In the Eames room

This little gem is our favorite place to stay! Clean and quiet and the staff are super friendly! We love the decor, and the rooms and pool are well maintained. Looking forward to our next trip here!

The Orbit In appears to be a converted 1950's apartment complex. When we arrived, we were greeted by Bill. He was friendly, fun, and incredibly helpful. He went to great lengths to show us around and help us understand all the amenities available to us. There are about nine rooms here, and we stayed in the Rat Pack Room. The room had a full period kitchen, period bathroom, and period living area with a comfortable king bed. In the room is a record player, and there are records you can borrow from the office to play in the room. The TV has many Chanel's from which to choose. The WiFi was strong. The couch and armchair couldn't be more comfortable. The 1950's theme is carried well throughout the room There is a jacuzzi, fire pit, outdoor bar (Bill offered, and we accepted, a complimentary glass of wine), Keurig available 24 hours, a common outdoor fridge stocked with snacks and sodas. We met and talked with a couple who have been coming here for 15 years. I completely understand why. We will return!

Cool, hip little boutique hotel with a 50's flare. Second time we have stayed here and love it. The 50's vibe is so cool. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms and pool area are always clean. We love walking out of our room and being steps away from the pool. They don't allow personal music or partying by the pool, which keeps the riffraff out. They do play a little music on their speakers, but wish it was slightly louder so you could hear it. The mornings are nice grabbing breakfast at the outdoor bar. We love this place and will be back.

PARADISE! This place is still as wonderful as always. The new manager Robert is great. We loved Bill the previous manager but learned he moved on (don't assume the new owners let him go, not the case) and we enjoyed getting to know Robert. It's obvious that Robert cares about the hotel and about his position and he even noticed leaves on our patio when our gate was open and swept them up himself! POOL: The pool is very clean and well maintained. I observed the pool professionally serviced twice during our stay and every office employee personally skimmed the pool daily. Great layout around the pool with options for shade and the vibe is so RELAXING. This is not the hotel for a pool party, it is truly a replenishing and wonderful place to soak in the sun. AMMENITIES: Orbit In provides the use of beach cruisers, some with baskets for fun rides around town. There is a closet full of books and games to use by the pool or in your room. They have record players in every room and a vast library of vinyl to choose what you like. A sunscreen selection and bug spray is offered by the pool. They have a great poolside bar area where guests can make coffee or tea, a microwave for guests (which is great to hear up dinner left overs) as well as a nightly ORBITINI cocktail served to guests where you can get to know the other guests and socialize. And last but not least, a fridge full of sparkling water and soft drinks and yogurt for guests to enjoy. There are granola bars and instant oatmeal for snacks too! STAFF: The ladies that maintain this hotel do an AMAZING job and work their butts off in sweltering heat. Much credit is due to the ladies that keep Orbit In beautiful! Very nice too! This hotel is a GEM and it's great to see the new owners are not trying to change it. They are all only improving it. My husband and I love to watch movies in our room when it gets too hot and I learned they are upgrading TVs soon so that is wonderful. For those of you that have been here before and worry that new owners mean Orbit In will lose the things that make it special, don't. It's clear that the Orbit In remains in good hands!

Record player, so cute!!

If you are considering staying here, do yourself a favor and just book the room. If I could give Orbit In more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. My boyfriend took me to Palm Springs for my birthday and Kevin and Jinny made it one of the best birthdays I had ever had. We loved exploring Palm Springs but being able to come back to the Orbit In at the end of each day was the highlight of my whole trip. We stayed in the Rat Pack room which was so spacious with a kitchen, large bed, and a super cute pink bathroom! The hotel is incredibly clean and absolutely gorgeous. If you're a vintage furniture lover, you'll be in heaven. They have a fridge full of sparkling waters, drinks, and yogurts for their guests. I absolutely LOVED the happy hour and drinking orbitinis with other guests. The pool is heated to a very comfortable temperature and the hot tub is so relaxing. I had never tried a salt water hot tub until I stayed at Orbit In and now I don't want to use anything else! I can't thank Jinny and Kevin enough for being so welcoming and kind to us. Staying at the Orbit In was the relaxing weekend I needed and now I'm looking for an excuse to go again!! Absolutely wonderful hotel and wonderful people.

I miss this pool already!

This is a long overdue for Orbit In. My planned trip to Portugal this year had to be placed on hold due to this whole COVID craziness, so at the last minute I ended up in Las Vegas for a few days and then out to Palm Springs the week of July 4th. I ended up at Orbit In and could not have asked for a better experience. The place just oozes vintage mid-century modern! The rooms are all individual and decorated with a theme. I stayed in the Frey Lounge for the first half of the week which celebrates the architecture of Albert Frey. It has a fireplace (I couldn't get it to work, but to be perfectly fair, I also didn't say anything about it or ask for help), and an outdoor shower, which was amazing! Then I moved next door to BossaNova Ville (someone had already reserved this room for two days in the middle of my stay) which has a vintage Platner chair. I loved the coziness and privacy of the room. The pool is salt water and is so warm and relaxing! They have a fridge with sparkling waters (all different flavors), sodas, and juices. And around 5:00 or so, they have a happy hour with Martinis and wines. I never took part, as I was the only single person during my visit, but it looked cool! Plus, I'm a bit of an introvert. The owners were wonderful, and Bob made sure I had everything I needed. They even gave me a T-shirt just because. Oh! Did I mention the record players in each room, and the giant record collection in the office? Nothing like a little Sinatra while relaxing in the Frey Lounge. The best throw-back experience I've had in quite awhile. I will most definitely be back!

I wish I could give this place 10 stars!!!! From the second I stepped foot on this property, I was IN LOVE!! Bill is the nicest guy and went so far above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of at all times. Then you step foot in the room and it's like a traveling back in time! The rooms (especially the pink bathroom) are amazing! The esthetic, decor, and vibe of Orbit In are so amazing. I was so sad when it was time to go home. If I could, I would move in immediately! I've already told 10 friends about it (they saw my pictures and wanted to book their own trip) and cannot wait to come back soon!! Definitely come check this place out! It's one of the best places I've ever stayed!!! Thanks Bill, Jade, and Orbit In staff!! Xo

Another special boutique hotel in the oh so special Palm Springs (home sweet home). This is a mid century modern little gem that transports you to another era, that's what you want right?! Rooms adorned with vintage decor and a record player in each room to add to the nostalgic experience. The hotel is nestled against the mountain. Look up and see soaring palms, beautiful mountains and houses perched within. (sigh) It is walking distance to Palm Canyon Drive too. The rooms surround a saltwater pool. This is awesome! Thank you for the chlorine free experience. They serve Orbitini cocktails at happy hour from 5-6pm. This gives you the Rat Pack experience as you spin a Frank Sinatra Album in your room. They also serve a basic continental breakfast to get your day going. If you want a special experience that takes you away come visit Orbit In.

We loved this place 20 years ago and we still love it now. The vintage atmosphere is so relaxing. The owners are so nice and had the pool heated up nicely for the cooler winter months. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The Orbitini martinis are delish! Lots of restaurants nearby with curbside and delivery during these Covid times.

This was our first visit but won't be our last. The owners are very friendly and attentive hosts. Everything was very clean and inviting and the complimentary happy hour, snacks, record and movie selection, and other amenities made it a very pleasant stay. We can't wait to come back! Thanks for everything!

I hate giving good reviews but FINE! So this place is good for you if you appreciate vintage right down to the loungey pool music. Its super small so don't go there expecting a party even though they do have a martini happy hour! The room we stayed in was small but had everything we needed, fridge, plates, cups, napkins, a lil private patio and bluetooth record player. And again, vintage bathroom, pink tile, sink and toilet. They also let you use one of their many albums. They usually serve continental breakfast but during covid just coffee, yogurts, granola and instant oatmeal. They also have a water cooler and a fridge with soft drinks thats available 24 hrs. Also offer snacks in the lobby, when someone is in the office. Lastly, location! Walking distance to downtown, maybe 10 min?? We'll definitely be back!

From the moment we arrived, though, La Serena Villas made us feel completely at ease. The customer service was truly impeccable from check-in to check-out. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant to work with. When we arrived, we were immediately offered a prickly pear champagne beverage. After I mentioned that I'm allergic to alcohol, the staff instantly offered me a lavender lemonade instead without missing a beat. I'm usually not a fan of lavender-flavored drinks at all, but this one was so surprisingly delicious that when I checked out, I actually asked if they sold it. They don't, unfortunately, but they were kind enough to offer me another glass as a parting gift, which was such a thoughtful touch and perfectly captured the level of care and hospitality throughout our stay. The villas themselves were amazing. Everything was pristine, beautifully maintained, and spotless. The overall vibe of the property was quiet, peaceful, and deeply relaxing, which made it feel like a true escape. I genuinely enjoyed every moment I was there and am already looking forward to booking my next stay. The property is small but quite nice. Pool is kinda crammed in there, with fewer chairs than guests should the hotel be sold out, and it's right in front of the restaurant, putting your swimsuit ass on display for anyone looking to dine. But there is a spa past the "guests only" sign, away from the pool, so that's at least an option. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Reminded me of a casita. Shower is huge and has great pressure. Pocket doors all around, nice. Hot tub in back is killer and having a fire pit next to it makes the backyard lounging even more inviting on a crisp night. Free breakfast is full of solid choices. Not-free food and drinks are good but, holy hell, is it overpriced. I hate that we're at a place where drinks are $20 on average for alcohol that hasn't been getting more expensive. I just drink less so good for me, I suppose? I got a surf & turf for $55 and it was flank steak and about 15% of it was fat. It came with three shrimp. Sad. Excellent service. Everyone was polite, accommodating, pleasant. No complaints there at all.

I grew up in San Diego and we had a second house in Indian Wells so I used to come out to this area often growing up and it's good to be back in a comfortable setting. I would say that the Ritz Carlton is probably the best hotel in the Coachella Valley given that there are very few other five star options. It's located in Rancho Mirage pretty much right in between Palm Springs and Palm Desert. It's located on the top of a large hill so it has great views of the valley. They have a steakhouse on site called The Edge, which has it selling feature being these views and the great steak. The hotel is not extremely large. It only is three floors, but it's a perfect size in that it doesn't seem too large or too busy ever. We chose the club lounge which allowed us to have free food and drink pretty much all day and they did a great job with adding new options to the menu. There is not an on-site parking lot so it will be valet parking only. Originally opened in 1988 and then reopened again in 2014 after a major renovation this place has been a staple of the desert for decades. The one strange issue we had is that we when we checked in we found adult sex toys in our bedside cabinet drawer, which was extremely odd for a Ritz Carlton so I would suggest that the cleaning crew check for these things but luckily we were a couple of adults without kids so it wasn't an issue just odd. The rooms themselves are well done and large with a full tub and shower and comfortable beds. Room service is also really good and the whole resort really lives up to the Ritz Carlton standard. I would definitely recommend if you are visiting the desert and I will be back again in the future.

SERIOUSLY help that horrid property out. Here at Ritz Rancho Mirage from the moment we arrived, we were greeted by all the wonderful valet men at the driveway. Bright happy smiles. Checking in was a breeze, with smiles, excellent customer service, and a super quick process. As we walked through the hallway towards the elevators, we were greeted by several staff members who said hello to us. Every employee we encountered at the property seemed to enjoy their job. It was such a wonderful day to see the Ritz Carlton stuffies for kids, three different options. Our kids chose the ram. Our family is known for collecting all the Ritz Carlton memorabilia and visiting all the properties around the world. So for this property to have three stuffies was a surprise The sweet, friendly young woman at the front desk showed them all the options, they could choose from. Our Family really loved our room. We again booked two connecting rooms. A double bedroom comes with a couch and is very spacious. The king bed also came with a little couch. The first floor had a very unique vibe that we all liked. The decoration of the Crystal lights was very cool. The bathrooms were all looking like they had a complete renovation. Big huge bathtubs for our little toddler to swim in his bubble bath in. Housekeeping staff I give them a 10! Phenomenal job all you amazing ladies and gents working in housekeeping. All of them were friendly, checked on us, offered more towels. Our room was serviced EVERY time we came back to the room, clean, spotless. Not like the disgusting Ritz Half Moon bay. The housekeeping crew here all were on top of their duties with great smiles and attitudes. We happily will be bringing more cash for them next time. Very hard workers. I appreciated all of you guys in housekeeping. The family pool was amazing! It was not overcrowded and it was clean, all the music playing was completely perfect for families. They keep the area very clean and the staff was always checking in on us to see like to order anything else or needed anything. The service at the Pool side is five star! The view from the property is spectacular! My family really was surprised at night that there was a star watch around the pool. We were able to see through the huge telescopes two distant stars. What a great treat. We all did enjoy the shops there at the resort. They had a great attire for the entire family. Dad found a wonderful shirt and our toddler found the cutest swim shorts. We don't like to do so far. This one is the best Ritz in terms of on site shopping. Overall, our family had a five star one experience at this property. So wonderful that I am very sure we will be booking more visits through the year.I cannot tell you enough how nice, accommodating and friendly staff is here at the property. If you have fur babies go ahead and bring them along ..this property is dog friendly! Our two Frenchies really enjoyed their time here.. being spoiled by the staff. They give water bowls and dog treats. There are many dogs in the property during our visit. Each of them were also happy to be able to socialize with their families as we could tell. If you can't tell...I Love the Ritz Rancho Mirage.

The extra rolls under the sink were unwrapped. When coming to our room a few hours after check in, calling customer service (calling three times) took more than an hour, just for us to be told that the lighting and cleanliness issues will be solved in the morning. Was really looking forward to the experience but upon our first few hours, we felt unwelcome, uncomfortable and turned off of our whole stay. Especially when faced with the lack of cleanliness in the restroom, if our bathtub could be so apparently dirty, what else could they have missed? We were forced to spend the first few hours fixing up our room before starting to feel comfortable. This meant scrubbing the bathtub, washing every dish and checking every surface. With the lengthy and detailed check in process, we were really expecting a quality, travel worthy experience. Instead, it felt we were greeted with an unclean, uncomfortable welcome. As guests, it was made obvious to us that customer service was not at the forefront of our experience. I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.
