Seriously good pineapple buns and fresh pastries, and very authentic. This place has some awesome baked goods, and it reminds me of my favorite Chinatown dim sum spot, Won Kok in the best way :) We found the place while walking around in Chinatown and are super glad we did. We noticed that they had some great lunch special options too, but we'd already eaten. Next time! Run, don't walk to come try the pineapple buns!

You know this is the spot when aunties and uncles are posted here early in the morning when the shop opens! Who could blame them when the bakery is filled with buns, a great lunch menu, and a community to thrive in! I came here on a Friday morning around 9AM and the bakery was filled with fresh smelling baos. Tables were already full, but there was plenty of seating available. My eyes were everywhere especially on the assortment of cakes, pastries, and baos. I'm from Boston and the prices at Saint Anna Bakery are a hair more affordable and the baos are quite larger than the buns back at home. The winning item was the mini pineapple buns at $0.60! If I could, I would've brought a dozen home. I would definitely come back and get their lunch special and try their baked porkchop rice.

Only a few of these left in Chinatown. Simple no frills mom & pop shop. Loving their Chinese breakfast option and so does my toddler. Also something that doesn't break your wallet either. Some Chinese bakeries and simple classic homemade Chinese meal. Honestly love stopping here in the am. Don't sleep on their egg tart either! Its unique shape is what makes it stand out from the rest of the other spots and doesn't dismiss on flavor either. The waiter is super sweet and tends to your needs. Def love coming here and will always be supporting small family businesses.

Stopped in here because this chinese bakery looked legit. And it definitely was, with the first clue being the little boy who helped us at the counter. He had sass and it was fantastic. We sat down to sample the things we got and the egg tart was sooo creamy and smooth. And meanwhile the boy's dad was trying to sit him doen to do homework or something and he started getting real mad saying "but i want to WORK". Haha so cute

Great to see that they've brought sit down dining back to Saint Anna's. Got some shrimp cheung fun (same price as the others, so the shrimp is just so-so) - I'd say go for a different kind. Good ice milk tea and added some pastries to have at the table too. Got a loaf of almond milk bread to take home. Take note of their breakfast menu before noon!

We always stop by Saint Anna to get the more traditional Chinese bakery items and pastries. We especially like the sesame balls and the bbq pork buns. Service is quick and we are usually out within a few minutes.

We had the pork buns, custard bun and the coconut bun. I think they are cheaper than those from that famous bakery in Chinatown (let's call it CQ) but the goodies are not better than those from CQ. The bread for the custard bun and coconut bun was tough and kinda burnt on the bottom. Custard filling wasn't as generous. Service was quick. Ambience was okay too. The place looked clean and tidy. All in all, for the price, I would say the bread is pretty good.

One of my favorite bakery in Chicago. This one is located in chinatown. They take cash only, so remember to stop by the atm machine. Small restaurant but they have tables and chairs to dine in, they also offer full menu of Chinese food. I've only eaten the pastries they offer, they're the cheapest price around town.

Saint Ana Bakery and Café in Chinatown in Chicago had a wide variety of different authentic Asian sweet treats. I was served quickly and efficiently even though the area was packed with tourists. The decor in the restaurant was adequate, with several tables and chairs fighting for customers to sit at to enjoy the sweet treats purchased there.

Solid bakery to try out if you are walking around New Chinatown Square. It's on the first floor and pretty easy to find. Nice selection of items, favorites are definitely the sponge cake. There also are meats and more lunch/dinner type of dishes if you are looking for more of a meal. We also got BBQ buns, custard. Definitely old school in that they accept only cash. Great in that it's another place that my husband can use his Cantonese language skills. The items are fairly priced, they provide quick service, no complaints!

It might be cash only. But I promise it's worth it. The buns are good, but they're not my favorite. We come here for the chicken pot pie and curry turnover! Not every bakery makes it--most only do dessert cakes and buns. The aunties working here are really nice...especially if you speak Cantonese. My husband has come at times forgetting cash and he empties his pockets and asks what he can get--they treat him like their own kid with a little bit of exasperation but are gracious enough to let him have one more treat than what he has money for. There's got to be a special place in heaven for the Saint Anna aunties. There are a few tables to sit at and eat if you wanted to stay, but most people seem to order and go. It's not going to win any points for being IG-worthy, but who cares because this place is OG Chinatown with 10/10 food. Bonus: we got a sheet cake from here to serve at our wedding (the chestnut is so good). What we get: Chicken pot pie (gai pie) - try this!!! The crust is so buttery and crumbly and flaky in the best way. And the filling is so tasty. We could literally come and just buy out the case if we ever remembered to bring enough cash. Curry turnover - try this too! Who doesn't love a turnover?! And make it savory? Yes, please. The curry isn't really spicy--both our kids loved it. Just get it. You'll probably want more. Milk tea - I'm a little particular...this tea wasn't strong enough for my taste. But it wasn't bad. I just prefer stronger tea to milk ratio.

    $21.75 for this

Called in for a pick up went picked up and i was in shock when lady said it was $21.75 never again

French Toast - 2 slices of bread with Peanut Butter in between then doused in Egg batter.

My parents & I wanted afternoon tea. My mom has always loved their shrimp rice roll with their sauces. I, on the other hand, prefer my sauces in moderation. Dad ordered the tart, but because we split our rice rolls with him, he didn't have any more room for the tart. With this late summer heat in upper 90's, they could have turned up the air conditioning. It was a bit too stuffy for us. This would be a fine star rating. Service was quick & efficient, as always.

MingHin was packed, loud, and a little chaotic. Worth it. Dim sum is an experience as much as a meal and MingHin delivers on both fronts. We ordered more than we could keep track of. Soup dumplings that immediately became the kids' personal obsession. Shu mai that hit every time. BBQ pork buns in every form they offered because obviously. Chinese broccoli to balance out the indulgence. Everything was solid, fresh, and exactly what you want from a dim sum spread. The room was packed and buzzing but the service kept up impressively. Servers were constantly circling, clearing empty plates and dishes without missing a beat. Clean and attentive even at full capacity, which is no small thing. Fair warning if you are bringing little ones: this environment is a lot. The noise, the crowd, the overwhelming parade of food arriving at the table. Our kids loved what they ate but the sensory experience was a bit much for them. This is a place better suited for a group of adventurous adults or older kids who thrive in high energy environments. Prices are great for the quality and quantity of food you get. A Chinatown institution for good reason. Just know what you are walking into and embrace it fully.

If you're not familiar with the menu, it can be a little challenging to know what to order, but the staff is usually helpful with recommendations. Some of my favorites are the dumplings, various rice dishes, chicken, lemongrass dishes, Mongolian beef, and other traditional offerings. This is a fantastic place for larger groups, and they're very accommodating when it comes to splitting checks. The food comes out quickly, the atmosphere is lively, and there's plenty of variety for everyone. If you're in the area near Joy Yee, MingHin is definitely worth a visit!

Be prepared to wait a little bit for a table, or share a big one with another party at peak times. Prices are reasonable and portions are pretty generous. ===== Kind of lost count of how many times I've been. Love getting the dim sum and noodle dishes here. Some favorites: beef cheong fun with egg, siu mai, Singapore noodle, xo rice noodle rolls, spare ribs, pork and century egg congee. All the food has been very solid. Inside is always bustling and can be a bit crowded. Service is pretty friendly as far as Chinatown goes, and very efficient. There's a guy who works there who I think is the manager or something, because he puts in 200x effort and is always hustling. When he's not around it feels like something is missing. Prices are very reasonable and we like ordering a lot here so that we have tasty leftovers for later. This place has quite a few big tables and is good for large groups. My only nits are that very occasionally a dish or teacup will have a dirty spot, and that the bubble tea here is kind of meh. I don't remember exactly which one I ordered, but it was a little watery and lacking in flavor. It's also probably tough since they're boxed in by boba places now. Pro tip: When you first get your table, they'll ask you what kind of tea you want. If you ignore them or don't know how to answer, the default is green tea. Another one is to come at off-peak times. Not only will you get a table faster, but I think they tweak their portion sizes depending on how crowded it is. Definitely will be back! And I recommend you visit too

Communication was a challenge since very little English was spoken, and the descriptions of the dishes were lacking. I don't enjoy gambling on menu titles that sound good but end up being something completely different from what you expect. Some of the more familiar dishes were solid. The Kung Pao Chicken and Mongolian Beef were both pretty good and tasted like what you'd expect from most Chinese restaurants. Other dishes were much harder to understand, even after asking questions about how they were prepared or whether they were sweet or savory. We ordered the Sauteed Chicken in Hot Spicy Sauce Rice, which turned out to be very heavy on Sichuan peppercorns with a strong floral aftertaste. The chicken sat on a bed of what looked and tasted like deep-fried kale, and despite the word "rice" in the name, there was no rice in the dish at all. That's one item we won't be ordering again. We also tried the Fish Filet with Hot and Sour Lime Sauce. It was basically a sweet-and-sour style fish dish. It wasn't bad, but it leaned much sweeter than expected. Another thing to note: none of the dishes come with white rice--it's completely à la carte. We only found that out after ordering. With prices being what they are these days, it would be nice if they included at least some white rice like most Chinese restaurants do. Overall, the food wasn't terrible, but the lack of clear descriptions and communication made the experience frustrating. I prefer restaurants where expectations are clear rather than discovering surprises after the food arrives.
