Absolute Worst Buying Experience of My Friend's Life She purchased a brand new RV for her 60th birthday, expecting it to be an exciting milestone. Instead, it turned into the most frustrating and disappointing buying experience she's ever had. She paid $140,000 for an RV that was delivered straight from the factory to Optimum RV in Bushnell Florida. You would think that kind of money would come with a certain level of quality and service--unfortunately, that was not the case. To start, the sales representative was great... right up until she signed the paperwork. After that, she was completely dropped. No follow-up, no support--nothing. The RV itself had numerous issues. Some were clearly quality control failures from the manufacturer, while others were simple fixes that should have been handled easily by the dealership. What makes this even worse is that the dealership had the RV for THREE WEEKS prior to her scheduled walkthrough and pickup appointment. When she arrived (one hour early), she was blamed for the issues not being resolved--as if showing up early somehow prevented them from fixing problems they had weeks to address. That excuse alone tells you everything you need to know about their accountability. The service advisor was patronizing, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Instead of working toward solutions, she was met with attitude and excuses. The general manager showed zero interest in making things right. Rather than standing behind their product and service, they wanted to charge her a service fee just to send someone out to fix problems that should have been resolved before delivery. Then they told her she would need to bring the RV back--and that it would likely take more than a day. Let me be clear: she LIVES in her RV full-time. She doesn't have a house to go back to. This was completely disregarded. In the end, she had to hire her own service technician, who is now dealing directly with the manufacturers because going through this dealership was a complete waste of time. We paid Optimum RV $224 to install a 7-pin connector, and they claimed it was installed properly but not working due to our truck. Gator Ford confirmed it was installed incorrectly and fixed it for $543.95. Optimum RV admitted their mistake but refused to reimburse us and offered only $100, which we did not accept. They also released our camper unsafe to tow--missing the trailer pin and chains--which could have caused serious injury. If this isn't resolved, we will have no choice but to pursue legal action read more

My daughter bought an RV from Optimum RV Bushnell about 2 months ago. Process was fine, the salesperson was friendly and we were happy with the purchase. They keep it there a week to do a 'thorough' inspection to make sure everything works etc. After picking it up, we took it out for its first trip. A/C went out the first night, we found a weird hole under the sink, there was some water damage, the door blind was broken & we were missing keys to the storage. Took it back to them the next week to fix these few things. They found nothing wrong with the A/C and charged us for basically switching it on, made sure it was blowing cold air and switched it off again, even though we'd told them that it had gone off after running a while. (also, within 30 days they shouldn't charge for doing any repairs). We took it home thinking everything was good, but found out when we got home the batteries were totally dead from service leaving them turned on. We tried to get the service tech to do something about this but trying to get hold of him was almost impossible. About 3 or 4 weeks later, my daughter & I drive up to Michigan with the RV as she's staying in it for work for the summer. The second week she's there a heat wave comes thorough so she turns the A/C on and the same thing happens. It goes out overnight. She gets someone to come out to look at it, and the entire unit underneath the cap is crushed! This should have been caught initially after we bought it, but definitely when we brought it back stating there was a problem with the A/C! The next day she calls Optimum RV to tell them what happened, and that they need to make things right and pay for a new A/C. The service manager called her a liar and said a unit as damaged as that would never run (it did run fully crushed) and that we did the damage and covered it up to try to get them to pay for it. We have insurance. If we did any damage to the unit it would have been MUCH easier to do an insurance claim than dealing with these idiots! Optimum RV is refusing to pay for a new unit as they said the damage was done by us. which is ridiculous as it was running (although not cooling) when the tech came to fix it. Warranty won't cover it because it's damage, not wear & tear. We have also had nothing from them to replace the batteries that they drained & ruined while they were meant to be fixing the A/C. A new unit is $2500+ and batteries alone are at least $400-$500. She's now heading into the hottest days of the summer with no A/C all because of their lack of care & laziness. Whoever had it before her crushed it, but put a new cap on to cover the damage before giving it to Optimum. I also tried calling the service manager and he was just as rude and dismissive to me. I asked him who the next person up was that I could talk to, and he said that because my daughter had posted a bad review, that the customer service people would now be handling the matter and it's out of their hands. She still hasn't heard from them almost 4 days later. The reason we went to the Bushnell location was because I'd had such an awful experience with the Ocala location, so now I know that they're all as bad as each other! Stay away from this place. DO NOT BUY HERE!!! RUN fast - go somewhere else where they actually care about the customers. We bought an RV from a very pushy salesman Stephen Fountain, who kept touting his performance as best salesman to us on 12/9/2024. We put down a $50,000 deposit and went through all the paperwork for the remaining balance. We were told we could have a walk through of the RV within 7-10 days as it had to go through inspection (joke). after 2 weeks with no word we asked why and was told they discovered a chip in the windshield that needed to be fixed so it would have to wait another week. When we went the next week the receptionist had no idea what we bought and said they had nothing on us (then promptly lied to my husband and said she never said that). After another half hour we got the walk thru and even the gentleman agreed the windshield had not been fixed and my husband discovered cracks in the sealant on the roof (not discovered during inspection???). When 1st payment came due we still had not received anything from the bank who financed us - I called them and they had never heard of us. Optimum NEVER even put it through and never told us either. Then they said the bank wanted more info, they had my husband's SS# wrong - finance manager not in, vm is full..... always an excuse and NOT friendly. As soon as Stephen sold us the RV he never spoke to us again and acted like he had never seen us.. they ALL do that... Who are you? Refresh my memory... 2 days after you were just there. They just pass the buck with their BS. Stan told my husband that if the financing did not go through by 1/6/2025 he would refund our money. So we went back for a 4th time as I called the bank again and still never heard of us - we asked for a cancellation of the sale due to their misrepresentation of the sale terms. They even signed the assignment box with name & address/phone of bank stating it was true. When I brought this up to one finance manager he said "No you cannot back out...we are still working on it" when they lied about returning our money so we asked to see the head manager as Stan said he was the only one who could make those decisions with the bank. But he wasn't in that day so we have to wait another day. I let him know I am heading to an attorney as this is very deceptive practice!!! Deceitful management. (Our salesperson was good) **GM & staff running hard credit pulls applied myself for a credit card with my authorization ** Upon leaving the store, I was advised by staff that I'd have a credit card arriving to my house within a few days, to which then I asked "Who authorized that?" And all 3 staff including the GM had nothing to say. I repeated my question 3-4 times due to how upset I was, because I advised my salesperson I did NOT need their forest river credit card for a down payment, as I'd use cash if needed. Julia Wireman was a life saver for us, getting us right into service and out the door in about an hour. Buyer Beware! I recently bought a fifth wheel from Optimum and was told that the service department would go over everything to make sure that it worked. The other day my wife wanted to make a meat loaf and, sure enough, the oven did not work. The next day I called service and complained to Hazen Pearson. He said that they do not have anybody who can come out and service this problem. His advice was to call the manufacturer and see what they can do. Now I'm out and have to get another RV tech to see what's wrong with the oven. This is total neglect on what they said their service department would do. They'll look at it if I bring it in. So now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, and I'll never recommend them or buy anything from them again. read more

By far the worst Customer Service ever! Commitment made on delivery and subsequently all 3 employees that were involved in agreement no longer work for dealership and we were basically called a liar by the General Manager Johnny Hernandez and the Sales Manager Bill Hansen. We purchased in good faith and felt they would follow thru and send the promised check of $1000. Sales Manager Bill Hansen said "why should I believe you when I have people coming out of the woodwork with claims of promises everyday" General RV has hands down the best follow thru and Customer Service. They are committed to being the leader in the industry. Unfortunately the specific RV and Model we wanted was only available at Optimum RV and we purchased online and thru Salesman via phone. We were given incorrect info on features and did not discover until we went to Florida to take delivery of RV. After visiting Optimum Rv in Ocala, where the sales managers were WAY TOO pushy on a unit we didn't love by making promises they couldn't fulfill, we decided to visit their Bushnell location. We were looking for something very specific and weren't willing to settle. The salesman at the Bushnell was super nice, non-pushy etc, as were the managers. BUT - they snuck a 3600.00 fee in to our contract for something we didn't order. ALSO - We have been waiting since November for repairs to be made to a brand new camper we purchased in October! They have had several staff changes, and their communication SUCKS! We haven't heard from the service manager in weeks, even after several calls and emails on our part. Purchased a used unit from them. Left it to be detailed and cleaned. Was called a few days later and told it was ready for pickup. Stopped by on our way through from Miami and picked it up. Got it home and realized they never attached a plate! Not even a temporary paper one. On top of that, they charged me a service fee which included cleaning. When we got it parked and opened and started setting it up we realized not only was it not cleaned or detailed as we were told it would be, but the grey and black water tanks were still full from the previous owners!! There is no recourse and no one will help you. My husband and I were so excited to buy a 2017 Thor Venetian m37. We worked with James and Cedrick and asked them to please be our eyes on the exterior paint We were driving 2600 miles EACH WAY in r RV that we were going to trade in to buy this coach. We FaceTimed James and Cedrick and knew there was a little bit of rust and also the front 2 captains chairs needed to be redone. James also pointed out in the rear by the taillights there was minimal paint damage and that was all the damage he could see. When we got there there was a 3 foot section of the body where a panel had been cut out replaced/rewelded and repainted with spot welds and butt welds highly visible, and baseball size damage on the passenger front bumper. After driving 2600 miles we were so bummed. James told us he didn't notice it when we asked him about it and then told Jamie (manager) It was evident in the videos he sent me. the only videos I received were of the rust in the storage compartments. They MISREPRESENTED the rig and then said sorry. I asked Jamie if they could please help us with the gas for r travels and she advised Chris T. (COO) and he said sorry there's nothing they can do. Bill H. the GM also said there's nothing they can do. It took us 8 days round trip 5200 additional miles on r rig and $2600 in fuel and we just got a Sorry. There nothing else to say. read more

She had to signed the back of a document to see if they would go back and lower the price. I asked why signing it, it's not a legal document, I don't understand if she sign it what it is, he stood up and said yeah that right it's not a big deal but your making it a big deal.
