The food is fresh and they have become our new Go To for sushi and poke bowls. They have nice sit down restaurant too! They're a fairly large restaurant that can accommodate large groups. They also serve seafood dishes: fried shrimp, fish and crab boils. My only criticism is they bring the food on noisy carts when serving to the table. Not great. But certainly good enough. The edamame app was a generous serving and served hot with a good amount of salt sprinkled over the dish. The gyoza was very average - the pieces were relatively void of any discernible protein filling. The sashimi pieces were all a nice size and tasted fresh. Not much to say about miso soup - it's pretty much the same everywhere. But the salad was a pleasant surprise. Most restaurants put very little effort in preparing such a basic dish. Wild Ginger's salad was cold, crisp, and fairly generous. The hibachi steak was served hot. The amount of steak we received was definitely on the small side. The fried rice was moist and tasty. Next time, more meat please. Service was very good. Our server was a tall young guy who was enthusiastic, prompt, and proactive - he followed up with drink refills without us having to wave him down. We are in town and were fooled by the g reviews. I am surprised the reviews are even decent here. The ONLY items on this menu that were good: seafood boil and sushi. The seaweed salad, the rice for hibachi, noodles that weren't on the menu for hibachi, ginger dressing on salad. Just not good at all. The service was bad. One server understood for a Wednesday night but if you are going to be that bad do not charge gratuity. We had to get up a few times to ask for items that are normally provided, ie chopsticks.. when I asked she only gave me one.. so then when she came to the table another person asked for another chopstick, she gave one more, another asked she gave one more. Came here for the first time with a few friends several weeks ago. I had been to the one in Daytona Beach two years ago, but this was my first time at the Palm Coast location. It was very delicious and cannot wait to try more. My favorite thing was the garlic edamame. I also got the veggie roll without avocado and I would 100% get it again. I thought it was kind of funny that they still had to core from the previous restaurant which was a seafood restaurant. It wasn't too busy, but also not dead at the same time. We don't have this chain by us in NY and I wanted to try it out. I don't think this location was the way to do that. It's in the old Red Crab building and they didn't change ANYTHING. The interior is the same, the seats still have the logo on the backs of them, they're even reusing the napkin dispensers on the tables with the red crab on them. The whole experience of walking in it just weird - I can't really explain it but the vibe is way way off. It's dirty feeling and used, which isn't how you want to feel when eating seafood, especially raw seafood. All that being said, the food itself was pretty good. We only tried the lettuce wraps and had three sushi rolls (I've forgotten the names of them) and all were decent. I just would choose to go to a better sushi restaurant than eat here. There's a few little hiccups such as waiting to be seated and then waiting for someone to take our order. Out of fairness, we did arrive right at opening time of 11:00. It felt like they just weren't ready to start doing business. We started with their special appetizer of Ocean Nest which was absolutely delightful. A nest of fresh mango and cucumber sticks topped with sashimi tuna, salmon, and krab with a savory ponzu style sauce and topped with fresh cilantro. So fresh and balanced. Our mains were from the lunch menu. Mine was Kung Pao Shrimp that was delicious but missing the peanuts. Same situation with my husband's Kung Pao Tofu ... no peanuts. My husband had two specialty sushi rolls (Red Dragon and Lucky Dragon) and I had the Tonkotsu Ramen (extra spicy). All of them were so great! I ordered the Edamame and Thai Chili Chicken wings. I was not a fan of the wings, they were over cooked or microwaved (not quite sure). Also had a JB roll. It was just okay. Eel skin a little chewy. The waiter was mentioned in the reviews before. He was very quick to have us order and was not available for questions. He dropped of ipad to finish checking out and left it at table. We ordered rangoons and shrimp dumplings for appetizer and the teppenayki dinners (both of us got shrimp and steak). Dumplings were good, rangoons were yellow inside which I have never seen, but no crab present at all. The dinners had way overcooked steak, shrimp was fine, rice not cooked through. Was supposed to be fried rice- no veggies in it. Noodles were good but the zucchini and veggies in dinner were not cooked all the way. We were very sad, especially with the cost being 70. Oh their sushi I would just stay clear from if you're a high level sushi eater but if you aren't then go for it, not my cup of tea which is why I stick to the seafood boils and the fried baskets.
