I requested installation of a new Kohler faucet on my roman tub, replacing a 38 year old faucet. It required removing numerous 3" square white tiles to access the plumbing connections. I got bids from 5 plumbers and OIPS had the best price. I provided the hardware and OIPS provided the labor. Levi, the plumber, did an excellent job cutting out a nice 12" square section of tile to access the pipes and install the valve assembly. That went so well I can easily reinstall the cut out tile in the future. For now I just used a white access panel to cover the hole and it looks very nice. New faucet works great! I would use OIPS again in the future for any plumbing work. read more

They were generally nice guys, but I should have listened to my gut as to what the issue I had really was. My heater was going out because I needed a new gutter to stop the rain from falling on my water heater, not because I had to replace an exhaust and seal the water heater enclosure. I called afterwards because my water heater immediately went out again after a heavy rain and they said it might be due to some other water heater issue and they never attempted to re-schedule. I was out 500 dollars and learned a tough lesson. If you are diagnosing a problem, try to maybe get a general handyman to troubleshoot if you are unsure. I learned that a plumber will make it a plumbing issue, an electrician will make it an electrical issue and a roofer will say it's a roofing issue. Get a couple quotes before fixing water heater/plumbing/roofing problems. read more

Empire plumbing has been such a huge help and blessing to our family. We moved 7 months ago and within the first 2 days had issues with our plumbing backing up. Our home warranty sent a plumber who was useless and wanted to dig up lines and put drains in that actually were already there but he had not worked to find them (our electrician that happened to be out found them for him ). We called Empire Plumbing and they responded quickly. We spoke with Ruben who had Sam come out since he was in our area. Sam assessed the situation and was able to fix the problem the next day. This has not been our only call to Empire since moving to our home. We have had issues with the kitchen pipes backing up as well as the tub faucet leaking between the tile and faucet. We called Ruben again who was out quickly. He also was able to assess the other plumbing in the house and a whole house repiping was done because we had original galvanized pipes from the 60's. We can not say enough good things about this plumbing company. They are reliable, competent, professional and they are really nice guys to work with. Called them in to repair my kitchen faucet leak. Plumber came in right away and replaced what he believed was the cause of the leak for $175. The sink starts leaking again the next day; I called and he came in and thought he fixed the faucet at no cost. Great. Then, sink starts leaking again the next day. Third time he came in and said the faucet needs to be replaced for an installation fee of $200. Why wasn't that suggested the first time? I could have just paid for that instead. That $175 went to waste because the problem has never been fixed. I would not recommend. 2 stars only for their great customer service. Other than that, save yourself the time and money to hire a company that will actually fix the problems. read more

Ruben was the third plumber we worked with for my parent's issue, but will now be our first call. He was the only one that was direct, honest, and upfront with what he could do, could not do, what the options were, and which would actually be useful. He was the only one who was able to actually do what he said he could do and complete the work. The other two charged us full price but didn't do a complete job. He also let us know that it wasn't a permanent fix, and quoted us the cost for the long-term solution, which was about 80% of the other quotes we received. About two weeks ago I had made arrangements with Gabe to do my master bathroom plumbing for me. He told me he would be out of town and that his assistant Richard would be doing the job for me. A few days had passed and I called back to Gabe to see if Richard would be at the house and he said that Richard was busy and that he would have his brother Reuben come out from Anaheim to do the job for me in Ontario. When I called Reuben he tossed me back and said that Richard would be out there. Well a few more days of past and Richard went out there. To look at the job did not work didn't do anything! When I called back to Ruben to tell him that I had all the parts ready for him to start to work he gave me a song and a dance that he was too busy and it was way too big of a job for Richard to do and that Richard could not handle it without the help of Gabe, but Gabe was way too busy and have too much work and couldn't help me on my job and Ruben was too busy himself to come out so they left me hanging without a plumber which left me in a domino effect with the guy who was supposed to wait for the plumber so he could install the tile and so that the cabinet maker could install the cabinet and then the painter could finally paint ( Domino effect!!) so whatever you do Not hired these people they will leave you hanging and not finish the job and leave you high and dry they are not very responsible and do not keep their word. warning stay away'!!!!!! read more

He first came out to replace the hot water heater at my house, and he did such a great job (punctual, clean, honest, knowledgable, effective/efficient, courteous) that I reached out again when my parent's house had a problem with theirs as well. In the second case, it was a bit of an emergency since the pilot flame wouldn't restart and my parents didn't have any hot water. Ruben graciously offered to diagnose the problem remotely via FaceTime--totally free of charge--solely to help us get our hot water flowing again. Our hot water heater stopped working and began leaking as well. I used Angi online and received multiple calls but no one was willing to provide me a quote without coming to my place. I know this is going to sound dramatic, but Empire Plumbing has restored my faith in humanity! Why the high praise, you ask? Well we noticed that the cold water on one of our two master bathroom faucets would come out at a normal speed then trickle down to almost nothing. We had another highly-rated local plumbing company come in and quickly diagnose it as a $225 cartridge replacement. I thought this was a bit steep so I opted for a second opinion from Empire Plumbing, who offers the rare free in-person estimate. Gabriel was able to schedule the free in-person estimate two days later and Ruben arrived on time during the designated time slot. Ruben was extremely friendly and polite and quickly diagnosed the problem as simply needing to adjust the angle stop. Obviously I felt really silly because I hadn't thought of messing with anything under the sink and it was literally a matter of turning a knob, but now I know! After fixing the issue, Ruben explained the technical side of things so I could better understand how water volume related to the cartridge and he confirmed no work needed to be done. Ruben even checked the water pressure as a bonus! I can rest easy knowing there are honest plumbers who are, sadly, sometimes vulnerable thanks to the dishonesty of some of their colleagues, and Empire Plumbing is an example of the honest side of things! Wow, I was blown away by the company and specifically Ruben. I wish they did electrical, flooring, painting, and every other trade so I could utilize their services more. I was having low water pressure in my kitchen and it turned out I had a slab leak. The first two plumbers I called quoted me $$$$$ to jack hammer out my kitchen floor to fix the pipe. Ruben has tremendous skill and plumbing knowledge, and explained to me that he could reroute the plumbing with PEX and not have to touch my floors! Thank god I didn't use the other guys, I saved a boatload. Ruben also detected the leak in a different r spot than the others, helping him make the better decision on rerouting the pipes. My main water line burst and with 5 people in the house I was in a bind. I googled for the best rated plumber in the area and they said they could come out the same day. I was expecting the best, what I got was far from it. Some carny who called himself the Supervisor showed up. He quoted me almost what I make in a month to replace a 10 foot section of the main and he quoted me the price of a used 2015 Honda Civic to replace the whole main. This guy was trying to hit a home run. It probably worked once before so he pulls it out and uses it whenever he has a customer by the balls. Any way I said Cool, I'll pay you the estimate fee and let you know. He waved the charge and that's the only reason I'm not mentioning the name of that company and leaving them a bad review. Anyway I called Gabe at Empire and he came out the next day and replaced the whole line for a fraction, a fraction! of the cost of the first estimate.
