    No.1 pho

I'm sorry... this was a disappointment. How do you serve 2 of the same orders of pho where i felt like the chef just dunked everything in the broth and then tossed it into the bowl. Beef was over cooked and 1 of the 2 orders of pho had NO tripe! like wtf!? and you give HALF a beef ball...for EACH bowl!? Come on now.... Drink was just a simple powder mix in a takeout cup... If you're claiming yourself a higher end then serve it in a glass... and use ACTUAL tea with the heavy cream... The spring rolls was a joke. I'm sorry. You also had a construction guy cutting things up with his miter saw while we're eating!? For the price we paid. The value is DEFINITELY not there.

A really good pho spot in Mineola. I was so excited that an authentic pho spot opened up in my hometown. I enjoyed everything we ordered and the owner was really kind and even gave us a free Thai iced tea. The atmosphere was really pretty with an orangy Southeast Asian theme. The pork spring rolls were so satisfying and addicting. The skin was incredibly crispy and paired really well with ground pork. I don't usually like summer rolls but the shrimp summer roll paired with their creamy peanut sauce was refreshing. The beef pho was great. It has everything I liked from semi raw beef, beef tendon balls

I have to find out why the name of this place starts as Rio the next time I eat here and there will definitely be a next time because the food is really good. They are much better at making food than picking restaurant names. The pho broth is very tasty. One of the better ones around. My sister recommended the crispy crepe and for the first time I can remember, she was right about something. Hopefully she reads this at some point. make sure you eat the crepe dish with the vegetables and the sauce. They all work great together. Will be back and I will get lowdown on that name...

Rio is a new Vietnamese restaurant that opened up near my house. Ever the foodie, I dropped in to check it out. Ambience - Walking in, it does not look like a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. In fact, nothing about the furniture or decor would even suggest it's Asian. It's modern and slightly upscale. Food - we ordered: Butter Fried Frog Legs - it tastes like chicken, lol, but the butter overpowered the flavor of the frog. 3/5 Crispy Fried Duck - deep fried and crunchy, but unfortunately overcooked and dry. 3/5 Fried Spring Roll - crunchy and delicious. 4/5 House Beef Pho - traditional slices of raw beef served in a broth that has been cooked for 8 hours. Rich and savory. 4/5 Grilled chicken - well seasoned and grilled. Slight sweetness and caramelization. 4/5

This is now one of our favorite Vietnamese restaurants on the island. They have a small parking lot. The food here is all fresh. They give you nice size portions. The atmosphere is nice and calm. So glad they opened up. Still don't have their liquor license yet. The staff doesn't bother you. In fact they all seem very shy. I ordered the pork belly rice vermicelli and it's not a good dish like other places. The noodles are warm. I appreciate that especially now that it's the winter.

Two visits in 3 days ... yeah, I think we like it. Could this be our new Vietnamese spot? We got here and didn't have to wait for a table. The restaurant was at 60% capacity and it was a good mix of different nationalities so we figured we'd give it a try. I've heard it said that if you walk into an Asian establishment and see mostly Asians, you're in the right spot. The restaurant was clean, the tables had the table numbers on the top corners and the chairs were big and comfortable. The waitstaff were very pleasant and social. The first time we went, my husband ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and I ordered an iced Thai milk tea. The waitress ended up giving my son a complimentary iced Thai milk tea which he really enjoyed. We've ordered the fried spring rolls, which was very tasty. The Vietnamese fish dipping sauce, nuoc cham, was very good. The frog legs were good, not the best I've ever had but still good. I ordered the house beef pho, no onions or cilantro with the raw eye round on the side. Very tasty as well. My son ordered the grilled pork chop which he said was marinated nicely with a nice char to it. My husband order the back rib pho and we all felt the meat was so tender. Can't wait to return! Wishing Rio continued success in 2025!!

Authentic Vietnamese food. My family had Banhmi, pho, snail w/ coconut sauce, spring roll, and pork chop. I didn't taste any artificial flavoring like other Vietnamese restaurants. Very friendly and attentive staffs. Will definitely be our go to Vietnamese place in Nassau !!

Best beef pho around and truly authentic Vietnamese food. Great customer service and they have a karaoke system (for parties). It's a new restaurant and I'm so glad to finally find a great Vietnamese restaurant. I'd highly recommend!

3.5 stars - not 4. No option to do half stars. Depending on what you order, food can really be a hit or miss. I ordered the spicy pork shoulder pho, my husband got the beef cubes over vermicelli and we got ribeye beef cubes over rice for our kids to share. We also shared French fries, shrimp summer rolls and a squid skewer. My noodle soup was super delicious - lemon grassy and so flavorful. It wasn't super spicy and the soup was so comforting. The beef cubes were too sweet in the rice dish but too salty in the vermicelli dish. Why were they so different? No idea! Squid was meh, shrimp summer rolls were fine, the peanut sauce that it came with was good though! Fries were also well fried and crunchy. The restaurant itself was nice. There's art on the walls and the seating area was comfortable. They are currently working on getting their liquor license. The staff was great and accommodating for our large dinner group (16 people), more than half of them being kids. Great place to try with family or friends!

He requested a surprise birthday candle in the cake and they also put it on a plate that says happy birthday. Really nice presentation! He unfortunately didn't love their version of fra diavolo because it has a ton of peppers. Otherwise it was tasty, he just picked out most of the peppers. The seafood in it was cooked well and he said the shrimp was his favorite part. We also added extra tapas - -brussels sprouts (VERY good) -baked clams (these have stuffing with shrimp and a slice of bacon on top. The menu wasn't overwhelming, and there were definitely many amazing options to choose from. We ended up getting the grilled octopus and burrata as starters for our table. The burrata I felt was the most underwhelming dish out of all the ones we had ordered as the bread underneath was toasted to the point that we couldn't really cut it or chew it because it was so crispy/stale and I think I would pass on this dish. The grilled octopus though? Phenomenal. I would highly recommend getting it as an appetizer for the table as the flavours of each component was just amazing and the octopus itself was perfectly seasoned and not overcooked. For entrees, we decided to share 2 pastas and a pizza and they were all amazing as well. I believe the pizza we had ordered was a spicy vodka pizza, and the crust was nice and thin and crispy, but still held up which is what I love! One of the pastas we had ordered was a ragu bolognese which was wonderful, but I think the star of the entrees was the Friday pasta special! It was tortellini in a mushroom cream sauce with lobster and other seafood and I loved how the tortellini's flavour didn't overpower the dish at all. For dessert, we ordered the cannoli cheesecake and the baked apple tart , and the apple tart definitely blew us all away! It was nice and hot on the skillet, and the flavour of the apple filling with the flaky pie/tart pastry was so delicious, especially with a bit of the melting ice cream on top! Overall, I had an amazing experience here and would definitely recommend coming here for a date night or even a group dinner!

First thing we noticed, in the area we were seated at, right by the waiter station was a mountain, a big disgusting mountain, of dirty dishes piled up on display. Totally not acceptable. The food took a long time to come to the table. First the bread, then the appetizers, then the main. We sat there with a table full of dirty dishes the entire meal, no one checked on us and cleared the table. No one. Actually, nobody moved our appetizer dishes before the main dishes came, I got up and moved them to another table as the waiter was putting the main course on the table. It was comically unacceptable. Also, don't expect steak knives with your steak or chops, we had to ask for them; we were left to use the butter knives we had from our bread. Also, beware the fish special and the truffle fries, no bueno. The manager I spoke to was useless. It he didn't see all of this incompetence unfolding around him, he's an uncaring leader. I told him how I had to move dishes to another table and showed him them. He cleared the dirty dishes off of that table and asked us if there was anything else we needed. Yes, we were still waiting on our truffle fries. He brought them, and that was all he did. At least the main waiter removed the nasty fish dish from our bill. Avoid this place. It's too expensive for crappy service and mediocre food. It was the first time I left less than a 25% tip in over 20 years, the service was so terrible, I still feel as if I left too much money.
