My husband and I are new to Palm Coast and tired from moving. So we were looking for a Chinese restaurant and this one had decent reviews. This was our experience. When we were seated, the host swept it off with her hand and at proceeded, I noticed that there were crumbs on the table. There was also a bottle of sauce, and when I picked it up to see what kind of sauce it was the bottle was sticky with almost dried whatever. My husband ordered a large bowl of egg drop soup and I ordered one shrimp egg roll and shrimp egg foo young. He had a jaw infection from a broken tooth and he was very happy with egg drop soup. When one of the young men that works there brought our order to us he tossed it on the table right in front of us, causing the plastic containers to slide several inches across the table. It wasn't that everything was wrong. It was just not enough things that were right. The egg roll was so hard I could hardly bite into it and the shrimp bake foo young had two carrots and a piece of bok choy and egg and a few baby shrimp. There was a lot of foot traffic while we were there. I didn't count them but they had I would think at least 10 booths and at least one large round table in the middle. So they intended to have a sit down restaurant and there were a few people that came in and sat down and ate but over a two hour period. I counted maybe four people including us. We order for delivery and we're very disappointed. 1. Special House fried rice (with special spices?) bland and mushy. As the most expensive fried rice dish on the menu it should have been tasty. 2. Kung Pow chicken with peanuts was overly packed with nuts but lacked the spiciness as there were NO hot red peppers, nor water chestnuts. It was more like light brown flavorless sauce with shredded chicken, chopped carrots, green peppers and what may have been green squash (???). The vegetables weren't even cubed as the dish is traditionally prepared. Even the white rice that accompanied the Kung Pow chicken was small grained and clumpy like cement mortar. How can a Chinese restaurant fail at preparing rice? 4. The Spring rolls were over fried and slightly filled with paste mixture that may have consisted white onion and cabbage. Mostly the roll was fried wrapper. All 3 diners spit it out as simply too gross to politely swallow. Ordered via Grub Hub, and I didn't eat it for 10 minutes after it arrived. Food was on time and everything was piping hot. I got Moo Goo Gai Pan (velveted chicken and vegetables), shrimp egg foo Yung and house special soup. The moo goo was just as it should be - garlic taste evident, seasoned well, chicken tender and plentiful. I would have enjoyed a wider variety of veggies like water chestnuts, bamboo shoots and broccoli, but the mushrooms, baby corn and Bok Choi were very good. This is a favorite dish that I always order and it was spot on. The egg foo Yung was nicely browned and had plenty of little shrimp. The sauce wasn't brown which puzzled me, but it tasted good anyhow. Leftovers are always good for breakfast! The house special soup is Wor Won Ton which is also an old favorite of mine. I think the won tons were house made, they tasted fresh. The vegetables were plentiful and the stock was well seasoned. The BBQ pork was tender. I only had a small bowl and I suspect if I'd ventured further I would have found chicken and shrimp. I added white pepper to the soup and the Moo Goo, so if you have some keep it handy. As a final word, if you have Amazon Prime you get Grub Hub free for a year, so I thought, why not try it? I am glad that I tried this place! We will order from here again. read more

Oriental Garden was our family favorite until last night. We usually order General Tso Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Three Egg Rolls, and Crab Ragoon, and Brown Rice. The last time we ordered we noticed a dip in the quality of the food, meaning it did not taste quite as good as we remembered. And all of our family members agreed it was not as good. We decided to give them another chance because we have been ordering their food for years, but this time the food was much worse. The rice was grey, not brown, and tasted off. The General Tso did not taste the same as well. The Sweet and Sour also tasted quite different. The EggRoll and Crab Ragoon were fine however. Everyone was scraping their food into the garbage, this does not usually happen. We did not even put leftovers in the fridge like we always do. Everything was tossed away. I have tried many Chinese restaurants since moving to Palm Coast from NJ last September. I still have to find a place that I can count on for good food. I tried Oriental Garden today and the only tasteful item on the menu was the egg drop soup. Pepper steak: steak was chewy and grisly but veggies and sauce were ok. Boiled dumplings (they should be steamed) were filled with a mystery meat and the wrapper was chewy too. Fried rice was hard and no flavor. Egg roll was not great either. Had another real good meal today. Party of 10, walked in, sat down no problem. One guy running the dining room and an older lady that helps. I guess they have a cook in the back. The waiter takes care of tables, take out, phone calls, checks, serving, drinks, and everything else. Dude works non-stop. Taking phone orders while delivering food to customers, Every table is his. I'd like to see the outback kids even try. The food was pretty good. No complaints or issues. Every order, even special requests, were taken no problem and delivered to the table correctly. I was at the grocery store and saw this little place (i believe it's called Shin Shin Oriental Garden) in the strip. Its a restaurant - doesn't look like much inside - with carry out service as well. I ordered the jumbo shrimp with garlic sauce (upon suggestion from the guy that took my order). I had ordered it because i wanted something spicy - which it really wasn't. BUT the shrimp were so huge and juicy. i've never had shrimp taste that good at a Chinese restaurant, or any other cuisine than straight up sea food. They were so sweet and cooked perfectly. Just the right texture. The sauce was good and the mix of veggies was very nice as well. I also purchased the crab rangoon. This order is 8 delightful pockets stuffed FULL with the cheese filling and crab. They were so good. The outside was crispy and delicious and i mean they were really full of the filling. Overall, I paid $14.98 for these two dishes and will have enough food for at least tonight and tomorrow. The portions probably could have served two people tonight and tomorrow. Please go! You won't be sorry. If the sauce had been a little spicier, I'd have given it a 5 star rating. read more

We were very disappointed In the quality of our food. I ordered the General Tso's tofu. I was expecting a tasty spicy dish but it was bland and not at all spicy. It was supposed to come with broccoli but there were only 2 little pieces. My husband ordered sweet and sour pork. He said it was chewy and the pieces were mostly batter. This is probably one of my most visited restaurants. It's close to my house, so I usually pick up carry-out and take it home. The food is always ready when I get there and the portions are good. I get Singapore noodles almost every time and they're seriously amazing. I just tried the chicken teriyaki on a stick this week and it was equally delicious! They also have one of the best egg drop soups I've found around Palm Coast. I will be back many more times. read more

On a hot day A/C turned off... help seemed beat and uninspired.... sat at table- soy sauce, duck sauce, mustard, salt & pepper shakers & napkin holders full of gross filth - haven't been cleaned in months. Was it packed in there? NO - I could see if it was dirty from a busy weekend but this was on Thursday lunch. Dead as a doornail in there. The lunch menu is appealing as everything on there is CHEAP. Lunch was only $6- I overheard the next table saying her food was nothing to write home about...BLAND Got the Jumbo shrimp w/garlic sauce- came with a free hot and sour soup that was watered down and very boring. Lacked any flavor. Then came the main dish- four big shrimp with fried rice. Now I eat lots of Chinese food and most of the time you get lots of grease. Not one speck of grease in the meal...all was watery- NO FLAVOR - overall rates one of the worse places ever... When I went up to pay the red countertop was caked with filth...WTF I wonder what the kitchen looks like and when was the last time the health inspector came????? Can't comment on the dine in experience but the take away was pretty good. We had the Four Seasons(beef, shrimp, pork and chicken) Hunan Beef and sweet and Sour Chicken. The food was what I would expect from a local Chinese restaurant, great taste, good mix of meat and veg. Many other places either pack it with veg or lots of bland meat but this place got the mix just right. BEWARE...portion size is HUGE.
