I am writing this review to warn others about this company. If I could give Orkin and this particular branch zero stars I would. I recently arranged a pest inspection at my home with the Eaglerock branch as I observed multiple exit holes on my ceiling. The representative, Erik, performed the inspection. He agreed that the holes were not from termites, but likely from some other type of wood-destroying organism and that opening up the ceiling drywall is recommended to confirm the type of infestation. After three weeks, I repeatedly followed-up with him and his office requesting the inspection report. Today, I was told that no report would be generated or prepared because it was not a "full inspection." I was flabbergasted! I asked the representative what would be required for a full inspection and she just kept saying they will not provide a report. I asked her if, at the very least, the inspector could write a limited report describing what he observed during the inspection (e.g. multiple exit holes, but no termite activity) similar to what other pest companies who subsequently inspected my condominium unit submitted (both limited and full reports). She dismissively replied, "Well, you can just submit those reports to your HOA." I informed her that I believe her company was unprofessional, unethical, and lacked any customer service whatsoever. I also explained to her how much time I spent to make my home accessible to their inspector and to follow-up with them repeatedly, only to be told there would not be a report generated whatsoever. I completely understand the one-star reviews for this branch. They obviously do not care about serving or protecting their customers despite their state customer satisfaction guarantee. read more

This company doesn't even deserve one star! I contacted Orkin because we had rodents in our attic, they closed 5 entry points, but there was a handful of additional entry areas that were still not dealt with.The large rectangular air vents that are on the outside of the house. They wouldn't put the wire mesh on the inside. They stapled it on the outside of the house and when I asked, they said this is how we do it. Forget about the appearance of your home! We had 3 or 4 technicians come to the house to do the inspection, not one of them left the ladder to crawl into the attic to perform an adequate inspection. I had their service less than a month before I realized their service was unsatisfactory. When I canceled the service and requested my $465 refund they refused and said they provided the service on the contract. Stay away from this company! read more

Had them come out and do a Termite inspection. They provided a super high quote compared to three other companies that came out. They eventually provided a reasonably priced quote and we accepted the quote. On the day that the service was to be provided their agent was rude and pushy. One hour before the scheduled start time. They were not reasonable at all. We ended up cancelling the rest of the Service based on the poor customer service we received from their Agent. We also requested to speak with a Manager at the time or our issue, but the Manager was out at a "regional meeting". Not at all what we expected from Orkin. We would NOT recommend Orkin. read more

I was unhappy with the service because I had plenty of pests during their service and they did not honor their "The Orkin Guarantee We're not happy, until you're happy. With off-schedule return visits" guarantee, so I canceled. They told me on July 12th I could restart with 90 days with no setup fee. I called on August 12th to give them another chance by upgrading to a more frequent service, but they told me they would not honor their promise to start over without charging the initial fee all over again, so I am taking my business elsewhere. read more

We've been with Orkin for years and we truly couldn't be any happier with our current service technician, Art. He's the best! We live on four acres and we have lots of spiders, ants, scorpions, etc. Any time we need anything Art is there with a smile! If we need an extra service due to excessive ants or spiders, Art will come out at no extra cost. And, he's always SO NICE about it and does such a great job. For the first time ever, this year we haven't yet found one scorpion, that's great news for us, lol. We still get spiders and ants from time to time, but without Orkin we'd be infested. And whenever we have a flare up, we let Art know and he comes right over to take care of it. We've used other companies in the past, but we couldn't be happier with Art and Orkin. Orkin's Jose Sanchez came out the day after calling. Scheduling the quote visit was really easy and he did a thorough inspection. They threw in a 5 year warranty when providing the quote which was great. That said, Jose did not follow through on providing a roof report, which was a selling point for going with Orkin. He stopped responding to emails, calls, and text messages after the termite fumigation services were completed, which was disappointing. We have a warranty, so we'll use again, but I wouldn't recommend it. I'm a big fan of follow through. read more

I've been with Orkin for over 20 years. Recently had some issues with rodent and termites. I've had to call them mulitple times to inspect and service the house over the last few weeks. AVOID! I provided detailed instructions on how to enter my home because I wouldn't be home. Technician comes, I see him on camera, and he's spraying the perimeter of my home while he's watching a video on his phone. He never attempted to enter the house to deal with an ant infestation. It's impossible to get in touch with the local office. I have two accounts with them, one for my personal home and the other for my business. They took the credit card information from my home account and fraudulently billed my personal account. Try giving them a call and you'll get a rep from out of state. This is just another large company with bad service. Use a reputable local exterminator company and support small local businesses. read more

I am so impressed by the level of concern and communication Orkin has expressed. Six weeks ago our pest needs were met through a rival company. I had been with that company over eight years. At the beginning, they understood my fears and were very responsive. As time elapsed, they became less so. Fast-forward eight years and a problem we had with flies in our home. They seemingly came from nowhere, as I keep a very clean home and could not pinpoint a food source. The problem occurred on a Friday evening, and by Saturday afternoon, Orkin had attended to the problem and thoroughly eradicated the issue. Nathan was extremely professional and understanding. He explained that he was not the regular guy in our area, but that person would also be very responsive. That's all I needed to hear. I quit the company I had for years and went with Orkin. Arthur is amazingly responsive and very attentive. I am so glad I switched. I hope Orkin treats their employees well and manages to retain excellent people. I do not mind paying a bit more when the quality of the person I'm dealing with is far superior to the competition. read more

We discovered our condo & our neighboring condos had termites. We received inspections and quotes from 3 different vendors, Orkin being the last one. They gave us the best price paired with the most services offered. They did more than the other 2 companies were willing to do to treat the termites (we had both types), and their price was also the best somehow. We mostly spoke with Pablo Romero, who did a great job explaining the scope of work in detail, what was necessary and why, and how the treatment would take place. It was all completed within a few hours, and he was even accommodating of covering the baby's nursery in plastic (per my request) and ensuring the technician would start treatment in there first. We were very happy with the quality of service. The holes they had to drill don't even stand out, and they will return to ensure the work was done well and that termites do not return. He really goes to show how it should be done. And anyone reading this post should be confident to put your home in his excellent care. Over 30 years ago I got several quotes for termites at my rental house 1 mile away. Six companies came out. Everyone of them wanted to tent my house and garage for over $1,000. except Orkin. I asked all the other companies why i needed to tent my house when the problem was in the detached garage which set way back. The other inspectors must have thought I was stupid. The problem is that they're incredibly difficult to contact and their customer service is terrible. I'm moving and am actually really sad about not needing to transfer this service with our Orkin service rep Sebastian Rojas. I don't think people give too much thought to a subscription exterminator service and their staff. But when you get out of this world service you just have to send a shout out to the person. Sebastian has been the most amazing Orkin service rep, making sure to plug up a couple of minor possible rodent entry points (works!!), along with our usual mosquito and ant control service (we have a fig tree - we have a lot less ants now); he let me know when it was acceptable to let to dogs out, and when a car was blocking the backyard gate, he made sure to return the next day to complete service. He's professional, knowledgeable, communicative of any issues he might find, and lastly is just overall a super nice human who really cared about our service. Yesterday, we suddenly had tons of flies in the house. This was unacceptable, as we have a very clean house. We first called Stanley, our regular exterminator service, and they were useless, saying they couldn't come until Monday. Eventually, we got a hold of someone at Orkin. They sent Nathan out today. From the get go, he was friendly and very professional. He checked everything, and I mean everything. He went up in the attic, and he checked the outside thoroughly. Then, he sprayed the whole house inside and out. He was here for over an hour, and he explained everything very well. This emergency service was pricey but well worth it. My landlord set up an account with Orkin to come to my house and spray for bugs. I received a voicemail from Denise (626) 427-6146 stating she was from Orkin and for me to call back and schedule an appointment. I called back within the hour. The call went straight to an automated system. No one ever says thank you for calling orkin or can I place you on hold? You are dumped into a prerecorded hell. You have to listen to a repeated sales recording, bug tips, a generic guitar song that started and ended more times than I can count. Also, them saying they are "experiencing unusual high call volume" over and over and over. When they finally answered, I'm told Denise was busy, but the person who answered said she would schedule my appointment. After several questions- address, city, zip code, name, etc. she was unable to find the order or the account. I asked if she could set up a new account and schedule the appointment now. She said she could - but she couldn't. For some reason my address brought up another person's name. (Not my landlord). She gave me the name and no one has lived at this address with that name in the last 15 years. She said she would have Denise call me back. Denise never called me back. I called back several times leaving messages. (I know I will never get the on hold music out of my head). After 2 days of calling and listening to their sales recording, bug tips, generic guitar music, and them saying they are "experiencing unusual high call volume" over and over and over I got passed the prerecorded nonsense and spoke with Denise. She found my address under my landlords name. And scheduled my appointment for a week later. She said a technician would be at my house between 8am and 10am. The big day finally came and I stayed at home and waited. At 9:45am I called Orkin. Waited on hold listening to their sales recording, bug tips, generic guitar music, and them saying they are "experiencing unusual high call volume" over and over and over. Finally someone answered. I asked them to check my appointment. The person on the phone said "I see you have an appointment today between 9 and 10am...." and then quickly says "but it was rescheduled for today between 2 and 4pm." I think she realized they had missed the promised timeframe. I ask who rescheduled it? She said I requested it. I told her I didn't. She said they tried to call me to let me know but I didn't answer my phone. I said you were trying to call me so you could let me know I rescheduled my appointment!? I said not only did I not reschedule, I never received a missed call or a voicemail from a 626 area code. Then she has the nerve to tell me that it is noted on my account. I asked her how soon can the tech get to my house. She says she needs to check and puts me on hold. 15 minutes later I'm still on hold so I text my landlord and now he is try to call Orkin too. He says he is on hold listening some sales pitch, bug tips for dummy's, generic guitar music, and them saying they are "experiencing unusual high call volume" over and over and over. He says he can't wait so he's going to leave a message. Then at 20 minutes I get disconnected. So me being the glutten for punishment that I am, I call Orkin back again. Hoping that while I'm on hold listening to listening to their sales recording, bug tips, generic guitar music, and them saying they are "experiencing unusual high call volume" over and over and over that someone will call me back. But no. I wait on hold for another 10 minutes and when I finally get someone to answer, the person on the phone says the tech will be out between 2 and 4. I told them that was unacceptable. She said that's the best they can do. I told them I would call my landlord and have them cancel their account with Orkin and hung up. And guess what...they never tried to call back and no one showed up between 2 and 4 to try and save a new customer or save a new account. My guess is the account was set up wrong. Wrong address. And definitely wrong phone number! So this review is not for how well they did the job. Or that my bugs aren't gone. Or how much they over charged us. Or how you need to read the small print on the contract (like all the other reviews). My review is on their customer service or the lack of customer service. My landlord cancelled the account. No apology. No one tried to save the account. No discount was offered. Sad. Thanks for letting me vent Yelpers. I have another pest control company coming out tomorrow. This company took over Heart Pest Management. They did not obtain it smoothly and I have had nothing but problems. They never came out in May, but charged me for this in July for May, June, and July all at once. It took a week to get ahold of anyone. They outsource calls to India so they would "leave messages" for Orkin to call and no call. I tried calling several times and was on hold for 40 minutes once and 35 another for the longer waits out of all the times I called. Most of the time, I had to hand up and forgot about since I had to go back to work because I was on I lunch. Finally, go ahold of someone to speak to a manager for me and took 25 minutes to have her go back and forth about our May issue and how they never came at all but billed us, but they finally refunded me 8 days after my phone call. Then after their last visit and getting the refund in between, they came out AGAIN 16 days after their last physical visit in July with no warning. We have clear notes about how they must call 24 hours or more before they come so we can unlock our side gate and they did not do this the last 2 times they came out. The technician had told us the reason they came without calling was because "they were behind on calls" which is why they just showed up. Then, I called the local branch and it took 12 minutes to wait for them to answer and the girl that spoke to me was condescending and rude with expressing how I felt it was not right to come 16 days after my last visit and not notify us either. She just said, "Ok, we're sorry." She spoke in a passive-aggressive to and not care to remedy the situation and seemed more than happy to cancel my service when requested. They had no remorse or possible solutions to help the situation or offer partial credit for all that they have done. DON'T USE ORKIN, if you don't want to deal with India call centers to communicate and no one ever calls back, or charge for phantom visits, or deal with incompetent office and field personnel. read more

Horrible experience. Such incompetence in their billing dept. I paid with check at the time of service and they still charged my debt card not once but TWICE for $2783!! The first time I get it, it was a simple error. I called immediately, they apologized and said they are refunding the additional charge. The next day I wake up to a notification from my bank saying that they didn't refund anything instead they charged my account AGAIN!!! I'm beyond livid. Now I have to wait almost a week to receive my refund. A total of $5566 in additional charges!!! So now I'm behind on all my bills, mortgage, can't even pay for gas or even put food on the table for my family. And there's no guarantee of when I'll receive my refund. Thanks Orkin! Horrible experience with this company, Harvey Fung Termite Inspector specifically. He failed to get the gas turned off on my property the day of the fumigation. He called me when I was already out of my home in a hotel with my family that he would not be able to do the fumigation that day because there was a misunderstanding with the gas company and the shut off was for a different date. Completely unacceptable ! We had already double bagged and thrown away food that would not fit in the fridge, we had paid for hotels and arranged for a friend to take care of my pet. Fumigation was supposed to start on Thursday, he called me that same day to cancel and tried to get me to reschedule for Monday, I declined. Come Monday I was greeted by a sign on my door that my gas was shut off for fumigation. Another fantastic move by Mr. Fung. I called the gas company and had the gas turned back on. This whole experience was a waste of time and money. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

Probably not the local office's fault, but I've been trying to get a callback about my contracted services for a couple of weeks - everything goes through their national call center-slash-black hole and I can't get any answers. Also really not thrilled with the national organization - they used my annual inspection report as bait to try to upsell. Who TF uses registered mail and a "you must sign and return xxx immediately" on their existing customers? xxx being 2 of 9 pages of my *paid-for* inspection report which I still do not have a full copy of. At this point I'd say use a local company - they'll at least care a little bit when you call. read more

My exterminator at this Orkin is Eric, and he's been amazing. He is always professional every time he arrives, and he has a very friendly attitude. Whenever I have anybody over, be it AC repair, cable company, even food delivery, I make quick decisions about the person. After all, they're in my home. But Eric is exactly the type of provider I hope for whenever I hire someone. On top of being a friendly chap, he knows his stuff. There isn't any hesitation when he speaks about where the problem areas are and what he'll do to remedy them. That confidence is comforting to my whole family, since we know we're in good hands. The proof is in the work. We're pest free. We feel secure every time we go to the backyard that we're not going to get bit by a black widow that's hiding behind the trash bin handles. We're very lucky to have stumbled onto Eric. It's always a luck of a draw whenever you call anyone to come over for home service. But the Universe delivered in spades and introduced us to Eric. read more

Really unprofessional, rude, and liars! Had rude lady provide service one time and she gave my mother attitude (shown on my ring camera). Called the company and told them I do not want that unprofessional woman at my house for future services. Of course, they still decided to send her back this "last service". I was at work and got a text message saying they arrived at my house and provided service , blah blah blah. Got home , received a email from Orkin with my invoice and the documents showing what was done. Charged me 97$. Checked my ring camera at the times documented in the report. To my surprise, I did not see this girl there! I checked the camera at all times recorded and even asked my husband to check his and sure enough, nothing! The report showed her name (Jeanette Franklin) was at my home and noted the times she was supposedly there. I contacted the Orkin manager, Monique Gomez and she was just as rude! I asked for my money back and she said no. Clearly, on the website it states if you are not satisfied with your services money back guaranteed. She stated "well the gps shows Jeanette was there at your home". I told her I understand that l, but my cameras do not show her there. She asked me for footage. I sent her a long email telling her I will not be sending her this footage and I would like to speak to her supervisor. I also said I would send the footage to her supervisor. I would definitely not recommend this company. O, by the way, the medicine or chemical they use sucks! Had this company for about three or four services and we still had bugs! read more

We had Orkin at our previous house from 1996 to 2006 and then at our current house from 2006 to June 16, 2021. Our service guy Jose Diaz was excellent but the customer service is horrible. We have had issues with this company in the past had a service person that would peek in the windows when he was spraying the outside and another that worked as little as he possibly could and then would edit in his truck like he worked the whole time. Finally we called to reschedule and it message indicated it was a 45 minute wait to Leave a message with information and someone would call back. We did, no call back the service person should up the next day and said we would be charged as it was not officially canceled. We called customer service and the person said well you should have waited the 45 minutes. We don't check the messages. They do not care that we were customers for over 25 years. Tech was kind to my dogs and that's a 5 star already. He inspected the interior and exterior. Gave recommendations to seal any openings. Then sprayed inside and outside. He communicated throughout and was conversational. He gave his contact info and schedule for checking up as well as return visits.
