Everyone here was so kind to my kids, even staying patient when it took us a long time to order. They were all fun and playful, and there was a funny sign about "the boss" that made us all laugh. I especially appreciated the gentleman who was running things. He just had such a great spirit. We ate our sandwiches on the drive home, and all three of my girls said they were the best sandwiches they'd ever had. On the way back to the car, we realized how close this place is to the Friends of the Library book store, so now I know if I'm ever in Berkeley again and using this parking garage we can always grab a book and grab a sandwich on the way home. 10/10 would recommend! read more

To the eye the place look very vintage to the colours to the photos and memorabilia hanging on the wall. Everything is very well organised despite having an old look. At times they may get hit hard with a rush, also the bread goes out fast here. My favourite is the Dutch crunch The food looks very fresh and updated. I get the veggie sandwich with everything. It's a bit too strong in the mustard side of things but I feel mustard id excessively added in order to mask the flavour of the veggies. The feta cheese in the sandwich, it compliments everything else. It's a bit strong but not overly overshadowing. Crisps and a plethora of drinks are available as well. Overall, very good quality. Sam is an incredibly amazing man. I walked past this place multiple times and never walked in. Then, I decided to find somewhere for a cheap quick lunch and decided to come in here. Got the Turkey Delight on Dutch Crunch without Mayo and I can only say it was tolerable. It had absolutely no flavor to it beyond the sugary cranberry spread. Dutch crunch did not taste right and likewise barely had any flavor to it. Could not taste the avocado or mustard. Turkey was pretty decent though, didn't taste dry to me, which I would argue is hard to come by. Since there is a lot of hype around other sandwiches, perhaps I'll try those next time around.
