March as in 3 months? WTF--are you kidding me. Of course I get on YELP and see everyone else is having the same issue. I don't know why you'd do a coupon and then treat potential first time customer like chopped liver. Wow, where do I begin. This place is very, very gross. Dirty chairs, dirty equipment, dirty massage area. Upon leaving, I found 2 bites on my scalp. I'm praying they aren't bed bugs. The foot bath was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. It was a dirty bucket with luke warm water lined with a hefty garbage bag. I had to sit there for 30 minutes while listening to headphones of the dr doing his sales pitch. THIS IS A SCAM. Also, paper thin walls, not relaxing at all. I bought a groupon online for 60-minute massage and a 30-minute acupuncture appointment. It was my first time ever receiving acupuncture, and I had a great experience. Dr. Jay Kim was very good about helping me localize my pain and using acupuncture to relieve it. I noticed instant changes in my pain level. He and his wife/assistant are attentive, kind, and left me with some helpful tips for stretching and proper lifting techniques. Dr. Kausler is great! I have been getting cold laser for almost a year now, and my arms feel wonderful. I am out of pain almost all the time now, and it is incredible! Dr. Kausler is the best! I would recommend him to anyone. I injured my wrists and forearms typing on the computer and mousing, twenty years ago. I was told the soft tissue damage was permanent and that there was nothing anyone could do. For years I just put up with the pain. Massage was one of the worst I've ever received...and the ionic foot bath...well let me just say I tried it because it was part of the coupon... The therapist was ok, but I just felt like she didn't want to be there. She wasn't very gentle or soothing, which is what I expect and have received from all previous therapists. I mean she was nice, just not...good. The doctor was nice. The receptionists, however, need some serious training in professionalism and customer service. They weren't mean, but definitely not professional. Somehow, Orange Coast Chiropractic managed to rub me the wrong way. I consider myself a pretty big science geek with an open mind towards alternative medicine. Like pharmacists, chiropractors are their own special type of doctor. I respect that. What I do not respect is someone telling me that drugs don't work that pharmaceutical companies just make medications to scam innocent people. If you're going to make a bold statement like that, don't make it to a pharmacy student... When he said that vaccinations are a bit hoax and just a scam for money, I politely brought up small pox, polio... diseases that would have wiped out millions of people if it wasn't for the discovery of a vaccine. He continued to undermine the basis of pharmaceuticals and I have to say, I was a bit offended and shocked by his ignorance towards western medicine. I tried to change the subject by asking about the science behind an ionic foot bath and his explanation about low pH, high pH and the mechanism behind the detox made no sense. My massage therapist was great, foot detox was cool to try but I would not come back here, not even if it was free! read more

So after finally getting an appointment, they cancelled the first, then finally rescheduled, I went and waited, and waited. They took someone who got there after me because she was a "regular patient" and was told I would be seen "momentarily" on several occasions, when I asked about it being a 30 minute appointment and someone was taken before me. After waiting 30mins, I finally asked to be rescheduled, as I came on my lunch hour and did not have all day to sit there. The receptionist attempted to apologize to me for "being rude" to me based on my yelp comments, but said she was just handling too many calls. Apologies don't come with excuses. I basically had to tell her that she was still rude and wasn't on the phone. She must have missed that day in school on proper etiquette. Then after rescheduling, I get a phone call the day of to tell me that my appointment was cancelled indefinitely while they handled scheduling issues on their end. Then on the day of my appointment I get a call as to why I didn't show up to my appointment. After all of this, I emailed GroupOn and got a refund! I would never walk into this place again even if I was paid! They are the worst establishment I have ever encountered! read more

I have long avoided Groupon offers where massage is located in a chiropractor's office and there's a reason for that, one that I experienced today - HEAVY HANDED SALES PRESSURE and not just for chiropractic services but for everything they offer. The Groupon I purchased was for a foot bath, acupuncture, and massage - 2 hours total. What it wasn't supposed to include was chiding, harassment, gimmicks, or embarrassment but that's exactly what I got. First was the foot toxins bath or "ion foot cleanse" where they put a device in the water with your feet and it churns out a goop, produced from whatever that machine churns with the water that looks seemingly clear (didn't see what was added and don't know the contents of the device). It takes a while but in 30 minutes you have what looks like a sludge bath your feet are in. One chiropractor walked by and said "dirty dirty", while I suffered their audio of incoherent English grammatical errors and improperly formed verb conjugations followed by a whole slew of advertisements by the idiot in my ears. I bet you if I left my feet out that the water would be just as soupy and wouldn't have stained my clothing (the doctor dried my feet with paper towels - real professional). Mind you that I was researching this on the web and you can too to find "ion-cleanse-or-ion-scam". Note that if a chiropractor asks if you see one of his witch doctor colleagues say "YES!" and think of the one next to your office (we have one and I know his name) otherwise you will get berated with attacks about how you should and compared to going to a dentist for teeth cleaning versus seeing a chiropractor for spinal health. WTF?? Next I had the acupuncture and was told that she was working on someone else even though my appointment was right after the sludge bath. Fortunately the other witch doctor was wrong and my acupuncture appointment went quite well. However, it too was filled with sales pressure but not as intensely as the western guys (I guess there is a difference between eastern and western techniques). I have my massage after Hanukwanzmis but I am wondering if I should even bother. read more

I went here to use a Groupon for a 1 hr. massage and an Ionic Foot Soak that was about to expire. I was intrigued about the foot soak. The massage therapist that I was appointed to had called in sick so I ended up just having the Ionic Foot Soak. I've never tried this before but it was very cool. You place your feet in a tub of water with part of the machine that releases bubbles and ionizes the water. They give you headphones so you can listen to the Dr. explain how the procedure works. The purpose is pull out toxins from different parts of the body. You can actually see the water change colors. There a chart right next to you that explains about the toxins and what the colors represent. It turns out that the girl at the front desk was mourning the death of her dad and decided to allow me to use my full Groupon another visit. The foot soak was free! That experience was cool. This place is located within a small business complex right off the freeway. The entry and exit way is a bit tricky. So I've yet to use my full Groupon experience......until next time! read more

After a couple of months of eagerly awaiting my massage appointment, and reading the not so stellar reviews on yelp, I had mixed reactions when I walked into the doors of Orange Coast Chiropractic Group. Fortunately, most of the yelpers based their reviews on the receptionist alone, and not the services rendered. I was surprisingly impressed with my entire experience today! After walking in, Dr. Cunningham greeted me, had me fill out some forms, and set up the ionic foot bath for me. He chatted with me and the other couple of clients and seemed genuinely interested in what we do and what we were looking for in today's massage. After about 30 minutes, my masseuse, Kendra, called me in and gave me a GREAT massage! I wish I had told her to focus more on my back since that is my major problem area, but that's my fault not hers. Dr. C also gave me a certificate that I can use for exam & xrays, just not the services rendered (aka massage/adjustment). I just might take him up on the offer! read more

Before I start my review, I have to comment about expired vouchers. Look...it's expired and really, it's your fault that you didn't keep track of them. And you're lucky that they even tried to semi-honor it. They really don't need to accomodate you and maybe now, you'll be more aware of the expiration dates. Geez... As for my review, I have to say that I was very skeptical at first. The Living Social price was WAY too cheap and the facilities aren't easy on the eyes. BUT, it was the best massage I have ever had hands down. I never fall asleep but I was finding myself doing that with Jessica. She gets in there - seriously, I feel cheated from all the "deep tissue" massages I had before. The chiropractor chatted with me afterwards and even got off the phone just to talk to me. Wow! Like most reviewers, I got the Groupon deal for 1 hr massage, 30 min ionic foot bath, and 30 min acupuncture for $35. Great price! Though I had the HARDEST time getting an appointment because the foot bath and massage were scheduled on one day, the acupuncture on another and the first appointment they had to rescheduled once and the second appointment was not recorded in their books at first, then had to be rescheduled two times. Granted, there were some family emergencies among the acupuncturist, so things like that cannot be avoided, but it was pretty chaotic scheduling. They still honored the Groupon deal though even after the expiration since it was due to all the rescheduling. The ionic foot bath was interesting and my first time trying it - you listen to a recording from the doctor as your feet soak that is interesting/hoaky/sales pitch all in one. There's even a part of the recording where he quotes prices for package deals and says that not all deals can be as good as the Groupon deals because they have to oay to keep their doors open but that they'll give you a decent deal. The doctor then came and talked to me about coming in for future back pains and the services that they could provide and that he would give me a gift card for a certain amount if I came back and/or referred people. No thanks. The junk that came out of my feet was cool though! The massage was nice. Not the strongest massage I've had, but good for the price and very relaxing, incorporated some aromatherapy, and my masseuse was super nice and not sales pitchy at all. I even asked her how much people typically tip because I wasn't sure what the cost of a pre-deal massage was, and she said it's completely up to the customer, which I thought was very nice and professional. Of note, I thought the other masseuse in the office didn't seem as professional and didn't seem to want to be there. The acupuncture was short and sweet (also my first time trying it) and very relaxing. The doctor was good and explained what he was doing and how everything worked. He too gave me a coupon at the end for discount to come back. Overall, it's a good deal for the price, but you get what you pay for and I got a hint of a 'quack medicine' vibe from all the sales pitchiness. Maybe because I'm ignorant about holistic medicine, but it was interesting to try and learn more about it. I don't think I'd get another Groupon deal again for it though. read more

Bought the Group-On. Had no problem getting in for the time I wanted. Found the reception staff was very helpful and nice. BUT this is a chiropractor's office NOT a SPA ~ be careful if you purchase this package, there is no "reflexology". The chiropractor knocked on the door of my massage room 20 minutes into the massage, he was LOOKING for an office item the therapist used prior to my appointment ~ Thumbs down! There is something mystical AND even spiritual about getting good massage IF your into massage I recommend that You go to a full SPA massage service or you will be disappointed. The foot thing was not what I expected; again this is not spa services but wellness center which is fine. I will skip the Acupuncture. I haven't actually used this service. I bought a special through groupon and have had my first experience with the receptionist. I was trying to book two appts at once and ended up booking out to the end of July and the receptionist recommended we only book part of the package that was purchased. I do not have an issue with this. I do however have an issue with this receptionist who is very unprofessional and rude. My friend and I were actually trying to figure out which days we could go because they were so far out in advance and the receptionist showed little patience. At one point we chose a date and I was writing it down when she said, "Hello-o-o-o." in a condescending way. (think of the bully from Back to the Future saying Hello-o-o-o? Is anybody home?) I did not deserve that. I told her I was writing down the times and she told me she was only telling what she had available and I told her I was trying to make an appointment. I hope in July, when we go, I have better news to share. So far, just with a telephone call, we have started off on the wrong foot. But, who knows? Maybe when we go it will be something really nice to write about, or maybe I will be requesting a refund. CASH Chiropractic Customer says "Stay away..." 1. The Chiropractic equipment is OLD! They need to replace all of the "Disco era" equipment with state of the art equipment... 2. Avoid the temptation of paying in advance unless you know what you are doing! If you do pay in advance: A) Make sure you read all of the fine print in the Contract. It's not a "Win-Win" Contract and their Contracts only benefit Orange Coast Chiropractic Group. B) Make sure that you document (in writing) EVERY visit because you may come out on the short end due to their "creative accounting" methods and "Ghost" visits that you never made... 3. Be prepared to wait... I was rarely seen without a (15-30 min.) wait of some sort. I don't know if it's poor Management, poor business practices, or poor time Management. Nonetheless, give yourself a lot of wiggle-room as you plan the rest of the day... 4. Take your time and read all of the reviews on Orange Coast Chiropractic Group. I have to agree with the last reviewer. I bought two groupons for this place, one for myself and one for my wife. My wife originally called to book appointments, and after being treated very poorly, called me to see if I could get a better response. Needless to say, the lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude. After she answered the phone, I said "Hi, I just bought your groupon and wanted to set up an appointment", at which point she literally said nothing for about 45 seconds. I thought she had hung up so I said, "hello", to which she responded in a snappy voice, "HOLD ON, Im looking at our calendar. I was a little blown away by that as she had said anything since she answered the phone. She obviously had difficulty squeezing me in even a month out, which I totally understand considering there were probably a ton of people calling in for their groupons too, but when I asked if she could check to see if there were any openings even in May or June she said "Maybe you should check your calender and see when you can fit us into your schedule." She flat out refused to see if she could schedule me for a weekend spot even two to three months out. Finally she informs me that she might be able to squeeze me in around 5pm on a weekday, which I say is great, and that I just need to call my wife to confirm. At that point I said, "thanks for your help, Ill call you back in just a minute," and before I could finish the sentence she just hung up on me. I called back after talking to my wife, and after getting the same initial attitude from this lady, she informs me that she can only get us in at 3pm and 4pm, and not 5pm like she had previously said. I asked her why it changed, and she said nothing. I began to tell her that I would have to call her back, and again she hung up on me before I practically got a word out. This place is no joke a "Cattle Call" like the previous reviewer said, and the staff is incredibly rude. I mean seriously, even if you are taking a bunch of calls, how hard is it to just be pleasant on the phone. I would avoid this place like the plague. Had an AWESOME massage done by ... Rachel? But similar to a review before, I was taken in 15 minutes after the hour and the massage ended 57 minutes into the hour. I was shorted more than 15 minutes but in that 45 minutes it was amazing. She gave me the option of full body or just concentrate on my problem areas, shoulders & back and that's what she did. It was WAY better than any massage I've had at a spa. Loved it. I'd be back to visit her if I can get a full hour. The other portion of my groupon, the accupuncture, was canceled I guess because they were between accupuncturists but when I called in today to reschedule they got me down quick. The massage therapist was great and friendly and the staff was all warm and welcoming. This is a very down to earth business where the staff all seem to be friends. They only have a couple of massage rooms so I'm guessing they fill up pretty quickly on the weekends. Be flexible with your time and they will work hard to get you in. read more

This office seemed pretty busy when I went, and it did seem like a lot of people were there. If you are looking for an appointment, make sure to schedule one right away. I scheduled mine 3 weeks in advance. I used a LivingSocial voucher for my 1hr massage and ionic foot bath. My massage was pretty good. I had Raul as my massage therapist. He was attentive to the amount of pressure I was looking for and focused on my back like I wanted. I really enjoyed the massage strokes he used, which were relaxing and really addressed the knots in my back. I got an ionic foot bath with my massage. I didn't really feel like it did much for me. And the doctor said that my water residue stuff wasn't bad at all. I think the main reason for my 3 star rating was the fact that I could clearly hear everyone outside the massage room talking during my massage. Everyone was really friendly though. I'd definitely give 4 stars for the massage alone. Bottom line- I don't think I would pay full price for a massage. I bought a coupon through Living Social and tried to make an appointment., but with no luck. I called and was told that there are no appointments available until at LEAST late February. I didn't have a preference as to time or date, but was told that every therapist was 100% booked until then which I find difficult to believe. I get massages often, and have never had to wait over 2 months for any appointment anywhere. I wrote them an email and they never responded. I think the downfall of Orange Coast may have been running so many groupon deals and living social deals all at once. I actually had a fantastic experience especially since I am one of those last minute people who decide that I want to use my groupon in the last month. I used the online scheduling application for the acupuncture appointment, and the receptionist called me back within 3 days to schedule an appointment. She was actually really nice and could squeeze me in for the massage that day (which I totally needed). The office itself was really busy with repeat clients and me (the new one!) and the receptionist was just as friendly. I got a massage from Jazmine and she was amazing. I was definitely stressed out by work and the knots in my shoulders were especially difficult. She was also really sweet and I really enjoyed talking with her. I also did the foot bath thing, and there was a tape thing regarding the ionic foot bath which did feel a little bit like a sales pitch, but after looking at the water and seeing the "stuff" that is coming out that totally grossed me out (and the boyfriend who I was giving a real time update), I don't think I'll ever do an ionic footbath ever again. I have my acupuncture treatment coming up so hopefully it will be as good as the other experiences I've had. Dr.Kausler is incredible. My lower back goes "out" 1-3 times a year, and when it does I am almost completely incapacitated & laid up at home. Well, yesterday was one of those 1-3 times a year, so I had to come see him. The problem is I moved out to Temecula (65 miles away) last year so I looked for a new Chiropractor out here close to home. I saw that Dr. earlier today and after which I left unsatisfied and was still hurting badly, so I said screw it and made the commute to see Dr.Kausler. As always he made room for me and a same day appointment after lunch. Here I am, after 20 minutes with Dr.K and I feel great again.. don't get me wrong, I am still a little sore but I am 1000x better. I have to admit that after the first experience with the staff over the phone, I was tempted to just cancel the appointment and get a refund from LivingSocial. But I was curious, and wanted to find out for myself, so I charged ahead. Half expecting to be humiliated by the staff for being a "coupon-carrying customer", I was in for a pleasant surprise. I have to commend Dr. Kausler for his authentic attempt at running his practice à la Web 2.0. It's not easy being a healthcare provider and a good business person at the same time. But I can see that he is really trying. My therapist, Twyla, was fantastic and I am giving her a ***** stars (that's five stars, folks!). Dr. Kausler was there to introduce us to the Bionic Foot Therapy. It was an interesting experience, even though I am not convinced of its health value. As there is only one chance to make a first impression, I would like Yelp! to know that this first impression of Dr. Kausler's office was a GOOD one. HORRIBLE!!! SHUT THEM DOWN. WORSE DOCTORS EVER. Had an appointment today for 6:30. Took off work early and drove an hour to get here for no one to be there. No one answered the phones. I am so extremely upset. I have waited for months for my insurance to approve a visit and the day comes and they don't even have the decency to call and tell me they arnt there. Sounds like I'm not the only one that had a bad experience with this place. I also bought the voucher from Screamin Daily Deals for the massage and ionic foot bath. I called a few days after my purchase so that I could schedule the appointment. The guy who answered the phone was very unprofessional and asked me to call back because he was busy, this happened several times, and it took me a couple of days to actually be able to talk to someone that could schedule my appointment. The first available evening appointment was a month and half away, but that the weekend appointments were reserved for "clients." So what about potential clients?? He did also mention how many vouchers they sold, and were clearly overwhelmed and not staffed or educated enough to handle the extra business. SO, my appointment date was today. I called first thing this morning to see if I could reschedule my appointment because getting there by 5pm would be tough. The ghetto girl who answered the phone first said in a very condescending voice, "you are calling NOW to cancel?" I explained the time crunch and that I would like reschedule, she went on to tell me that I could not reschedule without 24 hours notice and that it "wouldn't be the same number." Which after several questions on my end, I realized meant they would charge me the full price of the services if I rescheduled. She said it was better to be late than to cancel, so I told her I would do my best to get there by 5pm. By 5:10 it was clear that I was stuck in traffic, I called them and a much nicer (coherent) woman told me that it was okay, that she would tell the massage therapist to wait. I arrived at exactly 5:30, and as the nice receptionist told me that my appointment may be cut short because of my tardiness, some older man, ;leaning over the counter (who I assume was the Chiropractor) cut her off and said that "she" had already left because she thought I wasn't coming. I explained that I had just called and was told to come in anyway, and he said that she wasn't going to wait around all night for people to show up. I tried to explain the entire story, that I originally called to cancel...and... thats as far as I got before came at me with his finger to show me where on my confirmation it said that I needed 24 hour notice to cancel. I told him that I understood their policy and was told I could be there late.. and... he cut me off again, patronizing me like I was a little kid. Finally I was pissed.. so I told him that every person in that office was rude and unprofessional, including him,. He yelled, "why dont you have a nice day?!!!" So as I left I told them that they shouldn't sell coupons marketing their business if they were going to be assholes to everyone, and slammed the door. So, not only did I sit in rush hour traffic on the 55 forever, I didn't get the services I paid for, and was treated like shit. In the receptionists defense, she did offer me the ionic foot bath but I declined because I was already pissed and didn't to stay there for any reason. Oh yeah, and I looked at my voucher when I got home, and it didn't one thing about the cancellation policy the Doctor was so eager to point out to me. jerk. I emailed Screamin Dalily Deals, so hopefully they will refund my money. Its not really about the money, it was only $18 bucks.. but still... I mainly want other people to know how much that place sucks. Addendum: I heard back from Screamin Daily Deals this afternoon, not only did they refund my $18 bucks, they refunded an additional $5.00 credit to my account.
