I went here to use a groupon deal that includes a 60-min massage, 30-min foot bath, and acupuncture. When I made my appointment last Saturday, it was originally made at 12pm. However, I was running late and called to say I was coming in at 12:15 to which the receptionist replied that it was perfect since the masseuse's 11pm appt came in late. I came into the office at 12:15 EXACTLY. I had to fill out a questionnaire form, and was told to do it quickly so that I wouldn't go over in my time (rude!). By the time I was finished filling out the useless form and spoke to Raul (the masseuse) about what I'd like him to focus on, it was already 12:22. Not only did his massage suck, he was completely rushing through it; probably because it was his lunch time and his stomach kept grumbling. By the time he finished it was 1:05. I asked him if I received the full 60mins, and he responded by saying, "it was a 55min massage." !??!?! If you decide to check this place out for yourself, make sure you check the time! Also, the massage room is by the adjustment chairs. Not only was my experience not enjoyable due to the rushed massage, but I had the pleasure of hearing many grunts and moans of pain due to the patient getting adjusted right by the door. There were so many problems with the Groupon that I purchased I don't even know where to begin. Sorry this is so long, I hope it's at least informative... The receptionist here was very sweet and I pitied her, and she is why I did not complain at the time of my treatment. In hindsight, I should have been an informant of my complaints so that others could save their money and avoid this place. I purchased a $59 package which was to include: two 60 minute massages, acupuncture, and two ionic foot baths. The chiropractic office told me that I could NOT do all three procedures in one visit (for health reasons). So they scheduled me for three separate visits in May and July. After my first massage they asked me if I would like to receive regular treatment, I replied that I didn't think I had chiropractic coverage. But, they offered to check my insurance to determine if I could continue receiving treatment by paying just the deductible. Not thinking anything bad would come of it, I gave them my insurance info to check my coverage. They concluded that I would have a $20 deductible. Good news, but to be honest I had a bad feeling that the owner was "scammy". I thought maybe I was being harsh towards the chiropractor (Ronald Vaselenko, DC) and his salesman tactics. Either way I did not want to give him anymore business. After I used most of the Groupon services, I never went back. This review comes today with as much information as I can give about the services that I received because I've just been researching my health insurance records (for unrelated reasons)... I have just discovered that THIS OFFICE CHARGED MY INSURANCE $190 on THREE separate OCCASIONS for a total of $570!!! ALL OF THESE SERVICES WERE SUPPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN MY GROUPON PACKAGE and the package I purchased was only valued at $300! ...I am appalled at their behavior and wonder if they have also done this to other people who never noticed it on their insurance statements. I am calling to confront them when they open tomorrow. In addition I will be calling my insurance to notify them of this disgusting situation and inform them to dispute the claims. I will update this site with their suggestion for resolution but this review will never be removed. I have contacted Groupon to inform them of the situation as well. Aside from this the issues that initially put a bad taste in my mouth include: I witnessed the owner pressuring one of his patients into sending him more business, as if her business wasn't appreciated at all, only the prospect that she could bring him more suckers. He called me... himself... and tried to get me to come in for treatment after he "checked my insurance". He was quite pushy and insistent about the fact that I should go regularly. I had heard that the office was very high pressure on continuing treatment but he was over the top. He was telling me of issues with my neck that no one else had ever mentioned. (Not to worry though, he told me he could fix me up after a series of treatments.) During the ionic foot bath you are subjected to a 10-15 minute tape the doctor recorded in which it seems he tries to brainwash you as to the horrors of toxins and convince you to sign up for his EXPENSIVE treatment plan. There were about 3 beds and 2 chairs in one room that were all used for various treatments at the same time. Maybe this is a common practice that I'm not aware of however, I've been to quite a few massage establishments and never experienced "group" sessions. My massage was about 40 minutes long as opposed to the standard 50 minutes for an "hour long session". (I have no proof but) some things made me wonder as to the sanitary conditions and cleanliness of the linens. After your first portion of your deal is redeemed you receive a "special" $200 voucher for a free consultation. Basically this opens the door for him to tell you how many problems you "have" and in what way he can "help" you. This place is awful. Staying away is the best advice I can give anyone. read more

Down with this place I say! Bought a coupon from the living social site before Christmas and I still can't get in. I can only go on Saturdays so the first weekend appt they can get me is in June, seriously??? Do what everyone else does when demand peaks, hire soasonal/temp staff. Get it together. So i decided I might have to take a work day off just to get my massage, well the first weeday they can fit me in is in April. If everyone else is having similar problems voice it here so the will do something about it. I am not getting a refund on a great deal and I'm getting my massage one way or another. read more

I know this is a little past due but since I promised that I would yelp to Kendra, better than never. I went there since I found LivingSocial deals, massage and foot detox for a good price. First I am sure many already know but making an appointment is hassle, they are overbooked (for the deals I believe) so I have to wait for a few months since I needed it to be on Saturdays. They messed up my appointment, as a result I had to go back to get my full treatment a week later, they did my foot detox for free though to compensate. The Chiropractic doctor was a little on the pushy side trying to get a client, but I already have a doctor, I went there for a massage. The girl who did my full-body massage was Kendra, and she was good, that's why I am spending some time to yelp her. She was very new when I went there a few weeks ago, I hope she stays there for a while. She was friendly, pleasant and very real (unlike typical OC girls), I found out why since she is from Minnesota and she's been here in SoCal only like a month. In Minnesota, according to her, the massage school graduation requirement is much higher (require much more hours in actual practice) than California, as a result, naturally they should be better by default when they graduate. Anyway, she listens what I want, strong or soft, I asked her the good painful massage, which she totally delivered ....lol She seems to know what she is doing and the pain was pretty bad at some point but I know that it's a good pain, she is hitting the right spots. I wish her the best of luck and I hope to go back there, just for the pure massage w/o sales pitch from the doctors. Thanks to all the yelpers who complained to Living Social about this place. It forced them to get their stuff together. I didn't have one problem with availability Went there for the massage and foot bath. Loved the massage even though the lady was chatting me up the whole time, my fault, I could have told her to stop when she asked lol. I thought the foot bath was odd, but I went with it. Came in again to the see the chiro about my back pain. My appointment was frequently interrupted because the chiro had to attend to the reception area. I thought that was weird... Drs. working the reception area. Anyway, I never got any real diagnosis or explanation - just the standard chiro spiel. I didn't come back for spinal adjustments or further treatment because I felt in my bones (no pun intended) that it was just my muscle - my spine wasn't out of place. Ended up going the massage route (at another place closer to my house) and my back is fine... the muscle was just REALLY stiff. If I hadn't found a place closer to home I would def come back for the massages. read more

I had been going to Orange Coast Chiropractic Group using Dr. Kausler for my Chiropractic services, and found him through a living social deal, excellent massage therapists, and the Dr. Kausler gives great adjustments. I paid for 20 Massage, Adjustment, and Ionic Footbath packages in advance. Unfortunately he has gone overboard with Living Social and Groupon deals over the past year. Now over the past three month when scheduling appointments and showing up to them early I or my wife were told that there must have been a mistake and that we were not scheduled for massages on those appointment days, even though from the time past I or my wife personally scheduled the appointment with the receptionist while I we were standing there. The first time it happened to my wife she actually showed up an hour early by accident and Dr. Kausler told her she was not scheduled and that she made a mistake. Funny thing is I am the one who made the appointment with the receptionist. He told her she could wait for two hours because there was a cancellation at 5 pm. She explained that she had appointments later but since she was an hour early should he not contact the person that was put in her place and ask them to come an hour later since she is already there? Makes Sense doesn't it, she shouldn't have to pay for Dr. Kausler's screw-ups? He told my wife if she didn't like it she could leave (what a looser). The guy has nerve I called and asked him what the heck is going on he said, O your wife must have screwed up, I told him it was me who made the appointment, in-house so it was a mix up on his end. He then decided to blame the front office assistant; well ok we will let this go and see what happens in the future. The following month when it was my appointment, the same things happen and again Dr. Kausler's blames someone else, and finally it happened again. I had another huge argument with him but he never takes the blame on anything and the truth be told other people were complaining about the same thing when I would be waiting in the lobby for my turn. Basically he oversold the Living Social and Groupon, got my money up front so anytime a high paying insurance case contact him or needs to be fitted in the schedule he bumps anyone else. Dr. Kausler's might give a good adjustment but this guy is dishonest and doesn't care about his patients, employees, or anyone else except himself! So, obviously this place has taken a crazy hit for over selling on groupon and living social, but I definitely think with everyone's complaints that it has helped this place in the long run. I bought a living social deal and didn't have too much trouble getting and appointment. I showed up for my appointment a little early and was taken back with in 5 mins. My massage therapist was GREAT! Her name is Twyla, if you want a good deep tissue massage, she's your girl! I could only say positive things about the massage experience and I would give her 5 stars. The Living Social deal also included the "Ionic Foot Bath"... that was... well .. okay. I don't think I would want to do it again. Maybe it's because I was forgotten about back there and was sitting with my feet in cold water for 45 minutes until finally a girl walked by and saved me. So I would say if you go, only get the massage, (and see Twyla!) don't waste your time with the foot thing and the boring sales pitch you receive. read more

I never even had a chance to experience this business. I had a Groupon and when I called to book an appointment I was told (rudely) that the front desk girl wasn't there and to call back. I finally called back, and was given an appointment only to have them cancel it 2 hours prior to my arrival. I booked a new appointment for today, and received a call last night that the massage girl has changed her schedule and they can't see me today. I'm fed up with the unprofessionalism of this office. I don't even care if Groupon doesn't refund me, I wouldn't set foot in there based upon my experience telephonically at this point. read more

I came to see Dr Kausler for cold laser therapy. I have had upper back muscle tension for many years and I have tried everything including injections. Nothing else worked. Cold laser gave me more relief than any other therapy I have had. Also Dr K treated my lower back pain which went away quickly with cold laser. Dr K and Crystal accommodated my schedule even when I was in jury duty and couldn't give them a definite time for my appointment. My upper back issues are a real challenge and Dr K was determined to help me. Cold laser loosened my upper back and completely fixed my lower back pain. read more

I found this office from Groupon in 2011, and I have to say they've taken care of me in so many ways. Dr. Kausler has adjusted me just by on calls when I absolutely needed to see him. I work in Irvine and I'd come on my lunch break for a quick adjustment. I'm out in 30 minutes. I play a lot of sports, sustained a few back contusions from snowboarding, neck and wrist pains from aerial dance, and was in a motorcycle wreck last Easter. Dr. Kausler didn't even know I was coming in for medical treatment, he thought I was just coming in for massages after I had used the initial Groupon. Anyway, once I told his son what I was dealing with and having to lose my mind dealing with the insurance, Dr. set me up with an awesome lawyer, and they opened a case to where I could come in for back adjustments and massages almost twice a week for more than 4 months. Case closed in November, I never had to deal with the insurance and I got paid out for all the damage that my motorcycle, camera gear, and my body took. Nothing was broken, but I was definitely bent out of shape for 2 months. I had acupuncture done, and I've recommended this to anyone who's had bad circulation or swelling from injury. I've broken ankles, twisted and fallen on my wrists before coming to OCCG and acupuncture is the way to go to kill the swelling. The Ionic footbath is excellent if you need a detox or see what your body needs to avoid ingesting. I come in mainly for: 1) massages 2) back adjustments 3) acupuncture 4) foot soaks all in their respective order. I don't see what everyone else has to complain about. It is a doctor's office, and I call to make appointments for massages 2 weeks in advanced. I end up seeing the massuse that same week. Back adjustments are quick and usually don't need more than a day in advanced for appointment. Everyone at the office is like my family now, I see them at least once a month, given I don't injure myself. If I do, I'm there 3-4 times a month. Cynthia's a wonder receptionist and is always there to answer calls. I usually make my appointments last of the day (6pm) so I can stay and chat with the massuse or doctor. Jasmine usually does my massages and they put me to sleep in 15 minutes. Dr. Lee does the acupuncture. I've had Jackie before for massages and a few times I didn't even fall asleep because we had such interesting conversations. They've taken such great care of me, and I couldn't thank the office more for helping me through my motorcycle accident. If you state your need they will address it. After countless times of being told to call back by a VERY rude Asian receptionist with broken English i finally spoke with someone today who told me there aren't any appointments available till April and that they schedule their regular clients before those who purchased the vouchers. She went on to say how overwhelmed they are by the amount of voucher purchases. NOT MY FAULT. Then i got hung up on in the middle of trying to talk to her. bad business. bad people. In spite of the "low" reviews from the previous yelpers, I had a fantastic experience! The staff was knowledgeable and was extremely friendly and easy to talk to! I finally used the living social deal that I bought a year ago for $18. Totally worth it and then some! The ionic detox foot bath was interesting. I had no clue what to expect. I was disgusted and intrigued by the dirty water- that was my body toxins. After the 20 minute detox, I received a massage from Gabby. She was AWESOME! I was extremely relaxed and my entire body was nicely "fixed" up again. They have an option online to schedule your appointments-- that made it extremely easy for me because its not necessary to talk to a person to schedule an appointment! (For those who tried calling-you should check out their website-its very friendly for those techy and non techy people). The only down fall is that their regular price for the massages are kind of pricey. However, they do have a deal going on now (till Dec 5th?)-$50 for 1 hour massage and if you add on the ionic detox foot bath its an additional $10. Apparently the other doctor they have assigned us to didn't know what "body Typing" is and so we just wished them well. I purchased the massage, acupuncture, and foot bath through groupon. Since the groupon went on sale, I saw the yelp reviews about having a hard time getting through so I waited a month and a half to call and make an appointment. I got through just fine (actually surprised someone picked up so quickly) and was able to schedule a massage the next week (granted I'm a student so my hours are very flexible). The receptionist was nice and there was nothing off about making my appointment. I think I had Kendra do my massage. I came in a bit early so she started my massage a bit early. It was a great massage. She asked me if there was any area I had concerns about and I told her my left shoulder gets pretty tense. She concentrated on my left shoulder and my knot there. The massage she gave was the good kind of hurt which I love. After I walked out, my body felt lighter. I even think I dozed off for a couple of minutes during my massage. I also had the foot bath and that was interesting... Acupuncture I had another day and that was also interesting. He took my pulse and gave me recommendations on what kind of food I should eat by looking at my body type and pulse. He also did some acupuncture where he didn't insert needles and leave them there. Made this appointment for me and the bf on groupon.... It was supposed to be for an hour massage, ionic foot bath and acupuncture. First off I need to comment on the scheduling, the acupuncturist only works appx 2 days a week so we were not able to even do that portion of the special. Also, it took two and a half months to get an appointment just for the massage and foot bath. When it came time for our appt we were running about 10-15 minutes late so I called to let them know that we would be there slightly after we were scheduled. The girl on the phone said it was ok and she would let our therapists know. We arrived about 12 minutes late and were given forms to fill out prior to treatment then placed in the lobby. After ten minutes or so the receptionist came out and said we needed to hurry up and finish the forms because "that was eating up the massage time". So I told her we finished a long time ago and gave her back the forms. Before we could start the massage the girl at the front desk needed to process the groupons which used up more of our actual massage time. No one had informed us of these delays in any of the times I talked to these people. They didnt even tell us to get there early for paperwork at all. And no one told me that if we were late it would use our massage time. During the massage the massage therapist actually apologized for the rudeness of the girl at the front desk. Then she asked me to lay down on the table as she left the room. When she came back she said "oops, I forgot to tell you to take off your clothes" so she left again and I got undressed. When she came back I ended up getting about 20 minutes of an actual massage. Which would have been a good massage if it could have been for the whole hour that I paid for! The therapist was actually good. And the ionic foot bath is a joke. It's basically putting your feet in a garbage bag full of warm water that has a device in the middle that pumps rust into the tub. If you look up some of the you tube videos you'll find a man that "detoxifies" a carrot. Thankfully Groupon has such a good return policy. I hope they dont have to pay these people a cent. I was about to leave a one star review, but am changing it two because the massage was surprisingly good. I arrived at the office at my 9:30 appointment time and there was no one there. The doors were locked and lights were off even though they were supposed to be open at 9. The receptionist had told me to come 5 min before my appt, which I did. Dr. Kausler finally comes at 9:52, explaining that his receptionist called in sick, but not really apologizing. I learn through this session that he's a fun guy with a cavelier attitude, which I would usually enjoy, but it's rather annoying when I've just wasted 30 min. The massage was great (by Jessica), but I still don't believe that the footbath did anything. It was really strange to be educating the doctor about how blood pH can't change because of buffers (or else you would die), and how the color change of the water was from metal corrosion from the plates in the "box". Anyways, I'm always up for trying new things, but I won't be trying ionic anything again. For the record, I'm a big fan of massage therapy and I fully believe that accupuncture and chiropractry works, but I need data and/or to experience it myself before believing the rest of these alternative treatment. read more

After reading the other reviews, I can attest that this place is busy. I have, however, never had a problem with them working me into the schedule even at the last minute. I have gotten the best massages of my life here (courtesy of Cynthia). I initially bought the Groupon and have since become a regular customer. Dr. Kausler gave me an adjustment today and it felt awesome. I had the acupuncture as well and felt super mellow walking out of the place. One stop shop if you want to get relaxed. I recently hurt my lower back and was having a difficult time walking . I was super nervous to go to a chiropractor. But one of my friends suggested orange coast chiropractic group. And I'm so glad he did! I walked in and filled out my paperwork and an hour later I was walking with minimal pain. I was really impressed by the staff ,they were amazing and helpful. The man who answered was very nice and gave me a range of choices for appointments including one for 2 days away. I finally booked an appointment for 2/20 at 11:30am for me and my husband. Did not seem to be any problems with scheduling and availability. He did mentioned that they just got a new room and more staff but my experience was nothing but positive. read more

Dr. Kausler is awesome! I had a pinched nerve for 6 months before going to him and he fixed it within 2 months!! He unfortunately wasn't on my preferred insurance list but he worked with me to continue going to him at a VERY affordable price. I would recommend him to anyone, my visits are quick and easy and I feel great immediately afterwards. I am just so grateful that he fixed my pinched nerve without me having to spend a fortune. He would rather permanently FIX the problem than only temporarily fix it so you have to keep coming back like many other chiropractors do. read more

horrible. First getting an appointment was near impossible, and they wouldn't tell you the hours until you told them where you heard from them. In addition, once you told them you got it from livingsocial.com, all of sudden they weren't available, had no openings for months, and became very rude. The doctor himself was taking care of the phones and yelled at me that I had bought the voucher a year ago (NOT true, it was 3 mos). The massage was absolutely terrible, I am sure they were not willing to give people quality service due to the low prices people paid. This place is close to my house and I frequently get massages and see a chiropractor far away. I was excited to try this place, hoping it would be a good replacement for my current chiropractor and massage place. HOWEVER, based on the incredibly rude woman who answered the phone alone, I WILL NOT. Marketing/business management advice for Orange Coast Chiropractic Group - Hire new staff to answer your phones. It would make all the difference in the world. After the Groupon wave is over, your business will be left with very poor reviews, and few repeat clients/customers. I completely understand that answering hundreds of calls and booking hundreds of appointments can be overwhelming and stressful, but if your job duties consist of that type of work, and you can't handle it and/or are not a "people person" ... get a different job. If the staff at my law firm ever answered phones like that and treated potential clients that way they would be let go immediately. There are plenty of people who can multi-task and still maintain civility and kindness. read more

I have suffered from back pain since my early 20's and I thought it was just something that got worse as we got older. It wasn't until about 4 years ago when I was rear ended and scheduled a visit with Dr Kausler at Orange Coast Chiropractic. Not only were they able to see me right away, but the service and attention I received was amazing. Dr Kausler and his staff are wonderful. After my car accident, i continued going to Dr Kausler for routine adjustments. Not only is he a great chiropractor, but a sweet gentle kind human being that will go above and beyond. They are a it busy, but it is a local business. I thought it was all a great deal. The acupuncturist was fantastic - I ended up buying more sessions with her. I did have to spend some time getting my evaluation with the chiropractor, but it was really good and his adjustments were very different than what other chiropractors do. Dr. Kausler was easily able to diagnose my symptoms and make the appropriate adjustments. My symptoms were not easy ones as it related to a pulled muscle near my heart. I was amazed at how quickly Dr. Kausler was able to diagnose the issue and resolve it almost immediately. Both a cardiologist and internal medicine Doctor were unable to diagnose and treat my issue. I could not be happier with the results I have received. If you are looking for a good chiropractor, I recommend Dr. Kausler. read more

Hello to all... I have been coming to this office for years and had a very pleasant experience with the dr and massage therapist. I love the fact that dr is willing to work with the insurance and incorporate massages in with chiro treatments too. I come in tired and stressed and leave relaxed, happy and sleepy... Awwwwwww. PS, to all the Groupon complaints, go cry to ur Momma, you get 3 treatments for what? $35???? Try going somewhere else and get 1 hr massage alone for that price to see if you can find one. Both of my in-laws are chiropractors and Dr. K seemed to impress. My foot was making a clicking sound...my medical Dr. told me that it is likely permanent and made a referral to see a specialist. I was not sold on that idea so I called up Dr. K's office and was able to be seen right away. He adjusted my foot and realigned my leg. Its been a few days and the pain and "clicking" in my foot is gone. He gave me some rehab exercises and the in-laws said they liked the exercise choice. I trust Dr. K. enough to let him adjust my 8 year old son who grinds his teeth. He liked Dr. K. and had a smile the whole time. Its not Burk Williams people...its a Chiropractors office. If the equipment is high quality...it will last. That could explain the "old equipment" for those who are looking around for glamor. I am happy to get back into the gym and kill it. I bought a Groupon for this place and was really excited to check it out; acupuncture + massage + foot bath = sounds awesome, but wasn't at all. My acupuncture session was supposed to be for 30 mins, well they don't tell you that 15 of those minutes are a less than knowledgeable doctor doing a consult. I'm very familiar with Chinese Medicine and Eastern practices, literally my life is based around these philosophies, and the practitioner didn't seem to care, all she cared about was getting me to come back-honestly never been "sold" so hard in my life. If you have any integrity, this place will not be a good fit for you. I only did the acupuncture portion of the Groupon and will not be returning for the remaining portions. read more

Dr. Kausler is by far the Best Chiropractor!!!!. i went to him because my neck was killing me i slept wrong i don't know but in the morning i woke up with an aching pain i could not even move my neck, i let it go about 2 days i thought that it will go away on its own you know !! But it didn't i also work with a computer and there was just pain shooting down my whole arm and leg so weird and scary at the same time in my lunch break i went over to his office and it was the best appointment Ever so easy and when he worked on me he took my mind of everything i was very comfortable and he is so knowledgeable that i now have a permanent Chiropractor. Its always a pleasure going to my appointments and i also brought in my family who also love and enjoy their appointment. I truly recommend him to everyone and so will you once you go!!! read more

Doctor Kausler is professional and makes you feel better, not only physically, he makes you laugh and giggle and makes your heart feel better, especially after a tramatic injury. It is a pleasure going to see Dr. Kausler. His staff is fun and upbeat. Its a causal office, with the latest technologies...
