This review is only based off a sales experience and not the car servicing department. I only did business with this dealership as a result of a prearranged deal with my broker so I cannot comment on their marketing or the negotiating tactics. I feel relieved after this first time car buying process that everything was as agreed and did not detect any misrepresentation of details. It was definitely scary but there were no surprises and I believe I got the best deal I could ask for. The highlight was the sales representative Jenny Tran. I received a lease offer I could work with late Friday afternoon on Friday so I submitted all the requested information near the end of business hours on Friday evening over the phone and email. Jenny processed all the information and offered to deliver me (broker deal) the car the next day. I was not quite ready and wanted to review the contract with my experienced friends and family. She scanned the documents on Saturday morning for me to review and patiently answered all my questions before the scheduled delivery appointment on Sunday. When she arrived at my home in LA with my car she showed me how to use the features and helped me connect and set up my phone to the car. My broker also came by to ensure everything was agreed to, the whole process probably took less than an hour! They took my card down payment over the phone and emailed me my receipt. Comparatively, I know others who went to the physical location of other dealerships the whole process would take 4-7 hours!! Side note: I noticed that Orange Coast took over the old South Coast dealership so you if you want some additions reviews on the workers you might find some from the closed Yelp location page. read more

So we stopped in and test drove a couple different Acura RDX SUV's. Well we were rotating through the different test drives I noticed there was a two star review posted a couple days ago and after talking with the management here it's unfortunate because this is a brand new dealership and the review is about the old dealership. I don't know if we're going to buy the car yet but I will tell you the service is been unbelievable. Everyone has been very nice, the inventory looks to be pretty good, they had exactly what we were looking for. The restrooms were clean and the young lady at the front little kiosk counter was very nice. This is a brand new Acura dealership, recently taken over by the orange coast group that also runs the Dodge and Jeep dealership next-door. I had an amazing experience at OC Acura with Jenny while purchasing a brand new RDX! There was NO haggling or stereotypical sneaky "salesman" moves. Jenny was transparent and didn't try to upsell me into a more expensive car or features I didn't want. Being a working mom, I told her I had limited time and didn't want to spend hours at the dealership. She emailed me their price and after 1 call, we had a verbal deal. She even emailed me the credit check and so she prepped almost all my paperwork while I was driving there. There were no surprises or add on charges. I arrived at the dealership and in less than 2 hours, I was driving home. She showed me all the features and even gave me her personal number and returned calls and texts very quickly! One month into our brand new RDX and I'm as excited to drive it as the first day I took it home. Thank you to Ryan for helping us out and showing us the best features in the car. Overall we dealt with about five dealerships and Orange Coast Acura had the best selection of vehicles. We had the most thorough test drive and feature walk through with Ryan I'm comparison to other dealers. There were some catches we found in the paper work and of course there was negotiation and you will always have to be mindful of this and expecting this when purchasing a vehicle. At the end of the day it's a business and they have to make money, but I will say this was one of the most pleasant car purchasing experiences I've had. This dealership has one if not the best and lowest deals around, I was shopping for an SUV, and had the nicest sales guy Gilbert Martinez he was very professional, and friendly. I test drove a GLK, an X1 and X3 BMW and an RDX - and he had all of my questions answered - and the cars were a dream to drive. All of them were priced for a steal and while tempted and attempted to get a better price for the BMW X3 (that I ended up buying) there really wasn't any other place I could have gotten a better deal with. Christian Ramsey (finance manager) was also a pleasure to finalize the contract and loan with. The guys at Orange Coast always responded to my emails and questions in a friendly and timely manner. If one of the salespeople were too busy to get back to me, they ensured another person would. Ferdie Aang the so-called "service manager" and his associate John Yang are two of the worst writers I have ever dealt with. After looking for a few months at different SUVs we finally decided to go with Acura. After a few locations we finally found Gilbert and Orange Coast Acura. I wish we would've found them first and saved time! We started the initial sale over the phone and Gilbert was very helpful and his manager, he checked the inventory and provided price estimates that we asked. Once we showed up he had the car ready and treated us with respect and actually listened unlike most other dealers. Throughout the whole process he was honest and upfront, he made the trade in processes very easy as well. Fast forward to February 2019, 6 months later, we speak with another two representatives at the dealership and they tell us they had the license plates since we purchased the vehicle back in July but never sent it to us. Because of this fiasco, we are emailed by Ken Nguyen, another manager, that they would offer a part for purchase at a discounted price. Apparently, he is no longer employed there, after one week of speaking to him. Therefore, I reached out to Jase Kaefer by email and voicemail. No call or email return. Amazing how unprofessional this organization is since they became Orange Coast. Today, when I was out running errands, my car did not start. Battery dead. I called Acura roadside and they had a technician to me within 25 minutes of the call and I got a jump - so good; but this review is not for their roadside. This review is for JUSTIN! Justin Peters. This guy. The man, the myth, the legend. While I was waiting for the roadside tech to arrive to jump my car, I called this Acura dealership and was transferred to the service department, to which Justin answered. I told him my scenario, that I needed a new battery, and I really needed it today (this was the second time the car battery had died on me - not taking another chance). I told him I would come to the dealership ASAP once I got the jump, but however that it could be up to 90 minutes before a tech reaches me. He said they close at 6pm, but if for some reason I couldn't make it by then, he would stay late to accommodate me. At that point, I knew I was in good hands. Luckily, got the jump quickly, and was over to the dealership around probably 5pm. Justin was there and helped me out immediately. Everything was a smooth process from the minute I arrived. He had me waiting under 30 minutes for the battery replacement and was able to help me out A LOT on cost and warranty options. I am forever grateful for his wonderful customer service and he is seriously a genuinely nice person. i've only ever driven acura cars. and for my last 4 leases, i went to south coast acura. there was a lot of staff turnover under management of the previous owner and it negatively impacted the experience as a customer, so i promised myself i would return my current lease and move on to another brand. end of my acura story. BUT then the dealer was purchased by Jon Gray and the Orange Coast family - now called ORANGE COAST ACURA - and only after 6 months of ownership, i can already see improvements with the dealer and customer experience. there is now a sense of family and community at the dealership not previously experienced before. i know they are just cars, but customer experience is huge in my eyes and there was now hope under the new ownership. the sales team is brand new and sourced from experienced acura dealers around the state. i met with RYAN LEE and was pleased with my experience. he was informative with the cars without being extremely pushy. he was also very straightforward with the financials and didn't play the "back and forth game". it was more like "here is the best price, think about it, see if it works for you and let me know how i can help". i get the sense that these guys are playing the long game. they won't turn the dealership upside-down just to make a sale or meet a quota. they want to be a long standing business in the community and will make a deal that is beneficial for BOTH the customer and dealership... which in my opinion is how it should always work. we all need to put food on the table!! long story short. i entered into a new lease with acura. they really are the best value for a luxury vehicle (great quality with out having to sell your kidneys to pay for it) and now this dealership operates under the acura reputation of having the best customer service and experience. thank you ORANGE COAST and RYAN LEE. glad i stayed with the acura family! read more

I have been to a number of Acura dealers, and I have never had someone this passionate about trying to sell me the car as well as demonstrating the performance. I purchased a vehicle just yesterday, 2/10/19. I find myself in agreement with another review regarding the unethical tactics in regard to Orange Coast Acura's finance team. The reason I gave this dealership two stars is for the following. Billy our salesman was great throughout the whole process and we obtained a good deal on our car. In reviewing the loan documentation, I found I was charged $250.00 to have the option to cancel the purchase and return the vehicle. At no point during the signing of the loan documents was it disclosed such fee would be added to my loan. As it seems this action proves to be a very unethical practice of conducting business. I was very happy with my purchase until I reviewed the signed loan documentation. I was mislead by your finance manager. I also want to note you should not have your customers sign a contract before a pre-contract as that also warrants a sense of dishonesty when conducting business. I purchased the vehicle because it was a great vehicle and I had no desire to "cancel" the purchase and would have appreciated more honesty during the process. I hope you are able to remedy this situation as what had proven to be a seamless experience now has gone awry and warrants that I disclose this to future customers on yelp and to the BBB. Please future customers...although this dealership offers great deals please make sure you verify line by line what you are signing for. Honestly I would give no stars if I could. I recently purchased a 2019 Acura RDX from this dealership. This dealership is so dis-honest in their dealings. I originally called and spoke with a sales person about purchasing the new 2019 Acura RDX, after much negotiating we agreed upon a price, and scheduled a time to execute the purchase. When I arrived at the dealership I soon found out they had added $500 to the agreed upon price. At this point I left the dealership. After leaving I received several texts letting me know that they would now honor the original deal. So I went back and started the paper work. Everything seemed to go well until I got home and had a chance to analyze the purchase agreement, and realize that they added the $500 under a different line item thinking I would not notice. I immediately called the sales Manger Ken and told him about the so called error. He gave me an excuse, and scheduled a time to redo the paperwork. So after getting everything corrected. I called and left a message for the finance Manger that I wanted to buy the extended warranty, and wanted to see if they would match a price I had received from another dealership. After waiting 4 days and not receiving a call back from her, I called her again and still no response. Finally after several attempts I was able to get in touch with her, and she told me that she would match the price, and she would mail me the paper work. Again another 4 days passed, and no paper work had showed up. I called her again, and spoke with her, she told me that they could honor the price, because it was under their cost. I asked her why she agreed to it, and she told me that she was busy and wasn't thinking right. So I then called the GM of the dealership Jace, and he would not return my calls. I finally was able to get in touch with him, and he told me that they could not honor what they had committed to do. Overall this dealership is so dis-honest and doesn't do good business. Kenny answered questions for me over the phone. We agreed on a price and I took a one way uber to pick up my car! The whole process was easy and didn't take too long. I think the longest part of the purchasing process was listening to the extended warranty sales pitch of the finance manager. If you plan on declining it, make sure you plan on staying a little longer because it will be pushed on you. If you've been able to exit a time share presentation unscathed, you should do just fine. I was in the market for a new vehicle and was never in a rush to purchase. So the last 2 months I have been online looking at reviews and requesting a quote to see where I can get a fair deal for both sides. At a previous Acura where I work which is only 5 minutes away from me, they tried to pull that on me and I told them I am in no rush but I am in the market so I came in and they tried to play the good cop bad cop scenario and I was not having it. I just wanted to know what was the baseline number and I do not need to play this game and Ken was the only one that actually gave me a number which was the number I was thinking of and kept his word when I got to the dealership. Ken delivered on all aspects of the transactions and I was in and out less than hour and I did not have spend all day at the dealership. Purchased a vehicle from South Coast Acura (now Orange Coast Acura) in the middle of 2018. First off, James and Binh were amazing to deal with (five stars). I can not recommend them enough. Binh was busy so he introduced me to James who was hands down, the best salesman I have ever worked with. The one star is for the finance manager (Henry, I believe?) at South Coast Acura. Three very negative interactions with him: 1) James had to go do something and Henry took over (I understand this commonly used tactic to "get the deal done,") no problem. Henry came in and immediately was aggressive towards me and tried to push me around in hopes of getting a deal. I had to stop him and tell him that the way he talked to me was not going to fly. 2) Had a license plate frame on my car that I really wanted to keep as it was rare. I asked Henry to borrow a screwdriver to which he said "psh, does it look like I would have one, I'm the finance manager" and pointed to the sales person. Didn't end up getting the license plate frame off the car. 3) I was adamant to not have gap insurance included in my deal (it is a waste of money) and I made it clear from the beginning. Henry presented me some monthly payment numbers which looked fine. When I went to sign the papers, I noticed he tried to sneak in gap insurance into the deal as the monthly payment numbers included gap insurance. The most shady thing I have ever experience at a car dealership by far. If I didn't get such a good deal, I would have walked out immediately after any of the above mentioned interactions. 5 stars for James/Binh and the deal that I got on the car. 1 star for dealing with the finance manager. read more

I have been bringing my 2016 RDX for service to this dealership since I bought it. They are convenient to my office and the service staff is pretty helpful. HOWEVER, the place is under new ownership. So about a month or so ago, they sent me a gift card for $50 to be applied to any upcoming service. Sweet, I thought. NOT SO SWEET when I got there. Now, instead of the $74 for a service, they now charge $114.99!!! Guess they had to cover the cost of the gift card and a little extra profit. So, my service ended up costing me almost $70 with taxes. Learned a real lesson today - check other dealers before! The dealer near my house does the same service for $58!!! HALF what I would have to pay here!! BE WARNED - SERVICE PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS!! read more

We already knew what we were looking for and started our research with local dealerships in San Diego, with just wasted time. Very minimal discount and very limited inventory had us seek help from OC Acura. I contacted Kenny Nguyen (Sales manager) directly and he gave me his best quote straightforward (which was far better than any SD dealer) and had all the color combinations in case we wanted to check them out for our MDX. Once we got there a few hours later my wife test drove the car, chose the color and that's it. Finance took some time but Kenny, Mike and Billy were super helpful, friendly and accommodating during our visit. Don't waste your time looking for a new Acura anywhere else! Will be back for sure and will recommend them to all my friends and family looking to get a new Acura. read more

I want to take this opportunity to give the highest review and recommendation possible of Orange Coast Acura staff located in Costa Mesa, and service manager Justin Peters in particular.   I recently purchased a 2016 Acura ILX from another dealership, but wanted to obtain a more thorough inspection from a certified Acura dealer.  Even though I purchased the car elsewhere, Justin Peters treated me like a VIP client, while identifying several necessary repairs, which he repaired at a very reasonable cost.  My experience with Justin Peters and Orange Coast Acura/Costa Mesa was absolutely fantastic, and a very pleasant surprise from what I expected.  I will personally return to Orange Coast Acura/Costa Mesa for all my vehicle needs. Great place. Penh assisted us. Nice and friendly service all around. The staff was quick to help us test drive, appraise, and make a deal . Definitely recommend! UPDATE: I am changing my review due to how we were treated at the finance office. Everyone before that, the sales staff and sales manager, was nice, friendly and honest with pricing and details regarding the vehicle we were purchasing. However, the finance employee Mary tried to give us a "good deal" and add a paint sealant service for only 1$. We were about to sign when I noticed that instead of a 1$ charge, the sealant service was written up as 240$. Only after twenty minutes of us trying to figure out why it was written up as 240$, did Mary give up and cancel the charge. I definitely do not appreciate being ripped off. Although the sales staff and manager were helpful and welcome, this situation has left an overall bad impression. read more
