She also stated she could not send any information by email, leaving me with no documentation or confirmation of anything discussed. I eventually had to hang up to attend my meeting, and my account remains active solely because the representative would not process a straightforward request. This is not an isolated inconvenience -- it reflects a broader pattern of Optimum's aggressive retention tactics, lack of respect for customers' time, and refusal to provide basic, transparent service. They say that this means that only the taxes can go up if they do, but not the price for the service in my case, $40.00 with $5.66 in taxes for a total of $45.66. Do not be fooled. All their promotions, regardless of names, can be renamed and repriced at any time. They actively promote Autobilling, which means they take the money directly out of your bank account each month. It is not worth getting a $5 reduction to have these crooks get access to your bank account. Once you provide them with your bank account number, they can help themselves to any amount. Prices with Astound change at the drop of a hat. They do this by claiming that your plan's name was changed. What this means is that they hiked the price. Am actively going to see if I can find a better deal elsewhere. These people are nasty and only interested in bilking customers. These are seasoned scam artists.
