If you're too tired or too lazy to find something other than old timely Cantonese, the Orient Kitchen might be just the bet for you. Food for pickup is always ready quickly, but delivery can be a tortuous affair, sometimes arriving LONG after originally promised. One good thing though: the (very pretty) owner is always ready to cut a deal for late delivery. Last time she was 45 minutes later than promised, and I got 20% off the dinner tab! Good food ... Simply horrible management. Been coming here on and off for 10 years. Last 3 visits...they've been unable to get the order right. Manager today told me it's my responsibility (not there's) to check the order before I leave and if they got it wrong the third time I would not be invited back. Seriously? We picked up take out last night to bring to some new friends house and all i can say is IF you want clean fresh chinese food THIS is where you have to order take out from. I noticed there was very little seating so I am assuming they are better known for their take out service. I had Mushu Pork! It was GREAT. My friends had Broccoli chicken, Duck appetizer and a dumpling appetizer and the last person in our party had what looked like Kung Pow Chicken. The won ton soup and eggrolls were very good and the meal was piping hot when we got to our friends home. When I visit my west Boca friends I will always stop in at Oriental Kitchen and pick up some killer chinese to go... Clean, fresh and not goopy like other chinese restaurants. The food from orient kitchen has been a staple in my household for years. You can't beat a place with amazing food at a great price. Must try the shrimp and lobster sauce and Szechuan eggplant . This is by far the best Chinese takeout restaurant in Boca Raton. We recently moved out of delivery range and drive past many other Chinese restaurants at least once a week because it is worth the wait. Their food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. What a pleasant surprise. Found this place on my GPS, and went in with very modest expectations for a quick take-out lunch. Ordered mild yellow panag curry with chicken. The portion was ample, the flavor was really good, the chicken was tender, vegetable assortment was more varied than I expected with red bell peppers, green beans, and yellow squash, white rice was fluffy, crispy noodles smelled burnt, (but i never eat them anyway), hot mustard, duck sauce, and soy sauce included. I tried this newly-opened takeout restaurant with a $10 off $25 coupon I received in the mail. As indicated by the 2-star review, I wasn't impressed. The kitchen was clean and the staff was very friendly. My order was ready for pickup timely and it was properly complete. However, to summarize the food quality in one word: BLAND! I ordered 3 combination dinners to feed the family, and although portions were somewhat smaller than expected, they were adequate. The highlight was definitely the wonton soup, which was EXCELLENT in terms of taste/quality, but half the size of what I get with a combination dinner from my "go-to" local Chinese takeout joint. After that, it was mostly all downhill. The egg rolls were very dry inside and not nearly as crispy as I'd like (undercooked?). For entrees, I ordered chicken lo mein, beef and broccoli, and general tso's chicken. I thought the chicken lo mein was incredibly bland, though it was salvageable with a healthy dousing from the included packets of soy sauce. Once drenched in that salty goodness, I very much enjoyed the lo mein. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the beef and broccoli. It was absolutely flavorless (the dish is meant to be prepared with oyster sauce, which is quite strong in its flavor, but I tasted nothing). There was nothing I could do to make me want more. The general tso's chicken was decent. It could have used a bit more heat, but the breading wasn't too thick and sauce was passable. The fried rice that came with all but the lo mein was also flavorless and disappointing. If I was too sick to make Grandma's chicken soup and matzoh ball, and needed an old school remedy, I'd drink their wonton soup by the gallon. As for the rest of the menu, while I'm sure I could find one or two good dishes, I don't think Orient Kitchen is going to be my new spot for Chinese takeout. read more

Update: We had been taking out food from this location (Orient Palace before) for the last 15 years. We had stopped going a while back because we thought the food was not up to its usual standard. However, we recently came back and were pleasantly surprised to find the place had upped its game. The quantity and quality of the beef/chicken/pork has improved, the veggies are crisp and interesting, and many dishes are now spicy (as should they should be). Glad to have Orient Kitchen back in the take-out rotation! We have enjoyed takeout from the Orient Palace for years. Shredded beef homestyle is one of our favorites. Lastly, we placed about six individual orders at the same time for delivery. They applied a 2 dollar delivery charge to every single order. I've been going here for our take out since I moved to boca approximately 13 years ago. Tonight, they have lost me as a customer. I always order the Beef Chow Fun and ask for four chili sauces. Tonight, the receptionist argued with me and told me 2 was enough. I explained that both my wife and I drown the chow fun in it and I would not mind paying extra. I've eaten at this place several times and up to now, the food has been great - very flavorful! This last time, however, the food was terrible. They must have a new cook. The Panang Curry had the wrong flavor, I don't know what they put in it, but it was not the same as in the past. The veggies were overcooked in all 3 dishes I ordered. Overall, the food was pretty poor and bland. The most disappointing part was that they charged me more than the amount on my bill.
