It's because of the parent. But in general if you talk to these people be honest with them they want to help you. My situation i can't help that i can't afford a place for myself and my daughter. I am in a struggle finding a home. I have been homeless since April 17,2023 put my daughter with a friend to keep her from being on the street so i thought i did the right thing but something happened. And i did not know anything about but that's why i kept asking because i felt something was up and it was. If they offer you help take it

IN MY OPINION, do not go to Orange County Children and Family Services Office on Eckhoff Street in…read moreOrange if you want to ADOPT. Reunification (reuniting a child with his previously addicted, absent or abusive parents) is EVERYTHING. Because they make that a priority, they have a HUGE need for foster parents, and almost no need at all for adoptive parents. BUT THEY WON'T TELL YOU THAT. As you go through the PRIDE courses (an acronym), they will treat the foster parents like gods, and the adoptive parents like dirt. Our assigned social worker continued the abuse in our own home. My spouse and I were stunned. We complained to her supervisor, and nothing was done. We took our complaints (almost) all the way to the top (we were prevented from speaking to anyone with any real power) and the dumb-bunny social workers -- when told by us to tell prospective parents that adoptive parents are not needed (or wanted), said, "Well, then everybody will drop out!" We said, "That's the idea! That's their right." They refused, and will (presumably) "boil-the frog," meaning: abuse you until you switch to being a foster parent, or leave in disgust. Forewarned is forearmed. MAKE them tell you in the PRIDE class just how many children are up for adoption (it is OFTEN less than fifty). MAKE your assigned social worker treat you with respect. If she doesn't, document EVERYTHING, and throw her out of your home. I gave it three stars so my review won't be demoted.

Luckily i was getting paid from IHSS to take care of my brother and he received SSI. we struggled with paying roughly $3000 per month and technically we never were "under the stars" homeless. The illumination foundation promised to pay for our move in. Finding a place to accept us was very difficult due to previous evictions and criminal record not to mention a poor credit score. The illumination foundation sent us to apply for multiple apartments to no avail. i provided every document requested and we still were not approved- We received the encouragement to keep trying but i assure you, it was difficult. i found a back house recently by posting an ad looking for work as a caregiver. the person who hired me to work rented me a beautiful back house and didnt scrutinize my life and past. the illumination foundation is paying for the deposit ( $3000) my paycheck doubled when i got the second job. it is very satisfying when you can pat yourself on the back for finding a nice place to live. thank you for paying my deposit and for not making me so reliant upon you

I really appreciate this company for helping me with my move-in deposit. In a quick fast orderly matter me and my family was facing homelessness and they helped us to have a roof food and counseling through our problems. Thank you again Illumination foundation for being the ones that prioritize our family.
