office staff are also fantastic. Katy and Simon spent a lot of time and gave honest opinions to help me find glasses that were flattering to my small face. They also understood my budget concerns since I did not have vision insurance and paying out-of-pocket. They never made me feel pressured into buying anything. I was looking for a last minute eye exam before the end of the year and turned to Yelp for help (I a master with words btw ). I chose Optical Edge solely on the amount of positive reviews. I booked the appointment with the very friendly lady on the phone. I later called to inform them I was running late and they told me it would not be a problem, and to come on in. I arrive and am greeted by two extremely pleasant ladies at the front desk. They offered me a drink and snacks, after I was checked in. Tiffany started the exam and then got me to Dr. Nguyen. The exam went great and Dr. Nguyen was very pleasant and thorough. When it came time to select glasses Dr. Nguyen jumped right in to help me select them. To me that was very unusual, but appreciated. I found my new eye doctor! This optical is beautifully decorated with sparkling chandeliers and a modern flair. Everyone here is so warm and friendly. Dr. Nguyen made me feel right at home! This office has really unique eye examining machines where I was able to see images of the nerves in my eyes as Dr. Nguyen thoroughly discussed with me any issues I could be having. She was very informative and I really learned more about my eyes than from any other eye doctor I've been to in the past. Also, this place has a great selection of frames! They have a wide range of unique and high end frames that I would never find in other typical chain opticals. I was able to receive my frames pretty fast since they have a lab on-site. My husband went to Optical Edge to get his eyeglasses Rx filled. I wasn't looking for any eyeglasses for myself, but I couldn't resist looking at all the fine quality frames that this beautiful Clear Lake eye boutique offered. Here, there are unusual line of frames for eyeglasses and sunglasses that one doesn't find at the usual larger commercial brand eyeglass stores. In no time, I found some beautiful designer sunglasses. I needed Rx lenses put in the sunglasses which Optical Edge offered to fill so that the color/gradient would look just like the original designer pair. Because I haven't been to an optometrist in years, I needed new prescription before ordering the lenses. I was surprised how I could get an appointment with Dr. Regina Nguyen that same day. I've had eye exams since childhood so I know the routine. This eye exam was very thorough and comprehensive. Furthermore, I found Dr. Nguyen to be personable and knowledgeable. She spent time on my exam/eye history and was patient in answering all my questions and in getting the prescription right. In addition to my sunglasses, I needed new computer eyeglasses Rx which she provided from the exam. I had no problem finding some high-quality frames here, and I am very picky. I was planning for my computer glasses to be a single lens Rx because that's what was done in the past. Because I am nearsighted, I would change eyeglasses back and forth between computer Rx lenses and distance lenses if I need to look further away. Simon, the owner, recommended progressive lenses so that my major field of vision would be computer Rx; however, if I were to look around peripherally, I can now have distance vision without having to change to another pair of glasses. (I was wary of progressive lenses because I had issues with past ones from Lenscrafters in which I couldn't see well). Simon patiently explained all the progressive lens options with visual demonstrations so I knew exactly what I was getting. I now have been wearing these progressive from Optical Edge for awhile now, and I am very, very pleased. They do exactly what I wanted. No longer am I changing glasses back and forth :). Every individual at Optical Edge knows their business and are pleasant to deal with. I don't think I have ever been to a business that is more concerned with customer satisfaction than this one. Not that I had any problems, but If one is not the least bit happy with something, they want to know about it so they can fix it. I will bring all my eyeglass/sunglass needs/wants to this place from now on. One more important consideration, Optical Edge actually accepted the insurance I had. In the past, LensCrafters and other eyeglass shops never accepted my insurance. So, YES! I HIGHLY recommend Optical Edge !!! read more

Dr. Nguyen and her staffs were amazing. I have never had any eye exams that was this thorough. I have definitely found my optometrist!! Dr. Nguyen took the time to ask many questions, and she seemed like she genuinely cared. I did not feel rushed or as if I was just another patient. I had so many different test done with equipment that I have never been tested with before. Her office was so nice, clean, and everything including the equipments was brand new. After Dr. Nguyen finished all her testings, her staff took their time to help me find the perfect pair of glasses. I end up getting both pairs and even went back for a pair of sunglasses. She had so many designer brand name frames to choose from. I have never had this type of experience with any other eye doctor. This office is in one word, amazing. The experience I had while selecting frames, lenses, asking about getting a prescription done on my favorite pair of Oakley sunglasses, about different brands and even materials of contacts, and what type of lasik I'd be a good candidate for - was amazing. Dr. Regina Nguyen and her staff really went above and beyond to answer my huge array of questions and give me advice on the best way to go about providing me with what I needed. I opted for the best set of lenses and a pretty nice pair of frames. Her assistant also took her time to make sure all the measurements were perfect before submitting the details to the lab. Their in-house lab tech had the lenses cut and fitted within 20 minutes, and they were bang on. I honestly felt like these are the best pair of glasses I have ever owned, and I have gone through quite a few, always opting to go to eye masters, vision works, or LensCrafters. The quality and care you receive at this office is worlds ahead of the franchises I have listed and similar type offices. It is also very clean and upscale looking.
