There are spots to dump oil, bulk trash, metal, recycle, and of course household garbage. I highly recommend using this spot as your dump, and suggest it even more if you need to or want to save some money on garbage pick up. Get in, take a number, have a seat, wait for the number to be called, take care of business and get out - usually 20 minutes or less, unless it's a school vacation day or around the holidays - then it gets time consuming. My secret has always been to get to this location as the place is just opening up, and never try to do my business during or after lunch. The folks who work here are no-nonsense, not chatty, not unfriendly, just all business and wanting to get things done just as much as the next person. They exhibit a great deal of patience and take a lot of abuse from mouthy, know-it-all, rude people. The building is aged and the waiting area isn't necessarily comfortable - hard chairs and no frills. There is a TV screen but I don't pay much attention to it except to see when the next number is called. The atmosphere is not supposed to be something to make one want to stay here anyway.

Online, there is more information. "James Webb was born in Tally Ho, Granville County, in 1906. He grew up in Oxford where his father was superintendent of schools. By the time he was asked to run the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), he had gained a reputation as a more than capable administrator. His career to that point included serving as vice- president of the Sperry Gyroscope Company in New York, commander of the First Marine Air Warning Group at Cherry Point during World War II, and director of the Bureau of Budget and undersecretary of state for the Truman administration, in addition to early stints in the offices of North Carolina congressman Edward Pou and former governor O. Max Gardner."
