Ordered breakfast thru Yelp and it was delivered by grub hub. We had the bacon and eggs with pancakes. Now I love some pancakes and these were smaller sized. Still good, but I wasn't pleased with the amount of syrup they provided. We got one little container of syrup for 3 pancakes. WTH were we supposed to do with that. Funny enough they gave us 3 containers of butter. I really wish they reversed that. The bacon was prepared hard like we like and eggs were delicious. Clean and spacious environment with lots of natural light! Came in on a Tuesday morning so it was understandably empty. Got the Dutch treat which is basically a Dutch baby with strawberries and bananas on top. Make sure to allot an extra 15-20min for the preparation of the Dutch babies. Food was good, basic breakfast staples, and big portion sizes (had enough for another breakfast the next day). The table ordered different style pancakes, Eggs Benedict, omelette and the corn beef hash. Our server was nice, checking in on us as needed and even gave my nieces little bowls of extra whipped cream for their bear pancakes. Server greeted us promptly with water, we were very hungry so ordered pretty quickly. Our food came out hot, lots of different things. Server forgot us a few times which was unfortunate, however when she did help us she was very quick and attentive. It happens, busy Sunday morning and prime time is about to hit. I was very hesitant to try this place out. Every time I saw pictures on yelp the food didn't look appealing at all in my opinion. My current favorite breakfast is the meat lovers skillet which I love at other breakfast spot. My boyfriend finally convinced me to try this place out. Of course I had to try their meat lovers skillet. I must say I loved the breakfast potatoes!! They had a lot of favor and were nice and soft. Wasn't too thrilled about the meats tho. First time at this new replacement, filling the void left behind by Panera and the Edge in Lincoln park/Lakeview. The decor is a modern take on a typical diner with white tile and yellow/ gray accents, with large Instagram - worthy photos on the wall. Albeit clean and organized, the decorations don't make much sense to me. Moving on... We ordered a Michael Benedict (mushroom sherry sauce over sausage and eggs, with latkes/apple sauce/ sour cream) and a southwest skillet (chorizo and egg over hash potatoes with salsa and pancakes) Food was fantastic. The southwest skillet had a nice kick to it, keeping us coming back for more. The Benedict was creamy and rich and left you feeling satisfied the way only comfort food can. My only real gripes with the place? The pancake plate was awful small and caused some syrup spillage, the Benedict's biscuit was hard and tough to cut and the latkes were a bit soggy. This is a new Original Pancake house that relocated from the location across from Lincoln Park. The food is still awesome, and one of my favorite servers, Heather still works there. I think most of the staff from the old location moved here. The service was always great at the old location and I anticipate the same here. The dining room is completely new. It is bright and airy with big Windows. It's much more pleasant than the old location. A real plus is that it now opens at 6:30 a.m every day. read more

I really enjoyed Original Pancake House for a weekend brunch. The atmosphere is light and airy, the servers are friendly and the food comes out quickly. I ordered the chicken sausage skillet with the chocolate chip pancakes. I normally find skillets to be overwhelming but this skillet was the perfect size. I ordered mind with egg whites which were a great compliment to the chicken sausage. I absolutely LOVED the chocolate chip pancakes. They melted in my mouth. Very very tasty pancakes. The whipped cream came on the side. They were also a good size, not too big or small. I got the skillet. For some reason on your site, the skillets aren't listed and for some reason I can't remember what it's called. Maybe the Mexicana or the Southwestern?? I'm going to go with Southwestern bc I swear the Mexicana is from Wildberry's... Southwestern skillet is pretty good. Sometimes it lacks flavor and sometimes it's out of this world. The consistency of the dishes really needs to be worked on. Last time I was here, I subbed out the chorizo for sausage links just to try it.. and I regretted it. The links are so bland, and it seems like they're microwaved. No crisp or color to them. Do yourself a favor and get the skillet how it comes. It's bomb like that if they make it right. 3.5/5 Strawberry pancakes - so yummy, but so sweet! You can sub out regular pancakes with specialty ones for a $1-2 upcharge. My boyfriend is obsessed with the chocolate pancakes, but I stick to regular bc the other kinds are too sweet for me. Still good, though, if you're into it. 4/5 Omelettes are always huge and stuffed full of ingredients. I say if you want mostly an egg dish, go for it! You can even build your own. You choose up to 4 ingredients then it's a $1 more for each additional one. The stuffed strawberry french toast is really, really good. They're kind of expensive for what they actually are, though, and it doesn't come with any sides. I ended up paying over $16 for the french toast, a side of bland potatoes, and three slices of bacon. Rip off! 4/5 The bacon on the side is standard, which isn't bad, it's pretty good. 4/5 Potatoes are bland af! They can use a lot more seasoning to them. I made the mistake of getting them on the side once and regretted it. I had to put sooo much salt, pepper, ketchup and eventually hot sauce on them! 2/5 The service here is so-so. He went above and beyond to make sure our experience who comfortable and Memorable. The server Jennifer over the top with courteousness and excellent customer service.
