Had the worst experience today by this place. All we ordered is a pizza and a salad, and it took over 50 min to bring out the salad and I had to go ask for the pizza. When I complained to the manager he did react, but still took another 15 min to bring out the pizza. The waitress was overwhelmed and the other people at our party were waiting for their food too. What made it worse is the manager didn't even offer a discount, we had to pay Full price for a pizza that took over 1.25hrs to bring out!! Not good! read more

Oregano's makes the best of their almost overwhelming popularity. Even though a perpetual line snakes around the building most of the day, the service is patient and unruffled. I've been here many times and The Big Rig pasta with chipotle cream makes three meals, but I didn't expect my half Vino Bambino salad with corkscrew pasta and tender chicken chunks to make two meals. Pleasantly shocked, I confirmed with our waiter that I had only ordered half. The pizza here is paper thin and the crust is too doughy for me, but the lass I was with declaimed it marvelous if unwieldy. While the decor of vintage cans and 50s memorabilia makes me feel like I'm at Pinnacle Peak sometimes, Oregano's is the best show on this stretch of Speedway. read more

This place was GREAT! Estimated a 45 minute wait for 2 on Friday night. We found two seats at the bar immediately and just ate there. The bartenders were busy making drinks for the rest of the place but we're still attentive to our needs. We started with the Boom dip which was delicious. The bread they serve it with really made it for me. I had the "Alfredo the dark" it was a southwestern spin on chicken alfredo. Had a little bit of heat, but not too much. I loved it. It can be a little loud inside during their busy times but we didn't notice it too bad. I would highly recommend Oreganos! read more

Great Italian Food. I have always been a huge fan of Oregano's and it is a Wonderful Arizona local Italian restaurant. You honestly can't go wrong with anything you order; unique and delicious pizzas, great appetizers, huge and awesome salads and sandwiches, the best pasta dishes ever with the tastiest sauces, the pizza cookie is perfect and I've heard their wings are awesome. I recently had to go Gluten Free... and ever since I have been eating gluten free I have avoided Italian dining because I essentially can't eat anything on the menu. I recently had to go to Oregano's with visiting Family and I asked the server if they had gluten free pasta [because this is becoming very common in eateries and restaurants] and the server told me no. I have always loved Oreganos and would literally crave their pasta sauces sometimes so I was pretty devastated that they do not offer gluten free pasta. Hoping that one day they will! read more

Recently had an early weekday dinner and though the server was rough around the edges, and a little too hurried for the minimal early evening diners, we were very happy and impressed with Eric, the manager. After a salad dressing spilled on my very expensive and special dress, Eric was professional and detailed in his approach to mend an unfortunate situation with the careless server. He took time out of his busy evening managing, to personally care for our table of guests! He seemed to honestly care, and that made the lasagne, salad, bruschetta, already yummy, even better. We enjoyed a dessert, our first pizza cookie, on the house. Eric's good nature and professionalism are an asset to the sometimes hurried and apathetic, disingenuous say "hello and goodbye to the dinner guest" staff demeanor. Oregano's is one of the places that has opened in Tucson since I left town and have always wanted to try on one of my trips. Got the opportunity this time during weekday lunch time. Fairly crowded and we had to wait 20 minutes. Not outrageous but the hostess disappeared for long stretches and I kept seeing people just walk in. Finally got seated after 25 minutes. Ordered a thin crust pizza and told it would take 30 minutes. So, ordered bruschetta as an appetizer and was told that would take 15. Ok, let's go with that. Waiter disappeared for stretches and no food after almost 30 minutes. At this point, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands for lunch. The guy in front of me was in there for a while. By the time I was able to wash my hands and get back to the table, the pizza and bruschetta came out together. I started with the bruschetta and was not impressed. The tomatoes had little flavor and were overwhelmed by the oil. The pizza was much thinner than I expected. So thin that by the time I got done with some bruschetta, the pizza was already cold. If it had been warmer, I think I would have been more pleased as the flavor of the pizza was fine. Now that I know what to expect, I may try Oregano's again next time I am in town. I went there for dinner last evening without a huge appetite. Big mistake, I suppose. I opted for a side salad and an order of calamari for my meal. If they call calamari "rings of the sea," I have to say that there wasn't a single ring on the entire plate. They were greasy as heck and tasted like rubber. I love this restaurant and love the chain, but they really should stick to the pizza and salads! I am getting disappointed here, folks. read more

We called ahead an hour before we got there and still waited an hour to be sat. The service was terrible. The bartender/waitress not only didn't know how to explain the crusts for the pizza but also screwed up our entire order. We complained and they still charged us for it. The pizza tasted terrible! Oreganos is one of the best Italian restaurants in town! The atmosphere is fun and the staff is always friendly and courteous. The food is delicious from the pizza to the pasta, yummy sandwiches and salads and you can't forget the pizza cookie! Mmmm! Well they said 20 to 30 min. wait. Ended up over 40. Then the wait for the food was over an hour. They were out of bacon, how is that possible at a pizza place! They didn't have the mushroom pasta either. The pizza was over priced and dry. There was no explanation for the wait, no apology. The waitress brought water without ice. We sat at the bar facing the kitchen counter, and we saw that the bartender had to remind them twice to bake our pizza - they forgot about us twice. Spent my husband's birthday there and were soooo disappointed with the place. The two hosts were rude and kept us waiting, during a time when there were empty tables. Told us, with empty tables in plain sight that it would be 1 30 minute wait. Seated us 10 minutes into it, at a table in a room with a 20 top family, with multiple kids, doing multiple bad things. The noise level was atrocious and never let up until they left, 45 minutes later. Then it was if a vacuum had sucked all the sound out of the place. We ordered a pizza that took 45 minutes to cook, so we were wrong there, but when it came, it was the wrong pizza. After standing around, chatting about it, looking over at us and acting like there was a problem, they sent a guy over to look at it closely. It was similar enough to what we had ordered that we hadn't noticed, but it was wrong. They gave us a free pizza to cover it but the other party that waited 45 minutes for their pizza got messed up, too. Since it was my husbands birthday, they offered a cookie baked fresh with ice cream on top. They brought it, no plates to serve it on and the cookie was barely warm, not cooked through. All in all, it's the last time we go to this particular restaurant. Never had any problem with the one up north. read more

I've been eating here since it opened, and never wrote a review? What is wrong with me? I love the salads here, and the personal lunch pizzas are FANTASTIC! I have not ever gone here and not waited at least 10 minutes. Today, go in for lunch. I think 11:20 should be early enough! NO NO NO!!! ! ALMOST HAD TO PARK IN THE STREET AND TAKE THE BUS IN TO EAT! The lunch special is the best! Everything is delicious and doesn't have that fake taste u might get somewhere else. The service is also on point. The only beef I have is that it's not bigger and if u don't come during lunch, can be a little pricey. Less then olive garden but more then Ur typical burger from chili's. I came with a party of 4 during lunch on a Friday and they were busy, with about 5 minute wait for a table. We were seated at a bar table that was clearly too small for us, so we opted for a larger table after our waitress came. She was more than happy to accommodate. Service was good, and she made sure we had everything we wanted the whole time. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, and it tasted a lot like fried oregano. My meatball sandwich also tasted a lot like oregano. Now I know why this place is called oregano. Overall, good food, good service, and a good atmosphere (nobody likes an empty restaurant). I recently moved here from Chicago. I MISS so much from back home - especially the thin crust pizza served in squares. For a chain, oregano's does an AMAZING job at imitating it and bringing the greatness to the southwest. The sauce! The cheese! The crust! Mm. They also have huge delicious salads. I just had Oreganos catered for a work lunch and they were great! They helped lead me through a good menu and quantity amount for my group and nailed it on the head.
