Finally, a local dim sum place so we don't have to go to Queens! We got there just as it opened on a Sunday. Variety of selections, all piping hot and delicious. Baked pork buns, shrimp vegetable dumplings, short rib dumplings, shrimp dumplings, shrimp rice dumplings, sticky rice (big chunk of Chinese sausage), sesame balls, fried pork meat dumplings, everything was really good. Large shrimp in the dishes. Friendly service too. Parking lot in front and rear of restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was very friendly- restaurant filled up fast on a Sunday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had a lot of leftovers. For two people, bill was $55, and we ordered several dishes! Prices were same as usual Dimsum places. Can't wait to go back. Good luck to this place.

Solid and authentic dim sum without having to go to Chinatown. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Can be busy on the weekends so we come early.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Love the rolling hot food cart to choose from and plentiful of various steamed dumplings, bbq roast pork buns, sesame balls and egg custards.

I drove past and decided to try this restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the outside it looks like a diner but inside the decor is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated right away, the waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the Tangerine chicken and it was ok. We had chicken and broccoli, it was very salty for my taste. I would come back and try other items on the menu.

Solid Chinese restaurant with a large menu of traditional dishes and dim sum. In the evenings, some dim sum dishes are available as appetizers. I typically go to Chinese restaurants in Flushing, but I came out to Orient Garden on her recommendation - I was not disappointed. Service was friendly and quick. We ordered the steamed oysters, some dim sum, beef hor fun and ginger & garlic lobster. Everything was flavorful and fresh with large portions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was busy but still relatively quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is also a parking lot.

Came in for a late night snack. Ended ordering fried fish w garlic. The batter was akin to the ones you get w home fries except w a light sweet taste. It was tasty just a little unexpected.

During Thanksgiving weekend, we decided to check out Orient Garden on Herrick's Road, a Hong Kong Cantonese dim sum spot in New Hyde Park. The restaurant was clean yet pricier than most dim sum spots located in the 5 boroughs. Service was a bit slow as if we were in a packed dim sum place in Elmhurst but this spot was much less crowded. Highlights Steamed beef rice noodle Steamed spare ribs Steamed short rib spare ribs Steamed pork buns Egg tarts Baked Custard Bun Beef Chow Fun Despite higher prices, I'd definitely return to try other dishes.

We finally checked this place out for dim sum after months and months of wanting to come. We came on a Saturday when they first opened and sat right away. They come quickly with the carts so you can get food and if it's not on the cart you can order off the menu. The food was good, and a much better experience compared to the places we normally go to in little neck. We shall return when we are in the mood for dim sum.

Food and price quality are good. Seats are neat and big table good. Lots of parking at back building. Will try dinner one day !

Located in the heart of Garden City, the Rose Room is easily accessible and offers ample parking. Like so many years past, my colleagues and I are always on the hunt for that special place and experience that will elevate our holiday dinner outing. I was so pleased that The Rose Room was selected. As mentioned, the elegance and ambiance of the restaurant are pitch-perfect. The hostess, wait staff, and management all delivered top-notch service. The food was spectacular. I especially enjoyed the bacon maple stripe. My colleagues and I devoured them in seconds. I can't say enough good things about The Rose Room. That said, I am looking forward to my next visit. I would recommend adding The Rose Room to this holiday's restaurant rotation.

It's as described by others... if you're staying on site, it's worth checking out but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. We were starving and glad to see some apps on the menu, however, nothing super appealing after you've had a few drinks. We got the shrimp cocktail (3 pieces) and a small charcuterie board. Together this was over $50 before tip and overpriced. I think options are limited because they don't have a kitchen nearby.

Portions are generous, the cocktails (like mojitos and sangria) are excellent, and the lively atmosphere makes it a great spot for both casual dining and celebrations. They offer rich, comforting, and authentic Cuban flavors. Diners love the slow-roasted pork (pernil) and Ropa Vieja, which melt in your mouth. If you want something lighter, the Cubano sandwich on Long Island is frequently cited as a destination-worthy staple. The space feels warm and family-run, as what I may describe as stepping into an "abuela's house". The staff is highly attentive and offers great menu recommendations. It tends to get packed--especially on weekend evenings--but the lively vibe (including staff-led birthday songs) adds to the charm. I note that the pricing is moderate and reasonable for the high quality and generous portion sizes, frequently allowing diners to take home leftovers.

Normally, I don't start a review on a negative but after we left and counting up all the missteps, I felt off. My wife is more forgiving, she liked the Frito Misto and Bolognese. It's hard to believe this was a BBQ spot a few years ago. The glass garage door is still in place, back in the day it was enjoyable during the spring. There's a reason why it's called Sparrow Cocktails. I ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned. Made with Angel's Envy Bourbon and wood smoked chips, this was a great cocktail before dinner. The Frito Misto had a delicate coating, it wasn't overly battered. The green dipping sauce served on the side was bland. It didn't add to the dish and was thin. The Malfalde Bolognese was a hearty portion, we were able to share this large dish between the two of us. Made with beef, veal and pork and simmered in San Marzono tomatoes, this entree satisfies all my pasta cravings. I was looking for some grated cheese, none was offered.. The Back Sea Bass special, IMHO we should have passed. My wife asked about bones and was told they de-bone the fish table side. What was served to us was a fish that was cooked well but was full of small pin bones. We passed on dessert, it was time to go. an expensive meal that doesn't warrant a return visit.

Overall, we found many of the dishes to be overly salty and oily. I ordered the rib sandwich and was disappointed because it wasn't what I expected. I anticipated an actual rib sandwich, but it appeared to be more like shredded beef and didn't have the flavor or texture of ribs. My son ordered the stuff Nutella French Toast and ended up sending them back. The eggs he was served were also quite salty. My daughter did not enjoy her burger, which was unusually thick and difficult to eat as prepared. My wife finished her meal, but she did not find it particularly enjoyable and felt the portion size was too small for the price. I think part of the issue may have been the limited Father's Day brunch menu. Had there been more options available, we might have found dishes that better suited our tastes. Additionally, dessert was not included in the package, which was somewhat disappointing. While the atmosphere and service were definite positives, the food did not meet our expectations. Based on this experience, I'm not sure if I would return.
