Magic
Andy P.

Recently toured this operation prior to our sampling. Their operation is so precise and methodical. Some of their tools are very unique and if I remember correctly, they are the only two vineyards in Napa that have such tools to process. Staff, Cory, is knowledgeable and provided an in-depth overview on the history, wine, and vintage aging process. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is beautiful decor with a brutalist flare, almost like a James Bond evil villain lair which is pretty cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the barrel room. Picture doesn't do its justice. You'll need to tour and see for yourself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Wine is amazing. Love the 2012 vintage of Opus One. Can't wait to visit this vineyard again.

What an amazing experience!! Caleb, our guide was such a friendly presence with so much knowledge and experience in the wine industry! Our group couldn't stop talking about how wonderful he was, how delicious each wine we tasted along with the food pairing that were presented. We can't wait to come back! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Side not the front entrance was not open as they are having work done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]From the outside, the property is underwhelming and looks like a Costco warehouse.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]To be fair, construction on the front entrance was still underway when we visited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is designed to feel like a luxury hotel. It's clean, uncluttered, and filled with high quality materials.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The tour was lovely and ended with a tasting. While Opus One is not one of our favorites, it's a nice experience once. As any wine lover knows, it's a very personal experience and taste. What one loves, another doesn't.

Came here August 2025 for my birthday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was construction going on and unfortunately all the olive trees that made an impressive entrance pathway had been cleared out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was excellent. We were promptly checked in with a glass of champagne to welcome us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were brought up to the beautifully decorated, ornate tasting area with an indoor and outdoor area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We chose to be indoors because of the very warm weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did the wine and small plates pairing. There was a menu tastefully printed with descriptions of all the fresh ingredients. The food was truly art. We were given a poetry hand out that was biodegradable with wildflower seeds embedded to plant later in the spring. How special! Looking forward to visiting again!

Caleb, I will see you soon.. I've been working out. I was attempting to do 40 awesome things/bucket list things before 40 in the last year of my 30s and going wine tasting in Napa was one of them.. so I just knew that if i was going to do it for the first time, I would have to do it with my all time favorite wine ever.. Opus One. They sure know how to welcome you in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place gives off a very elegant, majestic type of vibe to it. Huge walls, none of those cheesy souvenirs or random decor. The place is quiet, peaceful and allows you to just savor the wine, I get goosebumps just thinking about it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sure it's costly but you are getting to taste some of the most delicious wines ever. Our host Caleb was superb. He had a great sense of humor while also being professional. He was informative and also allowed us to have our fun. If you have non drinkers, which is totally fine! they will still have to pay a small fee to be able to join the group. But don't worry, you will get some snacks (their cookie/biscuits were DELICIOUS!) as well as some tea. We had the 2010, 2014 and 2017 tasting as well as Overture. I had hoped that I would be able to purchase a full glass/pour of my favorite after the tasting but unfortunately that was not the case which is why I ended up deducting a star.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I cannot talk about how stunning this winery is!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had the best sommelier as well, he was so knowledgeable. The wine was so delicious, which we expected especially for the price. Very pricey option but completely worth every single penny. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front was under construction but regardless, coming through from the back with the complimentary champagne was still a nice experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I hate to say...living off of reputation....[[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is under construction which takes away from the elegance[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ( I was there years ago) The tasting is limited to 3 wines 2019,2021, 2021 overturn. Good wines but the place gets busy and you are on your own for the most part....no real food for a tasting..bread sticks...Really?

The wine was absolutely fantastic! My wine educator, Mark, was very knowledgeable and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While I was there, the property was under construction and the landscaping was being done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did feel that the price of admission should've been adjusted to reflect the atmosphere, but the wine was worth it.

Expensive yet iconic wine tasting in Napa Valley Honestly, my expectations weren't high from reading poor reviews about service and overall experience. But Opus One is a bucket list winery and a one-and-done visit, but I had a memorable time there during the holidays. The walk around tour was short but our host let us take our time to take photos. The property is beautiful and the wines are quality. The tasting includes 3 pours but we were given a couple extra tastes!

What an incredible experience. If you are in the Napa valley region don't miss this staple. I have always heard of Opus One but never tried it due to its prices in the restaurants where I see it offered. So I was very exited to finally try it. When I booked the tour I didn't expect it to just be me and the guide so that was a lovely surprise. I was greeted at the entrance with a glass of champagne while I waited for my tour guide. He quickly arrived and we started. He was very knowledgeable about the entire process and the history of the brand. After the tour we sat down in the beautiful tasting room and I had the chance to try three different vintages. Accompanying the drinks were three lovely bites designed by a Michelin star chef. They were incredible!! Overall the whole experience was fantastic and ended up buying a bottle to take home with me. Beautiful grounds and very friendly staff. Incredible experience!

Tansy W.

The wine here really isn't good. They added a chef, which I was excited for, but the bites paired with our wine also were not good. I will say the property is gorgeous - they made some additions to the building that are beautiful - but not worth the price given the not great food and wine. Sadly disappointed and won't be returning.

James H.

World class service with phenomenal old world class wine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What I like most here is the venue and amazing acoustics.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pricey but worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I appreciate them not leaving the gate always open.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommended!

I will be going in the Fall and the person with me is a non drinker. Will he be allowed into the tasting to sit with me?

Yes, of course. For guests opting out of the wine portion of their experience, an experience-specific fee will apply. Our Reservations team can assist with these accommodations prior to the tasting, please email them at assistance@opusonewinery.com.…

Can I purchase single glass tasting without reservations?

Nope! And you need reservations quite a bit out in advance

About how long does the courtyard tasting take? I'm trying to make lunch reservations about 20 minutes away from the winery and don't want to feel rushed! TIA :)

It took us 2 hours to spend time there including the tour inside & all the waiting

It's a beautiful grounds and a great tour, and would highly recommend, specially since it comes with a snack at the end. We were able to do half and half pepperoni and mushroom pizza, and the tots were crispy, crunchy and hot. Easy check-in with a welcome drink and friendly service once seated. I am a white wine connoisseur because of my dietary restrictions with most ingredients in red wines, especially cherries and plum, that trigger my stomach pain and headaches. I have missed enjoying red wine because of this. I was hoping and praying that when my friends who are members of PEJU planned this wine tasting treat, that my stomach and head would be fine and to my surprise, my palate, tongue, stomach and heart were pleased with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Fifty/Fifty, and more, including reserve reds Todd served and educated us about! I have NEVER enjoyed red wines like these I tasted at PEJU. Since the time of our outstanding wine tasting experience, I have recommended and raved about Todd and PEJU winery to friends and family who appreciate and value high quality wines and winery experiences. It felt like a vacation getaway being in the tasting room building, admiring the breathtaking stained glass art, all of the art inside and the beautiful art and nature views outside. I appreciate the PEJU staff and management team who welcomed us and were kind to us all the way to the end of our wine tasting experience when we left. This is the kind of treatment that makes us want to return. Napa is a special place for friends, family, and me, and PEJU is now an indelible memory in my Napa adventures! Todd clearly enjoys his important professional position, is passionate about wine and the wine experience, and brings so much joy to customers! I can't recommend him and PEJU enough! Todd went above and beyond to give us a VIP experience and even gave me a bag full of wine corks for my art project after I told him about this and asked for some of their wine corks we saw lined up in their wine uncorking and pouring area. Thank you, Todd!

Easy to find, beautiful from the road in, and exactly what you picture when you think Napa. The whites and reds are all worth trying. Each one tastes distinct, and the flagship bottles run $44 to $125, so not cheap, but fair for wines this good. Membership is the real draw. Members get full tastings plus a food menu for themselves and two guests, which we lean on every time we pick up wine. The grounds are stunning. Plenty of tables across the property, including quiet, secluded spots for a real conversation. The member experience runs about 1.5 hours, which is plenty. The food held up too. Tomato arancini with basil aioli, bruschetta, roasted olives, marcona almonds, hummus with crispy pita, sourdough with oil and balsamic. The arancini was the best bite of the spread, crisp outside, creamy in the middle, with the basil aioli pulling it together. Staff have been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful on every visit. A few notes: tastings cap around 6 to 8 per party, specialty experiences like the Cambium vertical are discounted for members rather than free, and your membership carries over to their sister property, St. Francis in Sonoma.
