Ok, so I'm from West Texas and moved to Dallas a few years ago. I tried a couple of different places, and my curly hair was butchered to a buzz cut. I kept going back to Lubbock to my regular person. I saw the reviews on here and decided to call. I spoke with Linda on the phone and she listened to what I was looking for in a stylist... Not to mention she is fox both in picture and in person! She recommended Tiffany that does Men's cuts with curly hair. I could not have been more satisfied with the experience. She sat down before and we talked about what I wanted, and most importantly, what I didn't want. She has an amazing personality and fun to talk to. She talked about the cut all the way through. I found this salon on Groupon.com. I contacted the salon to be greeted by a lady that changed her tone once I told her I was calling regarding a groupon voucher. She proceeded to tell me that there were no appts available. Ok no worries. I'll just make an appt for another day right? She went on to explain how she wouldn't make any money if she saw ppl with Groupon vouchers all day. I thought the point of Groupon was to bring customers into the store. If satisfied with the services they may gain the loyalty of the people they serve. Lady I'm not the one that teamed up w Groupon. Seems like you must have a chip on your shoulder. This initial conversation turned me off completely to this salon. There are hundreds in dallas that would gladly see me without providing me with a 'business lesson'. read more

After reading the great reviews on Yelp I made an appointment for a hair cut. I saw the coupon for the Kerastase treatment after making my appointment so I asked the girl who washed my hair about it. She didn't seem to know about it so I didn't pursue it. I brought a picture of the cut I wanted with lots of layers but that's not what I walked out with. The stylist seemed to just trim off the bottom portion of my hair. Most stylist give you a cut from top to bottom going through your entire head of hair, trimming off the ends. He didn't go near the sides or top of my head and blend it all together. Spent more time on the blow out than the cut. later that evening my husband & daughter asked me "I thought you were going to get your hair cut today" I said I did. First of all, I would like to say I've had long hair since I was 14. Sooo I decided to get it cut short for my 28th birthday. It was so time for a change! I am very picky about my hair so I did extensive research online before choosing Orange. I chose Orange based on the reviews, and I'm so glad I did! I freaking LOVE my hair and have had soo many compliments on it. I got my hair colored by Renee and haircut by Matt. I brought a picture of what I wanted my haircut to look like and Matt was on point! And Renee did a wonderful job on my color!! I moved to Dallas over a year ago from Phoenix and have searched and searched for a great colorist and stylist....and I finally found one at Orange! Linda was great! She listened to what I wanted, got my combination highlight / low lights perfect and did a great 'easy to take care of' cut that works well on my difficult thick hair. As a bonus, it was reasonably priced compared to most trendy Dallas salons. I would highly recommend Orange and more specifically Linda or her sister (who also works at Orange) to anyone looking for a great stylist and a great salon. read more

I moved to Dallas a year ago, and was lucky enough to stumble upon Orange, especially Tiffany. She took more time than the usual professional would on our 1st appointment to make suggestions and is very personable. I was so pleased that I continue to go there; in fact-though she may not want to read this-she now cuts both of my kids hair as well. After reading several reviews about how difficult it was to make an appt, especially if you bought the Groupon, I decided to call & make the appt BEFORE I bought the Groupon. That way if they told me it would be 3+ months, I could just go elsewhere. But...quite the opposite happened. I called around 10:30 am on a Wed & told them that I had a Groupon for the Brazilian Blowout & wanted to see how long it would take to get an appt (ok, a little white lie but no harm done). This plan back fired on me when she said...we can get you in tomorrow...what time would you like??? ruh roh. I made the appt for noon & then immediately hung up & bought my Groupon, you cant even use them until the day AFTER you buy one!! I squeaked in under the wire. So the whole booking process was actually TOO easy for me. unbelievable. Next, I wondered since, it is in Deep Ellum if it would be a pain to find parking. Nope. I parked at a prkg meter right in front of the door (there were several) & it was free until 6pm. Ashley also told me that the parking lot across the street has 2 rows of free parking just for their customers. score. OK....so everyone has heard the horror cancer-causing stories about the brazilian blowout, right? Well before we even start the process Ashley sits down with me & asks if I have ANY questions about the process or the product. She was very knowledgable about it all. She went through each step with me before we even got started, answered ALL of my many questions & even told me about how long she thought it would take. (I have above average length of hair) It was a great experience! My hair is now beautiful again! It looks super healthy (which it hasnt in many years!!)! Ashley was great!!! Super easy to talk to & made me feel comfortable the entire time. I will definitely be back to see her! & I am planning on referring a few co-workers to her too! read more

Check out the new and best colorist I've ever been to. Andy Bomberger at Salon Orange. I drive greater than 30 mi to see him for the last 6 yrs. Tried to cheat on him and used another colorist, and it didn't happen. Was so disapointed! Women still stop me to ask me where I get my hair done. This is NOT about the Groupon or Brazilian Blowout thing. My first time in here was on a whim - I hate hair cuts, appointments, anything that requires me to sit in one place. I especially hate planning. So, I was delighted to find that one of the stylists/haircutters/whatever was available that same afternoon. I have very thin hair, and it's short (something like a pixie cut) so it's sometimes hard for me to get it cut in a way that doesn't make me look like a 7yearold boy. Well, Tiffany did a great job and she definitely did NOT make me look like a little boy! She was very thorough in her questions about how I like my hair, how much time I want to spend on it in the morning, etc. She was accommodating to my preferences (my hair routine starts with shampooing and ends with conditioning) and my general hair-laziness. The end result was an adorable cut that didn't grow out into a mullet, which is sometimes a problem. It was expensive. I forget how much exactly, but it was somewhere between 50 and 70. My second time in, I came for a trim (for the same cut). However, Tiffany had forgotten my appointment and I was set up with a totally different stylist who did not do as great a job on my hair as Tiffany had. I found a new salon. read more

I am quite pleased. The new owner made up for a horrible experience I had the first time I went there and had my hair cut by the previous owner. They were very professional and courteous. The salon was beautiful and clean. It was completely different experience. Matt did an excellent job on my hair. He knew exactly what I was looking for and took the time to listen to me. I called before purchasing the Groupon for the Brazillian blowout to see how long it would take to get an appointment, and I got one for 2 days later. Super fast! Do not get a hair cut here. I expect my stylist to know more about my hair than me. The girl who cut my hair didn't take off enough from the end so I basically look like I didn't get a hair cut because the ends are still dead. The cutting she did didn't blend well so now everything looks choppy. She said she would trim my bangs after she finished blow drying me, but forgot to. I would never go back here. read more

Love love LOVE Matthew and Renee at orange! Renee did great with my color, and Matthew took his time consulting and cutting my hair. He cut it wet, blow dried it, then went through it again to make sure he got every hair. To top it off, he worked with me to get the perfect fringe in the front, re-wetting / cutting / drying as many times as needed to get the right look. So I'm from california and always had my cousin as my hairstylist. So, naturally I was nervous to go to someone new. My hair was very unhealthy from a previous relaxer I got done by aveda and all the heat products I use on my hair because I have very curly hair. So I was going to get the Brazilian to bring my hair back to life and was getting a decent amount cut off. Ashley was so great and very easy to talk too. She was very attentive and gave me great advice on how to keep my hair healthy. She was great at cutting my hair as well. I would go back to her for anything from a brazilian blowout to a hair cut! I went to this place for a while simply because it was convenient. It is really hard to get a good platinum blonde at this place, let alone when I tried to go red. I know it was a big process, but she assured me she could handle it and it was a really negative experience. I got a haircut by one of the guys that was hands down the worst cut I've ever had, and the WORST blowdry ever. My hair genuinely looked like limp lettuce. And THEN, I bought some product with the very clear statement that product return was allowed, no receipt necessary, and no time frame. After a quite swift owner change, the new owner (quite disgusting to be working the front reception of a hair salon) was outrageously rude and practically kicked me out of the salon for asking to return a barely used product. Overall, I've always wondered why this place was popular. I never saw too many people in there and was never really impressed with the work done. read more

I hate to be touched by strangers, which is probably why I've been cutting my own bangs for 4 months and haven't gotten an actual trim in even longer. I am visiting Dallas for a few weeks from NYC and unbeknownst to me my mother booked me a hair appointment as soon as I walked in the door. Anyhow, I was too tired to put up a fight, and the mess was starting to impair my vision so I figured it was worth a try. Well when I pulled up in front, I was more than a little delighted. Not to sound like I'm five, orange is my favorite color. So I was pretty psyched. So I decided to let Teresa touch my hair, since she had done a bang up job on mama dukes, and seemed to know what I had in mind. About an hour and a half later [I have lots of hair] I emerged more satisfied than I've been with a scissors-hair situation, possibly ever. I have received several brazilian blowout in the past from orange and they were great!! Noticed a groupon and decided to go for it. Verified it was for the original, NOT the zero or zero plus, they don't work for me as I have naturally curly frizzy hair. I noticed the procedure was different, but didn't think much about it. (They didn't wash and blow dry my hair after applying the solution and flat ironing it.) That was ok, I've had it many times and didn't mind doing it myself and applying the brazilian maske later at home. They also didn't use the small flat iron at the temples, again mabe ok. Hair looked great when I left and till I washed it. I use ALL the acia brazilian blowout product. My hair was horrible! Curly and frizzy. Remember, I have had several blowouts in the past, so I know what to expect. Never had anything like this. The only thing I can imagine is, they used the zero plus, which is less labor intensive. I specifically asked if I was having the original. I am upset because this was a total waste of money. Just tell me up front if it is not what I'm asking for. I normally don't write bad reviews, I just mark it up to experience and let it go but this really upset me. It happened back around christmas and I've been thinking about it ever since. What was really bad, was I had a friend, who had wanted to try orange and the brazilian for the last year and I brought her a groupon as a gift and her hair turned out the same! I felt soo bad.. I don't expect a refund or a re-do. Just beware, if you have a original brazilian blowout, and it done correctly, your hair will not be curly or frizzy for 2-3 months and certainly not 3 days later. I have heard the zero plus is worthless, looks good till you wash it then back to normal. I'm not going to name who did it, because I think it was the salon and the product they ordered. I purchased a Groupon for a Brazilian Blowout and was truly disappointed. First it took forever to get an appointment and when I finally did they hardly used any product. I questioned them about this since I've had a BB before at a different salon, but they said the other salon used too much product and this was the correct amount. My hair was not as smooth and straight as when I had it before and it lasted about 6 weeks compared to the 4 months the last one lasted. It as a waste of my time and of my money. read more

I've been getting my hair cut by Nicole Reagan for years and she's pretty much the only reason I can be seen in public -- she's a life saver!! I love her cuts because she's able to introduce something new each time, whether it be a whopping big change or something more subtle, I leave the salon knowing I got exactly what I want and with a little saucy kick to boot. Nicole knows how to work with with my fine, mousy hair and make it look awesome. I want to take a moment to say how happy I am with this salon. I'd been having some issues for the last 5 months in getting the color and cut I wanted with another stylist. I was in desperate need of color correction and Alecia greeted me on the phone when I called. I explained my situation and my anxious need to get in soon with an experienced colorist. They made a special effort to get me in and I was booked the very next evening with Linda. Linda took time to hear exactly what I was hoping for. She re-did my partial highlights that I had as well as gave me a consistent, overall color base. Unfortunately, when I had gone to my previous stylist two nights before, I had been given base coloring just at certain parts of my hair, so I had various shades for my base. Linda evened everything out by applying fresh base all over. My partial highlights she gave me are the right shade, bright just like I like them and are evenly placed. I feel like they went above and beyond, and due to their kindness and excellent service, I will definitely be a repeat customer! So great that they're in my neighborhood, too!
