The prices were similar. I chose National Concrete based upon Brian La Fuente and his honest and straight forward approach. The project consisted of demo an existing wood fence and build a 219 linear feet cinder block wall with Orco split face blocks. The National Concrete team for my project was 3 highly skilled and very efficient craftsmen. I was amazed at the fast pace of the work for only three guys. They did not take short cuts. The crew worked straight through on the job. In the end it took four weeks to complete the fence including all city inspections. I think the work quality was top notch. Brian La Fuente and the guys at National Concrete were reliable and a pleasure to work with. Brian and the crew were always respectful and very responsive to my requests during the project. I appreciate this very much, as I waited for months beyond the original start date with another contractor who seems popular on Yelp, yet ended up being told to find someone else cuz he was too busy. Several months were wasted and everything got more expensive at that point. Brian is very responsive and thorough. He has very high standards for himself as well as the team. Whenever you raise a concern, he'll deal with it instantly and deliver results. He really means it when he says he wants everything perfect. One of the metal surfaces to be painted didn't react well to the material we originally chose as a covering. Nico came back with a few solutions as to how it could be remedied and the results with the new material came out better than what we originally planned for. From the start, his whole entire team was thorough, attentive, customer service-oriented, and neat/clean. After many years of research, I finally decided 2024 is the year I'm going to get my white kitchen. Before I hired Paintura, I had gotten about 10 different quotes. I learned a lot about paint and I was also equally confused as to who I should hire. A lot of contractors seemed nice, some seemed more knowledgeable than others, some were plain expensive and out of my budget. Nevertheless, I was tired of getting quotes and decided that Friday was going to be my last appointments and I was going to make a decision that weekend. I had an appointment with the owner of Paintura (Nico) on Friday and right before our appointment, he texted me to let me know he had gotten a flat. Knowing he was traveling from Costa Mesa to Eastvale, I thought immediately he wasn't going to come. To my surprise, he showed up an hour later than the scheduled time but he still came, despite of the circumstances. Immediately, I had a good feeling about him. Nico seemed knowledgeable and friendly, and out of all the painting contractors I had met, he was the only one who brought a measuring tape and actually took measurements (!!) He said this was to ensure he didn't under or over charge me. He answered all my questions and I was also happy to hear that he was going to use Centurion 2k paint (if you don't know what this is, please check it out, it's the best paint!) He gave me a quote that was more than reasonable (no, it wasn't the cheapest but it was very reasonable if you take into account the cost of 2k paint). Because of a previous bad experience with a contractor, I made sure I looked over the contract and had him reflect changes on the contract that we had discussed in person. He was patient with me and made sure I was comfortable with the contract. I also got a discount because I was willing to wait 3 weeks. While I waited, Nico connected me with a designer from Sherwin Williams, and I had fun picking out my colors with the designer's help (I decided on doing white on the cabinets and gray on the island) Last week, Nico and his crew came out and repainted my kitchen cabinets. His crew Bailey, Martin and Oscar were courteous and respectful while inside my home and they worked efficiently to get the job done. Even though it was inconvenient to not have my kitchen for about a week, I appreciated the fact that they carefully covered and masked the area, so there wasn't too much dust. They also cleaned up before they left, so there wasn't too much I had to clean up, besides the usual vacuuming and mopping of the countertops. Throughout the process, I was always able to reach Nico via text or phone calls - I didn't feel like I was just a number to them. Now that the work is done, I'm amazed how much bigger my kitchen looks. Nico and crew are true professionals - I'm satisfied with the result. 10/10 will recommend! Then, I got a slab leak. No choice but to do something. I have two bathrooms. At the time, they could have been on "world's worst bathrooms"; hideous 1970's "décor" with disco lighting and stained, pattern linoleum flooring. The shower stall had a plastic, accordion-style door with magnets on each end (who DOES that?!). I figured, whatever a contractor does, can't be worse. Then, I found Zachi of S & B Construction on yelp. Best thing I ever did for my home was to call Zachi. My house and my quality of enjoyment of it, and my view of what a contractor can be, have completely and utterly changed. I could tell from the moment he came over to do the bid he was great, and he only exceeded all my expectations throughout the job. He and his team completely gutted both baths, and now I have two bathrooms that are essentially luxury hotel baths. They are beautifully done (everyone says so!). He put in stone tile showers (with glass accent tile - it's so awesome!), a deep soaking tub, custom glass shower doors, stone floors, wood vanities with granite countertops, and custom lighting. They're bright and colorful (that's my taste!), and it makes me happy just to enter the rooms. The job was done from start to finish in three weeks. Yes, that fast! That included Zachi arranging for the plumbing inspections and everything. We never had to worry about any of it! Zachi was there every step of the way, from design (he met up with us to buy the materials - it was great!) to finishing touches, and we could not have done it without him. Actually, his intuition is terrific, because he even had some better ideas than we did! I liked all the workers on his team. They were polite and courteous, very hard working, and always on time. Zachi was constantly supervising their progress, as well as always available and responsive to questions. Here's what I'm certain of. Zachi wants the customer to be happy. I asked lots of questions and wanted specific things. I only ever had to ask for something once; Zachi ALWAYS remembered without my reminding him of things and always got them done! Even things I just mentioned once during the bid got done. This is important, too. He always left us with a "usable" house during the renovation. Although he did both baths, he staggered the demolition and renovation, so we always had the basic facilities. At night and especially on weekends, he'd make sure the house was cleaned up enough for us to do what we needed. Budget? The job was done to the budget on the nose (I went over by a few hundred, because I picked out an extra accent tile), even though things happened (e.g., the plumber had to put in an access panel for one of the showers). The budget was extremely detailed (way more than any others we had been given), so you knew exactly what to expect. Amazing! On a personal level, Zachi is smart, super nice and pleasant to work with. I can't thank Zachi enough. Bad day at work, I head to my gorgeous soaking tub, the world falls away and aaaahhhhh! Can't beat that. I love my house. Actually, it's more of a home now. He was fast and professional and in and out of my house 3 times within 3 days in total and both sets of shower sliding doors are now fixed. I first called them to replace my door since they were listed under Handyman, but upon meeting his son Sam, I asked them if they did remodeling and turns out Stan is a licensed contractor. Stan was very informative and knows his stuff. He came on time every day and worked very quickly to get our project done. We needed a load bearing wall removed and he was very knowledgeable. He explained exactly how our home worked and what his plans were to remove the wall. He completed the project on time and we are having him come back to install French Doors instead of our sliding door. His prices are very reasonable and when you look up his contractor license number, it comes up active. Do not hesitate to contact them for remodel jobs. They are very friendly and he was even willing to let me borrow his tools to complete my own projects!! I have attached pictures of before and after. Thank you Stan and Sam!
