Last-minute trip with the family to Palm Springs turned out so fun and memorable here at the dunes hotel. I went the weekend of June 26 through the 28th. The staff was incredibly sweet. The check-in process was so easy and smooth and I must add that pricing for the weekend was so affordable, all the rooms were renovated. The location was perfect. We were able to walk around the downtown area. I can't wait to come back the only thing I did wish that they had more of was their snack /breakfast options. Other than that, it was perfect. They even had bar set up by the pool which was awesome for all the adults lol . They didn't have hard liquor which sucked, but they did have beer and seltzer at a really reasonable price. We booked the Dunes for a relaxing trip to Palm Springs to spend time next to the pool. Unfortunately, the pool and Spa had a nasty body scum ring that circled the whole entire pool and hot tub, floating debris in the hot tub, you could take your fingernail along the rim of the pool or the hot tub and scrape all the body gunk and scum off with the buildup piling up under your fingernail. The pool was filled with cloudy bluish green water... I reported this to management on the second day, they followed up with I'm sorry, I would be disappointed as well, and that they will have their pool and maintenance team on it right away... That was just something to say try to make me feel better, never once during our stay did pool maintenance or pool cleaning company come and test the water or try or attempt to clean the pool or Hot Tub. The whole idea was to get away from the busy world and to come out to Palmsprings to soak in the pool and Hot Tub was a complete failure... Although our check-in process with Paulina was pleasant, the management and the ownership completely dropped the ball, and clearly showed that they do not care about the cleanliness of the pool, I am confident that if sanitary testing measures were taken, the pool would be shut down due to the filthy nature of the water and disgusting body scum ring. There are 1 vending machine only had Diet Coke left, and the snacks were stale. I would not recommend the dunes. read more

Booked this room, and when we showed up, I knew I've been here before. It was the Quality inn a few years back when we stayed here , I didn't know it turned into the Dunes Hotel. This hotel was given a complete makeover . Our room was up to date, with a flatscreen tv and multiple charging ports. Just bring your own charging cable. Also Coffee machine and electric kettle and mini fridge. The Dunes hotel also has bikes for the guest if they want to use them . Since it was hot out, I passed on the bikes. They have a really nice lobby to chill out in . I mean wow, they really did a great job improving this property . No keys or key cards just codes to get in your room or access to the property. Now, parking can be real tricky . It can get really crowded to where all the parking spots get filled. There is parking on the street but I'd check with the front desk to make sure it's safe or allowed. They also have a gym with a Peloton to my surprise . A decent hotel for a good price right in Downtown Palm Springs where there's a lot of restaurants and bars . If you need some of the essentials, there's a grocery warehouse across the street . Definitely worth a look if you're planning to visit Palm Springs, I'm definitely would be coming back . read more

Just came back from a 4th of July event with some friends and my daughter wanted to grab a snack and I stopped by the mini market that they have for a drink and David the "Auditor" on 4th of July was there and asked me what room number I'm staying in, I told him I had gotten a something earlier in the day and I paid with Apple Pay and they didn't ask me anything. He said something about nutrition something and was checking my room number and it was very uncomfortable him looking up my room file and he's like in the auditor and even though I paid with Apple Pay it took him like over 10 minutes for me to pay and get back to my room and now I'm a little scared to even sleep there read more

Stayed here for the 3rd of July last year and we had a great time. The pool is a perfect size but I'm sure if it's busy it can get a little crowded. You can relax and enjoy a view of the San Jacinto mountains and a cocktail. The hotel is beautifully newly remodeled. The first room we had, the ac kept shutting off on us and the manager personally took us to a new room and apologized. It's not far from downtown. The lobby has a beautiful mod mod fireplace as well. Stayed one night for a girls' trip. The hotel was definitely upcharged for the busy weekend, and honestly, it didn't quite feel worth the price. That said, we still had a great time overall and appreciated being able to use the pool even though we couldn't check in early. The location was super convenient, which made getting around really easy. The "morning coffee and pastries" situation was kind of comical--think airplane snacks, not a continental breakfast. On a lighter note, the carpet art in the room gave us a laugh--quirky and weird. Decent stay, but probably wouldn't rush back at that price point. read more

Check in was a little different. Its done through text. They don't use physical keys, but give you a code that works all of the doors. The staff in the lobby were outstandingly friendly and helpful. They gave me directions to get to some nice restaurants nearby. The corridor to my room, 111 was a little weird.. its like it used to be the kind where you pull up to hour room and enter from the parking lot, but now its been closed off for safety with decorative cinder blocks. The room was very nice. I had a king bed, there was a nice chair and a side table. The little retro fridge was cute and functional. There are no microwaves in the room, but there are two in the ice/vending area. That room was also nice a tidy. You do have a little coffee maker and I think electric water kettle. There is also a small ironing board, iron and hair dryer in the room. I appreciated the laminate flooring as I know its easier to keep clean. The bathroom area was well appointed. They offer soaps and shampoos in pump action, resuable containers that I can appreciate. My only caveats are the lights are a little awkward to turn on/off. And theres only one for the bed. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and would absolutely not hesitate to stay there again. read more

This was my first stay at the Dunes. First impression; the signage and the lobby were very nice! 5 stars. The room; the mattress was decent. Pretty soft as far as hotels go. 4 stars. The AC was another issue. We had a second story room and it was uncomfortably warm! My parents were on the first floor. There room was cold. We ended up switching each other rooms. 3 stars. My elderly parents did not like the key pad entry. My dad didn't have his glasses and couldn't remember the 6 or 7 digit code! He got locked out of the property!!! I normally stay here when I work in the area. On the second day of a four day stay, the TV stopped working. I reported it to the front desk & they said no problem, they would take care of it. . Returned from work on day three still no tv. Went to the front office & they said they just notified repair service & were waiting for reply (almost 24 hours after I first reported it).Person at front desk said everyone staying here had been notified..I said not true, nobody notified me..or I would have checked out this morning. No discounts or compensation whatsoever.I used to enjoy staying here.. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

This hotel was amazing. The service was great. Love the self check in option. They'll send you a text throughout your stay to see if you need anything. You can always text them for more towels, toiletries, etc. I loved that each room came with a mini fridge. Very convenient. They also have microwave downstairs by the pool. The pool was amazing and big. It was very spacious. And the Jacuzzi was great but a little dirty. I also like this hotel because it is walking distance to everything. Our check-in time was 4:00 PM, but upon arrival we were informed by the front desk that they were understaffed and that our room was not ready. There were around 25 guests waiting in the lobby for the same reason. It is now 4:30 PM, and the staff could not provide any estimate for when rooms would be available, only asking us to continue waiting. What a great find! Just one block from downtown and the casino means puts this property in a great location without buzz of Palm Canyon. The room was generously sized, bed comfy, water pressure great, and the entire campus super-well kept up. The pool and leisure areas were fantastic with tons of lounge chairs, a few cabanas, and a nice tucked away area for dogs and families. 10x better than the area chains and for the price we paid, I have no notes. Great place! Check in was the best. They text you a pin that lets you in everything including the pool. You never have to speak to anyone and if you need anything you can send a text. Contactless is great It's quiet so you don't feel overwhelmed by party people. The pool is the perfect size and their little cabanas were first come first serve. Although it was super hot! They have these misters by the pool so it's super fresh! The rooms were comfortable and CLEAN. My favorite was the soft beds. They are directly across the street from grocery outlet SUPER convenient. We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff has great customer service, the rooms were clean, and they had many indoor and outdoor games for guests. There is an on site snack store which we liked. The front desk was kind enough to let us use the pool after check out before we left. The pool was warm but they have misters that let out cool water so just lounging by the pool was very relaxing. The one and only downside here is that there aren't any drawers and limited closet space so if you're traveling with more than 2 people per room it's best to pack light. Our room was cool when we entered and we had the option to lower the temperature and the room got pretty cold so that contributed to a great nights sleep. Most hotels especially remodeled ones will give away just how lazy they were on a remodel in their restrooms but this place did not. The restroom was great! Nice and clean and everything looked brand new. I would definitely stay here again! read more

I was just trying to access the so-called 24/7 market to get some water. Worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. We have stayed here twice now and this place! I recently took 5 teenage girls to Palm Springs for a sweet 16 birthday weekend and everyone had a blast. The rooms are clean and the property itself is well kept and charming. The girls loved going to the lobby at night where they have a few really cute seating areas to sit and chat, board games, a fire place, etc. Each night they would go hang out in the lobby and would come back to the room raving about an employee named David who no doubt was a great sport putting up with all their silly teenage girl energy. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, charming hotel near downtown Palm Springs. read more

We stayed at The Dunes for 1 night and had a great stay. The check in process was easy and had a nice front desk staff that was available to answer any questions via text. It was nice everything was keyless, one less thing to carry or remember to bring with me. The room was spacious, included a refrigerator, coffee and cable. The gym had peloton equipment (bike and rower) and some free weights. The pool was a great place for my toddler to use up some energy. There was plenty around the hotel to sit outside or inside to enjoy games and have somewhere to eat our takeout. First time in Palm Springs and this hotel. Arrived around 2pm, was told check in was 4pm but for $25 I could check in early for my prearranged room. The employees I encountered were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking in the surface lot. The elevator is small and old but worked. The room was clean with a nice view outside the front door. The little retro fridge was a nice touch as was the in room coffee. Odd not having an in room to contact the front desk or housekeeping. The bathroom was roomy and came with shampoo, body wash, etc. My only complaint is the bed was too soft for me. I'm guessing others might like it but it kept me from getting a good nights sleep the 4 nights I was there. There was an issue with the internet my first night but it was working the next day. It's close to shopping and many restaurants are within walking distance. My first time getting a code for all the doors instead of a room key or keycard. The room was cleaned and freshened daily without asking or putting the clean room sign out. read more

We stayed at the Dunes Hotel in late April and were disappointed. Room 202, had a shower with a bad leak.. The woman at the front desk said that all the rooms had a problem with leaks and wouldn't do anything to help. On the second day of our stay we received a text asking how our stay was. They sent someone to fix the leak after we complained again. He put some sort of glue on the shower door which didn't work. Other issues with the room included a loud wall air conditioning and a fridge that was completely frosted over and cycled on every 10 minutes. Aside from the great location, this hotel has a lot of structural issues and we wouldn't stay there again. read more

We had a great stay at the Dunes. I especially loved the hangout spaces both indoors and outdoors. The decor was fun and the seating comfortable for hanging with our friends or sitting with a cup of coffee and taking care of work. The pool looked fun with big floats to hang out on. 4 stars overall. Here's the deal. Arrived at hotel for check in- there was no front desk attendant. Waited a bit, poked around, called front desk, nothing. Texted and got a response that someone would be down shortly. Check in was smooth once someone arrived. Room is small and somewhat dark, only 2 lamps and bathroom lights. Fixtures in bathroom are new but lower quality. Very little countertop space. Walls are thin. A few hairs found in bathroom. Provided soap smelled hella good. Pool area pretty cool. Free cabanas which is nice first become first serve. Speakers with well rounded music. Pool blow up loungers. You need to bring towels from your room, none available at pool. You can bring your own food n drinks. 8am next morning housecleaning is banging on door. Way too early! Asked them to come back. Ended up leaving and putting up Do Not Disturb sign. Got back to room and it was halfway cleaned? One bed was made, the other wasn't. Weird. The best perk about this hotel is its location to DTPS, just 1 1/2 blocks. The hotel itself has basic bones but you have excellent proximity to everything. We also ran into an employee named Anthony who was super helpful and sooo nice. Overall we'd staybl again. read more

Loved our stay at the Dunes this past weekend. Couldn't ask for a better experience, dog friendly, close to everything you'd want to do in downtown PS, and great rooms. The check-in process was super convenient since we were able to do it remote and didn't need a key card to access the room. The hotel was recently remodeled, and the rooms were comfy and well outfitted. Even included a mini fridge for our own drinks and snacks. This feels like the perfect hotel for families and people visiting for sports or conventions. Everything you need, close to tons of things to do and a massive pool with lot of cabanas and covered seating to relax at when you're done with your day. Staff was friendly and quick to help with any of our needs, and the new grass area they installed is perfect for travelers with pets.
