This place is the definition of greedflation. Prices have creeped up and my last visit, all meal combos are 15 dollars and above now. Not only are their prices exorbitant, but the burgers are a sad excuse. They have been thinning out the pattys. You'd expect a premium experience for the amount they charge, but instead, you're left with a mediocre burgers that leave your wallet empty and your stomach unsatisfied. I come here for the chili burgers with extra pickles. This location is clean but exiting the parking is tricky; it's about the same as the Rowland Heights location. The people who work there are nice. By the way, if you "Like" them on facebook, sometimes they'll give a code that you can get a chili burger or chili fries for 99 cents (limit 5). read more

We came on a sunday evening because we wanted Tommy's to eat at the drive in. The drive thru was so slow. More then 10 min wait. When we finally got to the window he didn't apologize for the wait. When we got to the movies we noticed the fries were undercooked. They were still hard. We were disappointed. We couldn't go back because we were already in the drive in. The only good thing was he got our burger that was special order right. He also asked if we wanted ketchup and chili's. I know they're busy but we didn't wait that long to get fries that weren't cooked and not edible. read more

Pretty dang good. Its is definitely a guilty pleasure so please don't go when you're trying to be "good." I ordered the 8oz chili (amazing) and the BF got the chili burger combo with fries and a raspberry iced tea. The food was hot and fresh and the drive thru service gal was sweet to us. When I had originally gone there it was coming home a bit later [Not midnight type of late but more of 7 pm]. When we had gotten our food and I got to my burger I noticed that it somehow still had been cold to eat and uneven in temperatures making it very uncomfortable to eat. I wouldn't recommend it unless they update how their food is prepared as no one would want a lukewarm to fridge temp burger. read more

It's unfortunate that the most recent visit I had wasn't a 5 star visit. I'm docking off a star because I ASKED FOR A TRIPLE CHEESEBURGER WITH PEPPERCINIS and the gentleman who took my order at the drive through window (he even read back our order and said "TRIPLE cheeseburger,") ended up giving me a double cheeseburger. I've been eating Tommy's burger since 1965 and never dissatisfied until we moved here in Ontario. I know that each location is franchised bur never thought I'd ever be disappointed until now. I loved their chili but last night was horrible I don't know if they changed their recipe but I now like Winerschnizel more than theirs. The corporate office should check it out. read more

It kills me to post this, I Love Tommy's and have been coming here for years but tonight they really dropped the ball. I ordered two chili cheeseburgers with the chili on the side....and man am I thankful I did. In those somewhat faded memories of my undergrad years at USC, the pleasant memories of making late-night Tommy's runs have kind of melted together like so much chili and cheese on a sponge dough hamburger bun. That last leg on Rampart was always charged with anticipation: would there be a line at 2 in the morning? Would the parking lot have a low rider crew hanging out, revving their engines and bouncing Impalas on the weathered asphalt like the namesake gazelle bounds across the Serengeti? Did I remember my wallet? One thing was always certain-- double cheeseburgers, smothered in chili with extra onions and pickles, then eaten bite for bite with a banana pepper to keep your nose running were always part of the master plan. The old school paper towel dispensers, the plywood counter, that had survived countless onslaughts with scribers, termites, misplaced smokes, and several paint jobs... And of course, that Army kitchen-sized pit of chili, cooking over a burner that never got turned off-- these were the things of tradition and culture that can't and never will truly exist in their purest form at Tommy's franchises, which have popped up all over SoCal. This particular location gets an extra half-star for its late hours-- 1:30 AM closing during the week and 2 AM on weekends-- but the melamine table tops, appropriate track lighting, and ADA-approved restroom access doesn't do justice to the ORIGINAL Original Tommy's. It's perfectly OK, by the way, to use a form or spoon to eat those last few bites of chili off the burger wrapper after you've finished. Fresh toppings, the thick-cut tomato, the diced onions, and of course, those little peppers that are hotter on the exit than the entry make Tommy's a winner to visit in a measures way. Eating Tommy's burgers too frequently will burn you out in more ways than one (especially if you load up on those peppers), and probably will add a little substance to your shadow this summer. A few extra laps around the local high school's jogging track should help. read more

Known fact that Tommy's is the direct path to heartburn heaven! What's funny is being equipped with that knowledge and still coming to Tommy's at about 1am for a full-on meal. Their chili is an ooey gooey mess that goes well on EVERYTHING they have. The burgers are delicious, so are their fries, and once in a while, the tamales (or whatever it really is) are all a delicious battle in your digestive tract. I usually get my stuff without the signature tomato they throw on top of everything. Sometimes the service can be a tad slow, and the occasional riff-raff walks through those doors, but otherwise--all good. read more

This is a late post but my experience Was still really great because of the staff. A customer ahead of us placed a very large order which made myself and three other customers wait a little longer for our order to be taken. My husband kept them laughing. The staff was amazing, kept us informed and kept speaking to us. Even though we had to wait for our food, it was a pleasure knowing that we were still getting quality service and quality hot food served with a smile. I don't want to dog this place because it was a good burger and chili fries but not any better in my opinion than a Five Guys in fact, they were identical to me Now the different twist is the chili they offer on the fries and also on the burger if you want. The chili is a good chili to dump on a hot dog or fries. Love Tommy's as I've been coming here since I was a kid. Food is always delicious. This location is good, and the girls in the DT are always friendly. Not to sure if the company has changed the amount of chili they put on the burger, as this is the second time my burger had very little chili. The first time, I thought it was maybe something new that didn't know, but this is the second time in a row. I remember the chili burger always having a good amount of chili, that it would ooze out and make a mess as you were eating. Now it doesn't even drip out the sides. I'm not to sure if this is the new standard, but I hope not, because it is very disappointing as a guest that comes to Tommy's because of the "Famous chili burger". read more

***** Greasy Goodness! (Chino) ***** A coworker yelled out from a distance, "greasy"! I yelled back "Tommy's"? ha ha ha... It's always a wonderful treat to eat at Tommy's when my heart can handle it. We all know that there's plenty of grease, but it's soooo good. That's why I call it a treat because it's not something that i can eat, nor I should eat everyday. I choose to eat it once in a while to satisfy my taste buds. I had my typical hotdog with chili only with fries well done. I'm happy to report that Tommy's hits the mark every time. Their food is always tasty and consistent no matter what location I choose. Even when it comes down to ordering my fries well done they always do a perfect job! The outter skin of the french fry has a slight crunch, while the inside has the soft potato texture. The outter skin remains crunchy enough so that I can dip in the chili without it breaking in half or getting too soggy by the end of my meal. The only slight down-side to this location is that the parking is a little small for my big truck. I had to park it somewhere else and walk back to Tommy's. The walk wasn't too bad. The line to get the food was minimal, so I'm a happy camper :-) Food = excellent (as expected) Seating area = clean Service = friendly Restroom = clean Access = easy freeway access right off of Mountain Ave. Easy access to jump back on the freeway to hit the road again. read more
