The picture I saw were very interesting, so I showed my kids. We agreed to give this place a try, as we usually stick to hotels and motels when we visit LA. All I can say is WOW!! The place was a beautiful, tropical wonderland. It was well kept, fun and I felt like I was in a tropical island somewhere. Cheri and her daughter Regina were friendly add very helpful. They even gave my kids toys from the toy barrel they have in the office! If you have kids, travel with your pets, and are into adventure ( and want something way more fun than a motel) I would give this place a try! We loved it and plan on coming back!

We stayed for 4 nights with 2 Tibetan Spaniels. My overall impression is that this is an Airbnb that was ahead of it's time. It's too boutique and not meant to compete with the large chains. Compared with Airbnbs, I would rate this a 4-5; compared to pet friendly motel/hotel chains, I would rate this a 2-3 as there is no daily housekeeping or onsite services. Cheri is very helpful and accommodating. The décor in the Loft unit is entertainment industry, with memorabilia of singers and entertainers. She has strict house rules and procedures to self check-in/check-out, which are on par with Airbnbs. The Loft and Hacienda units have private and safe outdoor areas for pets, with drought landscaping. Cheri has a dog, to be sure, and she is very pet loving, but this is a pet friendly 'hotel' and if Cheri's dog isn't barking, other dogs might be if at all. If some of the other reviewers expected onsite concierge, housekeeping that's a phone call away, they should have looked elsewhere and quite frankly, their reviews reveal this mismatch. It's unfair and a disservice to blame a provider for a client's missed expectations. The only issue I had was that you can hear everything said or done in the other unit. I'm not sure this is because the door adjoining the two units (Hacienda and Loft) was a single door on top of a tile floor, but it was an annoyance. Everything else is Airbnb standard, such as the refrigerator, microwave, toaster, K-cup and drip coffee makers, hot plate, tableware and silverware, TV and free wifi. The keypad locks would be wifi-enabled in some Airbnbs, however, and this isn't a tech haven overloaded with digital cameras. Great privacy, good on street parking, awesome location, attentive host, and the pet friendliness is a bonus! I will return if I need a pet friendly hotel in the Valley. I would feel safe leaving my pets in my bungalow/cottage without me, as there wouldn't be any housekeeping or other onsite staff opening the door on them. Think Airbnb and not chain motel/hotel.

In Ultimate Host, we have found a property manager that allows us to do this, worry-free, and satisfies all of our requirements. It is obvious that they care about us, our home, and our neighbors: Yuri and Julio respond immediately to all of our questions and comments, and Ultimate Host's policies ensure that our home and neighborhood are cared for while we are gone. It is also obvious that they care about the guests: they respond immediately to the guests, are clear and thorough with all of their instructions and explanations, and when an issue arises, they handle it immediately. One of our guests couldn't find the hairdryer in our house and Yuri had a brand new one delivered to the house in 10 minutes! Unbelievable! We have had property managers in the past who did one thing or another well - either they communicated well with guests but not with us (not okay if you are a homeowner who is at a distance from your home!) or they communicated well with us but not with guests - but Ultimate-Host is the whole package. Their fees are well worth it and still reasonable. They use a dynamic pricing system to ensure that you are getting a competitive rate for your home and they are highly professional. We also felt their cleaners did an incredible job keeping the house spotless and shiny. The whole team is incredibly hardworking. We will continue to use them happily and cannot recommend them highly enough!

Truly awful initial phone interaction…read more I called as part of a search for a new property manager for a home I list on Airbnb, and the woman who answered the phone tried to interrogate me about my personal details and for other information to enter into their lead tracking database, refusing to put me through to someone who could answer my questions until I told her everything she wanted to know. This is the kind of thing that one gets when calling a big tech company for support, and I always find it off-putting. You have to put up with it when your computer crashes, but it is totally inappropriate for a services company. When I eventually declined to keep answering questions, she said that she would "try to find a property manager to speak with me", then came back on the line and said that because I was unwilling to provide my contact information, the property manager was not interested in speaking with me. There is a kind of vendor who puts the customer first, and the kind who is obviously putting their own secondary needs (i.e. to collect marketing data) before building a relationship with the customer. These people are the second kind, and that suggests strongly to me that it would not be safe to entrust one's home to them. They just read as more interested in having their own needs filled than in even seeming as though the customer's needs are a priority.
