I had never used a moving company before and was quite afraid of being scammed or having my furniture damaged. After researching top rated/reviewed moving companies on Yelp I contacted 4 companies for quotes. Two companies quoted me over the phone after I listed my items, one did a facetime walk through and Bert from Optimum actually came to my house to see it in person. Bert was friendly and professional. I liked the personal touch when he asked the names of my children to identify the items that belonged in each room. He explained the moving process, timeframe and the steps they take to protect the furniture. He answered all my questions and gave me confidence that Optimum was a solid option. I received his estimate by email the next morning and it was several hundred dollars less than their cheapest competitor. Not only was it cheaper, it was a guaranteed flat rate as long as I did not add items on the day of the move. The other estimates I received were more expensive and left room for the costs to increase if their time estimate was wrong. I scheduled Optimum for the move with no deposit required other than a $250 credit card hold in the event that I cancelled within 7 days of the move. The day before the move Bert text me to confirm the crew's arrival time. The morning of the move I received a text from Jesus, the crew foreman, that they were on their way and the truck pulled in right on time. I led the three man crew through the house to show them the items and locations. From there they went to the truck to get their supplies and got to work disassembling, wrapping and boxing as necessary. They paid special attention to the fragile items and all of the moving blankets were clean, as was the interior of the truck. Jesus even offered to move a few small items at no additional cost that I had originally planned to move myself. Once they had the truck loaded up they met us at the new house. We walked them through and they went back to work putting everything where it belonged. Throughout the day Jesus kept us updated on their progress and made small talk as they worked. All three movers were polite, considerate and respectful of our home and belongings. My wife and I were totally satisfied with Optimum from start to finish. Nothing was damaged and everything was put where we asked, even a few items that we decided to switch around last minute. I would absolutely recommend Optimum to anyone needing a mover and will certainly use them again in the future. read more

What can I say that hasn't been already said? I recently had found optimum moving from a post card that came to my previous home. I figured, let's call them for an estimate, I have nothing to lose. I saw the reviews here and hoped for the best. Elvis came to give me my estimate. He was extremely helpful, and very quickly provided me my estimate which was easily the most competitive price. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Elvis was also later able to move my move-in date a few times with ample notice without a problem. Very easy to deal with and helpful. They moved me out of my townhouse and into storage, and then from storage into my new home. Both times , they were exceptional. They were on time, knowledgable, detailed, courteous, efficient, and careful with everything. They wrap everything, they box everything well. If you have any concerns, they take them seriously. On my move into my new home I was lucky enough to have Angelo as my foreman. Even though he was not the foreman that had packed my belongings, he might as well have been. I told him what my concerns were, and he followed through to make sure everything was done carefully. He made sure NOTHING scratched my brand new floors. Whatever I wanted done, he made sure it was so. All of a sudden, I realize it was 30 minutes before I had to go close out my storage unit. I had opened my large unit and left Angelo with his crew to load not one truck, but two, and went ahead of him to prepare the house for them. Little did I know, Angelo took care of it!!!!! I was in shock! He thought ahead and knew we would have a long day. We finished the day with an extremely large and heavy entertainment unit that had to be assembled. Angelo directed them and didn't leave a mark on any of the pieces or the floors. I would QUICKLY recommend both Angelo and Optimum Moving and use them again if we move ANY TIME in the future. I don't know where to start! Let me begin by saying...moving sucks! It's taken me a while to finally put pen-to-paper and get this onto Yelp, but here it is for all to see. OPTIMUM IS AWESOME!!!! I decided to get at least 3-4 quotes for my moving day. Some of them were pretty far apart. What I did noticed, though, was the quotes I got other than Optimum were by the hour - so what happens if the job takes longer than estimated by the moving company? You pay more, of course! I was on a limited moving budget so I couldn't take that chance. Not with Optimum. They give you a flat quote and that's it. Justin was extremely professional when he came to my home for the consultation. I decided to hire Optimum because I realized what an overwhelming job my move was going to be and I wanted a company that could handle the enormity of the move. I say enormous because I was moving from a 7 room, 2 car garage colonial home into a 6 room duplex apartment and the plan was to perform the move in 2 days. The first day was for wrapping up items and moving the bulk of my belongings into my storage unit. The second day was also for wrapping up items, then moving my remaining belongings into my apartment. Optimum handled my move at peak performance! The crew and the crew leader knew exactly what they were doing. The speed in which they professionally emptied a room was phenomenal. Before I knew it, they were out the door and strategically placing my belongings into the trucks. They wrapped up my furniture properly so none of it would be damaged in any way during either move. Moving can be really daunting, but with a newborn, a three year old, a spouse who is always working, a mother who now lives with you in a tiny apartment until you move, Elvis and the guys at Optimum Moving were like angels from heaven!!! I was so glad to find them. When we first met Elvis, he was so non-judgmental about the crazy state of my apartment, and made us feel really assured and less stressed about the upcoming move. He was super professional and easy going, so when I had to reschedule at first, he was totally understanding and we set the first visit out a couple days later. I really liked his flat rate guarantee, and he was great at getting right back to me whenever I had questions and called to finally confirm. I would say we were lucky to have such a great experience, but it really is those guys. They deserve all the credit. Kevin our mover was amazing, and also very easy going which helped ease my stress that day big time!! And the other two guys handled and disassembled with such care, they even helped me lift stuff as I packed a few last random things. One guy was do sweet to offer to box my pillows and bedsheets, when I was just going to throw them in my car (but it gave me room for other stuff, and I knew where our pillows and sheets were later!) Especially after today, because I have carpel tunnel, and my hands are in temporary braces, and I noticed a few boxes were misplaced in the basement, I called Elvis yesterday, and he sent over one of his guys today! We looked online for hours for movers until we came across Optimum Movers. We saw they had a 5 star Yelp review, which we had never seen before for movers - and let me tell you, they deserve it and more. Optimum Moving truly is 5 stars! Starting with Bert, who worked with me to secure a date and the quote, it was really a great experience. I was texting Bert with questions at all times and he was always responsive and patient. But anyone who has moved before knows that the crew is what matters. And we had an amazing one. Johan showed up with Luis and Alfonso promptly at 9 and right from the get go, set us at ease. They had a calm and friendly demeanor, worked with us to assess the job at hand and were upfront and clear about the process. Then they got to work: - they were incredibly efficient but took a great deal of effort to be super careful with our items. - None of our things were damaged - Both houses didn't have a scratch on them! - Let me repeat, it was AMAZING to watch them be so careful as if it were their own things and their own home - They were also very mindful of Covid precautions and always wore masks Overall, I can say, as someone who's been through many moves, that this was actually my first real stress free move. We moved from New Jersey to northern Delaware in April 2017. We called a number of movers to get estimates but Elvis was the only one who came to the house to look at what we were moving and explain how his company worked. At first we thought his price was high since we had gotten some lower quotes. What we realized pretty quickly was that other movers have hidden fees and the truck with all your stuff on it isn't always in the possession of the movers you hired. Optimum had absolutely no hidden costs. We paid exactly what he told us we would. Elvis told us that on the day of the move, his guys would come to our house about 10 AM. His people work every day so he likes them to have a decent rest period between jobs. Since we were driving 3 1/2 hours to Delaware and didn't want to get there too late in the day, we asked if they could come a bit earlier. Sure enough, 9:15 AM the truck rolled into our driveway. Let me tell you, Chris, Oscar, Walter and the moving manager, James really worked quickly and efficiently and our stuff was loaded and ready to go by 11:30. We felt good, too, knowing that the truck would never be away from the crew who had just loaded it. When we and the truck got to Delaware about 3:30 in the afternoon, it was quite warm. The crew, again, worked quickly and efficiently in the heat to unload and set up all our stuff. When they were finished they had to tidy up the truck and fold all the moving blankets before they head back to NJ. I certainly understand why Elvis wants them to have a decent rest between jobs. Hello sorry it took me this long to write this review ,but hey its better late than never!!! So after I hired a long distance moving company I had to hire a different company. the first company i hired asked me for a $600 deposit which I paid. Well 1 month before the move I tried contacting that company and to my surprise all 3 phone numbers I had were disconnected I started freaking out!!!! any how i went on Yelp just to find out they had horrible reviews(great) I started looking for a second company to do the job for me. Optimum had great reviews but even then I was scare cuz of my bad experience . I had nothing to loose since I didnt had to give a deposit!!! It was nerve wrecking because my husband was making the move from Pompton Lakes, NJ to California. I was sooooo scared his stuff was all going to get "lost" or damage . To the good part...... his stuff arrived a week earlier than what I was told!!! yaaaaay!!! The 2 guys started unloading all the boxes and gave me a check list and I started checking off the boxes one by one. EVERYTHING WAS THERE. They assembled all the furniture and they were super friendly. My representative was Justin. I did called him to let him know the great service we had received from his company and the delivery guys too!!! I've never written a detailed Yelp review before now (I know that's a red flag for a lot of fake accounts spamming positive reviews) but the service these guys provided truly deserved to be recognized. Delvon and his team are World Class, Top of the Line, A-One professionals. I'd given an updated quote to their home office that never made it to Delvon and his team when they showed up. I've gotta emphasize, the change from my initial list of items was THIRTY EXTRA BOXES and a SIX FLOOR WALKUP, which these guys hadn't been warned about. And yet, they could not have been more kind/courteous about the difference in expectations. Not only did they have me out of my old apartment in an hour and a half, they finished the job early and lowered the price I paid accordingly for the half hour saved. I watched one dude strap my 75 pound bookshelf on his back and walk it up six flights, unassisted. A ton of my items were delicate pieces, that I had haphazardly packed in a rush out the door. I'd expected a few things to be beaten up as a result of my own haste. Couldn't have been further from the actual outcome; every single box was treated like royal china, and my stuff arrived to the top floor in perfect condition. These guys treat everything with care and are in constant communication with you to ensure they're handling your items with proper caution. Seriously, these are the only moving company worth your time and cash, and it would be downright asinine to look anywhere else. If these guys are available, end your search with them. read more

First, I have never written a review on Yelp before. But I am so pleased with the extraordinary service I received I want to be sure to give Optimum Moving a 5 star review !! Justin (a co-owner) answered the phone when I first called and was very professional and very receptive to my questions. He was like that as well in two subsequent calls I had with him. He clearly understands the importance of customer service ! From talking with him I had a sense my move would be a good one --and it was !! The moving crew was outstanding !! I had items going to two different locations in two different states and they made sure there was no confusion about what was going there. Six --yes 6 --guys arrived at my house! They were just the best guys ! Professional, friendly--and extremely hard working !! My belongings were so carefully wrapped and boxed beautifully !! The foreman, Yaniv, did a stellar job being sure all was going well and that I was satisfied with how the move was proceeding. He dug right in there too with his INCREDIBLY hard working men : Thomas, Tyson, Mario, James, and Juan. I am in the midst of unpacking now and my things are in perfect condition and so carefully wrapped. These guys were just great ! They worked incredibly hard. And were just so nice and accommodating ! Optimum Moving was an exceptional moving company. The best moving company I have ever used. Justin came in to provide a professional and thorough estimate. He carefully took stock of all the items we would need to move. He correctly estimated the number of boxes we would have. He confirmed that the estimate was a guaranteed flat price and that we wouldn't be hit with an inflated price at the end of the move. He provided an emailed estimate with a complete list of all the items. He was true to his word and we paid the price we were estimated. As for the move, all the furniture was wrapped carefully. Anything that could be disassembled (crib, bed, etc) was professionally disassembled, wrapped and then reassembled. Everything was moved with the care and professionalism I have never seen from movers. These guys seemed to have done the impossible by getting our large freezer out of the basement and into the new basement. I didn't think it would fit but they made it happen. Even the large couches they had no trouble handling without removing any doors. Past movers have had to remove doors to accomplish the same thing. In the end there was no damage to anything and they took the time to make sure everything was where it was supposed to be. I would definitely recommend them. Extra shout out to Jose and his crew for doing such an amazing job. They were so friendly and nice. And like I said, they performed the impossible. Being in small business myself, I know how important good reviews are, and you have to work hard to get them, I buy and get the services from only businesses with good reviews, I needed the moving company, went on yelp, the first name was Optimum Moving, they had good reviews, called spoke to Justin, he was in my house in less than 1 hour, gave me one flat rate, and promised no surprises at the time of moving, moving date was 2 weeks, in between I called and text Justin a few times, he responded quickly. The moving day 5 guys crew showed up on time, before starting they asked my wife how and what she wants the things done! very professional crew! they loaded all the boxes first and disassembled the furniture later, packed very nicely and kept cleaning behind it, so no garbage left. We just followed the truck to the new house and again before unloading they asked where she wants what, and that's exactly the way they left all the boxes, and stated assembling the furniture. One drawer in my bar was not working properly, the guy called me explained me whats wrong and fixed it for me!! Before asking to sign and payment, they asked us to walk through the house and look one more time, if anything else needs done or moved, not for a second they rushed us or looked stressed!! This is the place you want to work with. Elvis, one of the owners, answered the phone and gave me a 15-minute education on how to pick a moving service. I've been calling places asking for quotes for a tentative long distance move, and Elvis was the first person to inform me that it's actually ILLEGAL in New Jersey and New York to give someone a quote over the phone or email without doing an on-site inspection. Color me surprised. I had no idea. All the other places were pushing me to give them a deposit over the phone and not one of them even discussed on-site inspections. Elvis went over my options with me and told me it'd be more affordable and faster (given my destination) if I hire a UHaul and drove it myself. Optimum could load everything up for me for $600 (versus the couple grand it'd cost for them to do the whole move). But quite frankly, Elvis said, given the small size of my apartment and the price we're tentatively looking at (which we'd need to confirm with an on-site inspection, of course), I'd spend less money just buying new furniture when I arrive. It's a breath of fresh air when a company wants to do right by you, even if it means dissuading you from hiring them altogether. I'll probably go the new furniture route but man, Optimum's done right by me and I haven't even hired them yet. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone planning a move. I am writing this review as Josh and his crew (Tyson and Thomas ) are wrapping up our job. These guys are nothing short of SPECTACULAR! For starters we called optimum one day before we needed to move. They set us up right away. The crew was supposed to arrive between 9am and 10am. Josh pulled up the truck into our drive way at 9Am on the dot ! I had severely underestimated how much stuff we had and the stuff ended being almost double to what the work was supposed to be. During the entire process not once did any one of the 3 guys complain or appear unhappy about the amount of stuff they we're dealing with. In fact they kept reassuring us that they would do everything they can to get it all done. And sure enough they did. They worked tirelessly for the entire 7 hours. No running the clock ( we were on a hourly flat rate ). No unnecessary breaks. In fact when asked if they wanted to take a break for lunch they said their priority was to get the job done first. These are the best movers you could ever ask for. They are honest hardworking timely and know their work. Every piece was wrapped perfectly and no furniture damage or wall damage. I could write a story about how good these guys are but bottom line is they are the best around and super reasonably priced. Moving is obviously incredibly stressful. After 11 years in the same place, I wasn't even sure where to start -- so of course I turn to google. Following an "inquiry" for quotes/estimates from moving companies I read the email from Optimum which LED with State regulations and required business practices of moving companies. Sold! I asked for an in home estimate and Justin walked me through the entire process along with what other companies -- from his own personal experience - may or may not do in terms of bait and switch in pricing. I changed my inventory twice the night before the move and it wasn't an issue at all. The team that moved me were damn near heroic. Jose was the team supervisor and he again walked me through the entire process as it was unfolding that day. AND IT WAS A BLISTERING HOT DAY, but with this team, you would have never known. They were great. It was myself and my 7 year old son and the guys were incredibly patient and friendly with him -- letting him "help" along the way. I may have made a rookie mistake of never attempting to get another quote after Justin provided me with their guaranteed price and I'm 100% perfectly ok with that. It was all worth the peace of mind in getting the job done right. My husband and I had to move from New Jersey to Massachusetts, and we were apprehensive about selecting a moving company to move our furniture and belongings. We had heard horror stories about moving companies losing items, charging hidden fees and causing damage to furniture. We were highly impressed with the timeliness and professionalism that was shown over the phone, even for me and my husband's last minute moving situation. On the day of, we were fortunate to have 3 movers who were kind, careful and efficient -- Chris, Johan, and Ceasar. They were incredible with the way they wrapped our furniture, carried our heaviest furniture (through tiny halls and up 3 flights of stairs) and disassembled & reassembled our items, with great care and speed! When my husband sat down to finalize the costs at the end of the day, he was so surprised that the cost that was stated over the phone was consistent with the cost that was being charged - there were no hidden fees, and no secret charges on the amount of wrap that was used & steps that were climbed. I have moved many times but this is the best moving company ever. I had very good experience beginning with Elvis (Yes, Elvis!!) who came to look at what we are moving and to give me estimate to Josh the Operations manager who also helps in packing and moving. The crew of four was amazing too. Josh put us at ease as soon as they arrived. I did not have to worry about anything once I showed Josh what has to be moved. They packed everything well taking care of furniture, mirrors, floor and walls. Not a scratch anywhere!! My delivery location was a difficult place to move into. Elevators were about 500 feet from where they parked the truck. But they did all the work with smile without any complaint. They unpacked everything and placed all the item in its place as I instructed. These company exceeded my expectation. They gave you price once and they never try to get into raising it. They are very reasonable. They are also very reliable. They came right on time. They called me when they were on their way. I have to move again in about 10 months. I am definitely use they again. They also provide service to haul-away junk which was very helpful. Price for haul-away was lowest that I found. Great owners, Josh and the crew. You do not need to call anyone. Let me explain: - Elvis, one of the owners, came out from New Jersey to Brooklyn on a day's notice to give a quote in person for a rush move (my wife and I had to relocate to Charlotte for work). Optimum's quote was almost 35% cheaper than others we saw online. - We ended up going with a dedicated truck option, which for a small increase in price, gave us peace of mind that our stuff wasn't getting handed off to a third party carrier - They go to great lengths to ensure your stuff is safe, secure and free of damage (we stored our stuff for 2 weeks with them). Everything was wrapped, boxes were new and they feature a bed bug-free guarantee (do research online and ask any movers about this - it's important!) - The moving team was on time for packing. They did the job in the allotted time, were professional and because we liked the team so much (ask for Brian and Mario - they're the best!!!), they sent those two down with our stuff on the delivery - Everything arrived safe and sound, and Mario is a pro at re-assembling furniture and getting everything ready for use Overall, we cannot recommend Optimum Moving more for a long-distance move.
