I did so and I was there about an hour for them to fix it and I turned in my old phone. I thought everything was fine until I got my next bill. I clearly stated at the beginning of the call that I had limited time and needed the cancellation processed quickly. Despite this, the representative kept me on the phone for over 20 minutes, ignored my repeated reminders that I had an upcoming work meeting, and ultimately refused to complete the cancellation. She also stated she could not send any information by email, leaving me with no documentation or confirmation of anything discussed. I eventually had to hang up to attend my meeting, and my account remains active solely because the representative would not process a straightforward request. This is not an isolated inconvenience -- it reflects a broader pattern of Optimum's aggressive retention tactics, lack of respect for customers' time, and refusal to provide basic, transparent service. I am requesting immediate cancellation of my account without further delay, along with written confirmation and clear equipment return instructions. No customer should have to fight this hard to end a service they no longer wish to use.

The low level customer service and the way the company bilks customers is astounding. They claim to be giving you a five (5) year price lock. In my case, two months later they change the name of your promotion to Promotion for Life. They say that this means that only the taxes can go up if they do, but not the price for the service in my case, $40.00 with $5.66 in taxes for a total of $45.66. Do not be fooled. All their promotions, regardless of names, can be renamed and repriced at any time. They actively promote Autobilling, which means they take the money directly out of your bank account each month. It is not worth getting a $5 reduction to have these crooks get access to your bank account. Once you provide them with your bank account number, they can help themselves to any amount. Prices with Astound change at the drop of a hat. They do this by claiming that your plan's name was changed. What this means is that they hiked the price. Am actively going to see if I can find a better deal elsewhere. These people are nasty and only interested in bilking customers. These are seasoned scam artists.

I texted the customer support # and within minutes got an answer, and shortly thereafter our down/up speeds were back to normal. Only later to find out we never actually spoke to the real person . Either someone is monitoring our phone calls or this is an internal issue. We have asked to have this escalated to no avail. We have been the victim of spoofing and our number being spoofed on multiple occasions. We don't trust anyone coming into the home. Who would know to call and use the name of an actual employee? We are getting dropped calls. call back feature not working, and a loud blaring horn noise in the middle of conversations. No one is taking this serious,yet the bills keep coming. This has been going on over a year now/ We have reached out to our local congressman,Phil Ramos, Rep Jorge Guadon,and the local Sherriff, for internet crimes. Why is no one doing anything about this.
