I booked Vanguard through Fieldtrip for my birthday getaway, hoping for a relaxing weekend and some quiet time before my friends arrived. The home itself is beautiful, and the design and location were exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not match the premium price. Upon arrival, I experienced issues accessing the property because the access information wasn't available. After spending time with customer support, I ultimately resolved the issue myself. Once inside, I found several cleanliness issues, including pet hair/dander on the couch and inside cabinets, sticky and dirty surfaces, and other areas that had clearly been overlooked. Myself and some of my guests have pet allergies, so this was more than just a cosmetic concern. I also noticed debris, dirt, bugs, lizards in the pool/spa area. Granted it's the desert, but they could have did a much better job prior to my arrival to have things more presentable To Fieldtrip's credit, they did respond to my messages and sent staff to the property. However, someone had to come out every day of my stay, and I still spent part of my vacation cleaning the home myself. Instead of relaxing, I found myself documenting issues, coordinating with staff, and preparing the home before my guests arrived. After the stay, Guest Relations contacted me and I was asked whether I preferred a refund or travel credit and was told management would review my case and call me back. I said I prefer a refund and a 1 day travel credit if possible. That call never came. I later received a generic text denying any refund to travel credit. And still after requesting that the matter be escalated to management, I have received no response. I understand that unexpected issues can happen with any property. What disappointed me most was not that problems occurred, but that the overall experience fell short of what I expected for a stay costing over $3,300, and the concerns were ultimately not addressed. I hope Fieldtrip improves its quality control before guest arrivals and provides stronger follow-through when issues are documented during a stay. read more

This stay was extremely disappointing and did not match the advertised luxury level. We stayed at the Sand house and specifically asked in advance if the house would be clean and fully prepared, and we were assured it would be. Instead, we arrived to a dirty and poorly maintained home: dusty floors, stained furniture, cloudy shower glass, curtains off the hooks, a cockroach in the kitchen, stained pool lounge furniture, a filthy umbrella dripping liquid, and flickering/shorting pool and outdoor shower lights. Charging a cleaning fee while failing to provide a clean home before check-in is unacceptable. Offering cleaning during our stay was not a real solution, especially while we were on vacation celebrating our anniversary. I requested a partial refund and was told someone would contact me, but no one followed up. This felt misleading, unprofessional, and very disrespectful to guests. read more

One of the worst rental experiences I've ever had on Airbnb. Don't be fooled by the photos--if anything goes wrong, expect extremely poor and unreasonable customer service. Do not rent any of their Joshua Tree properties during the winter. The risk is simply too high. When we arrived on New Year's Eve, the electricity was out for five hours (which we understood was out of their control), but it shut off again the next morning. On top of that, there was an active ceiling leak dripping water while using the restroom. Things only got worse. For most of the remainder of our stay, the water heater was completely out--no hot showers in freezing temperatures. The hot tub, which we were charged an extra fee to use, didn't work either due to the water heater issue. The dryer was also broken. These issues essentially ruined my fiancée's trip and our close friend's birthday celebration. The most disappointing part, however, was their complete lack of empathy or professionalism when trying to resolve the situation. Communicating with them was exhausting and emotionally draining. It's hard to justify paying in full for a "luxury" property when there was no hot water for nearly two days, intermittent power outages, active leaks, and paid amenities that didn't function as advertised. They eventually issued a standard 30% refund, but considering legitimate issues affected more than two-thirds of our stay, it felt insufficient and unfair. We didn't expect a full refund--only a reasonable, prorated adjustment for the hours the home and amenities were unusable. It took multiple calls, emails, and documentation just to get a response, and even then, they showed no interest in making a fair compromise. If this is how they treat guests when serious problems arise, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are plenty of better options out there. Ask yourself if you want to risk being stranded in the middle of nowhere dealing with a company like this when things go wrong. I certainly won't again. read more

I've been using Fieldtrip hospitality services for a couple of time within the last 12 months and I'd like to share my experience. My family and my friends love going to Palm Springs and Yucca Valley to celebrate our special occasions. I'm happy I discovered this company. They have multiple locations and the properties are very modern and beautifully designed. The houses have all the possible amenities and well equipped. We've just come back from the property called Moasis in Joshua Tree. The neighborhood was really quiet with no properties close by. The house was really beautiful with unusual interior design and pretty dining area and stunning views in the sunset . We loved hanging out on the hammocks under the stars!!! I should also mention that the team is quick to respond and help out!!! The beds were very clean and comfortable. Bathroom , laundry and kitchen were fully stocked with necessary supplies. We stayed at the Suncrest property in Joshua Tree over the holidays and the whole experience was amazing! It was dark out when we arrived, but they had the beautiful mood lighting and welcoming music playing for us upon arrival, leading us into the home. The house was gorgeous and fully stocked with everything we could need for everyday and vacation essentials. They have a handy app that tells you everything you need to know about the house and hot tub/pool. It was fun to spend some time in the spa then do a cold plunge into the pool. The beds were comfy and there is plenty of lounge space inside and out and a fun game room we spent a lot of time in. The bathrooms/shower were beautiful and luxurious feeling. Lots of good books scattered throughout the house, including local ones. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Ryan, our local concierge was great and quickly helped with any questions we had and making sure we had everything we needed. The whole experience with Fieldtrip was top notch and we'll definitely be booking with them again! read more

For the area, it is one of the most beautiful modern homes. The place is extremely spacious, has a wonderful pool and Jacuzzi, big bedrooms with very comfortable beds, and a very fun game room with a video game console with all the best games of the past in one unit. We had a little trouble checking in due to the lock on the door, but the host was very responsive ensuring that we got it resolved quickly. The living room is large with a huge television and a very comfy seating area. My partner and I loved the property. When we come back, we will always look to see if this property is available for rental as it is perfect for our taste. The house is 10 minutes from the entrance of Joshua tree making it very easy to plan a trip to that area. Our dog Zoey had an amazing time also. Such a fun trip!! read more

Beautiful home, but the power went out in half of it for half of our stay. We already had them out to fix the alarms beeping so we just dealt with it. After the trip, when we reached out, we were just told we should have brought it up then and they did nothing, not even apologize. There was also an awful stench in the sink we had to deep clean.
