There's a lot of competition for pizza in this area of Moon/Coraopolis. We have ordered from Hometown a few times now. It is consistently good. Not too heavy with the cheese or too greasy. We like it enough. We order from here when we have company and plan to feed a large group or for family pizza night. It doesn't look like much from the outside - kind of a hole in the wall. There are tables inside but anytime I've picked up it's usually empty inside. Will likely order again. read more

What a great pizza shop we ordered a pepperoni pie, as we always do when trying new places. Delicious! A bit sweet, with some interesting spice to it. Good crispy crust and flavorful cheese stands out. We enjoyed some bubly from the array of cooler drinks, and they have a Pepsi fountain as well. Super fun welcoming staff personally! read more

Simple and delicious pizza. Plenty of great ingredients for the build your own, and a few decent pre-built options. They do not skimp on toppings so you really feel like you're getting your money's worth. I would have liked to see more specialty pizzas, but that's also likely to complicate their business and add to costs. The prices are reasonable and the quality is solid. Dining in doesn't offer much in terms of decor. Simple tables and chairs, plain walls. No alcohol which is a bummer. Expanding into a liquor license might be worthwhile, especially if there's a local brewery they can partner with to keep their costs low. Right off the top...you can't get a beer here. There's nothing cute, cozy, or trendy about this place. Looks like it used to be a gas station or old time fast food joint. It's a local pizza joint. The guy who runs the place is really proud of his food, and he should be. He makes as much of the menu from scratch as possible, and it shows. The quality of the food and the friendly service drags the overall experience up to a three for me. If you're in one of the airport hotels, this is a decent selection to take back to your room. But it's not a place for a nice sit-down dinner and drinks. read more

Solid local choice. Could be great but fell short in many respects. The pizza was respectable, though everything was skimpy. The toppings were sparse at best. It was hard for me to get a read on the sauce. May have been a little thin also. I didn't like the thin crust we chose. I'd probably try the hand toss next time just to compare. The building and parking were all OK but nothing to write home about. The people are helpful and friendly. The menu prices on yelp must've been very old, so I got a little surprise to check out. WOW! This was some of the BEST pizza I've had in a long time!! On the day I went, a weekday for lunch, it was literally a one-man-show, I think it was the owner running everything from taking orders, answering the phones, etc to making the pizzas. He didn't seem to miss a beat though... He was cool, calm, and collected! They have all the typical toppings on an amazing NY style, perfect pizza! I opted for pepperoni and jalapeños and it was prepared PERFECTLY!!! The crust had that snap the fold you do to pick it up. The ability for the base/floor of the crust to hold the toppings without falling over and all the toppings falling off was EXCELLENT!!! The flavor was INCREDIBLE!!! I highly recommend this joint, whether you're eating in (there's not much to their dining room tho) or getting it to go... The Best Pizza is HERE!! read more

People were nice, but I thought the food was very average. I got a pizza and their version of a hoagie. Again, not that it was bad, but the pizza was meh and the sandwich was VERY oily. I didn't finish either. Considering the total cost was $38 I didn't think it was worth it. Sorry. read more

First time caller, last time caller! Today 11:45 am 3.24.24 New to the area and wanted to find a good pizza place. The call went exactly like this... " Hometown pizza, what can I get you?" Me, "Can I order a pizza to pickup?" Employee, " I said, what can I get you!?"... he said in a nasty, condescending voice. I said... "I am good thanks" and I hung up. I guess business is so good they do not need or want a new customer. Oh well, there are others. I ordered some wings and a meatball sandwich for me and my wife and arrived early. I didn't have to wait long, as the service was excellent! Chatted with the owner, and had a great conversation about mutual interests while I waited! Got the food home. The Meatball hoagie with the rosemary bread was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! My wife loved the wings! The Ambiance of the place feels like on of those amazing startups that took over a failing business, but will one day soon become a pillar of the community! My Husband and I got the cheesy bread and an order of the garlic butter wings. The cheesy bread had a crisp crust with plenty of gooey cheese. The wings were cooked to perfection and tasted great. Everything was well priced too. 5/5! We will definitely be coming back for more! read more

Some of the best takeout pizza I've had around here in a long time. A lot of pizza places give you a pie that feels like you're eating a loaf of bread. The dough here was great and the toppings were generous. I spent a few minutes chatting when I picked it up and learned they make all their own dough and bread for sandwiches as well. We have only lived in the area for a few months, and every week we try pizza somewhere new. This is the tops of our list! Most places are just okay, nothing special. But Hometown Pizza is special. We personally love thin crust pizza and this fits the bill. Very, very thin. The dough, sauce and cheese works well with each other to make a tasty meal. My husband got a pepperoni pizza and loved every bite. I am just a plain cheese girl and this was fantastic. My wife and I differed on our opinions of this place. My wife thought it was awesome, while I thought it was just okay. My understanding is that this pizza shop it under new ownership (it used to be a place called Bruno's Pizza, or something like that). We ordered the "carnivore", which is basically a meat-lovers type pizza. We took it back to our hotel room to eat. We didn't see anyone eating in the store. But there was quite a bit of takeout traffic. It was challenging to pick up the slices of pizza because the bottom crust was soft. But the end crust was crispy and delicious. The toppings were very fresh and tasted pretty good. And the sauce was tasty and was the proper amount (not too much and not too little). The sauce was not a "sweet" sauce. I would say it was more of a "traditional" sauce. Hopefully the new owners do well. They have a pretty good product. read more
