Worst hospital I've ever been to. I went into ER with severe abdominal pain roughly a year ago. Blood tests were ran. Imaging was done. But the on call treating Dr. John Ziomek was rude and condescending. My imaging came back abnormal, but the Dr. was super dismissive. The Dr. was on the fence about admitting me to the hospital or releasing me with my symptoms left unresolved. He chose the latter. It's an ER room - you would think they could have done more for a paying patient. I was told I needed to see my primary doctor. Dr. Ziomeks parting words to me were "I can't help you, if you can even be helped at all". Who says that to a patient before releasing them to leave? After a quick morphine shot which did nothing to relieve my pain I was bandaged up and sent on my way. Avoid this place like a plague if you can. read more

I noticed several negative reviews regarding the ownership here, but based on my recent life-saving experience, the medical staff, doctors, and nurses deserve nothing but praise. Like any major acquisition, there are growing pains, but the care at the bedside remains excellent. I arrived at the ER in a way I never thought possible. After a 17-hour fast and a severe allergic reaction to medication, my body shut down and I lost consciousness while driving on the freeway. Because my Tesla had Full Self-Driving engaged, the car's monitoring system detected I was unresponsive, slowed down, and safely pulled over to the shoulder--preventing a high-speed catastrophe. My wife was able to alert emergency services via Life360, and when they reached me, I was stabilized enough to stay in the vehicle as it autonomously completed the trip to the hospital. From the moment I "arrived" at the ER and walked in, I was in great hands. I was admitted overnight due to dangerously high troponin levels. Throughout the stay, the nurses and doctors checked on me frequently, kept me comfortable, and monitored my blood work until my levels returned to a safe range. I was discharged within 24 hours feeling alive and well. Huge thanks to the ER staff for their professionalism and care, to my wife for her quick thinking, and to the engineers at Tesla for building technology that literally saves lives when the driver cannot. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming, and several staff members came across as rude and inattentive. My daughter was suffering from whiplash, facial injuries, and a broken nose, yet we often felt that her discomfort and concerns were being overlooke I understand that emergency rooms are busy and stressful environments, but kindness, communication, and compassion should never be optional. Patients and families come to the ER during some of the most difficult moments of their lives and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Based on our experience, I understand why there are negative reviews. People do not take the time to write reviews like this unless they feel genuinely let down when they needed help the most. If someone cannot provide care with professionalism and compassion, then they should find another profession. Nursing is more than a job--it is caring for people when they are at their most vulnerable. Unfortunately, we did not experience that during our visit. read more

Went there a few days ago and was prescribed some medication . Not able to get my medication because they're waiting for the provided response. I've been constantly calling there services and I will say this is one of the worse call services I have ever experienced. I did come on a Friday night so i already expected some wait time but isnt that usually when the body says to go to the ER!? Lol anways i did have to wait but the other ER , Providence was so packed!! So i came to chapman global and was the only one waiting about 3 hours. Which is fine for me. I can be patient and wait. I came in with low back spasms so ideally i wasnt a first come but was so glad when they called my name and got me situated they made me feel seen and took care me and my symptoms. The nurses, staff and doctor were nice and took the time to listen. Definitely would come here again if I have another problem, even if I do have to wait a bit, but it's not as bad as Providence wait time. Thank you everyone to fixing me up quickly. read more

I came to this hospital because it was on my employer's list of clinics to go to. I took a fall at work in the parking lot. After waiting 1.5 hrs in the waiting room they finally saw me. The nurse took vitals and again I didn't see an actual dr till 2 hrs of being there. The attending Dr. directed me to do an ankle, knee, lower back and chest X-ray LOL. After the series of X-rays was done they said they now needed to draw blood, urine test and do an EKG. This was all for a fall I had. When you're a patient you don't have to agree to all the testing they're recommending. Sometimes ERs run unnecessary tests and as a patient you assume the dr knows best. Not always. I should've yelped before I came here. The Yelp rating reflected the service and the general facility of this hospital. The X-ray and CT scan technicians were curt and unprofessional esp. when telling me different ways to manipulate my body while taking the X-rays. After waiting another 30 min. If waiting for a doctor to go over my X-rays I told them I needed to go home and that it was taking way too long for someone to just over the X-rays. They made me sign a form called refusal to receive discharge information. I never did get my X-rays because I refused to wait that long. In total I was in the ER area for 4 hours! If you want to increase the chances of your loved one dying, take them to Chapman Global! Doctors would not call me back with info, poor access to records. They discharged my dad to a horrible skilled nursing facility that I expressly told them not to send him to without notifying me They would not listen to anything I told them about his conditions and sent him to a psych ward rather than focusing on treating his UTI and kidney disease. A single infection, poorly treated, ended up in 10 months between hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. He ended up at Orange County Global more recently, and they failed to call me back again and made access to records difficult. Seems like the whole organization is inept and corrupt. read more

I'm surprised this place is still in business. I came in at night for an eye emergency and was the only person in the waiting room. Yet, I sat there for two hours before they finally told me they didn't have an eye doctor on site. Why check me in if you can't treat me? The staff was good, caring, knowledgeable, and attentive but they were trying to bill the VA for services that were not performed and they were trying to charge them $4000 per day! Absolutely WORST care. I don't know how they are even in buisness especially after the countless HIPPA violations I saw. They treated me horribly wouldn't put me in a wheel chair when I couldn't walk and made me crawl on the floor and hobble to get to the back. How embarrassing, then they wouldn't help me in the bathroom when they again refused to treat me unless I drug tested. I was in screaming chest pain and they were discriminating me and told me they wouldn't treat me if I couldn't get it together. Like who talks like that???? Erick working Night Shift was honestly the best, I appreciate him so much! Took such good care of me, He was keeping me well Informed on all the tests that were being done. He kept my spirit high both literally and physically, with the morphine being give and cracking jokes! He Took his time to make sure I was taken care of! Faras then came in to pick up after Eric, He made sure that every test was finalized and made sure I was well to go home before being signed off. Honestly that doctor that came in the morning was a little heartless but I get it I wasn't dying so I understand. I wish I could give something positive about this ER experience, but I can't. I saw the negative reviews after checking my husband into the ER around 230am, and I wish I went elsewhere. The girl at the front desk was sleeping with her phone playing a movie. After giving us the forms, she proceeded to fall back asleep and kept dozing off throughout our whole stay. we were the ONLY ones in the waiting area and it still took 20 minutes for someone to come out and get us, while my husband was sitting there with sharp shoulder pain. the two nurses inside were friendly, but I briefly asked "How much longer until we see a doctor" because my husband was crying from his pinched nerve in his shoulder and some voice out of nowhere goes "you're gonna be here at least 45 minutes" ... I wasn't asking when we were leaving, I was asking how much longer to see a doctor or maybe if he could get something to help with his pain. Turns out it was a RT that decided to just butt into the conversation. When the doctor arrived (almost bald), he definitely had an arrogant attitude about him. I get that people come to the ER looking for narcotics/drugs, but you could literally see that my husband was in pain cuz he was crying, his arm was completely stiff, we've never been there before, etc. but the doctor's attitude towards asking questions was not professional. He could've been a little more caring or at least showed a little bit of sympathy/courtesy, but the whole interaction just seemed like WE were a burden to HIS night by being there. "Ohhhh, so where's the PAIN" "can you tell meeeee??" Won't be coming back, that's for sure. read more

If I could give this hospital zero stars, I would give it zero stars. If you are in need of an emergency room or any elective surgery, St Joseph or UCI Medical Center would be your best bet. The nurses were fine. The doctors are all consultation. The attending doctor was great, but he only comes once a day. Our experience with the front office to get into visit our patient was great. They abuse insurance a routine outpatient surgery was a forced four day hospital stay. We received no surgical consult even after requesting it. We had to ask to have the room cleaned and the sheets changed. The worst communication between the physicians and the nurses. We should have pulled the patient the first day and sent them to Saint Joe's. I will never ever go here and I will never recommend this place to anyone zero stars. read more

Should of learned my lesson on the first horrible experience yrs ago , brought my son in with vomiting and visual issues, migraine , numbness to face and arm left side he was 16 yrs old, I was told to take him home he had good old fashioned migraine, I asked for CT scan and the MD said "NO"he is young and he didn't need to be exposed to radiation Per MD at the ER, Mother instincts bells and whistles going off said , YES !! I want a CT scan done !! I asked several times still refusing and finally they did one , the MD came back white as a ghost after getting results from CT scan and said he needed to be rushed to CHOC for emergency surgery as he has hydrocephalus!! My son was then placed at choc via ambulance and had the surgery at St. Joes spent two weeks there , after speaking with neurosurgeon who performed surgery which was successful my son is almost 30 yrs old now and perfect as the day he was born ! Anyways he said if I would have taken him home based on migraine diagnosis he would have either died or been a vegetable!! Thank god , I didn't listen to that idiot!! I have more to say on my next review regarding other visits for minor issues, but this was of course something that has always stuck with me !! Where do I begin????? The staff can barely speak English. If they get something out, it is not with any knowledge of grammar. The staff is hostile, defensive, in need of power and control. They assume the worst. Instead of encouraging and being supportive, they place you on the defensive. Some are just 'characters', wearing a false expression. anyone with intelligence spots that in seconds. The facility itself is old, depressed looking. There's no art on the walls, no ability to use your time in creative or thoughtful ways. Scrabble, ti-tac-toe, no where to be found. The food was good, though. That department is spot on. It's sad to see that 30yrs later the same complaints for this place. I ended up coming here at the Chapman Gen hospital, in an emergency since my son just couldn't wait to be born. ER staff didn't even offer a wheelchair, my husband had to go in frantically and Find a wheelchair. There was no doctor on the floor all on call. Nurse literally told me "don't push" we have no doctor. I was kept in what looked like a janitor closet dark and dingy with a small bed in the corner under a staircase. When the doctor finally arrived, he looked as though he rolled out of bed and came in. They put me on a tall gurney for delivery, I nearly fell off not in L&D room. Doctor nearly dropped my son, he wasn't at all prepared. Much more but I'll stop here. I gave the place a hall pass because all this happened on Thanksgiving day, I thought that's why they were understaffed..but it seems very little has changed. I'm giving 3 stars because of how long it took in the ER even when they didn't appear that busy. The staff was nice but we spent 6 hours there with about 5 of those hours just sitting around waiting. There were only 2 people in the waiting room ahead of us when we first arrived. They did X-rays and CT scan, gave a shot for the pain, and placed a wrist brace. I was pleased with their treatment but I just don't understand why it took as long as it did. That's the only reason for the mediocre rating. Ultimately would return again if another emergency came up and they were the closest hospital. read more

Sweet Maybel, That is the name of the Angel who took care of me while I stayed in rm 215A Aug 21-27. The whole time I was there she treated me like I was her grown Son. She made me feel comfortable being there. Giving me great medical advice through out the days. Spoke about her family and her job. She loves her job, I can tell. I give her 5 stars. Now to rate the hospital stay overall I would give it a 3.7 I was either asleep or they didn't check on me how I was supposed to on some shifts. They never asked if I wanted to shower. I had to insist. Clean bathroom daily. The cleaning lady is on it. I was a on a liquid diet. The chicken broth is very salty. My Doctors were very informative. A bit confusing on what diet I would be on. Water, no water. Solid liquid, nothing. At the end of the day I would recommend coming here. I was fortunate to have been recieved in ER right away as I got there. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES THERE!! This place should not be able to be in business. My husband was in the subacute for 7 months. The only positive thing about this place (if there is) is the CNA's & LVN's actually do care for their patients. Shelly & Lisa were incredible LVNS and I had a wonderful experience with them both. They could do so much better than working in this hell hole. As for the 2 female RN's, MJ and I don't remember the other ones name have been there 20+ years. They do not care about the patients, are rude to family members and in my opinion are only there for a paycheck. My husband was unconscious for days and wouldn't wake up, I asked MJ to page the doctor for him to order some blood test, her response was "I Don't want to upset the doctor" only until I threatened to call 911 and have him taken to hospital did she act. It took her 5 days to get blood work, and he was severely dehydrated. The DON, Octavio is a so unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. One of the staff members actually told me he was speaking badly about me to the staff. On one occasion, I had a meeting with my husband's speech therapist, she was running late and I had to wait in the lobby for an hour for her. I asked if I could wait in my husband's room with him. They had to get approval from Octavio, who said NO to make me wait in the lobby. The speech therapist was so embarrassed and apologized for Octavios response. I sent an email to Teresa, the CEO of the hospital, to address my many concerns and she said she was going to have her assistant reach out to me to set up an appointment that never happened. I had enough of the delay of care and negligence and decided to bring my husband home. Before he was to be brought home, his doctor said he had a mass on his kidney but they couldn't tell if it was cancer or not without doing a CT. They said my husband wouldn't fit in the CT machine just go ahead and take him home. Mind you he was only 190 lbs. I said, NO I wanted the CT scan before he came home to see if it was cancer. After getting Medicare involved, they finally did his CT scan oh and BTW he fit in the machine. What a surprise!! My husband had CKD and was given a contrast for this scan. 3 weeks later my husband died and I believe it was because of their negligence of giving him the contrast. I tried for months to get him placed somewhere else, but with no case manager for the subacute. I was lost!!! I was told that Octavio would assist, that never happened. I had to go into the hospital side and beg and cry for someone to please help me get my husband out of this place!!! Avoid this place at any cost. Yelp why can't we give out ZERO's where do I began?! I know I know CUSTOMER SERVICE! My mom was admitted for surgery this is the 3rd time it was R/S before they finally went ahead and gave us the green light to bring her. Yesterday she had her surgery the doctor called me to give me an update. The doc was wonderful but he's only affiliated with this place. Then again how great is he if he recommends this place for recovery. This morning my mom calls she was almost in tears at how she hadn't eaten, she was all the way at the feet of the bed no one bothered to help move her, her O2 was no longer being monitored someone turned it off in the dead of night. She was in a double occupancy room during Covid. I said ok I work in a hospital try to relax she said and they're rude and mean. I said ok let's keep calm you're not there forever and it's not that bad I'm sure. Welllllllll it was Mom pressed call button someone answers yea...she said can I speak with a nurse these idiots sends in a CNA I'm on the phone so I hear her she can't answer any questions you know why because she's a CNA. Later on today my mom is starving the food sucks she can't eat it we got permission from Laurie( Complete TOOL) to bring food I said ok I'm on my way remind you it's 12:15 I get there at 12:36 Front desk were kind sweet enough, they take my temp, gave me my wristband and call to say she's on her way up Laurie immediately yells NO SHE IS NOT!!! Visiting is OVER!!!! She said ok but she called and you....NO NO VISITORS!!!! She said can someone come get her moms food Laurie: NO! And you know better than to call here knowing visiting hours are up she slams the phone down in the ladies ear. I call my mom Laurie is talking over the call light in my mom room she tried to say she wasn't directing her frustration out at me but towards the clerk, I said it doesn't MATTER! You don't talk to ANYONE like that poor lady that was rude and I'm filing a complaint you had me drive here knew I worked around the corner and you would not let me come up she said you can talk to my supervisor I said no I know how that goes. Me and my boss are friends so no I don't wanna speak to anyone on the floor. I work in a hospital and if I ever spoke to a patient or a family member the way you did I would be FIRED! This is a serious issue I'm scared to have my mom at this place and they're keeping her away from visitors now I mean seriously. The care here is trash I am so SICK OF people going to nursing school and have no bedside manner it's disgusting too many people do it for the money and at this place it clearly shows. If you don't LOVE what you do then QUIT! Nursing has become all about the mighty dollar and this place shows. I'm so glad I work with nurses that car this place is the ghetto and trashy. I went in for an eye injury & the doctor concluded they did not have the resources to help me there. I received no medical care and they proceeded to refer me to a different hospital. I ended walking out of their facility and drove to St Josephs where I received the proper care. The negative review is not because the lack of help, It is the ridiculous medical bill I received in the mail 3 months later. I was billed $2,652.20 for literally walking through their door and receiving nothing in return. If you want to feel ripped off this is the place to go. I spent more time filling out all the paper work with my social security number and contact information for the future bill then I did for any medical service. Just know, if you go here, the bassline cost before any medical treatment is going to be a minimum of $2,500. Attached is my bill. Be Warned! For reference I did call their billing department to explain the situation and was only offered a payment plan for the full amount. They recommended I speak to my insurance company to try and get them to cover more of the bill. I have no problem paying a reasonable amount for the visit, but thousands of dollars for nothing is a rip off. This medical center is straight up predatory. I would not recommend going here under any circumstance. *I will happily update this review if they decide to work with me on the cost of the visit, but until then, I guess I am out $2.5K if I don't want to destroy my credit! read more

It wasn't because she was with another patient she was at her desk the entire time. We kept getting the student nurse who were kind but had questions we wanted to speak to the nurse who seem to completely ignore us. They need to re-evaluate the nurses at this hospital. Wow! I could not be more impressed with this gem! I have been in the healthcare field for over 15 years and have always struggled to find superior care. On Wednesday afternoon, I received a call from my daughter stating that she was just bucked off a horse. Her left hip was in throbbing pain and had all the symptoms of a concussion. I drove to her immediately and searched for the closest hospital. It was Chapman Global Medical Center. I had never been to this ER but knew she needed care quickly. From the minute we pulled up, there was a nurse walking out to assess our situation. We were brought back immediately. We were greeted by each staff member as we were wheeled back. Within 10 minutes, we met Dr. Coombe who would be our physician. I was beyond impressed with Dr. Coombe. He was extremely thorough with his examination and explained everything he was doing. He even took the time to explain what he was thinking and the steps he wanted to take. He even printed out some documentation supporting his decision. Dr. Coombe also came in several times to check in on her, see how she was doing and update us on his findings. I could not have been more impressed!! We walked in had a full examination, an x-ray of her hip, CAT scan of her head, multiple conversations of the finding, prescriptions and discharged within 2.5 hours. I don't even think we would have been in a room in most ER's. Thank you to Dr. Coombe and the entire staff at Chapman Global Medical Center for your excellent care!! I had a hamstring surgery at another facility. I couldn't go to the bathroom afterwards. I needed a catheter. I went to Chapman Global Medical Center's emergency room. At first, everything was going great. They only had one other patient and they were able to take care of me right away. Then there must have been a shift change and I had a new nurse. Without getting gross, she kept checking the bag. I told her I could feel her pulling it out. She told me everything was fine. The flow stopped. I told her that. She told me everything was fine. The pain became excruciating. They brought in the head nurse. He told me that I needed help for my anxiety, but didn't check the bag. Same thing with the doctor - twice he saw me but never checked the bag. I started calling out for anyone to please help me. The staff laughed at me and ignored me. I finally checked myself. The new nurse pulled the catheter out so that I had been lying in a puddle of urine, with my surgery gauze completely soaked. I again called for help and was ignored. Finally, the nurse that pulled the catheter out offered to put a new one in. Ha. I told them that I was going to go to another hospital. They said that was fine. With the door and curtains opened, one of the more senior nurses pulled my sheet off, exposing my naked body to the whole emergency room. They laughed when I struggled to find my clothes and cover myself. When they brought the wheel chair, I reminded them that I just had hamstring surgery and my leg could not be bent, which is why I was wearing a brace. The nurse brought the wheel chair too close. Instead of backing the wheel chair back so that my leg could remain straight, she proceeded to try to force my leg to bend! I (not so politely) reminded her that we could not bend my leg. She threw her arms up in the air and said, 'fine, you do it then' with a ton of attitude. They again laughed at me as I tried to back up the wheel chair. One nurse was kind enough to wheel me out. When I got out front, they did not call my husband to pick me up prior to putting me out front. So, I had to wait outside in surgical garb, soaked in urine, for my husband to arrive. My wound ended up getting infected and it took several rounds of antibiotics to kill the infection and it took longer to heal. To make matters worse, when they called me to see how I was doing, I relayed to the doctor everything that happened. They blamed it on the new nurse who was a new hire. I received an email asking for feedback. I gave it and never heard from them. Last, you'll receive a bill that says if you don't pay within a certain number of days, you'll be assessed a late fee. The bill also says that if you want to pay via card, you have to call the listed number. If you call the listed number, no matter the time of day, no one answers. The system will eventually send you to an operator who will transfer you to someone who has a title that has nothing to do with billing/payments. You're on hold for a long time to get to this point. I left a voicemail with that person. Two weeks later, I called again and had the same experience. A month and a half later, that individual finally called me back to accept my payment over the phone. I told them that I had mailed in a check for payment because I didn't want to be assessed a late fee. I also told her that I left my voicemails over a month and a half ago. She didn't care. My grandfather was admitted here. I was annoyed with one of his RNs when she called me and was giving me the run around before even asking the real question she was getting too. Bottom line up, cut the nonsense and talk straight. She was flustered because he kept trying to get out of bed and it was clear how exasperated she was over the phone. Made me question her credibility as a nurse, really. When I got to the floor because I was visiting grandpa anyway, she HUGGED me. Relieved that we were there like we were to save the day. At first I didn't mind it because I was like--- okay, I was mean over the phone and wanted to apologize to her anyway, but then it's like... dude, COVID precaution --- Why are you touching me? The other reason why I'm giving Chapman Global a 1 star is because of a HIPPA violation. I'm not going to do more than complain on YELP because it would have to involve more family members who want to put this to bed, but basically ---- a disowned family member went around calling to see which facility grandpa is at and Chapman Global told her that he was discharged. You are not suppose to let anyone who is not on their face sheet any business of the patient: Whether they are there, what room number, condition, and even if they've been discharged. read more

Run if you're able. Anywhere else would be better. There's a valid reason this place will no longer be an emergency room.

I came in for knee surgery on the 4th of January 2023. Met with the Nurse Abigale, who was so sweet, and we discussed her zip lining through the Philippines, as she kept my mind off the "surgery" part. The entire Staff here is Fantastic and so Caring. I had the best experience! Dr. Cheung did a fantastic job with my knee. I don't feel the pain I used to anymore. What a relief! Still need some PT to strengthen my leg as I've noticed it atrophie considerably since the beginning of last year when I first hurt it. But now I'm so excited about getting back to working out and teaching kickboxing again. Thank you Dr. Cheung, Nurse Abigale and the entire Staff there. I'm so Grateful to you ALL. Much Love! read more
