I remember when Original Joe's first opened. I had just moved to Calgary and was working with one of the Franworks partners. They had one restaurant at the time. It's been awesome watching them grow and expand across Western Canada. My one dislike about Original Joe's is that they do not allow kids. Ever. Unfortunately they lose business over this (and not just mine) as my family will go to the pubs for dinner that do allow kids until 8 or 9pm. In this economy it is a bad business choice IMO. But moving on. A new OJ's has opened not far from where we live. So hubs and I had an hour w/out kids one Saturday afternoon and decided to pop in. The decor is gorgeous. Franworks has their own contractor for their restaurants and I must say they do amazing work. There were a handful of people in the restaurant so we were able to pick the table we wanted. We sat next to the large floor to ceiling window that almost over looks the Deerfoot and you can even see Nose Hill Park in the distance (less than a 10 minute drive). Service was friendly and quick. We weren't overly hungry so ordered a couple of the on tap beers along with our wings and parmesan chips. There were tv screens playing different sports games for those who were interested. It's not a huge space but a cute one for sure. And note it is upstairs above Smashburger. Like the location, everything was spot on, we will return.

Turkey wrap w fries & salad.

Dinner was okay on a busy Friday night. I had turkey wrap w fries & a salad. The wrap tasted bland & it was cold (as in part of the wrap had been sitting next to an ice cube). Salad was ok - lettuce was kind of wilty but feta & crisp apple were delicious. Friends all enjoyed their dishes so I guess mine was the odd dinner. It wasn't bad - just tasteless. Wine special? I don't know but 5oz of house white was only $4.50....and it was good. Excellent service for this table of 7 gals. Great atmosphere w plenty of TVs & good music (not too loud).

OJ's, what's happened to you? I used to love you, depend on you, crave you. Now look at ya. So disappointed in how you've grown up. I'm taking out my frustrations on the chain restaurant as a whole based on my experience at this newish location. My friend and I got there just in time for happy hour - whoo hoo! We quickly ordered glasses of white wine and each ordered a $4 fish taco of the HH menu. The wine was great - a nice crisp refreshing house wine. The "fish" tacos, however, BOO. We couldn't even identify if it was fish. I think they scraped the bottom of the pan to give us the leavings. And the rest of the taco had no flavor. We told the waiter what we thought, and in fairness to the restaurant they comped our tacos. Hence the second star they are receiving. We then ordered the dragon boat lettuce wraps and sweet potato fries instead. We didn't eat much of the wraps - waaaay too much hoisin sauce and very little chicken. But the flavor was ok and there were a decent amount of veggies in there, so a C+ rating. The sweet potato fries were good but I think their pepper shaker lid came off when they were seasoning them - most of the fries were almost completely covered in black powder, which was a bit disappointing. Our server was very busy but still very good. The space is weird - tons of stairs to get in the door and you feel like you've entered an apartment building, and the restaurant is quite small. I'd like to give this place 2.5 stars, so I waffled between 2 and 3 but to be honest I won't go back so it's gettin' a 2 from me. sorry.

Came here on Saturday lunchtime before heading over to the Rec room. There was ample parking and entrance on thru the north lobby on the 2nd floor. This place is brand new since they redid deerfoot mall to deerfoot city. The restaurant looks really nice and our server who was also the bartender was super friendly and service was excellent. He told us about the drink specials and I decided on the Cesar which was on for $5. The Cesar will super tasty and one of the best I have ever drank. The brunch menu was on Saturday, Sundays until 3pm so I decided to get the Eggs Benedict. It has shaved ham with medium poached eggs with generous Hollandaise sauce with a fruit skewer and smashed potatoes. The potatoes with fried nicely and the whole meal was good. I would definitely come back for another meal.

This was our first time at this restaurant. Our MIL had been to one of these places in another town. We had several items from the menu. We tried the daily soup, fish and chips, and lettuce wraps. I was trying to be healthy and tried the lettuce wrap with Chicken. I will try it again and look for a recipe to try at home. It was too loud to visit and the fish and chips batter was over cooked too crispy.

Pacific noodle out with chicken and chilli.

Pacific noodle soup. Usual with chicken, shrimp and chilli sauce rice noodles. I'm allergic to shrimp, so they make it without, which makes for a lot of broth. And not much chicken. Makes a good partner with the Wraspberry ale but meets more protein.

Made a reservation for new years. Was seated for 25 minutes without seeing a server. Ended up leaving to go elsewhere for food.

Kitchen staff seemed very unprofessional. I witnessed a few of them playing on their cell phones, then handle food. Grossed me out!

The bruschetta is love at first bite, my nacho salad was great. Ample parking lot spots, multiple screens for game watching, and there's a full row of VLT's (slot machines) inside. One of two pub options open late in the area, I choose this over the rowdy college kid one any day. Excited to explore more of their menu now.

Ouch. Although this…read moreplace is a tad pricey for the closest "neighborhood bar", typically the pizza (the only item worth re ordering) is a go to. Yesterday (Thursday) was pizza special night. My husband ordered French onion soup to start and his own pizza and I ordered a pizza as well, I also asked for it to be VERY well done. Why? Because typically vegetarian pizzas are soggy with all the veg goodness. AND it's usually perfect when you ask for it this way. Our pizzas come out. I instantly saw mine was NOT well done (the cheese wasn't even brown/crispy. My husbands looked fine. I took closer look at mine and noticed that the dough was also raw. Server came to checkin, i showed her a the raw dough, she profusely apologized and sent it back. It came out again, looking the same way and it felt like it just sat under the heat lamp. Cheese was the same way, everything...including the raw dough. The manager was making his rounds and ended up two booths ahead of us and we could hear him apologizing..lucky me, he came to our booth. I explained the pizza was already sent back once and it came back with the same issue and showed him the problem. I got an "ooook" from the manager. .....and then I said "I'd like this off the bill and taken back please." Without hesitation another "ook" came from him and the pizza was whisked away. Nothing else was exchanged. He could see my husband had a pizza and soup, we had beers... and he offered nothing. Zero. Not only that, no apology. Just ooooook and walked away lol The server came back, we asked for the bill and pizza box. She apologized again and asked if I'd like anything at all. I was over it, and just wanted to leave. I declined and thanked her. She again offered dessert to go. I declined and she apologized again- to which is no fault of her own but I appreciated it. I was super appalled by the managers reaction and zero effort to make our experience better. Both my husband and I come from previous YEARS in the service industry and we were both left speechless by the interaction with him. We've been to Madison's a handful of times and over the years have primarily ordered pizza to go and have never had this kind of issue. Disappointing. We'll spend our money elsewhere.

Who would have thought that a pub has over 100 different flavours of wings! From mild to extremely hot that you have to sign a waver before eating!! This establishment is not that big inside. Very rustic looking inside, more of a western feel with odd things scattered around. Like a Manikin in a corner, a machine that had a wizard inside that looked like the one in the movie BIG with Tom Hanks. Which looked very cool. As soon as we sat the server gave us menus and told us about special drinks and wings. Had a wonderful time even though it started to get very busy. After looking over the menu, we ordered Beer, Cesars, Wine for drinks and food was dill pickle wings, Applewood BBQ wings, Mango Chilli wings, Fry's and gravy. Must say everything was very delicious!! - located in a mini mall in a residential area - parking lot is very small shared with other businesses. We will definitely be returning!

I hope, fingers crossed, they are just finding their footing right now and are interested in improving their already characteristic business which could be on it's way up after 5 months of being open. (July 20, 2020). I KNOW you guys got this and I believe you have a gold mine on your hands, if you so choose. In the beginning... We had never heard of Wild Card until I happened to pop on the City of Airdrie's website looking at 'new businesses'. 'Wild Card Shack' struck me as a place we should know and like, so I Googled it. Website- Half built, only the menu available, no business hours, no promo's advertised. Facebook- Decent information available, no promo's, no business hours. Google- Leads to incomplete website, hours displayed wrong. Restaurant/ Pub- lots of unadvertised specials displayed, decent menu, hours displayed wrong (out front). Come on guys! Consistency among all your platforms please. 101! Where is your PR? It was a quiet Sunday at 12:30pm that we popped in for lunch. Service started well with our Server wearing a lower, plastic face mask. One table of 2 was already seated before us and another table of 2 came in about 30 min after us. Total= 3 tables (6 people). Drinks, great. Time to place order, decent. Wait to receive our order? Fifty five (55) minutes. I totally get the wait if the kitchen is busy, but this was not the case. The table behind us (who were there before we arrived) had to ask where their food was. Our Server had ditched her mask well before she delivered our food and didn't wear one for the rest of our visit. Lucky we didn't walk out in this day and age of CoVid. Food was both a blessing and a curse. The steak was done beautifully, the Monster burger, cooked to a perfect 'medium' (not sure if this was the cooks intention, some Canadians would have called the burger 'rare or underdone' and sent it back, but not us!) and the burger was dripping with bbq sauce (each patty seemed to be dipped in sauce). After 2 bites Hubs had to take a knife and fork to it. Not complaining about the size, it was just sloppily put together, without care. The fries, raw and flaccid. Sent back one order (I wasn't going to bother sending mine back even though I should have) and the second order came out the exact same way. We didn't eat any of the 3 orders of fries. Our Server gave us a 'staff discount' off the burger which was $2.85. SMH. Also, why are you serving chicken gravy with the steak sandwich or the aforementioned beef burger? Tons of character, great music, friendly-ish staff, tons of specials (can't really keep track) and the bathrooms were NOT pretty. Looking forward to when you get more established. With a little attention to detail you WILL be the best burger in the city. We will be back another time soon and hopefully with an updated review. It's 5:00 somewhere!
