I love love love Tommy's, but they'd be better if they had a pickup window, or some sort of a system, for mobile orders. I've grown tired of standing in long lines only to see impatient people cut the line to get their mobile orders. Today I waited quite some time to get my mobile order, past my pickup time, and someone walked right up in front of everyone to get his order. Myself and the man in front of me had been waiting to pick up our orders. I do have to say that the young lady that works cashier is absolutely delightful. She greets with a smile and cares about customers. Just a tip: if you do mobile order and you order more than one of the same item, make sure you check your order before you leave. They've left out an order of fries a couple of times because I ordered two of them. However, the next time I went and noticed that they, again, left out an order of fries, the gal threw in an extra order as a sorry, which she did not have to do. My go to order is a California cheeseburger protein style, but this last time they left off the 1,000 island and the burger didn't taste all that great. If you plan on coming for lunch, make sure you either mobile order for pickup or get there with enough time to wait in line to order and for them to make your food. The lines do get long. There is a limited amount of street parking in front and there's a small lot in the rear and there is patio seating if you want to eat there. The food here is great though. read more

Did you know you can get a quarter pounder at Tommy's? I didn't and I have been eating Tommy burgers for longer than most of you have been alive. Maybe this upgraded burger is only available at this location (and it is off the menu, of course). Or maybe the counter man who suggested it thought I needed something heftier than a single (unlikely). Whatever. The burger was absolutely delicious. Tommy's chili hasn't changed--ever--and I love the stuff. I get the burgers without tomatoes because they are tasteless but otherwise, these cheap delectable burgers are loaded with chopped onions, pickles, a ton of chili, and a ton of flavor. I have taken many trips to L.A. and I have yet to make a stop at Tommy's. Original Tommy's World Famous Hamburgers was founded in 1946 by Tom Koulax and started out as a food stand on the northeast corner of Beverly blvd and Rampart blvd. The original location still stands today and I have driven by it on a number of occasions. There are several locations across Los Angeles and a few in Nevada. This location was near my hotel in Burbank, so I thought I would give them a shot. Customer service wasn't bad. Tommy's Original has a walkup counter on the outside of an "A" framed building and had a few people in line when I arrived. It moved quickly and I order the classic Chili Cheeseburger and Fries. Tommy's is famous for their chili burger and dogs. The burger itself wasn't bad, just really messy. I think I would enjoy it more late night after a couple of drinks. It had been awhile since one of our So Cal visits included a Tommy's stop. Never disappoints and is always consistent. This time I had the chili tamale , it includes pickles, diced onions, and sliced tomatoes. Also added chili cheese fries. I went to the Burbank location yesterday while on a day work trip to So CA before I had to hop on my flight home. As it's been awhile since I've visited, I decided to go for a second burger! It might have been too much but it was so good! Follow their Facebook page for weekly savings and offers at all their locations. The Burbank location only offers walk up window ordering. There is ample parking on San Fernando Blvd and behind the shack. Ownership, if you are reading this, I'm the one who emails, calls or FB messages pleading to open a location in Northern NV. If you pay well, I will even manage it for you! :) Many So CA people have moved to this area and know your brand. We would love for you to expand your So NV locations in the Sparks/Reno area. Haven't been to Tommy's since I was basically a teen but decided to have lunch here the other day since my bf and I were in the area and he also hasn't had it before! Parking lot is SUPER tiny but we managed to get a spot before it got really busy. They have outdoor seating only, thankful there's shade, but it's almost like on a driveway so the tables and seating are all slanted. Since it's outdoors, it was also a bit dirty. We ordered our food and I grabbed a slanted table to sit on while my bf waited for our food. Scary to think about sitting on these and having your food slide right off if you sit on the wrong side.. The man who ordered in front of us seemed to be a frequent customer and very angry. He had to make sure the worker knew to add the chili on top rather than the bottom, like the photo suggests. It seemed like an ongoing problem or maybe someone keeps messing up his order somehow. As I was sitting, which is on the side of the building but also by their back door which they keep open.. I heard the workers laughing and talking about that customer and his order. It almost seemed like they were purposely messing up his burger.. not very nice but also do they not realize that the door is open and everyone can hear them? Quite rude and what if the customer was still around? Seems like a bad and messy situation overall. We were here around noon on Sunday 3/23/25. Food was great and came out quick. Didn't like the tomato or pickles on my chili cheese dog, seemed a bit weird and unnecessary? The chili cheese dog was also loaded with chili so it felt like a lot, almost too much to be honest. I should've just went for the chili cheese fries since I wasn't very hungry to begin with but also didn't think it would be massive. If I could give 0 stars, I would! This place sucks! I had a horrible experience when I placed an order for pick up. When I got there and showed them my receipt, they said they had already handed my order to someone else with the same name. Which was impossible because I had to confirm on the app whether or not I picked up my order. They didn't bother to check the other persons receipt and wouldn't fix their mistake by remaking my food. How is it my fault that their staff messed up and gave my order to someone else without confirming. I left empty handed! I stopped by this Original Tommy burger place this morning because I saw their Instagram stories deal on the Double Classic California burger. I was already across the street getting something for my parents so it just made sense to stop by here. I came in the morning so finding parking in the back parking was easy since I came right when they open. I showed the person taking my order the Instagram stories and he honored the price. I didn't grow up here with Tommy's, so I don't get the affinity that some people have for it. it's definitely not always on my radar to stop and grab some grub. However, as a change of pace one in awhile, I'll swing by if I pass one (not on my normal routes) as the food is generally fast, decently palatable, and one of the more fiscally friendly options left in the world.
