Erick working Night Shift was honestly the best, I appreciate him so much! Took such good care of me, He was keeping me well Informed on all the tests that were being done. He kept my spirit high both literally and physically, with the morphine being give and cracking jokes! He Took his time to make sure I was taken care of! Faras then came in to pick up after Eric, He made sure that every test was finalized and made sure I was well to go home before being signed off. Honestly that doctor that came in the morning was a little heartless but I get it I wasn't dying so I understand. Other than that Erick and Faras love you guys keep up the awesome work and keep caring for people the way you guys do! Thank you and blessings! ‍

From the moment Dr. June Sadiq walked into the room, I could tell he was genuine, compassionate, and truly cared about his patients. He took the time to listen, answered every question thoroughly, and made my grandma feel comfortable during a stressful time. What stood out most was that he never made us feel rushed. He was attentive, thoughtful, and kept checking on her throughout her visit, which meant so much to our family. When I asked if he could speak with my daughter over the phone to explain my grandma's test results, he didn't hesitate. He patiently went over everything, answered all of her questions, and made sure she understood the situation completely. That level of kindness, patience, and professionalism is rare. Dr. Sadiq is truly a gem. UCI Medical Center is incredibly fortunate to have him as part of its team. Thank you for treating my grandma with such compassion and dignity. Also asked if I had any questions constantly, and was answered with great suggestions and recommendations for the sake of my daughter. At the time, me and my husband needed to make a big decision and they were patient with us, and answered every question we fired at them and they reciprocated with the best answers to give us. I had also let them know about the previous hospital, Emanate health in West Covina, how one of the nurses asked my daughter if they found her situation "funny" and how my 5 year old daughter and I found that comment from a health worker odd and the surgeon that I asked gave me the reassurance that that question was NOT okay, there was a team around us and every single one gave us reassurance that that behavior was unacceptable. Aside from that, post surgery for my daughter, nurses were constantly checking up on her, and they were the SAME ones rather than different people coming in and out of the room. Each nurse, or worker introduced who they were, why they were there and would check on my daughter. The workers here were very understanding, kind, and despite the situation I constantly thanked each nurse and person for giving her good care. One of the nurses who cared for me had 25 years of experience. As a first-time mom, I truly appreciated her expertise. Because of her decisions and support, my labor lasted only 30 minutes. Everything I wanted during labor was respected, and the staff did their best to accommodate my wishes. The postpartum care was excellent as well. They gave me a bag full of postpartum supplies to take home, which was very helpful. The only thing I was expecting more from was the food. I had heard great things about the food at Hoag, but I found it to be just okay. The only concern is a billing issue that we are currently trying to figure out because of some unexpected charges. My experience at Hoag was smooth, pleasant, and very positive. I am grateful to all the nurses and staff for making the birth of my first baby such a wonderful experience

I've had a documented diagnosis of Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome since I was 6 years old. I'm 32 now. My medical history includes years of testing and treatment for this condition, including experimental trials, multiple endoscopies and colonoscopies, gallbladder removal, and appendix removal. I'm actively managed by a gastroenterologist, a neurologist, and my PCP, and Hoag's own records from my visit this past February list Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome as my diagnosis. Despite all of this being in my chart, the PA who saw me in the ER this week diagnosed me with Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome -- a condition caused by cannabis use. My 26-year documented history of CVS predates any possibility of that diagnosis. A quick look at my own records at this hospital would have made that clear. Being dismissed with a drug-related diagnosis, when my chart tells a completely different story, felt careless and disrespectful. I've filed my concerns with the hospital and I'd urge anyone with a complex chronic condition to advocate hard for themselves here. I hope Hoag looks into how this happened, because this is not the standard of care I've received from them in the past.

I had blood pressure of 224/94, and I called 911 because of chest pain and feeling very tired. I have a history of cardiac issues and had already had a heart attack 20 years ago. I was concerned that I might be having another heart attack, so I went to Garden Grove medical center. I never saw a doctor once admitted to my room! Plenty of "staff" but no doctor! They ran some tests but never told me that they do not have access to the equipment needed to perform cardiac catheterization to look at possible damage to my heart or even say for sure if I had already had a heart attack. However, they knew my troponin was through the roof!! They let me lay in that hospital for 3 days without a way to help me. While there, I shared a room with another patient who required dialysis. They gave that patient dialysis bedside, and they had a tube on the floor that was letting blood waste go down the drain into the shower we both shared. This patient next to me was terribly ill and was coughing non-stop and then on the 3rd day suddenly a paper appeared on the wall, and my family was now required to wear a gown, mask and gloves even though this was never mentioned before and I asked to be moved but they refused! I still don't know what he had but obviously it was very contagious and could have complicated my condition even further. My fiancé came and did basically a jail break because I was leaving AMA- Against medical advice. They would not let me leave! It took 3 hours for this staff member to tell us that she could not find a place with a bed for me anywhere near by and that I needed to stay there. We fought back and said no way! I signed their documents to leave AMA, and we were able to go to my brother's house and call 911 from there. I was taken to Whittier PIH and there they have an outstanding cardiac care unit. It was determined within an hour of my arrival at Whittier PIH that I had one main artery in my heart that was 99% blocked and two others that were at 50%. Garden Grove Medical Center couldn't tell me that after 3 days!!!! If I would have laid in that bed for any more time and I would have lost my life. Thankfully we got out of there and to a place where I could get the care I needed. It scares me for myself and for others that might experience something similar to this. These people are only too happy to bill our insurance and take our money, but they don't want to care for us! I still can't believe they made us wait 3 hours when we wanted to leave to see if they could locate a bed somewhere else which didn't happen! A waste of time and it could have been the end of my life!!!!! Please don't go to this hospital!! You will regret it!

It should be shut down! Do they film horror movies here? Follow-up to hospital response: In response to your reply on Yelp.... It is impossible to get anyone to address the problem at your facility. They try to tell me that my husband with dementia isn't even there and don't know his location which is an outright lie! Your staff just has no compassion and should not be in the medical field at all. I am losing my husband to dementia. The staff really has no clue how difficult it is trying to care for someone you love, while watching them as they lose their cognitive abilities. I am all alone with no family to help out and your staff is fighting against me every step of the way. They are so unprofessional, refuse to communicate with me. They just want to deny and argue and now they think it is okay to deny him husband any contact with people he knows and is familiar with when he is already having trouble with confusion and remembering things. This is harmful and NOT helpful to his well being or what is left of it. The staff seriously needs training about HIPPA. HIPPA does not prevent me from speaking with my own husband. They are trying to use that to justify their actions. After multiple call attempts trying to speak with someone and being hung up on I finally went down to speak with your staff directly and was met at the door by two very nasty, hostile security guards with attitudes. The police are helpless. Your staff changed his medications without speaking with me, or his own PCP or neurologist who has been following him closely and treating him for over 5 years. This change of medications has caused his condition to worsen and no one at your facility will even listen. They all think they know better than his own doctors. He has been very combative and aggressive after being in your hospital for 3 weeks and was taken back there against my wishes. Your staff's inhumane treatment of using soft restraints on him is not recommended for dementia/Alzheimer patients. I love my husband very much and have so little time left to spend with him. Your staff is robbing us of that time together. They have lied to me, been very unkind, uncooperative and do not communicate at all. I suspect they are all doing this out of retallation for reporting possible insurance fraud to the insurance company. Your own weekend ER doctor admitted directly to me that some of the tests your staff performs are not necessary because the patient has symtoms but rather are routinely done in order to "get the insurance to cover the confinement". Hopefully you will address these issues as you indicate in your Yelp response to me. You have been holding my husband for nearly a week without any justification. This has caused his long term treament to be delayed twice now because he was locked up in your "Frankenstein Lab". He doesn't have enough life left to recover from the games your staff his playing with him. Someday they will have to answer to God for their unethical treatment to my husband.
