One of my all time favorites. You really can't go wrong at Oregano's - I've never had a bad dish. Everything is huge, and can double as dinner and lunch the next day (or perfect for splitting!). OK, so I am still not a huge fan of the food, but I am going to give Oregano's some love on their customer service. After our last subpar visit, I was contacted by Kristen from Oregano's customer service. She was mortified that a customer would experience some of what she read in my last review. To try and rectify this, they sent me a gift card to re-visit the restaurant and give them another chance. And so we did... My wife and daughter accompanied me. This time, our server was right on with everything. She made drink recommendations, brought everything out on time, refilled drinks promptly, was quick with the check and, overall, just made sure we were taken care of. I imagined my picture on an "if you see this man" poster of return customers coming from Oregano's customer service. Our service was that good. I mentioned that I am not a huge fan of the food. I do like certain things on the menu, but overall, the menu just does not grab me and shake me. Their wings (which we had on this visit) are some of the best around. Their pizzookie (we also had for dessert) is the stuff of legend. These were sandwiched around the very heavy Zany Ziti, which the ladies split, and the Jr. Spicy Sausage sandwich I had. Geez... no wonder we did not feel well afterwards. Their menu is chock full of spicy, high-calorie, carb-heavy and cheese-laden pizzas, pastas and sandwiches, with a few salads on the menu. Ten years ago, this food would have been the stuff dreams are made of. These days, it's heartburn, sleeplessness and nightmares. Good customer service, however, always agrees with me. I think Oregano's is, like the three stars suggest, a-ok. Do I think it's worth waiting in the absurdly long lines it seems to have every night, even on weekdays, to eat here? Definitely not. Nothing I've had has been particularly memorable. I remember it all tasting good and being full after, so that's good, but there are at least two other local pizza places I'd frequent before waiting for an hour to eat here. read more

Oregano's was hyped up a lot by my girl before we went Friday night. I checked out the Yelp reviews ahead of time to know what to expect. We waited about 20 minutes for a table in the outdoor patio. We got seated by friendly staff and drinks were in our hands shortly. Originally I wanted the Chicago pan pizza, but the server told me it takes 45 minutes to an hour to prepare. After waiting 20 minutes for our table I didn't want to put us through another long wait just for my pizza, so I went with the thin crust margherita instead with an appetizer of shredded chicken breast. Surprisingly, the shredded seasoned chicken was the best part of the meal. The pizza itself was very bland, cracker-like. Honestly I've had better frozen pizza from DiGorno's or CPK. Man was I disappointed. It tasted like it had been cooked 30 minutes earlier and been kept under a heat lamp. My girl had a pasta dish of some kind. I was going to poach some of her garlic bread, but it was so soggy on one side while being, like the pizza, cracker-esque on the other that I forgo it entirely. We had dessert elsewhere otherwise I would have tried the cookie/ice cream dish. All things considered, I WOULD try Oregano's again and go for the pan pizza just to see what the big deal is. The server said in the future you can tell them you want the pan pizza while you wait for your table, so they can get it ready for you. read more

Huge...this word can not be overused when describing portion sizes at Oregano's. But it so good you will love having leftovers. I am pretty confident that the dinner salad is an entire head of lettuce. Two of us shared and still took home a good portion. The chipotle ranch dressing has a good little fiery kick. I like it with the sweet potato fries. The atmosphere, passion fruit tea, and friendly staff will always bring me back here time and time again. Just make sure you have plenty if time, it's never fast, but I'm sure it is because all true deliciousness takes time. read more

I find it astonishing that you can successfully accommodate an entire restaurant with a line out the door all with reasonable wait times. And not be able to accommodate a few dozen curbside orders. I was told it would be one hour for my order to be ready to pick up, seems reasonable, I arrived at exactly one hour later, however i waited an additional 40 minutes once I arrived. When i pleasantly inquired as to the status of my order I was promptly "yelled" at by the greeter, that's when i'm out. Best wishes as you move forward in these trying times and that you all remain safe. Everyone is sightly on edge however to be "yelled" at is not what one would expect when they leave the safety of their home to go out to patronize and support your restaurant. This is my favorite place to get pasta! The portions are huge, big enough for dinner the next day! Their garlic bread with cheese is so good and is quick to come out. Their sangria is one of the best I've had. Just go for the pitcher, you can thank me later. And lastly, the cookie for dessert! I'm "basic" so I prefer the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. Call ahead before you show up, as the wait can be a bit lengthy. It is worth the wait though. If they see the line is getting backed up, they will even bring out a pizza or some garlic bread. The food is really good and they give you plenty of it. I have gone there for my own dinners and began taking customers and employees there for lunches or dinners. The bowl of pasta is great. Angel hair pasta with whatever sauce you want. The staff are friendly and work hard to keep you happy. The food doesn't come fast, because your dish is made fresh and not warmed up like chain places do. read more

This not in my neck of the woods, but when I am meeting someone from the east side of town it seems to be my go to place. The service is always good and the staff is friendly. The patio can be so loud you cannot hear a thing, if are in the covered part, an inside booth or an a completely outside table is the best seating. I always get a dinner salad and an entree, I seem to lean toward the lasagna most of the time. The parking can be a bit of a bear, and if you go during any prime time the wait can be long. It is worth the wait because they give you good food and service at reasonable price. read more

I love Oreganos and make it a point to visit one anytime I'm in Arizona. The experience at this location was great. My boo and I split the regular size Italian salad which is more than enough for two people. I didn't want a full pizza so I ordered a slice which turned out to be the kids portion and it hit the spot! I've been a customer for years in Scottsdale and went for lunch in Tucson last week and service was good as usual. Food at our table was good overall too, but not consistent. I ordered the "Stuffed Riga Tony" which is supposedly rigatoni hand stuffed with riccotta. The pasta was way too thick and gummy and the filling was scant. This is the worst Italian dish I can recall ever being served. I normally get the pizza and have always liked it, but this pasta dish was dreadful and it's really hard to believe these are filled "by hand." The pasta was at least 1/8" thick and had the chew and texture of a soft Red Vine licorice. The ratio of pasta to filling was more than 2:1 so for that little strip of cheese in the middle, I had to chew through a 1/4" (now a bite sized ball) of pasta. My meatballs were delicious however, and my friends lasagna looked amazing. Salads were large and garlic bread was really good. I'll definitely be back, but tread carefully in the pasta section. read more

Just ate here again last night and still think the Lawrence is my favorite. So yummy! ALERT!!!!!! Get yourself a root beer float. It's a new drink--a twist on a classic, but for grown-ups. Instead of actually having ice cream in it, it has liquor. It was delicious! Think root beer float with about 20 of those root beer barrel candies dissolved into it. Liquid candy. I cannot recommend it enough! Still pricey, and still had to wait 20 minutes for a table, but whatever. The pizza is delicious. read more

I love Oreganos, but I hate the wait! Maybe now that a second location is opening, yes a second one, finally!!!!, we won't have to wait 30-45 minutes to stuff our faces with their amazing cheese bread or delicious pasta. The Alfredo the Dark is an old favorite, however, the sauce has been reformulated and it is lighter and it makes for a lighter dish, but definitely takes away from the flavor of the dish. The cheese bread is awesome on every level and huge, just like all of their portion sizes, so if you like to share, this is the place to do it! My husband is a fan of the baked ziti and the meatballs, he thinks it is seasoned perfectly, the bread bowl is delicious (but dry at times) and the meatballs taste like the have been cooked for days, in a good way. Their chicken (the side) is huge and awesome, the seasoning makes it the perfect addition to any salad, especially the off the menu, old school salad. Good evening Mark, SIZE DOES MATTER! I have been coming to oregano's since 1994. One of my favorite dishes was and is the Garlic Chicken Lasagna!!! My other favorite is the Pesto Chicken Thin Crust Pizza. I also have family members who love to order their own pizza when we visit Oreganos. Recently I visited an Oreganos in Tucson and in Chandler and both times I went somewhere else for dinner. The reason was because Oreganos no longer gives me the option to order a 12" pizza!!! To many people this may not be a big deal. However, many times I dine alone so I don't need a 14 inch pizza and other times I have individuals that want their own separate pizza. This is where the 12" size pizza he helps me to accommodate all my family members. Please reconsider introducing the 12 inch size pizza back onto your menu! I love Oreganos but won't go back very often because it does not accommodate me or my family. 90% of the pizza parlors in the valley serve 10, 12, 14 and 16 inch pizzas. read more

We went on a Friday night and there was a ling wait time, but it was Friday. While waiting outside there were sample pizzas available to nibble on and the patio was heated. We ordered brushetta (sp?), which was really good. Was fresh and even pretty to look at. I asked if one of the thin crust pizzas could be made into a deep dish and they made it with no questions asked. The smallest pizza is huge and I lived on it for a few days. Tasted just as good cold as it did hot. We will be visiting Oregano's again. read more

Have to say, this place for Tucson is pretty great. Pizza is good, pizzcookie is phenomenal. The place gets really packed, expect to wait 45 mins or more on a weekend night. Food has always been great, service is a hit or miss. They are either really attentive or just plain horrible. It seems like they also discriminate on who they hire as waiters and waitresses. Food is also really reasonably priced. If you are willing to put up with a long wait and sometimes horrible service, this place is overall great. I am not a big fan of thin crust pizza but this place is really good. You have to save room for dessert. read more

I've never had a bad meal at Oregano's. Pros: + Outstanding quality. Every meal I've had, pizza, pasta, salads or sandwiches, has been very flavorful, fresh, and delicious. I highly recommend the turkey stuffed sandwich or any of their pizzas. + Prices are reasonable for the quantity of food you get. You can easily eat half an entree here, take the rest home and have a full meal later as well. Cons: - I had to take a star away for their long wait times. They have a lot of real estate at this site, but the service is not always fast enough to keep up with demand. Perhaps they might consider moving to a bigger facility, or expanding the kitchen and service areas in their existing facility. In any case, be prepared to wait 2+ hours if you come at a busy time. The restaurant is very popular so you'll have to contend with a wait for your table and a staff that's trying to keep up on a regular basis. I realize the place bills itself as a "Pizza Bistro," but I've never gotten the pizza and I don't think it's why they are popular. Rather, I think it's the pasta dishes that really do it for this place. They tend to be very rich and many of them feature a tinge of Southwestern flavors and spiciness which livens up what at other similar places is pretty predictable fare. The portions are huge and the place seems to have a pleasant personality (these sorts of chain restaurant themes can get surreal and nauseating - think Applebee's - but Oregano's pulls theirs off pretty well). I've always enjoyed my meal and would easily choose this over an Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill. read more

For some reason the decorator missed the beat on this spot, because the atmosphere is beyooond cheesy. The logo/website, the black and white movies playing in the background and the music are all a little overboard as well, but they make up for it in the food department. Particularly notable is the Pizza Cookie Dessert, which is frankly AMAZING!!! You can choose from Macadamia Nut and White Chocolate, or if you are a cookie traditionalist, the chocolate chip is amazing as well. Or if you are a particular indecisive fat guy, like myself, you get both. On the hearty food side, splitting a large pizza is a good deal, but I always find myself gravitating to the Meatball Sub, which is enormous and delicious. Definitely check this spot out, but you may not even bother with their tiny parking lot... use the street right next door and park there. read more

Oregano's is simply awesome. I love everything about this place - the food, the service, the ambiance. The Chicago style deep dish pizzas are absolutely delicious - which is great because I end up eating it for a week or so after I visit because it's so much food. The appetizers are also pretty great (especially the spinach-artichoke dip), but I try and steer clear or I won't even have room for more than one giant slice of pizza. The only thing that stinks is that it takes almost an hour to get your pizza because it takes so long to cook. Not so bad if you want to sit down and have a few drinks, but by the time it comes, you will be hungry. Oh yeah, the pizza cookie dessert is also awesome, but if you plan to go that route, I suggest just an appetizer and dessert because of portion sizes. read more

I love Oregano's! The food is always great, and so is the service. There's usually a bit of a wait to get in, so be prepared to hang out for awhile. I think 20-45 minutes is pretty average, but it's worth it. This place has a fun and cozy atmosphere, and it's always an enjoyable time. My favorite is the Bowl O'Pasta, and the pizza is excellent too. You can't visit without getting dessert, and the pizza cookie and cheesecake are delicious.
