Late with this review. But I Can say this place is negligent. A year ago to this exact date my mom went into surgery here. After surgery I was advised she was in recovery and healing well. Next thing I know I'm being pulled into a room telling me something went wrong and they sent her to another facility. This dam facility sent my mom into cardiac arrest more than 5 times they gave her a mixture of the wrong blood pressure medications due to the miscommunication between the nurses and anesthesiologist!!!! And bottomed her out They did not tell me anything until they had her in an ambulance and the ambulance left!! Then I WAS TOLD she was sent to UCI when all along they sent her to ST Joseph!!!! This facility told me my mom was ok and breathing on her own when in fact she died 6 got dam times and was on life support!!!! And to top it off this negligent facility sent my mom to the hospital WITH HALF OF SOMEONE ELSES MEDICAL RECORDS IN HER CHART!!! Which was not discovered by their facility...nooo it was discovered by st Joseph hospital... thanks to orangewood my mom now has CHG and is on tons of medications not to mention the burn marks in her skin from as many times as they shocked her!!!! And she went down again and was on a ventilator due to the fluid build up in her lungs from the amount of times she was shocked... she has not been the same since going to this place!!! Investigations are still in process. So stay clear away from this place!!!

I had ankle surgery today, 6/28/24.

It was a busy Friday night, yet the staff treated my father with urgency, dignity, and genuine compassion. What could have been a chaotic and impersonal experience instead felt human and attentive. After we arrived, the ER team worked tirelessly -- not just medically, but administratively -- coordinating with insurance, social workers, and case management. When my father became stuck in the ER due to complications with his prior facility refusing readmission, the UCLA team did not give up on him. They continued advocating, communicating, and ultimately helped secure placement in a better facility after nearly a week in limbo. That level of follow-through meant everything to our family. I especially want to recognize Nurse Claire in the ER. Her kindness and humanity were extraordinary. She gave my father blankets, made sure he was comfortable, and even offered me blankets, food, and water during a long and emotional night. She cleaned my father up with such care and dignity. After 10 hours of uncertainty, she brought calm, reassurance, and genuine bedside compassion that I will never forget. I also want to thank Dr. Carson Dangberg for advocating for my father during a very unfortunate situation. His professionalism and willingness to step in made a real difference. In one of the hardest moments for our family, this ER team reminded us that healthcare can still be compassionate and patient-centered. We are deeply grateful.

The care was mediocre, the nurses were unprofessional and no accountability in the hospitals part for the lost items which was not my fault but taken off by their own nurse. Don't go to this hospital/ED if you can help it. This place here has absolutely no accountability for their errors and will just send you a letter basically stating to eat it because we won't do anything about it. Hope this will be helpful so you won't have to eat it when you lose something precious and priceless while absolutely receiving mediocre care from people who don't care at all. I was transferred to Kaiser Permanente after and the care I received there was excellent and you can feel that the staff actually gives a damn about you as a patient.

Also asked if I had any questions constantly, and was answered with great suggestions and recommendations for the sake of my daughter. At the time, me and my husband needed to make a big decision and they were patient with us, and answered every question we fired at them and they reciprocated with the best answers to give us. I had also let them know about the previous hospital, Emanate health in West Covina, how one of the nurses asked my daughter if they found her situation "funny" and how my 5 year old daughter and I found that comment from a health worker odd and the surgeon that I asked gave me the reassurance that that question was NOT okay, there was a team around us and every single one gave us reassurance that that behavior was unacceptable. Aside from that, post surgery for my daughter, nurses were constantly checking up on her, and they were the SAME ones rather than different people coming in and out of the room. Each nurse, or worker introduced who they were, why they were there and would check on my daughter. The workers here were very understanding, kind, and despite the situation I constantly thanked each nurse and person for giving her good care. Here, it seems like they took care of my daughter how they would take care of their own family Also helped me solve my issues with insurance, if you know how hectic that could be that right there deserves a 6th star lol

Like any major acquisition, there are growing pains, but the care at the bedside remains excellent. I arrived at the ER in a way I never thought possible. After a 17-hour fast and a severe allergic reaction to medication, my body shut down and I lost consciousness while driving on the freeway. Because my Tesla had Full Self-Driving engaged, the car's monitoring system detected I was unresponsive, slowed down, and safely pulled over to the shoulder--preventing a high-speed catastrophe. My wife was able to alert emergency services via Life360, and when they reached me, I was stabilized enough to stay in the vehicle as it autonomously completed the trip to the hospital. From the moment I "arrived" at the ER and walked in, I was in great hands. I was admitted overnight due to dangerously high troponin levels. Throughout the stay, the nurses and doctors checked on me frequently, kept me comfortable, and monitored my blood work until my levels returned to a safe range. I was discharged within 24 hours feeling alive and well. Huge thanks to the ER staff for their professionalism and care, to my wife for her quick thinking, and to the engineers at Tesla for building technology that literally saves lives when the driver cannot. If you find yourself in an emergency, know that the team here will take great care of you.

But the on call treating Dr. John Ziomek was rude and condescending. My imaging came back abnormal, but the Dr. was super dismissive. The Dr. was on the fence about admitting me to the hospital or releasing me with my symptoms left unresolved. He chose the latter. It's an ER room - you would think they could have done more for a paying patient. I was told I needed to see my primary doctor. Dr. Ziomeks parting words to me were "I can't help you, if you can even be helped at all". Who says that to a patient before releasing them to leave? After a quick morphine shot which did nothing to relieve my pain I was bandaged up and sent on my way. Avoid this place like a plague if you can.

I had blood pressure of 224/94, and I called 911 because of chest pain and feeling very tired. I have a history of cardiac issues and had already had a heart attack 20 years ago. I was concerned that I might be having another heart attack, so I went to Garden Grove medical center. I never saw a doctor once admitted to my room! Plenty of "staff" but no doctor! They ran some tests but never told me that they do not have access to the equipment needed to perform cardiac catheterization to look at possible damage to my heart or even say for sure if I had already had a heart attack. However, they knew my troponin was through the roof!! They let me lay in that hospital for 3 days without a way to help me. While there, I shared a room with another patient who required dialysis. They gave that patient dialysis bedside, and they had a tube on the floor that was letting blood waste go down the drain into the shower we both shared. This patient next to me was terribly ill and was coughing non-stop and then on the 3rd day suddenly a paper appeared on the wall, and my family was now required to wear a gown, mask and gloves even though this was never mentioned before and I asked to be moved but they refused! I still don't know what he had but obviously it was very contagious and could have complicated my condition even further. My fiancé came and did basically a jail break because I was leaving AMA- Against medical advice. They would not let me leave! It took 3 hours for this staff member to tell us that she could not find a place with a bed for me anywhere near by and that I needed to stay there. We fought back and said no way! I signed their documents to leave AMA, and we were able to go to my brother's house and call 911 from there. I was taken to Whittier PIH and there they have an outstanding cardiac care unit. It was determined within an hour of my arrival at Whittier PIH that I had one main artery in my heart that was 99% blocked and two others that were at 50%. Garden Grove Medical Center couldn't tell me that after 3 days!!!! If I would have laid in that bed for any more time and I would have lost my life. Thankfully we got out of there and to a place where I could get the care I needed. It scares me for myself and for others that might experience something similar to this. These people are only too happy to bill our insurance and take our money, but they don't want to care for us! I still can't believe they made us wait 3 hours when we wanted to leave to see if they could locate a bed somewhere else which didn't happen! A waste of time and it could have been the end of my life!!!!! Please don't go to this hospital!! You will regret it!
