The animals looked healthy - but that's about as far as the positives go. Now for the rest of it. Theyre blatantly dishonest and attempting to scam people by saying the animals have traits that they, in fact, do not have. As a reptile breeder (of a lot of the same animals they're selling) I know for a FACT that the animals do not have the traits they're saying, and even if they did have the traits that advertised, they'd still be incredibly overpriced. The prices in this store are astronomical, and not only on their animals, but also on their plants, supplies, and feeders. Beyond that they're a cash only store, and they blame that on payment processor fees. Trouble with that is your markup on products MORE than compensate for the fees charged by visa, and even the ones charged by more expensive companies like American Express and Discover. Honest mistakes certainly happen in business. But these are no mistakes, they're simply dishonest. Buying livestock from MorphMarket would be cheaper (even with shipping costs) than buying from here, and you'll have the added benefit of knowing you're purchasing from a reputable breeder, and not a second hand scammer. They only get the one star for cleanliness. Overall, I will never return to this store, and I'd highly advise that you don't pay them an initial visit. Get animals from real breeders, and get supplies down the street from Petco. These people are swindlers.

The store is right off a main street, and very, very easy to find - I love the big mural on the side. Inside, it's clean, brightly lit, and odor free. They've got a good selection of amphibians and reptiles, though I get why they wouldn't want to call it "Herptopia." I was able to get the frogs I wanted (and a few more), and check out a lot of really cool other critters. The staff are pleasant, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would say I'd go back again, but it's a six hour flight each way. ;) They're cash only, though they have an ATM on site. This is a narrow margin industry and I absolutely get why.

She was also very flexible, knowing that my cat has extreme anxiety when going to the office, and was willing to make accommodations to avoid a visit if possible, or provide a gentle sedative solution if not (highly recommend this; the difference was night and day). Nobody likes needing to go to the vet, but all in all, my experience with Periwinkle has been pleasant. They've taken very good care of my baby, from her first kittenhood check-ups to her ongoing "weird girl" little quirks as a young adult. Highly recommend!

I appreciated being able to have them come same day, to my house, and avoid the stress of the local emergency vet. The only thing was, and is common these days with any vet- it was so spendy. There was a travel fee of $45 (from Philomath to South Town Corvallis) Plus an urgent fee of $57. It did seem excessive, and unfortunate after 3 car repairs on my end. One thing I would love to suggest for vets is to offer a "Good Samaritan Fund" of adding $2-$5 on other services, or rounding up of change, to make end-of-life care cheaper for everyone. No one wants to go through the sad grief of losing a pet (sometimes instantly, sometimes shocking) to then be shocked and grieved with the large vet bill, just to say goodbye. Yes, it had to be done- but I think a Samaritan Fund would lend such a helping hand and ease the stress during those extremely sad moments.

Paws is more convenient but I'll be driving farther to go to Rivers Edge.
