Gross! I ordered the American salad and on their menu it says egg, bacon, tomato...I'm thinking it's going to be boiled egg like a "normal" salad, NOPE! They put a fried egg on top, YUCK! Decent food but mediocre service. We stopped by on a Friday night and it was empty, probably cause the location's new and well, Friday nights don't normally scream healthy eating in my book anyway. The menu was promising and since I had been to another Original Chop Shop in the valley and gotten myself the Cheat Day Wrap, I had high hopes for this location in my neck of the woods. Unfortunately, this visit was a little lackluster in comparison, especially when our beet salad, well, didn't have beets. We brought it back to the kitchen and the beets were hastily thrown on and handed back to us. I usually love this place. But today I got an Acai Bowl around 830am & took it home. Once I was eating, it tasted great as usual. Then I started choking & couldn't breathe & pulled a piece of plastic out the top of my throat. I was in disbelief! So I started digging around in the fruit bowl & found several (12+) pieces of a purple plastic bag. Some pieces are as big as the top of my finger. Looking closely, one piece actually reads part of the word "Acai". I called the Chop Shop location (Warner & Emerald, off I-10, in front of IKEA) & asked to speak to the manager. They asked who I was. Then put me on hold and Julie or Julia answered saying she was manager for the shift. She apologized, said they don't do refunds & offered a credit on my account for future food. Are you kidding me?!? I didn't ask for a refund. I just don't want anyone else to freaking choke to death!!!! To be honest, she didn't sound like she took it serious. Almost sounded like she was talking through a smile or holding back a laugh. So glad to have this so near to us now! Stopped in for lunch and talked with the cashier about vegan/vegetarian options. While she wasn't completely sure the manager piped up and gave me a couple great suggestions. The menu has tons of protein bowls, salads and sandwiches as well as juices and yummy parfaits. I ended up ordering the green curry tofu and wow. It did not disappoint. This is also in the big shopping area with Total Wine, Dick's and Ikea which is great having a restaurant so near to all of it. A friend from work recommended this place to me because I like vegan places. I tried it yesterday and I can say it was appetizing. I got the green curry tofu bowl on quinoa. The tofu was grilled and had tremendous char flavor that I really enjoyed. One usually finds grilled tofu is soggy, but this place had crispy edges and lots of flavor. The only things I would change were next time I would get extra sauce it was a bit sparse and it was kinda pricey. Over $9 for just the bowl. If you're looking for a quick, healthier, and fresh meal this is the place! I had their Chili Lime Bowl with shrimp + quinoa and I wasn't disappointed! The bowl had good spice & sauce was yummy! Also, the vegetables were cooked perfectly with enough seasoning. The amount of protein wasn't huge (but I'm a petite gal) so it was fine for me, but don't expect a large portion of meat. And the quinoa was a bit tasteless but I didn't think that was abnormal (it's quinoa after all). They had perfect portions (not big) which I enjoyed because I didn't feel overly stuffed or tempted to overeat. My friend had a Piña- Kale-ada smoothie and it was honestly delicious! Kale was unexpectedly good with pineapple and it wasn't overly sweet. Blended smoothly and was a fun shade of light green! I was working at the Arizona Grand and looking for a healthy food option close by. I had heard about The Original Chop Shop before and I know that there is one close to where I live, but I had never been there before. I liked their menu and the fact that they had breakfast options, healthy sandwiches, shakes, and more. I ended up eating there two days in a row. One day I ordered the avo shake which was delicious, I got the grinder Italian sandwich for my husband, and I ordered the kale and quinoa salad for myself. I thought the prices were reasonable, I called ahead for a pick up order and it was very easy, the service was great. It was interesting, though. My salad was literally called the "kale and quinoa" yet there was no trace of kale to be found. It was made with Romain lettuce and it looked like a teaspoon of quinoa. The salad was still delicious, it just wasn't really what I ordered. Also, my husband raved about his sandwich, but it was just funny that it was called a "grinder" but it was on multi grain bread. We laughed about that. The second day, I ordered the sunrise wrap and the power green juice. The wrap was pretty good, of course I chose a healthier option so it was a bit on the bland side yet still good and a huge portion. The juice was delicious. Normally, I love Chop Shop, fresh and perfectly cooked and huge portions and nicely presented. Not this one. I came in at 7:30pm (well before closing time) and walked out with my order by 7:40. I ordered a to-go of the Thai Chicken with a combo of sweet potato and forbidden rice. The portion is smaller than what I've had at other locations and looks like everything was just tossed in there. To taste, the chicken is sand dry and the rice is so undercooked that it's not edible. The veggies (carrots and broccoli) are also grossly undercooked and cold and rubbery. If I was eating there I would have asked for a new bowl but since I did to-go there's nothing I can do now. The guy taking my order was nice though and I gave them a tip when I purchased, but now I'm bummed I tipped because I can't eat my bowl. In the future I'll order to dine in and try again. read more

Okay so my main experience at ChopShop is at their original Scottsdale location so it's hard to review this on overall experience vs comparing it to other locations. Like, I feel this deserves a 3 star when compared to ChopShop in Old Town, but a 4 star when just thinking of it as a stand-alone place. The pros: - As far as the space, size, decor, and comfort, this is the best ChopShop location. It's really pretty and large. - Service was so friendly, better than Old Town because it's not close to as busy The cons: - The kale and quinoa salad I always get in Old Town didn't taste the same. The dressing that I go Gaga for was muted in flavor. It's weird cause I'd think they use the same recipe but it's hard to describe. Just not as good. Still good, it wasn't gross by any means and still good but the excitement and happiness I get from the salad I'm used to wasn't there. All in all though I recommend any chop shop location - even when they're not at their best the food is still great! But the food in Old Town is better. read more

This is nice little hipsterish place with a modern, industrial feel. My wife order a teriyaki bowl with extra veggies and I got a steak sandwich with the "Hydrator" drink. While I didn't really like the drink, it's probably my choice on that. But the food was great. No complaints whatsoever. And the food was prepared fast, like five minutes. Staff was nice. The only two downsides I would mention - and they're not really a big deal, so I'm not retracting stars for it- was the tea seemed a little stale and our table was dirty when we sat down. So far I have been on three occasions in the past two weeks and this establishment has left me satisfied every time. This is an establishment that serves great healthy options that aren't off putting as most restaurants that advertise to healthy. I do have to say this isn't a place where you should have the goal of excessive portions. Instead to experience a meal that isn't priced to served at a cost, but served to a standard...which in my opinion is great. It is priced at a premium and it is easy for an order to be priced between $15 to $25 dollars total. I do feel it's worth every penny. My inside informant has told me that they obtain fresh produce daily and I do see the employees cutting fresh to order. I tasted nothing that left me with buyers remorse, but instead making myself wonder what I'm gonna order next time. The interior dining area is very clean and free of clutter. Certainly visually inviting which does have a positive affect to your experience. 1st order was the Coconut That Chicken Bowl with Forbidden Rice and a Traditional Lemonade...delicious and with a nice presentation 2nd order was a Tuna Salad Sandwich and a Chocolate Mint Greek Yogurt Parfait with a Seasonal Lemonade. They made a simple sandwich feel feel much more than I would expect...and again nice presentation. 3rd order was a an American Chop and the PB & J Greek Yogurt Parfait. We found this place while looking for a healthier alternative. The Original Chop Shop reminded me of Panera but with more transparency inside the kitchen and better meal options. We at outside because we had our dog and were please to find out that the patio clearly stated it was dog friendly. I ordered the sweet steak bowl and was not disappointed. I tried out this location for the first time last week. I have visited their other locations here and there. This time I had breakfast. I think they had less staff in the morning than they usually do at lunch because it took some time, but I'm more understanding with the current circumstances of the labor shortages and supply chain issues. (Side note, be courteous to those that work in the restaurant industry right now, they are facing widespread issues across the nation). The cashier was kind and the employees had smiles on their faces as they were working. Even through the kitchen window I saw happy cooks. Definitely brightens up a place when the workers seem happy. As for the food- Probably the best Brekkie Wrap I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned, cooked, everything. The manager was out and about and taking care of the guests, hustling and bustling as fast as she could. I love the interior to this place. Each location looks a little different, but this one is one of my favorite looks. Smaller, but intimate and trendy. I was on my way to a meeting in Phoenix and it really was a convenient spot to get a bite to eat and a drink to continue my way down the freeway. Keep up the great work! read more

We were craving a salad after our run this morning and hopped on Yelp to see what was nearby and landed here. After being pleasantly greeted at the door and seeing great menu choices, very clean, fun and fresh environment we decided to order and eat-in. Our food came quickly even though there were several people clearly here for pickup orders (which is cool too!)
