We have used the store for many years and given them a lot of business through frames, eye exams, new lenses and then doing them again when our prescriptions change. So far, our experiences have been very positive, but recently we spent a lot of money there, and when we went to pick up the glasses, they just handed them to us without so much as a case. I have some extras at home, but I remember that the cases they provided in the past have been nice. So I went back and explained that this was bothersome to me, and given the amount we spent, it seemed like a small ask. They explained that since we didn't buy the frame there, even though that particular redo cost over $1,200 (yes, very expensive) they don't give a case. I explained that this was a unique situation where the original case was lost as were the glasses that precipitated us coming in. It didn't matter to them, so I walked out and will not be going back. Which is a shame because we like the Doctor and both the people that are front of house. Oh well. Penny wise and pound foolish. The case probably cost them $20 max, but now we will just move our business up the street to someone who values our business. read more

Shopping for glasses is at the top of my list of things I hate most to do. On a whim today, we stopped by Optics Soho. And boy am I glad I did! I was quickly and warmly greeted by Allison and Neil and told I could help myself to look around and try on frames. I had walked almost the whole store when Emmanuel, the optician emerged. He could tell this was not something I enjoyed. He offered to help select some frames, which I graciously accepted. He asked a few questions about what I liked and didn't like and then presented me with a tray of options. One of which was EXACTLY the frame I had described to my husband I would want if I was designing my own- tortoise at the top of the frame and pink at the bottom. It was like they were made for me. We had shopped all the chain value priced eyewear stores thinking those would deliver the best value. In the end, because this shop took our eye insurance, I also purchased them for well below the low cost eyewear. I could not be happier with the staff, the care they took, and the selection Optics Soho offered. They have a new customer for life! I'll post pics when the final pair arrives. read more

I've seen Dr. Billig since I first needed glasses over 15 years ago. There has always been this modern, upscale aesthetic with their white mannequins hanging from the ceiling. There also is always some live concert playing on the TV with cool oldies or soft rock playing. I instantly remember Queen playing there multiple times. The staff is so friendly. We almost always dealt with Scott for years (who is still there) but their needs have grown, and there are several new faces that are all a welcome addition to the experience here - including the addition of another optometrist, who is awesome! I had to visit other optometrists for a couple years due to insurance changes and haven't been comfortable wearing contacts in years. My prescription was never quite right, and she nailed it. I just got my new prescription and forgot how much I love wearing contacts until now. Dr. Billig is fantastic, and the reason my dad continued having me come here even when our insurance changed. I still remember one time when I was young that I had some sort of emergency, and after hours he was willing to leave some family affair to come to the office. We didn't want to interrupt his family time and did something else but truly appreciate the extra effort and the urgency he placed on my situation, which I can't remember what it was for the life of me. He is such a friendly guy and is very thorough in explaining things. Their technology keeps growing with new electronic medical record systems and special eye scanning equipment, and I love that they don't stay with outdated technology. As long as I'm in the Tampa area, this is where I'll be going for all my vision needs! read more

Dr. Cooper was the the best doctor I have had look at my eyes! I have a rare eye disease called Adie's Tonic Pupil. Most of the time I feel rushed in and out during my exams at other offices. Dr. Copper actually made me feel confident that she examined the health of my eyes. Emmanuel and Lindsay were very helpful finding me the perfect glasses! Great customer service, from the time you check in to the time you see the doctor. Allie, the technician, is so friendly, and Doctor Cooper takes her time talking to you about the health of your eyes and options for corrections. Doctor Cooper is knowledgeable and takes the time to explain what's going on with your eyes, unlike other optometrists I have seen that rush you through with vague explanations. Easy to make an appointment, parking right beside and behind the building and no wait time when I walked in. Friendly greeting when I walked in, was promptly taken to an exam room and was in and out in about 30 minutes including dilation. Dr. Cooper was pleasant and knowledgeable and answered all my questions patiently. They also have plenty of stylish frames if you are looking or you can purchase contacts lenses. Location was convenient and easy to find. I appreciate them fitting both myself and my husband in before the end of the year on fairly short notice so We can use our benefits ! I have needed glasses since I was 40yo. Due to a somewhat complicated prescription I have used several types of bifocals. Many felt too heavy or would pinch my bridge or be too tight behind the ears giving me a low grade headache that would last all day. I have had three pairs of eyeglasses from Optics Soho, each one better than the last. I decided for day to day to get the lightest titanium glasses made with Lindbergh frames. Wow....they felt like a feather with very thin lenses and super sharp vision! My latest pair were recommended sunglasses from Costa. They are the first wraparound bifocal sunglasses I've ever been able to find and purchase as the technology has advanced so much in the past few years. Extremely clear and so easy on they eyes in the brightest sunlight. These are not cheap but anyone who has ever had diminished vision in the past look no further. Crystal clear vision with very light lenses and stylish frames are worth every penny. I've mainly dealt with the manager (wears glasses) and the guy who manages the front desk (no glasses). I don't know their names but I will stopping in soon to thank them for their service and their recommendations have been spot on! read more

The lens selection is a little limited, and the outer area staff is a little pushy with the frame selection, etc. I think they would say, "Oh sure, these look GREAT on you" no matter which ones you put on - I get it, they're sales people, but a little more authenticity would be nice. I had to get some frames readjusted after a few months, and they were very nice and helpful about it. read more

Through the years I always come back to Soho, living in a new town makes no difference. I usually see Dr. Billig , today I had the pleasure to meet Dr.Cooper, and am so happy I did! Chance took the time to find a great pair of new eye ware for my husband and I and Dr. Cooper sent me home with a pair of contacts to try out! The optometrists seem very experienced and the store has a nice selection of high quality merchandise. Unfortunately the technician was really unprofessional and kept getting simple orders confused. The first interaction there was favorable and the sales staff very pleasant. The second interaction was a disaster and the tech kept speaking as though he was a doctor. When i asked to speak with the optometrist I was told they were "in surgery". The third interaction was again a poor experience (for the same reason). I really didn't mind that the prices were somewhat high-I was willing to pay for the higher end frames, but i did not get any itemized receipts. Although the optometrists were very nice- the tech was really better suited for a backroom duties. Wouldn't return until there is staff turnover. sharon c. read more

He fixed for me my two Lindberg eyeglass frames which I tried to fix them many times in many places around me from Clearwater to St.Pete and NO ONE can adjust or fix them as he did. To drive all the way to their place in Tampa worth it. Thanks a million Chance for everything including the new and free nose pads. Excellent Doctor at the Riverview location. I am a little up set about some glasses I purchased over one year ago. I called the their office and was told there was nothing they could do because the glasses was purchased over a year ago. They were expensive frames and have already been replaced once because they were defective. The glasses are doing the same thing. I called the manufacture and they said it's up to the retailer and manufacture rep. The office advised me they were going to call the rep and give me a call back. Nothing to date. I feel this is poor customer service for a long time customer. These frame are consider more high end but I am not treated on the high end level. I am very disappointed and would like for the Doctor in Riverview to know this information. I am a loyal customer and feel I don't deserve this treatment. read more
