Love this place!!!! Everything you order is delicious even the drinks. I found this place Doordashing in the Troy area!! Had to get an iced tea when I seen it was ORANGE, plus I'm going thru a chai tea phase right now and I wish I could make this!!!

Dine-in is closed still. Guess I should have asked when I called about their hours. I had assumed the dine-in would be open by now:( Ordered a curry (C9) with chicken and steamed tofu, medium spicy and a curry noodle with chicken and steamed tofu and veggies too, sides only, not full portions off the adds and a bag of shrimp cracker. Free sanitizer for guests. $33.39. The bag of shrimp crackers are big. I don't know how much it costs since I never received an itemized bill at all for any part of my meal. The shrimp crackers are yummy, crunchy and addicting too. The curry noodles spilled out of the styrofoam container into the bag and it was placed between my feet on the floor to keep to from moving during the drive. The curry noodles are hot plus and decent, the noodles are thicker than we are used to. The add-on portions aren't bad. The curry C9 is okay. Curry sauce was okay. Meat is a bit fatty on a few pieces.

This family is crushing it here. My friend told me the story behind the restaurant/ new owners and I'm impressed. So friendly here. This place was busy for lunch. They give you complimentary shrimp chips and Thai hot & sour soup. Delicious. The chicken in both plates....so tender. Next time I would get mild+, no spice but sooo good. I will be back to check out the Pad Thai & shrimp dishes.

Very authentic and the most delicious Thai food in Troy. The family that owns this business is so nice and friendly! The restaurant is always clean too. I love to support their business especially during Covid times. They have the absolute best pad Thai!! I've tried pad Thai at many other restaurants in the metro Detroit and have found nothing that compares to this! I highly recommend trying it if you haven't. I always get "no spice" when they ask for the level of spice when ordering but ask to have the spice on the side so I can control the spiciness of the dish. The vegetables are always fresh and the noodles are never over cooked or undercooked...always perfect. Their TomYum soup, spring rolls and shrimp chips are delicious as well for appetizers. I can't wait till this place opens again for in dining. Before Covid it was always busy during lunchtime but you're in an out within an hour. They currently are closed for lunch hours and are only open for carry out. 3 PM to 8 PM Monday through Thursday 3 PM to 9 PM Friday 5 PM to 9 PM Saturday closed on Sundays. I highly recommend this place for your next Thai craving. You will never want to go to another Thai place again after eating here!

N4 Thai Curry Noodles (Dairy-free)

Gluten & Dairy Sensitive Foodies - Yes you can eat Thai!! This place has always been my favorite Thai place for years because they never skimped on portion and they would make dairy-free curry sauce for me. Now, the new owners have made it even better by using gluten-free soy sauce so I can eat the brown sauce entrees too. Did I mention the delicious homemade coconut ice cream?

My boyfriend and I got takeout from here today, because there is a BOGO lunch/dinner coupon in the Entertainment book app. I have been to Orchid Cafe before in Troy, but the Rochester Rd. location, which apparently no longer has any affiliation with this location. This one is located at the corner of Square Lake Rd and Livernois. Starting with the bad and moving on to the good ... the Thai iced tea was inedible. My boyfriend and I usually get that from Sy Thai, and I've also had it from Bangkok Cuisine (Royal Oak) and other places. This tasted very different. When we got back to my house, we opened up the lids and there was something floating around in it ... I'm guessing they use a mix. The fact that my (non-picky) boyfriend and I BOTH disliked it was pretty bad ... $6 literally down the drain. For the entrees: I got the cashew beef and he got the Siam Duck. Both were decent, although I like Sy Thai's better. The best part of the meal was actually the "Summer Rolls" (appetizer A9). I've had these before although they've been called something else, and usually it comes with either a thin peanut sauce or a sweet chili sauce; Orchid Thai's comes with a THICK peanut sauce, and it was delicious. Overall I'd give this place 3/5 stars, but wouldn't rush to return, based on this experience. If you live in the area, it's worth trying out, I just would definitely skip the Thai iced tea.

Param rongsong. Vegetarian dish of baby corn, Carrots, and broccoli
Saphace A.

My sisters and I had to come back here. It's been so many years. We came regularly with our parents when we were kids. Same space, same family who runs it. It's always a good handful of people in here, never super busy. A lot of people like to get carry out here. We dined in a little close to 7:30 on a Friday evening. They immediately seated us and brought waters. They brought out the fried shrimp chips and the bamboo soup which I think helps to cleanse your system. I felt a bit full from the soup even though it was small. Perhaps it was just one huge ladle full. We ordered pad Thai, param rongsong (a mixture of broccoli, carrots, baby corn, and a nice peanut sauce), and the royal chicken (crispy chicken mixed with a sauce with carrots and peppers). Good as always! We shared our dishes but barely made a dent! Perhaps we should've ordered two dishes between all 3 of us. I love all the orchids they set around the room and all the Thai decorations. So pretty! They've got a nice chandelier in the middle of the space which is right above a small aquarium. It was cute! They placed some pretty calming music. Hillsong, Lauren Daigle, Aaron Shust. Yay! Service was good. Food came fast and they were attentive to when we finished dishes and when we needed more water, even though she set the pitcher on our table. She poured more for us anyway! They were very nice! Made good eye contact. Even bid us goodbye at the door! Can't wait to relive my childhood again next time!

Lard na (fresh wide rice noodles with broccoli, beef, and brown gravy). The best!

First time here, I chose 2 dishes to try - T5 Gra Pow Moo Krob (spicy crispy pork with basil) and SF8 Pad Prik Khing (chicken with green beans) - both absolutely delicious and so fresh! I also got spring rolls and hot and sour soup, both of which were pretty good. The chef Ta was so nice, she heard I never had Gra Pow Moo Krob and wanted to know what I thought of it. She explained that it's a popular street food in Thailand, people go up to the carts and eat this specific dish. I thought it was such a nice touch that she wanted to check in with me as it was my first time dining there. I told her the Pad Prik Khing she made was the best I'd ever had, while the Gra Pow Moo Krob was definitely going on my list of favorite dishes. Second time here, my fiancé and I got N1 Chicken Pad Thai and T4 Khana Moo Krob (crispy pork with broccoli and kale) - both dishes were refreshing, light, and cooked perfectly. Each came with soup again but we switched out Hot and Sour for the Chicken Tom Yum, which was very good! Honestly, this had to be the best Pad Thai we've had here in Michigan. We gave our compliments to the chef as we finished our meal. The decorations are minimalist and I think the tables come from a Joe's Crab Shack - it's fun to read the blurbs on each one. If you're thinking of stopping by, save me a seat because I hope this restaurant becomes busy but not packed as I need my weekly fix!

I was excited to try this place based on reviews and pictures. The restaurant atmosphere is very…read morenice with cultural decor and a spacious layout. To start, we got moo krob (deep fried pork belly) which is the Thai version of Chinese siu yook. I have to say, I like siu yook so much more - it's a lot more flavorful having been marinated with five spice and served with delicious sweet hoisin sauce for dipping. The pork here was bland and the sauce (fish sauce based) was pretty one note. For my entree, I got rad na (rice noodles with gravy, Chinese broccoli, carrots, and choice of meat - I got pork) which was one of the best I've ever had! They used fresh rice noodles and sautéed it properly to give it the "wok hei" (wok-seared flavor). The gravy was deep and flavorful and the portion size was very good. If everything else was as good as my entree, I'd give this restaurant 5 stars. Unfortunately, my mom's Kao mun gai (steamed chicken with rice and "special sauce") was awful. She asked if the dish had any spice because she can't do spicy, and the server said no, so she decided she'd try it. The chicken was way overcooked and dry, with no flavor at all. The sauce, the only thing providing flavor and moisture, was spicy so that she couldn't eat it. We asked if there was any sauce she could get instead that wasn't spicy, and they said no, but they can give us a bottle of soy sauce. So my mom used some of that, and also took some of my rad na gravy. But because the chicken was so dry and bland, it was beyond saving. My dad got the Thai basil fried rice, mild spice. It was definitely hotter than other Thai restaurants' mild, and my dad said the spice overwhelmed the other flavors. I tried some of it and it was not bad, but nothing remarkable. They told us that traditionally, it's served with the rice on the side, which was strange to me because then it's not fried rice - it's sautéed meat and veggies with rice on the side. I am curious about how some of the other dishes taste here, but it's a shame that 3/4 of the things we ordered were mediocre to downright bad. While I enjoyed my entree, I felt bad my parents didn't enjoy their food.
