We happened upon Optical Outlets through our vision insurance and I'm so glad we did! I absolutely love the eye doctor here!! She's great with young kids, and explains things so well!! She's caring, cautious, and patient. I brought in my son for an exam, and I was impressed by her that I made appts. the following week for my other two children and I'm so glad I did. She discovered something potentially alarming in my 8yo and after some extensive testing it turned out to be something she was born with, but other eye doctors missed it! Optical Outlet does not stand behind their products. I Purchased glasses designed specifically for computer screens 7 months ago. I only use them when I work. Over $400.00. The coating they add to the lenses ($125.00 extra) is peeling off. Guess what? They do not warranty it. I was told it is warranted for 3 months... Now, they are totally useless. I give this one star because I can't give zero. I feel like they brought me into a storage closet to do my initial testing and then I went to see the optometrist. Since I have diabetes, I require additional testing. with previous visits to other providers, they show me a picture of the inside of my eyes and describe what they see. None of that happened. The Dr just stated everything looks good and no pictures were taken. Also, I have cataracts, and voiced my concerns, but he didn't seem interested. I am desperately trying to find another provider that will take my Humana Advantage policy. The management team at this particular store does not understand customer service. I ordered and paid for a pair of sunglasses that the arm broke within 4 months of having them. Trust me - I am very funny about my glasses. If my wife touches the lenses I get irritated. I am gently with them and take incredible care of them. The arm on the glasses broke again - the same arm by the way, and the manager said there was nothing they could do. Over $200 spent on a pair of sunglasses and they can do nothing when it is the same arm that broke once already. Brought my kids in to get their eyes checked after failing vision screenings. The dr was nice and tentative to my kids while talking to me. The kids had a nice experience while with the dr. The appointment did take an exceptionally long time as they were overbooked. 2 and half hours just to get their eyes checked. The glasses did come in pretty fast at less than a week. My kids and myself are happy with the products. They have received lots of compliments and saw instant improvement with their sight. read more

I came in for my appointment and NO ONE said a word to me. After a few minutes a girl looks up and says "oh, do you have an appointment"? Yes, I processed to tell her as she sat at her desk with no invitation to sit at her desk. She seemed off big okay. I was then told that I would have to wait because they tried calling my insurance yesterday (once) and could not get a hold of them. I made my appt over a week ago. The girl who made the appt was actually sweet and confirmed my insurance then. Not sure what happened in the mean time..? I asked, how long I'd have to wait and she said she wasn't sure. Okay. I even called this am to confirm and ask if I could come in sooner and nothing was said to me at that time. The girl seemed annoyed with me for asking questions.... To top it, a coworker sitting next to her was talking about working there and "walking out", she even whispered to the client about if she's no longer here what to do... when she came back in. They started bantering with each other and even swearing (in play) but I don't need to hear that. If I return, would she give me the same assistance or is she already one foot out the door ya know? Beware of this optical store. I bought my progressive glasses 7 months ago. It was important for me that these glasses had scratch resistant treats, anti reflective coating, hydrophobic coating, UV blocking treatment and blue light retracting treatment. This glasses are always blurry no matter what I do. I went 3 weeks after I bought it to tell them about how this glasses are so uncomfortable to see with them. A customer service representative told me to clean it with alcohol. I have cleaned it many times but unsuccessful. I should have gone somewhere else. Very disappointed!! read more

Optical outlet frames appear to be no better than dollar store glasses. Last year I purchased my glasses at Sam's, they offer a guarantee of 12 months. This year I purchased my glasses at Optical outlets. The glasses broke in a short amount of time. I had to pay for the frame replacement. Will never go back. Had an exam, got new glasses, when they came in my eyesight was better without the glasses on than with them. Had another exam, turned out different than the first exam and it was determined that my current prescription was what I needed. So they were supposed to send the pair of new glasses back out for new lenses to get my current prescription installed but after over 2 weeks, I never received my glasses. I decided to call them for an update and low and behold, the glasses were at the store. I don't think they were ever sent out because when I put them on, they were just as bad as the first pair. So either they were never sent out or they just do not know how to manufacture lenses. I don't have time for this and have never had trouble with other eye doctors in the past. read more

I had an appoinment today and was not the best experience. When I got there I asked about my insurance coverage. The lady said that maybe I'll have to pay some extra money. My insurance covers $300,.00 for exam and contacts. They charged me $144..40 for the comprehensive exam, $99.99 Toric??? $119.90 for 2 boxes of 6 contacts. That's not the only thing. They didn't have the samples to check that the exam was correct, so I don't know if they are right or not. Last year I went to another place I only paid $80.00 for the exam and the $300.00 paid the contacts for a whole year. I'm not going back there anymore. I just called my insurance to let them know, if the lenses are not correct, they'll have to perform another exam and make the contacts. The doctor was fine a little bit of an attitude the receptionist and girls working in the office were horrible rude disrespectful and just plain ignorant. After paying for eye exam getting a prescription that wasn't correct changing the prescription four times, I still don't have the correct prescription. I have insurance and used it for this visit. They do their best to accommodate your budget and they check all possible ways to save you money, which is very important to me. As with any other place that takes walk-ins there may be a wait. The customer is (almost) always right. Right? Well they made my first glasses out of plastic, not polycarbonate. OK, so they amazingly said I could keep those glasses and they would make a new pair correctly at no charge! Wow! The only problem is that they made the new glasses wrong in a different way. I told the lady not to make the bottom half of my bifocals so high. She drew a line on the lenses, and I kept saying it was too high up. I needed more room to see out of the top part for distance. But she kept insisting she was right, so I finally gave in to the "professional". I picked up the new FREE glasses and was only able to see through the top half if I pushed the frame way down on my nose. Of course that threw off my vision to the point that I tripped over the curb to their parking lot. But since these new glasses were free, I just took them and left. They are worthless to me. I went to Optical Outlet three years in a row the first year I found the doctor to be very cold and uncaring especially when he put the dilator in my eyes and cause severe burning for 5 minutes and did not volunteer to put the numbing agent until I asked 5 minutes later with my eyes closed the entire time The next year I tried another doctor and I really liked her however she also dilated my pupils and check them after dilation The first two times they got my prescriptions Incorrect and the color of my lenses The third visit again they dilated my pupils even though I asked them to put in the records not to dilate my pupils before the exam they still dilated my pupils and then wanted me to pay a second time after they checked me and I needed to go back for another exam because my vision is different when my pupils are dilated. The doctor would not even get on the phone to discuss this with me. The doctor would not even get on the phone so needless to say I did not bother going back but I did find out from the doctor I went to outside of optical outlet, They are never supposed to dilate your pupils before they do your eye exam and have you read far and near. So before you go just know that they are guilty of malpractice when it comes to checking your vision. The people that work there are very nice that's why I gave this two stars. read more

She was friendly and helpful and found me the lowest possible price. I was in and out in an hour. I have been there before and it took about 3 hours from start to finish. Very bad customer services. I took my daughter for exams and contact lenses. They told me it would take one and a half week to be ready. I had to call after 20 days. They didn't call me back at all. They didn't know how to explain what was happening. I called corporate to speak with the District Manager and he didn't know what was happening, either. They don't know how to deal with customers. Received no less than 6 emails and texts reminding me of my appt. and what I had to do. All insurance was verified prior to the visit. I get there and they ask if I am self pay? No, we have insurance. Well the Insurance will not pay as the last exam was in February. The last exam was a doctor you sent me to. Now there is no prescription for new glasses unless I self pay. So, with all your instructions was that just a plot to make money and abuse a senior citizen. You had several communications with me, yet you waited for me to get there so you could take advantage of a senior citizen. In this day and age to bring a senior citizen to your very crowded establishment was total stupidity on your part. No one was 6 feet apart. I noticed no chairs being cleaned after people got up. I have aphakia from a cataract surgery, which means I have no lenses in my eyes. People with aphakia need an aphakic glasses lense, also known as an anticular lens. Dispute examination and confirming my aphakia, Optical Outlets neglected to make an aphakic lens not once, not twice, but three times. I couldn't see out of the glasses they made due to this. Too bad, so sad they told me. They refused to do anything after the third pair of incorrectly made glasses and proceeded to bill my insurance for glasses I couldn't see out of, preventing me from getting glasses for a year. I can't work or even leave my home without glasses. I'm legally blind and glasses normally cost me around $400. I have never had any trouble with other optometrists making them. The Optical Outlets staff either deliberately scammed me or are not qualified to do their job. I have yet to meet any other optemitrist who couldn't make an anticular lense. At the very least, they could have told me from the beginning if it was something they couldn't do. read more

Going to this place was the worst mistake I've made in my life and the biggest waste of my time I have ever committed. I have a 15 yr old grandson that lives with me and this is a provider for healthy kids and other government contracts I'm sure . I took a vacation day from work and pulled him out of school because he desperately needs new glasses . I made the appointment for 940 am thinking he would only miss a couple of classes I left my house at 830 giving me plenty time to arrive the clerk or whatever her title is gave me bad directions telling me they were by target they were across the street I called them again for directions I was across the street and it was 4 minutes before the appointment. I arrive they give me paper work to fill out. and I'm still sitting there till 1130 my grandson was getting upset about the classes he was missing so asked them when would he be seen .? SHE proceeded to say in front of a full waiting lobby "oh well, you were 5 minutes late your now considered a walk in the doctor won't see him till her lunch hour she attempted to humuliate me in front of the crowd when my being late was her fault in the first place she didn't have the decency to tell me that my lowly status had changed from an appointment to a WALK in. just allowing me to sit there as if she had the secret of punishing me for my tardiness . At one point they took my grandson into what looked like a break room to do some kind of test and they became irritated with him when he couldn't open his eyes wide enough for their machine to get a reading because of his long eyelashes a physical impairment.he has no control over. in my opinion it also seemed a little odd that people of other colors were made to wait longer then others just an observation I made. I wouldn't take my dog there much less my kid. In my opinion they deserve to lose there government contract where they are over charging the taxpayers knowing that there are few other options for providers that take the insurance programs .I don't see how they sleep at night with they way they treat people. read more

And it seems like they have been waiting awhile. The lady that attended to me was friendly and warm. She didn't rush me even I was taking a while to pick something. Had my annual diabetic eye exam and discovered that I needed new glasses. Glasses were sent to me? Had to make an appt to have them fitted. After several days I noticed that my far-off vision was not sharp, kind of fuzzy. I waited for several days to see if I just needed to get used to the new glasses. I soon made another appt to have them check out. Went in on a Saturday and explained to the assistant what the problem was. She looked something up and her computer and said that they were the correct prescription. I asked her can't you put them on a machine and make sure. She said, "Oh the Dr would have to do that. Made another appt to see the Dr. At that appt while seeing the Dr he had me read from the wall about 12ft away with both my old pair and the new pair. I read fine with the old pair but with the new pair I told him that some of the letters were a bit fuzzy. He check his notes and said that he could make a small adjustment but it wouldn't make much of a difference. I asked him if he could check them out on a machine and he said: "Oh they do that out front". I said: "Oh I guess then I just have a spare pair of glasses". In which he replied, "Yeah I guess". Front staff does not acknowledge you when you enter the store and the optometrist the day of my appointment did not even introduced himself .
