We saw a few people who just got the day spa passes asking about the rooms and expressing regret that they hadn't just booked rooms here. Everything was really nice including the staff and service when we ordered food and drinks near the poolside. The skyline is beautiful and to be there on July 4th, we could see the fireworks in various parts of the sky. There is plenty of parking but it is a little odd of a location as it is mainly in a residential neighborhood with a few options for food. But they maintain the property well and it was a beautiful stay at a reasonable rate. We would recommend staying here!

We did not receive a dog toy that we could take home, as stated. We were given a few dog treats that they just gave to me in my hand, not wrapped or in a cute bag. After I mentioned that I'm allergic to alcohol, the staff instantly offered me a lavender lemonade instead without missing a beat. I'm usually not a fan of lavender-flavored drinks at all, but this one was so surprisingly delicious that when I checked out, I actually asked if they sold it. They don't, unfortunately, but they were kind enough to offer me another glass as a parting gift, which was such a thoughtful touch and perfectly captured the level of care and hospitality throughout our stay. The villas themselves were amazing. Everything was pristine, beautifully maintained, and spotless. The overall vibe of the property was quiet, peaceful, and deeply relaxing, which made it feel like a true escape. But there is a spa past the "guests only" sign, away from the pool, so that's at least an option. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Reminded me of a casita. Shower is huge and has great pressure. Pocket doors all around, nice. Hot tub in back is killer and having a fire pit next to it makes the backyard lounging even more inviting on a crisp night. Free breakfast is full of solid choices. Not-free food and drinks are good but, holy hell, is it overpriced. I hate that we're at a place where drinks are $20 on average for alcohol that hasn't been getting more expensive. I just drink less so good for me, I suppose? I got a surf & turf for $55 and it was flank steak and about 15% of it was fat. It came with three shrimp. Sad. Excellent service. Everyone was polite, accommodating, pleasant. No complaints there at all.

The rate includes a buffet breakfast and lunch that's ordered from a local place. The canteen has beverages available 24/7. Other guests were friendly and personable as well. It is clothing optional but we wore suits most of the time with no issues. Seemed like mostly couples with a few singles sprinkled in. Really I can't say enough nice things about our stay, the property and the staff.

We had called in advance and requested our rooms be ready early, and that our rooms be near my parents room since they were traveling with us. I have made similar requests at other Bonvoy properties before and have almost always been severely disappointed. That was not the case here. Our rooms were ready when we arrived at noon, and we even received an upgrade due to our Bonvoy status. The front desk manager was so professional and kind! I was blown away when we arrived in our room and they had left the sweetest gifts for our son since it was his first trip. Touches like this are what make the Ritz Carlton brand legendary. Our entire stay was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and had the best service for drinks and lunch. We celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Edge. As always, the service was wonderful and the food was delicious. We only visited for one night, but everyone had the best time and felt relaxed heading back to reality.

I grew up in San Diego and we had a second house in Indian Wells so I used to come out to this area often growing up and it's good to be back in a comfortable setting. I would say that the Ritz Carlton is probably the best hotel in the Coachella Valley given that there are very few other five star options. It's located in Rancho Mirage pretty much right in between Palm Springs and Palm Desert. It's located on the top of a large hill so it has great views of the valley. They have a steakhouse on site called The Edge, which has it selling feature being these views and the great steak. The hotel is not extremely large. It only is three floors, but it's a perfect size in that it doesn't seem too large or too busy ever. We chose the club lounge which allowed us to have free food and drink pretty much all day and they did a great job with adding new options to the menu. There is not an on-site parking lot so it will be valet parking only. Originally opened in 1988 and then reopened again in 2014 after a major renovation this place has been a staple of the desert for decades. The one strange issue we had is that we when we checked in we found adult sex toys in our bedside cabinet drawer, which was extremely odd for a Ritz Carlton so I would suggest that the cleaning crew check for these things but luckily we were a couple of adults without kids so it wasn't an issue just odd. The rooms themselves are well done and large with a full tub and shower and comfortable beds. Room service is also really good and the whole resort really lives up to the Ritz Carlton standard. I would definitely recommend if you are visiting the desert and I will be back again in the future.

These are just some of the things we loved: -calm atmosphere without being stuffy -bikes to use while you are there -bungalows with all the cooking facilities to make you feel at home -postcards pre-stamped in the room so we could write our friends -super stylish digs -nicely maintained pool area with fire pit -our own private patio with fire pit and BBQ -really, really sweet hosts who made us feel totally at home I just can't say enough good things about out experience. I have stayed at some super expensive 5 star hotels all over the world and nothing compared to this. This is hands down my favorite place I have ever stayed. General hotel layout was nice, felt vintage and was a refreshing twist. Room layout was interesting, tv was placed in front of the couch so you can't watch tv in bed. When first entering our room: 1. The two ceilings lights either flickered or did not turn on at all. The room was pitch black until we PLUGGED IN the closet lamp. 2. The bathtub was not clean, there were hairs. Bathtub was paint was chipped and the faucet was leaking as well. 3. The kitchen utensils were not clean. Forks, glasses and even the roll of paper towels were found dirty or used. The extra rolls under the sink were unwrapped. When coming to our room a few hours after check in, calling customer service (calling three times) took more than an hour, just for us to be told that the lighting and cleanliness issues will be solved in the morning. Was really looking forward to the experience but upon our first few hours, we felt unwelcome, uncomfortable and turned off of our whole stay. Especially when faced with the lack of cleanliness in the restroom, if our bathtub could be so apparently dirty, what else could they have missed? We were forced to spend the first few hours fixing up our room before starting to feel comfortable. This meant scrubbing the bathtub, washing every dish and checking every surface. With the lengthy and detailed check in process, we were really expecting a quality, travel worthy experience. Instead, it felt we were greeted with an unclean, uncomfortable welcome. As guests, it was made obvious to us that customer service was not at the forefront of our experience. Having decentralized customer service (through phone numbers and apps) made us feel so unattached from the actual experience.

I intend to use all the amenities, including the pool and interact just like any other guest if you're staying there the eighth through the 11th come say hi or contact the hotel and let them know how you feel about being in such close quarters with somebody with monkeypox.

We are a good-sized group, usually around 30 rooms, and we have some very specific and occasionally weird needs. I also travel constantly and have been lucky to stay in some incredible hotels around the world. So when I say the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs gave us one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had, and hands down the best I have ever had as the person responsible for making one of these weekends actually work, I mean it. First of all, the hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are modern, beautiful and spotless, the views are ridiculous and the rooftop feels like you have somehow floated above Palm Springs. You can walk out the front door and basically the entire downtown is at your feet. And then there are those mountains, changing colors throughout the day and turning pink and gold in the evening, reminding you that Palm Springs really has no business being this beautiful. But as much as I loved the hotel, the thing I cannot stop talking about is the staff. Every single person we encountered was warm, kind, helpful, funny and gracious. It never felt scripted or transactional. People genuinely seemed happy we were there and wanted us to have a wonderful time. Our board noticed it too. All weekend I heard stories about staff members who had helped someone or gone out of their way to be kind. By the end, everyone was raving about the hotel and essentially informing me that we would be returning next year (which is great, because I want that, too!). Apparently the committee has spoken. And then there is Megan, who worked with me on our group from the beginning. If you have ever planned a hotel event, you know the person on the other end of those emails can either make you feel like everything is going to be fine or slowly remove years from your life. Megan gave me years BACK. She was thoughtful, responsive, flexible and incredibly easy to work with. She understood our group and what I was trying to create, made things easy that are so often unnecessarily complicated and never made us feel like another block of rooms on a spreadsheet. We felt genuinely welcomed and cared for, and as the person ultimately responsible for everyone having a good experience, I cannot explain what a gift that was. Also super important: the food. Apparently the Rowan decided hotel banquet food did not actually have to taste like hotel banquet food. We had lunch on Sunday and I have eaten enough conference meals to know the drill and adjust my expectations accordingly. This was legitimately delicious. People went back for more. Multiple people asked if they could get the recipe for the white bean soup. THE WHITE BEAN SOUP. At a hotel banquet. If you have attended enough conferences, you understand how extraordinary this sentence is. Our executive team also had dinner Friday night at 4 Saints and it was wonderful from beginning to end. The food was beautiful, the staff was attentive and lovely and during dinner the sun began disappearing behind the mountains while we sat high above Palm Springs. Everything turned pink and gold for a few minutes and it felt almost otherworldly. It was one of those moments where the setting, food and people you are with all come together and you realize you are going to remember this particular dinner for a very long time. And I think that is what I loved most about our weekend. Beautiful hotels exist all over the world, but ultimately what stays with you is how a place made you feel. Somehow this team made 30 rooms full of people feel like they were genuinely happy we were there. They made my job easier. They gave our board a beautiful place to work and laugh and reconnect and sit under the desert sky together. When it was time to leave, nobody really wanted to. I travel a lot and plan enough of these events to know how many moving pieces have to come together behind the scenes for an experience to feel effortless. This one did. The Rowan is special, but the people who work there are what make it extraordinary. We came for a board meeting and left already talking about when we could come back. Five stars, obviously. And if someone will please send me that white bean soup recipe, maybe six.

The room is very spacious and minimalist but lack of comfort and luxury. There is not enough storage space (I'm not into exposed shells and storage. Cloths and stuff should be tucked away in my opinion). Sofa and patio chairs are so uncomfortable to sit on. The roof top area is quite nice and modern. The view of the mountain and PS is quite nice. We stayed at different rooms here. City view, balcony, and spa room. Not every room has views. Some room is looking down parking lot or shops. They have 2 restaurants in site, 4 Saints and Juniper Table. We had breakfast and brunch at Juniper Table and really enjoyed it. 4 Saints is on the Micheline guide. We have not eaten here yet. - the goods: Convenient location. Close to everything. Nice roof top view. Pet friendly Clean and spacious room with minimalist decor, hypoallergenic. Free wifi Free self park available. There is a vending machine in lobby for wine! The bads: Lower floor rooms are very loud (since it is closed to the street), either look at garage or stores. No fridge. Lack storage Spacious room but not well function. Service is so so (minimalist and sterile like the decor of the hotel... you get the idea!) Final verdict: The location is excellent. I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.

I knew my gate code and room number prior to arrival. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very professional, enthusiastic and personable receptionist Linda. We were walked through the resort with amenities pointed out. Pool, Hot Tub, shared kitchen and made aware of continental breakfast. Then walked to our room as well as entering together, service above and beyond. Being adults only allows pool and hot tub to be enjoyed 24/7. The room was spotless and we even had complementary beverages and snacks. The grounds were well maintained with plenty of seating as well as Giant Umbrellas able to provide shade over the pool and hot tub if desired. Hotel California is a hidden gem. We loved our experience and I'm sure we will return.
