Matcha Latte and Salted Caramel Latte
    Lauren M.

This little tea house is super cute! We ordered the matcha and salted caramel latte. I gave 4 stars because the matcha was so sweet that it was really hard to drink. We ordered the Mexican bagel and turkey pesto sandwich and both were phenomenal!

The customer service was the best! Very attentive and they got the order right!! It's a beautiful authentic place with lots of art. The food was tasty and presented well.

Food was pretty good, drinks were on the sweet side (I loved but my friend did not so really up to your preference). I got the Nutella crepe and it was great with the vanilla ice cream. The panini was also great. The art inside and outside the building is incredible.

Horchata coffee was way too sweet in my opinion, crepe was great though the nuts added a very nice touch! Service was great, workers were nice and overall good quality. The coffee shop was cute and good looking authentic mexican decorations were a beautiful addition.

La malinche is one of my favorite coffee shops in pilsen. Their drinks are wonderful and on top of that, they have my favorite cafe de olla. The decor is very warm and the staff is always super nice to me whenever i go. Haven't tried their food items yet but their chilaquiles smell amazing every time.

Sara is a delightful host who cheerfully explained the menu's many offerings. The bagels were fresh, cheese danishes tasty, & Cafe de Olle (Olla?) beyond compare! I highly recommend La Malinche for its warm environment, delish foods, reasonable prices, and tasty coffees. It is a refreshing change from cookie-cutter coffee shops and corporate environments. It is easy to reach on CTA #8 and there is a Divvy stand directly in front. Thank you, La Malinche! :-) Sincerely, Patrick Shaughnessy Chicago, IL

This is a great spot to work or study while enjoying coffee and food. I noticed they have a printer available, which is super convenient--especially when you need to print something out real quick. The decor inside is really cool and creates a nice atmosphere. I ordered the cajeta latte and it was great! I'll definitely be coming back to try the food sometime.

I decided to try something new today... I'm a big fan of Cafe de Olle, and I saw they had this on their menu, so I decided to stop in. The place is super cute and colorful. Although it's tiny, they have some good seating options. I love finding a comfortable table near a window so I can people watch and if it's raining, that's a bonus! They had upbeat music playing.. a little too loud for my taste. And the coffee shop was full, which is always a good sign! You order your food and drink at the counter and you are given a number and allowed to seat yourself. When your order is ready they bring it to your table. I noticed that people sitting next to me were drinking coffee out of very ornate coffee mugs and those are the small details that I really love about coffee shops. However, when I received my coffee, it was in a to-go cup even though they knew I was dining in. I noticed that when they brought coffee out to another group, they were in the coffee mugs as well. Not sure what that was about, but I was disappointed that I didn't get the aesthetically pleasing coffee mug. I was disappointed with the Cafe de Olle. I understand that people make them differently, but it was very cinnamon forward, which is not my preference. I also ordered the Chillequilles. Very disappointing. I also know that this is made many different ways. Initially I said I didn't want egg and avocado which were an additional cost but when I got it it was literally tortilla chips sauce and cheese. There were also a few slices of red onion. I ended up going back to the counter and ordering some avocado to add to it, but very disappointed. If I go back to this place, it will only be for the cozy seating if I'm able to snag one of the window seats. I may even order a coffee but keep it simple. A little disappointing.

Went here for brunch with coworkers and we loved the food! Also in love with how vibrant the interior was. Especially the art on the walls! Service was friendly and my friends loved the Turkey Pesto panini so much that they ordered two more to go!

I had a breakfast bagel and iced vanilla latte and it was delicious! The place itself is so cute and aesthetic. The service was good; took a little long to take our order and to get our food but there were only two people working at that time so it was understandable.

A festive, neighborhood coffee shop. The horchata latte was really potent in the horchata flavor. I would highly recommend! The creamy and spicy in the horchata was not lost in the coffee drink. The service was superb. Very friendly. They took time and care to prepare the drinks and are meticulous in making sure you're taken care of. We ordered three drinks - two were for friends and the gentleman cut up a four drink cup holder to hold the two drinks. Ambiance was colorful and festive whilst clean.

I love discovering new coffee shops and La Malinche in Pilsen did not disappoint. I found out about it through TikTok and ventured out from the suburbs a few days later. The inside is quite cozy and has a good amount of seating. I personally loved the deep pink and navy blue walls, as well as the gold fireplace. The people working at the counter were very friendly and helpful. I ordered a large iced matcha green tea latte and it surpassed my expectations. It had the perfect balance of matcha to sweetener. I found myself enjoying it even more after every sip. I also appreciated that they have non dairy alternatives so that I was able to have my drink made with oat milk. La Malinche is a hidden gem in the Pilsen neighborhood. I can definitely see myself ordering a drink and getting some work done there. Their food items looked quite tasty as well. I will definitely need to try them out next time!

We originally swung by on a Friday night, but it was far too loud and bustling. Given the nice 1940s or 50s decor, adding some acoustic art panels would make a huge difference in cutting down the noise. Every time we passed by afterward, it always looked packed. However, we finally got a chance to experience it properly last night, and it did not disappoint. The smoke tomato pizetta, nuts and olives, daiquiri, cafe martino, and service were all fantastic!

I found that it was worth exploring the whole building rather than just grabbing a drink and leaving. One of the coolest details is the curved elevator. There's also a rooftop deck, though it was closed for renovations during our visit. We tried the espresso martini flight, and all the flavors were tasty. Just a heads up that the drinks themselves are not very large, so go in expecting more of a tasting experience than a full-sized cocktail. This is a major tourist destination, so lines can be long and seats can be hard to come by, especially on weekends. Worth the visit, but plan accordingly if you want to avoid the biggest crowds.

Very interesting with the very futuristic decor, the 4 very different levels and the spaciousness. We spent an hour there because after looking at everything, we had to have a Starbucks coffee and a small dessert and relax. The wonderful smells get to you and you can't leave. The 1st floor offers a quick coffee and bite to go plus merchandise. The 2nd foor offers a cafe & bakery with goodies freshly made in their open kitchen. You can get sandwiches, pastries, breakfast, snaks, coffee , tea. That's were we stopped to eat. The 3rd floor offers different coffee creation to deepen your knowledge about coffee. The 4th floor offers coffee-inspired cocktails, beer, wine and sweet bites. We were there in June on a weekday and there was a long line out the door and a half a block back but it does move quickly. Inside it is packed with people but it was pretty orderly. We went to all 4 floors by escalator. There are lines for the restrooms also, as you can imagine. Some people were impatient and it was awkward being around them. I don't care much for huge crowds but sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. The Reserve is an experience that you want to have. We enjoyed it. You can buy delicious pastries and great souvenirs there. Their decor was unlike any of their regular stores. A must see. Bring money, lol.

It is a vibrant, modern cafe staple known for its standout bakery items like their Strawberry Cream Croissants (that looked incredibly decadent), artisanal coffee drinks, and reliable breakfast sandwiches. They do have some gluten-free baked options like the pistachio muffin my wife enjoyed. Also, they have non-bread breakfast and lunch options if you are gluten-sensitive or celiac. The place is popular, based on the queue that went out the door when we went there over the past weekend. Due to its proximity to major downtown attractions like the Art Institute and office buildings, long lines will happen during morning work rushes and weekend peak hours. But it's worth the wait. For my money, the chocolate croissant, stuffed with rich chocolate mousse, is class, and will ensure you won't go hungry. At all. In fact, I had half of it in a Ziploc for two days, and it still tasted amazing. The chocolate mousse alone will give you a rush that will send you blasting into outer space. Their morning sandwich was pretty good with scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon, avocado, and tomatillo sauce on toasted semolina. Although, admittedly, I was full from also indulging on the croissant, so I had leftovers. Their coffee drinks are also divine. I went with their Vietnamese cold brew, made with condensed milk that I enjoyed immensely. If I worked in the area, I would be coming here quite a bit.
