I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again. Our move was yesterday and to say that I was "not my best self" would be extremely generous. Have you ever tried to pack by yourself while still working from home with a toddler? (Where is that Yelp page? Zero stars.) Anyway these guys arrived right on time, assessed the dumpster fire, and got right to work. There seemed to be an ever so slight disconnect between my communication with Thomas - who set up our move for us - and with what I ultimately agreed to upon signing the contract when the moving team actually arrived, but any confusion was over things that were EXTREMELY minor (use of their boxes, tiny little things) and did not in any way impact the experience negatively. Literally every single person I interacted with at this company was so, so friendly and kind and did not in the least bit seem sales-y or dishonest. In fact, the only reason I mention it at all is so that people reading this review will believe me that this company really was fantastic to work with. Fobody's nerfect, and I for one always give a little side eye to overly glowing reviews, you know? The highlight for me was that at one point, Levan pointed out a lamp I hadn't packed up and gently suggested we put it in a box so that it wouldn't break in the truck. As I had just about achieved complete disassociation by that time, I think I said "I DON'T CARE IF IT BREAKS." And then I took my kid and my bad attitude to go get a strawberry lemonade and wait for everything to be over. Thomas met with me via a FaceTime call and took a tour of my apartment and almost instantly gave me a quote. Quick and efficient. Showed up early within the scheduled time, scouted the place and truck was loaded within 15 min. I had a studio apartment so there was about 20 boxes and a few loose furniture/items the easily took care of. Even though they were fast, nothing was damaged and they knew exactly what they were doing. So great, the building asked for their card to be added to their recommendation list of movers. Unloading was great too. Easily complied with my new building regulations in moving in which was a round about trip to the basement then back up. I will never use another moving company again! We LOVE this company and their team. Orion is truly the best moving experience(s) we've ever had. We used them a year and a half ago to move from the WV to BK Heights and it was truly seamless and honestly a delightful experience. Also, we weren't the best clients for this first move. We had boxes that still needed to be packed as well as furniture that needed to be moved out bc we weren't taking it with us. David & team went above and beyond to help us and even helped us do some of the packing to show us how to pack things in the most optimal way. I had what I thought was a very complicated move, out of a Manhattan studio with an outdoor space and hundreds of plants into storage, and then from several rooms in a house, back to storage, and all to Philadelphia. I wanted to wait until I had time to unpack my boxes to give the full review. The verdict? They are annoyingly good! Even the stuff I packed hoping it would break didn't break. The crew showed up both times with David, who I wasn't surprised to find out on the second stint has some special forces training. These guys must have moved every box I owned 8 times, stacking to the top of the truck and then down again! I had no idea how it was all going to fit but they are an absolute machine- what would have taken me and friends weeks with careful planning they knocked out in bare hours. I didn't mean to use their packing services, but the delicates in my kitchen weren't ready when they got here right on time- no worries, blink! And they're all rolled in paper and perfectly stacked, not a scratch on a wine glass. Incredible! Might have been 30 minutes or so. Beyond that they are considerate, thoughtful, and intelligent guys. Look no further. Hands down, the best moving company in NYC. My family and I were moving from downtown Manhattan to Philadelphia. I browsed Yelp for the best reviewed companies and chose a different removal company (whose reviews weren't five star but for some reason, I'd missed Orion on my first research) Their quote seemed quite expensive so, for due diligence, I just re-checked my options. This is when I found Orion. They had excellent reviews so I got in touch for a quote. I was contacted, within thirty minutes, by Margott (whose responsiveness was always impeccable) We did a FaceTime walkthrough of my apartment and when it became apparent that we had a lot of stuff Margott arranged for an assessor to visit our apartment. Two days later, on time and covid compliant, the assessor quickly and efficiently compiled an inventory of our belongings. Within two hours of his visit Margott had delivered a quote. I was delighted to see it was $1300 cheaper than the original company that quoted us and since the reviews at the initial company were not nearly as favorable as they are for Orion, I didn't hesitate to book Orion for our move. Two days later, boxes were delivered. A week later Margott emailed to see how we were progressing. I asked for more boxes and they were delivered the very next day and since we had removed two large bookcases from our inventory (we decided not to take them) Margott offset the cost of the boxes against these items. I didn't even ask for this! Honestly, this company will not rip you off! On moving day we were called by Margott who told us that David and his team were on their way and not to worry because we would be in safe hands. She was not kidding! David and his team were AMAZING! It took them two hours to completely pack up our three bedroom apartment. They were fast, careful, courteous and professional. David had brought a team of five with him especially because we have a toddler and a baby and wanted to make the experience as painless as possible. When we arrived at Philadelphia the team were only about 30 minutes behind us. They were down to three men but they did the work of six! The team (apologies for not being able to remember their names) worked so hard to unload our boxes and reassemble our furniture. They worked as fast as possible to accommodate the needs of our children. Honestly, this is the most positive moving experience I've ever had, and I've moved a lot! Margott was extremely responsive both over email and phone. Three movers came with a truck. They brought tons of tape, blankets, dollies, and even some large boxes which they threw miscellaneous stuff in. Overall it was a great experience. They were super fast with bringing things up the stairs and weren't grumpy at all! Even with some super heavy, hard to move stuff. There was a minor billing issue, but they resolved it super fast. What a pleasant experience with Orion Moving from start to finish! I just used them to help me get all the furniture from Staten Island to Brooklyn. I was told that the movers (David and his partner) will be in Staten Island from 9-10 AM. To my surprise, they came at 8:40 AM. I have moved a few times before and usually I would have to wait for movers not the other way around. My stuff was packed but a few items required some extra padding and guys put the blankets on to ensure that my stuff won't get damaged. The guys didn't rush and took their time to do things right, even though I agreed on a flat fee. Nothing got damaged in the move. When getting things into the house, the guys were super careful not to damage the furniture or parts of the house. Even after the job was done, David stayed and gave me some pointers how to assemble some of my furniture (they also assemble but I didn't need them to do it for me). With so many bad moving companies out there, I was very glad I got one of the good ones! These guys have not been in business that long and you could clearly see they care and want to do right by the customer. Their attitude, professionalism and respect were all top notch and in addition to the very competitive price (by the way the final price matched exactly the quote I was given), this made it a great experience. Second time we used Orion, second 5 star review. Still top notch moving services...professional, careful, and incredibly hard working. This time, we vastly underestimated the amount of stuff we had. Was not inexpensive, but they worked with us to keep it reasonable. Also, had an issue with our couch fitting through the door. They tried really hard for about an hour, but you can't put a square peg in a round hole. We came up with a temporary solution together, and they referred me to a service that I never knew existed -- in-home furniture disassembly/reassembly. All worked out in the end. I had a wonderful moving experience with Orion Moving company this morning. We were doing a local move for a 1b1b apartment. They got there 8:30 am, counted our items, made sure the contract is mutually agreed and considered the move starts at 9am! They assigned us 3 movers, all professional, friendly and very efficient. They had really good tools to make the moving smoothly and efficiently. All stuff were packed within an hour and the whole moving took less than 4 hours. You can choose hourly rate $155/hour or you can get a flat fee quote. The difference is that if you want to do flat fee, make sure you have them know your list in advanced and notify them if you want to make change. I talked to four different other movers in yelp and I finally pick Orion Moving because the fee is reasonable and I had no problem communicating with them. "Some movers" sent me this long list of terms with quote and I noticed they charged you extra packing materials. If you want to estimate it, I don't think it worths the try since Orion Moving already provides all these protecting packing materials free! I highly recommend their service and please you deserve to get the pro help!! read more

I had several pieces of mirrored furniture and nothing was damaged during the move. My furniture that would have taken me all night to reassemble was done in mere minutes. We used Orion for our recent move and they were excellent! They responded quickly to our request and made sure we had all the right paperwork and approvals needed with our building beforehand. David and his team handled the actual move and they were super friendly, fast and efficient. They took care to wrap all our furniture and handle our boxes with care - putting heavier boxes on the bottom and keeping aware of items labeled fragile. Some of our furniture already had a little damage before the move, so David made sure to call this out to us and share the steps he was taking to avoid additional damage during the move.
