Nice ambience and cozy salon! They provide drinks, wine, water and coffee! My stylist Daniel is amazing, im asian with dark hair he turned my hair into blond perfectly without damage.. turns out it's not what i wanted and he was courteous enough to redo it and darken it with no extra charge. I got a couple nice hair cuts there. The stylist I had was a pretty older woman with bangs and fit. She was friendly and made me feel comfortable. All I remember was being shocked she was a grandma and that I had an enjoyable time. They serve champagne sometimes and it's just a nice vibe. She offered to cut may bangs for free if I came in but I never took her up on it because I decided to grow them out. There was no particular reason I stopped going there. One of the weirdest and WORST salon experiences of my life! I had my second appointment at Opulent this holiday season. My appointment was at 7:30am and shortly after starting my appointment (color was already applied) another client came in with a dog that whined and barked the whole time. Then the salon lost all hot water so the water was literally freezing cold for my shampoo. It was so chaotic that I just wanted to get out of there so I did not even notice that the hairdresser FORGOT to cut my hair before drying & styling it. When I got home & realized she did not cut it I called the salon and she said she realized she forgot to cut it and asked if I wanted to come back for the cut. I live about 40 minutes from the salon so I could not go back until the next day. Upon arriving for the cut the next day I fully expected an apology and an offer of a discount on future services or something to make it right. However, the hairdresser continued to make jokes about how funny it was that she forgot to cut my hair and even commented on how bad my appointment was due to the dog and the cold water. Unbelievable! People do not value other people's time or business any more. Very disappointing. I will NOT recommend this salon to anyone. read more

She really listened to me as I described my hair goals and even asked questions to make sure we were on the same page. Finding hair and makeup stylists for the big day was the hardest part of wedding planning for me! I only have many bad and negative things about this hairdresser. It's not spa like they say because they only offered me hairdressing service. The hairdresser who treated me is a very rude Russian lady, she did not want to take care of me because according to her I had lice and a lot of dandruff. I humiliate myself like never before in my life, I want to tell you that I only had a treatment to moisturize my hair. Never in my life have I had that kind of problem in my hair. I attended that hairdresser because I am only 4 minutes from my house and I stay next to the gym that I attend is hairdresser they have nothing of education and they make me think that they only did it because I am a foreigner but I want to clarify that the senorita is as foreign as me. read more

I only go to this salon because Jane Hulsey is there. She is the best in the business. I started going to her over 6 years ago and then I moved up both to the Bay Area. I have tried countless other people to handle my blonde hair and no one has ever even come close. Not only does she do the best blonde in all the state but she is fast and very reasonably priced. I keep telling her she should charge more for the quality she provides. I now drive 3.5 hours every couple of months just to get my hair done. Hands down she is the best I have ever met. She is well worth the drive and provides excellent customer service on top of everything else! In over 6 years I have not one single complaint and will continue to go to her until she stops doing hair, no matter the distance. The customer service was terrible. I called needing an emergency single-color dye. My hair now has three colors and there wasn't enough time to fix it before I traveled the next morning. When I called to express my concern about the color(s) I was told, "Well... I guess you could come back...". The woman who was working on my hair spent the majority of her time complaining about the job to another employee and mentioned often that she needed to get home to her daughter. I think the fact that English is my second language made her feel comfortable enough to complain about me in front of me. I understand the importance of family but don't accept a client if you're simply going to rush the job to get back to your personal schedule. It was far too expensive ($200!) for the shoddy work. A glass of wine and some hair dye does not a beauty salon make. P.S. Why do hair salons nowadays only hire heavily tattooed purple/pink/blue haired women? I always go to this salon to do my highlights, Misty and Vanessa are great, I never had any problems since I started coming here. But today I stopped by to purchase shu urmura hair oil that Vanessa recommended and the girl on the reception desk her name is Azur was absolutely not friendly. I asked her couple questions about the product and she answered with such an attitude and absolutely no desire to help. She never even looked at me since she was busy with something, while I was the only customer in the salon. It was 8 o'clock in the morning.I asked her to give me some samples and I felt like I am bagging for something. They have a sign out in front trying to sell you a gift card - don't do it. I was given a gift card of a substantial amount. I called to make an appointment for a massage and facial. I have driven all the way over twice to be told 1) 'oh we must have had a miscommunication because we don't have an appt for you' - I wouldn't have driven over if I didn't have one & 2) so they made another appt only for me to drive (25 miles) again to tell me the person I had an appt with is no longer there! Mandy does a great job she's super friendly and I love my hair style!! However, for the working, single mom, with no family in town, who only has weekend time to get her hair cut; the no kids allowed policy is rediculous and discriminatory. I get some people don't take care of their kids and their kids are unruly; this is not the case with everyone. You are really singling out working single parents with no weekend child care thus not allowing equal access to all. I have referred many people to opulent, going forward I will hold my tongue in doing so. read more

Rachel Darrah!! Wow! To have this caliber of expertise and experience with Rachel is astounding! I have very long red hair with a 6 month grown out Balyage! I was afraid to go anywhere because I figured no one would be able to do what I wanted and I would be terrified of the results. Rachel did the work of what a whole team of stylists would do! I have never had anyone able to do exactly what I asked for!! Above and beyond brilliant! Saturday, I visited Opulent for the first time. It is amazing! I loved everything about this Spa. I love the pedicure chairs and can envision a girls "Spa Day". Paige gave me an amazing facial. I am thrilled to see my favorite skincare line Skin Ceuticals. They make the best sunscreen I have ever used and my dermatologist recommended it. This place has terrible customer service. My mom and sister (who live in Wisconsin) purchased a gift card for me and were told that I could walk in and pick it up. It took over 30 minutes to find the gift card. I asked if they could put the money back on the credit card that was used to purchase it and spoke to someone on the phone (manager) and all she kept saying is that it isn't their policy to return gift cards. She kept saying it says that on the receipt. I don't have a receipt and it doesn't say that on their gift card. I wasn't asking for more than the amount - I just wanted to return it. I don't care about their policy. What they don't have at this place is customer service and that person I spoke to on the phone didn't give a crap about why I wanted to return the gift card - only to keep telling me about their policy. She was rude and I am NOT happy. They should really make this right. Just angry. read more

After 5 years of dark brown box dye, I was ready for a change and I knew it would be a long process given my hair is down to my waist and very thick! ....so I scheduled an appointment with Mandy Mason at Opulent Salon to slowly start going back to blonde.... I knew I was in for an adventure... because blonde from dark brown doesn't come easy...not only that, but good hair isn't cheap, and cheap hair isn't good! She is very reasonable for the work and attention to detail she puts in! Little did I know how even my color would be and how meticulous Mandy was about application AND I didn't have to sacrifice any of my length to get some beautiful blonde woven in to my VERY thick, VERY dark brown! Not only did she do a great job, but I left with my hair in beautiful and BETTER condition -despite stripping out, and then toning years of crappy box dye.
