They had plenty of interesting options to choose from but we were craving for thai curry so went with that. The ambiance was welcoming. The food came out pretty quickly too. First off, the portion size was good for two people. The quantity was good. The thai curry itself was a bit too watery for my liking. However, the quinoa, rice, veggies and tofu were cooked to perfection! I liked the basil addition, it definitely elevated the flavor overall! I wished it came with some hot sauce. I'm always happy every time I have Humbowl! It's lovely to find a restaurant where vegetarian and vegan meals take center stage and aren't afterthoughts. The breakfast hash is my favorite, the veggies are cooked well and seasoned nicely, and the cilantro ginger sauce takes everything to another level. Their Thai curry is also delicious, perfect balance of ingredients i.e. generous portions of protein and veggies and not too much rice. Same for their sesame jasmine bowl (pictured). It's interesting that they offer a wide variety of bowls but they all *taste* like Humbowl, i.e. the ingredients all work really well together. And I never feel sick or heavy after eating their meals. Overall, the bowl tasted incredibly fresh, definitely fresher than something like Chipotle. The sweet potatoes were super tender and pretty much melted in my mouth. That said, my bowl came out to around $17 after tax and tip, and for that price, I don't know if I'd get it regularly. Compared to something like chipotle, where you get a bigger portion for less, this feels more like an option once in a while. I think a lot of what you're paying for here is the overall experience: the bright, well-lit space, the natural light, the nice seating, and the fact that you're right in Elmwood near the movie theater and a bunch of great dessert places. The restaurant was clean with about 6-7 tables. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal - the food was prepared with fresh ingredients and tasted healthy. Yum! My kids LOVE this place, which, as a mom of two grade school boys, means the world. I love that they get a healthy meal that they devour and I get to know that they got all the nutrients they needed, all super quick and reasonably priced. I don't know ANY other restaurant where I can get that quantity of all-healthy food for that price in 2026. Eric (one of the owners) let us do a free tasting, made a custom sauce for us, and was able to accommodate lots of vegetarians and vegans. They worked within the confines of the venue with no issues. The in-house spicy sauce goes well with it all, and they recently added these spice shakers that truly pack a punch.
