Earlier this year, I sold my RAV4 and decided that it was time for an upgrade. I began doing a little research and began test driving vehicles. I went to Tesla and had a less than positive experience with them. So, that was removed from our list of contenders. Then we went to Volvo and absolutely loved their SUV. However, after conducting some research, we realized that Volvo would not be the best vehicle for us. Last on our list was Lexus. As they say, we saved the best for last! Originally, we went to a different Lexus dealership in Newport. They gave us their discount prices for AAA and Costco. My husband suggested that we also visit Lexus of Westminster. I wasn't too sure about it at first, but after reading their reviews, one sales representative stood out among the rest. So, I sent an inquiry over and said that I ONLY want to speak with Alex Cao! Sure enough, he contacted me that morning. We made an appointment to meet Alex and we automatically knew that this was our guy! We arrived at the dealership and Alex was aware that we were a few months away from purchasing the vehicle. He was willing to work with our timeline and was very patient with us. I asked what Lexus of Westminster offered for their AAA and Costco discount. Newport Lexus' discount was a bit higher. So Alex said that they'd match it. In total, we test drove 3 vehicles. We drove 2 during our first visit and another one during our second visit. We looked at average mileage on a Lexus Nx 350 and compared it to the hybrid version of the vehicle. Given the amount of miles that we drive and also considering that these vehicles require premium gasoline, we decided to get the hybrid version of the NX. Alex looked at the inventory and was able to see the vehicles that were coming in. There was an NX coming in that was the exact color/combo that we wanted. It was coming in during the week that we wanted to purchase the vehicle. So, I left a deposit with the dealership and waited for Alex to let me know when it was coming in. Whenever I texted Alex, he always responded. I was a little nervous about the possibility that someone might be able to purchase the vehicle if it came in on a day when I couldn't make it to the dealership. He reassured me that no one else could buy the car. Alex let me know that my car was due in soon and asked me to come in and fill out the paperwork. So, as I was driving into the dealership, I found out the my vehicle had arrived from the port. I was able to check it out and it was awesome to see how Lexus had just about everything covered in plastic when it comes in from the ports. I was able to sit it in and I knew that I was about to have a vehicle that was different from anything else that I've driven. Alex matched the discount that we would have received from Newport Lexus. I also got a discount on the cross bars/installation and the paint warranty. I bought the paint warranty because the quality of paint that is being applied to vehicle nowadays is not the best. I've seen so many newer vehicles with paint peeling and I didn't want to deal with it. I came back the next day to pick up the car. I didn't get it when it came in fill out the paperwork and pay for the vehicle because I wanted them to add the cross bars to the NX. So when we showed up the next day, there was a big red bow on the NX. I was so excited! We took photos and Alex helped us set out the vehicle and the Lexus app. He made sure that we were aware of the all of the features and how to use them. He was extremely patient with us. I have to agree with the other reviews! Alex is great! He never harassed us. I didn't have endless texts or emails from him trying to get me to buy this vehicle. He knew what my timeline was and honored that by letting us proceed at our own pace. Alex started out at the valet and has worked his way up to selling cars. I felt incredibly comfortable working with him. He's not like those hawks that come at you when you show up at the dealership. He's easygoing and very professional.
