I visited Alita for the first time today for a Brazilian wax. I have been searching for a new sugarist for the past few months, and I think I may have found them! The shop was quaint and filled with wonderful bright light. Overall a wonderful vibe and holistic feeling space. Alita was very welcoming, and we had a lovely conversation during my service. I must say, that this has been by far the easiest and least painful wax that I have ever received. I am looking forward to trying some of the other services offered, such as facials and skincare. ***EDITED DUE TO OWNER RESPONSE*** The owner has responded that it was my lack of flexibility that caused the missed hairs. This has not been a problem before and there were multiple missing hairs everywhere. Additionally, the positioning the owner put me in for all brazilian areas was different than any other waxer and was not optimal to reach all areas. I did in fact express dissatisfaction after asking myself for a mirror (usually I am offered one) and had some hairs cleaned up. There was not close inspection after as usual. Again, this hasn't happened in other experiences. PREVIOUS REVIEW i've been this salon a couple of times and intentionally sought it out because it is a black owned organic sugaring salon. the owner is really sweet and the space is cute, but each time i received a bikini wax the job wasn't 100% and there were some missed spaces that didn't have hair. i personally value when someone working on me ensures that this isn't case, but it's been hard to find this. both times i asked for fixing in the moment, which alita was happy to do, but each time i got home i still found some problems. it's unfortunate because it's such a dope concept! read more

I made an appointment to visit Alita's salon earlier in the month. It had been over a year since I had been sugared due to the pandemic and my comfortable levels with getting those personal services done. And on top of that, my usual go-to sugarer is located in the city, and I wasn't able to visit her - so, I needed to find someone closer. Which we all know is hard to do with this type of service being performed. I feel like I lucked out finding Alita's business.
