We've been back here every year since my first review and it's still great! This time we had the turkey burger with apples and cran mayo, fries and the Rueben. The fries were the best I've had in a while the perfect crunch to them. The ambiance is welcoming and there are also great local syrups, jams, jellies and other nick nacks to purchase I have to remember to take a pic of the food next time we are usually too busy eating it

Great tiny general store! Tiny Pittsfield, VT has it all: beer, jam, wine, sandwiches, house-brewed coffee (self-serve by folks in plastic clogs). They offer chips, maps, postcards, candies, maple syrup, cured meats, cheeses, eggs by the dozen, hot cocoa, hamper items and potato salad, spices, water, soda and breakfast crullers, sandwiches. Staff wear shirts from other general stores.. Wood floors and full wine cellars. Rebel chef: 5

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but what a neat place on the inside. Just a place we decided to stop in at in our way through on our drive up RT100. Lots of take home souvenirs (shirts, local syrup, jelly's and other goods) and OMG the French toast here is OUT OF THIS WORLD! The bread was nice and soft, the syrup was not overly sweet and not too thick. Tastes amazing and fresh. My husband had the breakfast egg sandwich and he raved that it was delicious as well. Definitely recommend! Didn't expect to leave with syrup and socks but after eating this French toast I wanted to bring some of Vermont home with me.

"Original" is somewhat of a misnomer at this general store. This general store in Pittsfield is a modern, artisanal, and quaint place. It's a great market to pick up some crackers and beer or grab breakfast or lunch at the eatery. They carry an assortment of products like Vermont maple syrup, local products, beer and wine, puzzles, books, and hardware. There is a tap with AquaVita kombucha and Cold Brewtus coffee. The store has an assortment of chips, candy, salads, and snacks. There's a variety of food in the counter display, and it looks fresh. They have hot and cold sandwiches, pizza, burgers, and other items for lunch and a wide spread of breakfast items as well. The portions are a bit small for the prices, but it's reasonable for the quality that they serve. Food: 4 | Price: 3.5 | Atmosphere/Location: 4 Overall, I would return here and had a satisfying meal.

I was looking at an entire state so trying to whittle it down to a handful of options was tricky. I started with some specific things we wanted in a house, but then i decided to focus on local eat and drink options. And that's how I found Clear River Tavern. The word on line was that it was a great tavern, pretty good food, and extra like a disc golf mini course, live music and solid pool tables. After a week of living right up the road, walking distance(awesome), I can vouch for all those details. We got dinner or an appetizer at least 3 times; had drinks 3 or 4 times. The Sausage and pepper dog was pretty good, the pretzel bites were far better than they should have been, and I should add the service couldn't have been better. The guy bartender was all business, ina good way. Quick with a drink, and told me it was ok to bring my beer out back and play a couple holes of disc. The gal bartender was super sweet, and I watched her listen to some of the older locals talk about their day and she listened to every word. It's true, we picked our work remote location based on this Tavern, and it worked out so well.

Yes, they have a disc gold course right outside where you can bring you drinks and play They have bar seating, some inside tables and pool table, and outside seating too. The staff were quick, they have a full bar and a menu that can please anyone. The pretzel bites were great! Served warm, with the right amount of salt, and the cheese sauce was delicious. The sandwiches are big, and the chips they come with are so good! We also tried the chicken tenders, the batter they use is very well seasoned and the meat is tender - very flavorful. Very casual atmosphere with friendly people.

The staff is always friendly, helpful and great service, the restaurant is always clean, spacious and have table spaced apart unlike many other places with people on top of you... for those that drink they do have a bar in the middle area. One of these times we will need to order something outside of pizza! LOL I grew up making Italian food so, probably will do it soon! We ordered a large broccoli cheese pizza to go! IT is a true large unlike some places in Rutland. It was delicious, cooked to perfection, crisp bottom section of the crust melted cheese and not over cooked fresh broccoli. Of course, we will be back! It's a nice change to go to the mountain for a meal that you appreciate! Thank you Domenic!

The wings (bone-in & boneless) are worth ordering, although the bone-in were much better. They charged us extra for blue cheese dressing (?), and then they forgot to include it in the order, so that definitely took away from the wing experience (CHECK YOUR BAG). The thin crust pizza had a delicious light, flaky dough and the banana pepper/pepperoni toppings were plentiful, however the pizza was very light on sauce, so it ate dry. Salads were thrown together without love. Pass. Perfect for the kids after skiing. Prices were lower than similar restaurants in the area. The pizza also tasted delicious the next day cold on our way back to NY! Add one star.
