Fresh yummy bread
Brenda A.

Consistently good BBQ! The ribs here fall off the bone and the tritip is so good. The mac and cheese is super gooey and pretty yum and the peanut coleslaw is also very good. I really enjoy the bread here I hate to admit but it's just so good fresh out of the oven. It can get busy on weekends with up to an hour wait but usually it's no more than 15-20 min. There's a parking structure directly behind the restaurant and also another across the street. They have a full bar with TVs if you want to catch the game and patio seating as well. Service is usually pretty attentive and they are good with beverage refills.

Wood Ranch Burbank . We made a online reservation. We're seated upon arriving (on time) . Our server took our orders and they came out in a decent amount of time. I ordered salmon, it was cooked well the mashed potatoes are tasty and buttery. They had the soccer game playing in the screen, so we definitely enjoyed dinner and a game. It is a little on the loud side.

I had the Carolina pulled pork with salad, sweet potatoes fries. The service was great server Djarus is one of the best servers I had experience. He took excellent care of our table. The ambiance was so pleasant and inviting. I highly recommend this Place for lunch or dinner. Kindness forward one person at a time.

This is a great spot to come with family and friends. The bread rolls are so delicious and the service is typically really good. They have a Happy Hour menu Monday thru Friday from 3-6 in the bar area.

Wood Ranch for dinner during the week means less wait time. They are always super busy on Fri-Sun , so if you can, come during the week. We sat outside this time which had some nice ceiling heating lamps that did the job. The free garlic rolls were warm , soft, and buttery: never fails. We ordered the killer wings for our appetizer- QTY 10 and it came with some carrots and celery. They were drenched in a tangy buffalo sauce. For our entrees we ordered the classic burger and the BBQ combo - 2 items. We went with the BBQ ribs and tri tip. This also comes with two sides. It's a pretty good deal for the amount of food you get. Btw you can order your burger "protein style" with no bun. I like their coleslaw here too- it has peanuts and is more of a vinegar base than mayo base. It was my sisters bday and they brought out a sundae with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and sprinkles!

The restaurant is so comfortable, friendly family atmosphere and just homey. The server is supported by a great team of other servers. Great service. Well, the food is great and tasty. The combo was with half chicken and two beef ribs with asparagus and corn on the side. Will be back here again.

I went here on December 21, 2022 on my dad's b-day .I ordered the beef ribs if I remember correctly. They looked kinda burnt. Tasted a little burnt too but that's because they're pecan wood-smoked. It came with two signature sides. The sides were original peanut coleslaw and Idaho baked potato. The peanut coleslaw was unlike other coleslaw I've had, the peanut made it crunchy. The Idaho baked potato was soft and the butter made it even better. Service was fine, pretty average. Lighting was great because of the warm yellow fixtures. It was warm inside.

Down during the week and got seated right away. The food was delicious and tasty. The rolls are delicious. The restaurant soon filled up and was a little noisy. We received the bill and the server came back with that lovely tablet. She processes my card and hard coded 20% to the bill. The server held that tablet tight and it was hard to enter any information. She mentioned that she can't leave it on the table. I u sweat and not leaving it on the table but I felt like a kid that I couldn't even touch it just press the buttons. I was a little awkward. But love the food.

Always good go to for a pretty decent steak dinner with friends and or family. Their barbecue dishes are pretty good. They're always consistent in food quality and service. Great beverages and they're pretty consistent in this area as well.

BBQ Chopped Salad

I've been coming to Woodranch for well over 10 years and it's continued to be one of my favorite chain restaurants. You can't go wrong with anything you choose but my go to order is the fire roasted half chicken with the French fries and mac&cheese. The fries are perfectly crispy, the Mac has just the right amount of cheese and the chicken is always so juicy. The bbq chopped salad is also great if you're looking for something lighter. The dining room is big and an adjacent bar which is pretty sizable and a great outdoor patio so you have a ton of options for seating. The service is excellent and the staff are friendly and on top of things. I'd recommend this for anything with family or casual outings. Don't forget to ask for the garlic rolls!

Ribeye steak medium
Carmen H.

Well this really makes me sad to review this low on a place I had been wanting to try for a while now. I had been craving a ribeye steak this week and we finally went and I chose Wood Ranch. We went to an early dinner after a movie around 4:30ish so the wait was not bad at all. The restaurant was nice and quiet which I liked. We had already seen the menu so we knew what we wanted to order. We decided to share the ribeye with loaded mashed potatoes and a beef rib with a side of mac and cheese. We first started with the artichoke and spinach dip and that was really tasty. Not too long after we finished the appetizer we got our plates. The steak looked really delicious. We ordered it medium. Which was cooked perfectly. The steak was very delicious but could have used a bit more salt and pepper for my taste and didn't seem to be as juicy of a steak as I'm used too. The mashed potatoes were a little too dry for me, not enough butter or cream. They were supposed to be loaded and all it had was cheese and bacon. The beef rib was delicious but I forgot to order with no barbecue sauce and I felt like it had way too much much sauce also for my liking. But it was cooked perfectly and the meat would just fall off the bone. I'm glad I came in to try but it wasn't what I expected.

We were charged $30 per person, which felt very reasonable given current California pricing. Pickup was smooth and well organized. We ordered a variety of items including pork and beef ribs, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw--everything was flavorful and well prepared, and the food was a hit with the entire group. The staff was a pleasure to work with--friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful throughout the process. It also felt good supporting what appears to be a small business that clearly takes pride in both its food and customer service. Upon entering the establishment, the ambience of the place embraces you as a guest. Small, but nicely decorates and with good music playing. It's a very comfortable environment for enjoying this stellar barbecue and sides. Smaller menu, but it's really all you need, especially when you do the one thing you do really well. Mashed potatoes are authentic handmade mashed potatoes with the taste of home. BBQ was perfect and tender and TASTY. Reminder 1: this is quality food, not fast food, so be prepared to wait a little bit, especially if you have a larger order. Reminder 2: BBQ it's not a cheap food to make, so you will not find any dollar menus here, but if you compare to Manny, the other barbecue restaurants in their location, you will find this is an extremely good value.

We visited the Burbank location on Glenoaks and ordered the 2 Piece White plate ($19) which comes with baked beans and coleslaw, along with sweet teas. We went medium spice and it was the perfect call -- enough heat to let you know it's there without overwhelming the incredible flavor of the chicken itself. The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat was extraordinarily juicy -- this is some of the best fried chicken in the city, full stop. Fresh, never frozen, natural and hormone-free chicken fried in peanut oil -- and you can taste the difference. The baked beans were sweet and comforting -- a perfect Southern companion to the chicken. The coleslaw rounded out the plate nicely and the sweet tea was exactly what you want in a spot like this. Our waitress was exceptionally accommodating and made excellent recommendations that guided us in the right direction -- that kind of attentive, knowledgeable service makes the whole experience feel special. The atmosphere is old school diner all the way -- checkered tablecloths, no frills, just great food and genuine Southern hospitality. The whole experience felt like a step back in time in the best possible way. At $19 for a two piece white meat plate with two sides this is outstanding value for the quality you're getting. Gus's is the real deal and deserves every bit of its reputation. If you haven't been, fix that immediately.

As a loyal customer of this establishment for over two decades, I have consistently visited the…read moredeli and meats department at least once a month. However, I am compelled to rate this establishment one star due to a particularly unpleasant experience with a female deli employee whose first name begins with the letter "J." Despite my frequent visits, the overall customer service in the deli and meats department has declined. The season butchers have been replaced with individuals lacking the necessary experience and customer courtesy that were previously present. Over the past three months, I have encountered the same issues with this particular employee. It is important to note that the fee charged for slicing a Tri Tip into a carton container is not the primary concern. The issue lies in the employee's behavior and attitude, specifically their unwillingness to properly wrap the sliced meat. This has occurred on multiple occasions, most recently at the checkout counter when the cashier pull the foil-wrapped package from the plastic bag causing the juices of the meat to spill all over the counter. This has happened to me every time this employee has served me. The Tri Tip sliced meat is dry and devoid of juices due to this careless employee's failure to wrap the meat carefully. It is imperative that this situation be addressed. Management should provide this employee, "J," with proper training on how to wrap sliced food correctly. Additionally, it is crucial the ambiance that all employees, including the deli and butcher employees, maintain a pleasant and friendly demeanor. A salutation is always appreciated. Despite these concerns, the BBQ remains outstanding as always.

I'll go one by one as I really didn't skimp on any of it..... First off, the brisket was so tender I couldn't even get it on to my plate originally. I had to keep stabbing at it with a fork and it just kept falling into pieces it was magical. The flavor was amazing with the perfect combination of that smokey and fire grilled taste. Didn't even need to use any sauce, but don't sleep on their BBQ sauce it had the perfect flavor of not too acidic and not too sugary. It's hard to stop eating it. I had to follow it up with the brisket quesadillas because.... well because they were staring at me and I had to show them who was boss.... Again, insane flavor combo and pleasantly addicting. Next move I had to throw down on a couple of hot wings to make sure my taste buds were still jumping and ready for the upcoming situation. Just for reference purposes, nice little kick with a bit of smokey flavor. Could've eaten 20 in one sitting but was continuing on my path of BBQ destruction. We now veered over to the baby back ribs .... I think I ate 10 before I realized what was going on. Yet again, the flavor was perfect and the meat was cooked to perfection. It didn't need any sauce, but I was a big fan of loading up on the BBQ sauce for these bad boys..... Next I shifted my fat eyed focus over to the tri-tip. It had that perfect pink center looking like a medium rare meaty super model. I went a different route here and dipped it into this horseradish sauce concoction that I never seen or heard of in my life. I don't know what was in that sauce, but it was phenomenal. I could have literally eaten this stuff by itself, but everyone was looking so I didn't want to make it weird. The tri-tip itself didn't even need any sauce and was super juicy, but that sauce just elevated the taste to another level. Now we decided to go a different location on the farm pay tribute to some smoked chicken. I had to dabble with both the BBQ sauce and the horseradish sauce as my dipping/smothering choices for this tasty bird. Couldn't even tell you how great it was without the sauce, since my mind was already fading trying to fight off my meat sweat coma. Lastly for our protein portion of the evening, I had to top it off with some of that pulled pork. Now this was extremely flavorful and some of the best I've had in quite some time. I did however enjoy lathering it up with that BBQ sauce like some of his fellow plate mates I already devoured. I will give a shout out to the sides, even though I only had a brief taste of each as I was going hard on the proteins. High fives to the potato salad, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, street corn, corn bread, tator tots and collard greens. I may have possibly missed one or 2, but after gorging on disgusting amounts of food, you tend to forget things. Had to make sure to sneak some of those greens in there so my heart didn't give out.... I however did not indulge in the chips and salsa that were there since I didn't want to come off as a pig..... So instead (as I forgot to mention previously), I took the queso and poured it over some pulled pork because that's what needed to happen at that moment.... Boom! For the grand finale, we had this banana pudding dessert that literally put me over the top. If I could openly cuss on this platform, I genuinely would.... It was absolutely orgasmic. That's right, you read that correctly. I don't know what they put in that thing, but to call it amazing would be an understatement. Pretty sure I blacked out at some point while finishing my bowl of dessert. As you can read, I was not a fan of any of the food in any way shape or form.(Sarcasm ...) I look forward to going back, but I will need to wait until I awake from this painful food coma I've been fighting off since the ending of the World Cup match watching USA beat the breaks off of Bosnia with one man down. Much love on the food and I happily dedicate this extra fat fold on my stomach and the 8lb weight gain to AJ's BBQ.

The draw back is this place is very crowed during peak times and it a little too small considering the amount of customers that come. I've driven past Papa's Meat and Seafood on Glenoaks Blvd a dozen times, on our many trips to the area. We alway promising that we would stop in, and I'd finally stop in. Honestly, my only regret is waiting this long. I ordered the Luka Sandwich, which is loaded with their 14-hour smoked pastrami brisket, cheddar, pickled cherry peppers, iceberg, and Papa's aioli on toasted sourdough. The pastrami itself is a work of art--smoky, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and seasoned perfectly without being a total salt bomb. The pickled cherry peppers give it this incredible, bright pop of heat that cuts right through the richness of the beef. It's a messy, beautiful monster of a sandwich.  My wife went with the Surf 'n' Turf Bowl, which comes with their marinated "Crack Shrimp" and grilled angus beef over rice with a fresh shirazi salad. The beef was incredibly tender, but those crack shrimp stole the show--snappy, heavily seasoned, and completely addictive. You can clearly taste the quality of a high-end butcher shop in a casual, quick-service lunch.  The only reason I'm knocking off one star is the wait time and the seating is also pretty limited, so it's much better suited for a grab-and-go situation than a sit-down date night. That being said, the quality of the meat here blows standard sandwich joints completely out of the water. If you're in Burbank and want a lunch that actually feels high-quality and satisfying, do yourself a favor and drop in. I'm already eyeing the A5 Wagyu Cheesesteak for my next visit!
