Being from Texas originally, I love good bbq. I was in Albany for an event yesterday and wanted to stop for something to eat before heading home. I checked Yelp to see what was around, and Oregon Barbecue was the first thing to come up. I called my husband and asked if he wanted me to bring him something. I ordered a brisket meal with coleslaw and beans for myself, and I ordered him the Buckle Buster. They were out of two meats, but offered to double up on two others. I devoured my meal. I'm not ashamed. The brisket was so so delicious! It was juicy, fall aparty, and just a party of flavor in my mouth. The coleslaw was excellent and the beans with pulled pork were super yummy. I called my husband when I finished and told him to prepare. I will definitely stop here anytime I'm in Albany. read more

Came at dinner time and wasn't sure what items they would still have. Tried calling ahead, but only got a message. So they have a drive- thru and also a walk-up window. I waited in front of the walk-up window and wasn't sure at first if if was open, but there was a line of cars for the drive-thru. The nice gal working both windows let me know she would be with me soon. At that time, they only had brisket and a few links of sausage left, but all the sides. Customer service was friendly and the food didn't take long to be ready. They had some picnic tables outside, but we chose to take the food to go. Everything was nicely packaged and they even included plastic cutlery, napkins, and BBQ sauce. I really appreciated that because so many places nowadays don't include those things or you have to make sure to ask. Food: Brisket was tender, but would have liked it juicier and more flavor. Sausage was pretty good. Sides were decently sized. The BBQ beans were the best. Garlic corn (seemed like canned corn without much flavor) and potato salad were disappointing. This is the best deal on delicious barbecue you'll find anywhere! It was so good, we made it a point to go there twice - Actually we went there three times but the second time I went there, they actually were sold out so we had to make an extra trip to come back. Their side of ribs is so tender and delicious. I would advise to get the whole rack of ribs and split it between two people, and keep the leftovers if you have any for a snack. Definitely coming back if I'm anywhere near Albany. I think they have other locations too. read more

(They were on Hafez Lane NE, Albany, and after that, on Water Avenue NE, in Albany.) Their phone has not changed: 541-704-7333. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 11am 'till they're Sold Out! Ask about "hidden menu items" ... OBC calls them "tasty creations that you wont find on our normal menu but surely wont wanna miss." Came here last weekend, this was our first time being here, We loved it. I ordered the pulled pork w/ 2 sides meal, baked beans and potato salad. They offered me a roll, so I could make a sandwich with the meat, which was awesome because I was going to ask for one. The meat was great, I love the barbeque sauce. The baked beans were my favorite, they weren't too liquidy and had pulled pork ? mixed in, delicious !!! My husband got the brisket meal with the same sides, the brisket was really good, ( I'm going to order it next time) it was tender and had a good kick of pepper to it. We got my 5-year-old the kids meal with half a pulled pork sandwich there was so much meat in the sandwich I actually pulled some out so she could just eat it with a fork on the side. We got her the cold slaw, which was good. The kids meal was only $5 and it's a lot of food !! I would totally recommend coming here and I will be coming back myself. read more

It's going to pain me to write this, but I don't understand the rave of reviews. I wanted to like it, local, appears to be family owned and operated, and the prices weren't bad. I was on the road for work and had a bit of a drive, so I pulled in and ate there. They were out of ribs at 5pm, which is what I really wanted. but I opted for the sausage and brisket combo. The brisket was super dry, the sausage was like it was a hot dog pulled out of a package and dipped in bbq sauce, barely warm, no caramelization, literally looked like a hot dog out of a package. The beans tasted like pork and beans out of a can and the coleslaw wasn't anything special. I'm hoping it was just an off day, they've been around a while, but I would chose Famous Dave's (and I'm not a fan) if I had the choice. read more

We were not able to eat our meal until after we went to the store and bought our own buns. It would not have been that big of a deal if they would have given us a discount. This place is excellent. Bought a pound of brisket and two sides. Some of the best brisket I've had short of Texas and Porter's BBQ in Tricities Washington. Tender and somewhat lean for the cut. The To-go order was packed up well and kept everything warm to get home with no disaster spillage. Staff were friendly over the phone and even better in person. Quality, service and price all hit the mark. I'll be back for another visit and recommend you check it out. This place puts Adams Ribs BBQ in Salem to shame. Five of us had dinner on 6/4/19, 5:20 pm. Plenty of tables, clean with easy to read menu, quick and efficient service. 1. Out of chicken, really? At 5:20? How does that happen? 2. PRICEY! Holy cow, $16 for 2 small meat portions? 3. Pulled Pork was drowning in sauce, mushy, all we could taste was the bbq sauce. 4. Brisket was lean but so salty our mouths burned for hours. 5. Served my sandwich on a hot dog bun! 6. Sides: Buttered corn was a bit brown as we guessed it was old or a leftover from a day or two past, Cole slaw & Baked bean were good, Potato salad was a bit heavy on the mustard but ok. 7. Wanted to try the ribs but way too expensive. Recommendations: Larger portions, pork without sauce, mini corn on the cob, less salt on the rub, add corn bread, whole chickens, and reduce the price - holy cow we spent $80 for a $35-50 meal, include the drinks - they only cost pennies per serving. read more

AMAZING bbq! We were just passing through Albany so ordered the Gut Buster as an easy way to sample all the meats in one pass. Wowza, every meat (chicken, pulled pork, brisket, sausage link and ribs) was excellent!! The chicken stood out- Smokey, moist and absolutely delicious. The rib meat was fall off the bone tender and super tasty. The rest of the meats all had their own nuanced flavors, good as is or dunked in the side of bbq sauce or with the kickin (super meaty) beans. Good sized portions for great price, enough meat and sides (4) to feed hungry party of 3. OR BBQ will now be our regular stop for our OR road trips. read more
