Really charming adult only hotel. Loved the calmness of the property and the rooms. My recommendation is at a minimum stay in the luxe room if you can swing it. Bar and pool are quiet and comfortable Room patio is nice enough to sit with a gas fire pit on a chilly night. Bar and rooftop bar are actually really great and fun. Drinks and food were very good Only downside if any is there is no gym. Staff is amazing and very helpful. I would highly recommend this property

Loved our stay here at La Serena Villas. We were visiting Palm Springs to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary which just happened to be over the Valentines/Presidents Day weekend. We stayed in the spa suite 14 and on arrival we were told it was the best on the property. So spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchen and living area were wonderful to have in addition to the large bedroom with king bed. The private patio with in ground hot tub and fire pit were so enjoyed. Suite 14 is tucked at the back of the property behind the spa and it was quiet and lovely. Upon arrival we were greeted in such a friendly and informative way and were given a glass of complimentary champagne. It immediately made us feel welcome and in good hands. We enjoyed the grab and go bikes to explore town and get breakfast with a little exercise. Each morning breakfast basket was dropped at our door with yogurt, granola, muffins, orange juice and Vietnamese coffee which was delicious. How lovely it was that they did this for us. The main pool area was quiet and we enjoyed the day beds both days. It's such a quaint hotel there was no need to worry about finding a space to sit by the pool. The restaurant also provides poolside service so we could order a drink or food while enjoying the pool. The location was excellent and close to the Main Street in downtown. Loved it and I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and romantic getaway in a boutique hotel close to downtown. Plenty of parking out front!

I recently stayed at La Serena Villas for 4 days with my boyfriend. We were celebrating our birthdays and did extensive research on where to stay. Ultimately, we landed here. I think a more realistic rating is a 3.75 but I rounded up as it is in between. Upon arriving the front desk was welcoming and quickly got us checked in but I was still waiting to hear back from a manager on the discrepancy on our bill. We paid in full prior to arriving and the resort fee was included in the total price. I called a day prior to our arrival and nobody could confirm so they asked me to send pictures of the confirmation and where it said it was included. I sent it over and promptly received an email that someone would get back to me. That the manager had to look it over. Nobody ever reached back out and when we arrived and I asked, still nobody could give me an answer. Ultimately, we never heard from anyone until we checked out which wasn't really acceptable but they did end up honoring it at checkout. The room was very nice, however I will say the backyard was super crammed, the backyard tub wasn't clean as there were leaves and debris in it and I felt the towels could've been fresher. They were quite worn and I expected better for the level of luxury La Serena has. The pool was epic and the free day beds were an awesome touch. We also ate at the restaurant, Azucar and have to say the food was quite tasty. Jose, the manager, was absolutely phenomenal. The other employees that worked there weren't "bad" by any means- you could just kind of tell they were a lot less enthusiastic the Jose. I get it- it's the off season and I'm sure the money isn't as good as peak season but we're great tippers and felt we could've received better overall service poolside and inside the restaurant. To reiterate though- Jose was absolutely phenomenal and I would totally want him to run any business I owned. Very personable and professional. He knocked it out of the park for us. A few final notes- they did keep the pool open all night and we were allowed to swim late into the evening as we were mindful not to be disruptive. That was so relaxing and the weather was perfect. The only other main complaint was that the AC didn't really work in the villa. It wasn't too bad but there were a few times where my boyfriend was sweating a lot and mentioned how uncomfortable he was. I know that desert heat is no joke but once again, this is a luxury establishment. The guests need AC in their rooms that was working. Overall, I do recommend La Serena Villas. We had a wonderful time and would come back! Just a few things need to be addressed. That by no means led us to have a less than enjoyable stay.

La serena is a relaxing and comfortable place to land in Palm Springs. Great location and insight dining that is very good. They include a modest continental breakfast. Delivered to your door. We had a very nice stay in a villa.i would suggest for a special occasion. It is pricey. The only disappointment was that nothing special was in our room for my husbands birthday. Flowers or a special treat would have been a nice touch. I'm always impressed when hotel does something beyond. Otherwise the staff and villa s are excellent. Azucar restaurant was very good!

Fun spot in Palm Springs. Well located just off the main drag. Staff is friendly and keep the areas ship-shape. Nice little pool just in front of the quietly, busy Azucar restaurant. They deliver a breakfast basket in the morning. Rooms are spacious. Great spot to spend a few days.

We came for a couples massage and hung out just for the day on the properly. Eva, our massage therapist, was EXCEPTIONALLY great! She has the most kindest and gentle spirit yet so talented with her skills and technique. I was super impressed with the quality of services the hotel provided for just a day pass. We were also greeted with champagne when checking in. The grounds are so beautiful and serene. We are coming back again! Repeat indeed.

RODNEY!!! Came through with spectacular service made me love dinning out again after trying a couple over rated spots I found my go to in Palm springs definitely will be back no doubt! On top of the service the food was flavorful and every bite made my feet tingle 10/10!!!

Wow, we had such a great experience at La Serena Villas. From the moment we walked through the entryway we were treated so well by everyone working there. The front desk, the bartender, the people who worked at the pool and housekeeping. This place is desert luxury accommodations. Very clean, not overcrowded, quiet and beautifully decorated. Included is a trendy restaurant with a rooftop bar. Pool cabanas with refreshment stations throughout the property. Every room includes a PRIVATE patio with fire pit and outdoor tub. Complimentary breakfast baskets delivered to our room. My boyfriend and I kept commenting on how happy we were to have found this place after our first reservation didn't work out. I think we lucked out since it was the middle of the week. We were celebrating both of our birthdays and anniversary and La Serene Villas was the perfect way to celebrate. 10/10, we will be back, already planning our next visit.

This was our second time staying at the villas and the first time we stayed was April 2022 and it could not have been a more wonderful experience. But this time we came, a little over a year later in August 2023, and some changes were noted... We actually decided to stay in larger Villa 19 this time, which is one of the more expensive villas, and we're not sure why the hotel skimped on details that we got in the smaller villa 16 when, we stayed a year earlier... for example, there was no welcoming little tequila bottle with shots waiting for us in our room, like we got when we stayed in Villa 16. And then later we noticed housekeeping taking that detail to other rooms. So why didn't we get the welcome tequila shots? We checked in early so the front desk offered to store our luggage until our room was ready. And once our room was ready, my husband went to check it out and it was a good thing he looked because he noticed that the front desk brought somebody else's luggage into our room! Obviously, it's a mistake, but it's kind of a serious mistake when you think about people traveling with travelers checks, jewelry, electronics and such. Those people never knew that their luggage was mistakenly put in our room because my husband quickly brought their luggage back to the lobby and told Ivan of the mistake. My husband took our luggage back to our room. Another detail that annoyed me was the first time we stayed there we were offered Lollia brand bubble bath upon check-in. This time we weren't given any and so my husband went to the front desk to ask if we could have bubble bath brought to our room. I mean there are two bathtubs in these villas so bubble bath should be a no-brainer. However, when housekeeping brought a little bottle of "bubble bath", it was not Lollia brand anymore. Which is NOT a big deal. If the hotel wants to use their own brand of bubble bath, that's completely fine. The problem was it was shampoo in a bottle! it did not get bubbly and there were thick particles floating, which is what happens when you dump regular shampoo into your bath. My husband took the bottle to the front and told Ivan at the front desk that this was not bubble bath and he looked at us and said "well that's what we always give people"....that's unfortunate. Ivan, of course, then referred to the little boutique shop in the lobby and told us we could purchase Lollia bubble bath if we wanted to. Thanks but no thanks. I actually have Lollia bubble bath at home and didn't need to buy any for our three night stay. Especially considering this was a small detail they used to offer complementary. One would think after they mixed up our luggage with someone else's that this was a small concession they could have given us, but I guess it was asking too much. To surprise me for my birthday, which was why we were staying here, my husband booked what he thought was going to be a surprise massage at the spa. Now while I understand that they need an email to send confirmations to, my husband did ask that it be a SURPRISE. That would've been the moment where the front desk should have asked my husband for his email address so that they didn't accidentally send the massage confirmation to me. Obviously I ended up knowing about the surprise when I got the email, but strangely the email was not even addressed to the right name. I was confused because they sent it to someone else. But with MY email address. Good grief... Small details, but just stuff that really sticks out. And speaking of small details, they no longer offer slippers in the rooms. Or maybe it was just our room. It just kind of feels like we got the short end of the stick when we saw other rooms getting their welcoming tequila shots and ladies coming to the pool with their hotel branded canvas bags, that they usually leave in your room, but obviously just another detail that was left out of our room. But you can't go wrong with the on-site restaurant! Azucar and their staff are top-notch. I was offered a Gift Card by the GM after she heard of our less than ideal stay. Appreciate that!

    Spa Area

La Serena Villas is a great place to visit whether you are an overnight guest or just visiting. They have a great restaurant placed at the back end of the pool surrounded by Spanish style architecture and luscious tropical plants. This property is absolutely gorgeous and I would come here for the ambiance alone. My review is based on my experience with the Spa as I was not an overnight guest. My fiancé had scheduled us a couples massage for the afternoon. After checking in at the front desk we were escorted to the Spa area by our massage therapist. Unfortunately, only one therapist was available for the message as all of the therapist are independent contractors and not employees. Although to no fault of there own as we had booked the appointment that morning. This wasn't a problem as this allowed us to each enjoy the cabanas and hot tub while the other received a massage. The massage room itself smelt really good and the massage tables had a heating pad so it was extremely comfortable. Very easy to feel relaxed and listen to the light meditation music in the background. The massage itself was very good. My fiancé enjoyed it a lot as it focused on a lot of pressure points and every muscle received some attention. I personally enjoy more of a deep tissue massage but I did enjoy it overall. All in all, at that price point, I think I had a good experience and would do it again. After touring the property I would absolutely try staying here at some point.

There is complimentary on site parking and the front desk has cameras to monitor the area. They provide an opt-in complimentary breakfast fruit basket with fruit, dates, muffins, and yogurt, and granola. We booked the Happy Couple massage package. One thing to make note, if you want to book spa services, do it days in advance because they hire 3rd party masseuse to come so it's subject to their availability. We booked the night before and only one masseuse was able to come so we had separate massages which was fine but given the short amount of time we had there, it took double the time out of the day so just something to be aware of. They were very accommodating to various requests including switching out the bedding prior to arrival because I'm allergic to feathers and they had gluten free items on the menu as well. This was the luxury desert experience we've been looking for. It's the privacy and space of an Airbnb with the service and accommodation of a luxury hotel. Can't wait to go back!

I grew up in San Diego and we had a second house in Indian Wells so I used to come out to this area often growing up and it's good to be back in a comfortable setting. I would say that the Ritz Carlton is probably the best hotel in the Coachella Valley given that there are very few other five star options. It's located in Rancho Mirage pretty much right in between Palm Springs and Palm Desert. It's located on the top of a large hill so it has great views of the valley. They have a steakhouse on site called The Edge, which has it selling feature being these views and the great steak. The hotel is not extremely large. It only is three floors, but it's a perfect size in that it doesn't seem too large or too busy ever. We chose the club lounge which allowed us to have free food and drink pretty much all day and they did a great job with adding new options to the menu. There is not an on-site parking lot so it will be valet parking only. Originally opened in 1988 and then reopened again in 2014 after a major renovation this place has been a staple of the desert for decades. The one strange issue we had is that we when we checked in we found adult sex toys in our bedside cabinet drawer, which was extremely odd for a Ritz Carlton so I would suggest that the cleaning crew check for these things but luckily we were a couple of adults without kids so it wasn't an issue just odd. The rooms themselves are well done and large with a full tub and shower and comfortable beds. Room service is also really good and the whole resort really lives up to the Ritz Carlton standard. I would definitely recommend if you are visiting the desert and I will be back again in the future.

I know because this family's-third stay at a Ritz Carlton for the month of July-- Ritz Rancho Mirage is truly the best one we've ever stayed in California! Ritz Rancho Mirage property really needs to share its expertise and guidance with the less impressive, failing Ritz Half Moon Bay. That property is just Awful. SERIOUSLY help that horrid property out. Here at Ritz Rancho Mirage from the moment we arrived, we were greeted by all the wonderful valet men at the driveway. Bright happy smiles. Checking in was a breeze, with smiles, excellent customer service, and a super quick process. As we walked through the hallway towards the elevators, we were greeted by several staff members who said hello to us. Every employee we encountered at the property seemed to enjoy their job. It was such a wonderful day to see the Ritz Carlton stuffies for kids, three different options. Our kids chose the ram. Our family is known for collecting all the Ritz Carlton memorabilia and visiting all the properties around the world. So for this property to have three stuffies was a surprise The sweet, friendly young woman at the front desk showed them all the options, they could choose from. Our Family really loved our room. We again booked two connecting rooms. A double bedroom comes with a couch and is very spacious. The king bed also came with a little couch. The first floor had a very unique vibe that we all liked. The decoration of the Crystal lights was very cool. The bathrooms were all looking like they had a complete renovation. Big huge bathtubs for our little toddler to swim in his bubble bath in. Housekeeping staff I give them a 10! Phenomenal job all you amazing ladies and gents working in housekeeping. All of them were friendly, checked on us, offered more towels. Our room was serviced EVERY time we came back to the room, clean, spotless. Not like the disgusting Ritz Half Moon bay. The housekeeping crew here all were on top of their duties with great smiles and attitudes. We happily will be bringing more cash for them next time. Very hard workers. I appreciated all of you guys in housekeeping. The family pool was amazing! It was not overcrowded and it was clean, all the music playing was completely perfect for families. They keep the area very clean and the staff was always checking in on us to see like to order anything else or needed anything. The service at the Pool side is five star! The view from the property is spectacular! My family really was surprised at night that there was a star watch around the pool. We were able to see through the huge telescopes two distant stars. What a great treat. We all did enjoy the shops there at the resort. They had a great attire for the entire family. Dad found a wonderful shirt and our toddler found the cutest swim shorts. We don't like to do so far. This one is the best Ritz in terms of on site shopping. Overall, our family had a five star one experience at this property. So wonderful that I am very sure we will be booking more visits through the year.I cannot tell you enough how nice, accommodating and friendly staff is here at the property. If you have fur babies go ahead and bring them along ..this property is dog friendly! Our two Frenchies really enjoyed their time here.. being spoiled by the staff. They give water bowls and dog treats. There are many dogs in the property during our visit. Each of them were also happy to be able to socialize with their families as we could tell. If you can't tell...I Love the Ritz Rancho Mirage.

Bathtub was paint was chipped and the faucet was leaking as well. 3. The kitchen utensils were not clean. Forks, glasses and even the roll of paper towels were found dirty or used. The extra rolls under the sink were unwrapped. When coming to our room a few hours after check in, calling customer service (calling three times) took more than an hour, just for us to be told that the lighting and cleanliness issues will be solved in the morning. Was really looking forward to the experience but upon our first few hours, we felt unwelcome, uncomfortable and turned off of our whole stay. Especially when faced with the lack of cleanliness in the restroom, if our bathtub could be so apparently dirty, what else could they have missed? We were forced to spend the first few hours fixing up our room before starting to feel comfortable. This meant scrubbing the bathtub, washing every dish and checking every surface. With the lengthy and detailed check in process, we were really expecting a quality, travel worthy experience. Instead, it felt we were greeted with an unclean, uncomfortable welcome. As guests, it was made obvious to us that customer service was not at the forefront of our experience. Having decentralized customer service (through phone numbers and apps) made us feel so unattached from the actual experience.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

There are 10 rooms available and each one is a different theme in the 1950s. I stayed for two nights in the Crooners room and I enjoyed my stay a lot. When I arrived, Tim, the inn keeper assisted me with my room keys and showing me around the property. My room was decorated with the Rat Pack and I loved it. All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.

I knew my gate code and room number prior to arrival. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very professional, enthusiastic and personable receptionist Linda. We were walked through the resort with amenities pointed out. Pool, Hot Tub, shared kitchen and made aware of continental breakfast. Then walked to our room as well as entering together, service above and beyond. Being adults only allows pool and hot tub to be enjoyed 24/7. The room was spotless and we even had complementary beverages and snacks. The grounds were well maintained with plenty of seating as well as Giant Umbrellas able to provide shade over the pool and hot tub if desired. Hotel California is a hidden gem. We loved our experience and I'm sure we will return.

Beautiful landscaping and so many hummingbirds flying around! The staff was very friendly and attentive... :) Spent a lot of time in the pool, which is a little small. I do think that it would be great if they could provide water in the kitchen or by the pool like some other hotels do instead of having to go to your room to get water especially since it is so hot outside! The room, however, is somewhat subpar, i've definitely stayed in nicer rooms! The bathroom is small.. i would equate it to a motel. AC worked which was great. The room also had a fridge and a microwave, which was also handy.. The "breakfast " was ok as well. The hard boiled eggs we got were not good. It's basic so do not expect anything fancy. Cereal, bagels, yogurt. I did love that there was a coffee maker in the room! Would probably stay here again if the price was right...
